Lil Tjay Is Determined To Succeed On “No No”

One thing that is pretty consistent when it comes to Lil Tjay’s music is that he is never afraid to get personal. Usually, he will focus on topics such as self-confidence, broken relationships, or coming to grips with being alone or just a handful of people. On this latest Lil Tjay single, “No No”, the latter is the thematic focus, and you can hear the rawness coming from him. As per usual, The Bronx native is mixing his high pitch singing with melodic flows over a dramatic instrumental. The latter has a steady groove to it, with sad piano keys and New York drill-esque drums leading the way.

What also seems to be another constant is that Tjay’s tracks are ideal for the late summer nights. “No No” is recapturing that same vibe for us and it will be in rotation going forward. Fans are also enjoying his messages of riding with your closest guys and making it out. However, they are noticing one major issue with “No No”. When you listen to the song, you can hear a slight fuzziness throughout Tjay’s performance. Fans were quick to point out the mixing error in his IG comments. One user writes, “this is a good song but why is the final mixing so horrible, it doesnt sound right at all, rerelease this with mixing and mastering”. Time will tell if the hitmaker makes the adjustments but give “No No” a try below.

Flau’jae Recruits Lil Wayne For High-Octane Track “Came Out A Beast”

Last month, Flau’jae Johnson took to Instagram to announce that she would be dropping her new album, Best Of Both Worlds. The LSU Tigers athlete has since unveiled the project, which boasts multiple high-profile features. NLE Choppa joins her on “AMF” and 2Rare on “Karma.” Lil Wayne also hopped on “Came Out A Beast.”

The energetic track, which was released a day before the LP as a single, leads with some quick bars from Flau’jae about starting from the bottom and coming out on top. The 20-year-old’s effortless flow is backed by a soulful sample and followed by a characteristically sharp verse from Weezy. She reflected on her experience working alongside the New Orleans-born performer late last month, as captured by Complex, revealing that it was nothing short of unforgettable. “Working with Lil Wayne on ‘Came Out a Beast’ was a surreal experience,” she explained when asked how it was.

“His energy and talent pushed me to new heights,” she also added. Flau’jae later took to social media to show off just how much she admires his verse, rapping the entire thing with ease in a video that quickly went viral. What do you think of Flau’jae’s new album, Best Of Both Worlds? What about her collaboration with Lil Wayne? Will you be adding “Came Out A Beast” to your playlist or not? BIGBABYGUCCI Is As Confident As Ever On New Single, “You A Joke”: Stream

BIGBABYGUCCI’s come a long way since the Iridesense mixtape back in 2022, and two years later, he’s working hard at reaching that next level in his career. Moreover, he just dropped the new single “You A Joke” following other hot tracks this year like “Balenciaga Store Closed,” and this latest cut continues his woozy production style and entrancing flows and delivery. It’s a very warbled and dizzying cut thanks to heavy tremolo synth effects, frantic percussive patterns, and muddy, fuzzy bass hits.

However, arguably the greatest draw of “You A Joke” is BIGBABYGUCCI himself, maintaining steady mid-tempo flows while switching between nasal vocal inflections and deeper, more cavernous refrains. While he’s no A-tier vocalist, he comes through with a lot of personality on this track, especially towards the end of his verse where he allows his flows to be a bit more malleable and bouncy. In addition, some other melodic synth additions here and there flesh out the sonic pallet a little more.

2024 might just be the year that BIGBABYGUCCI finds his massive stride, and we’ll see whether there’s something long-form to come or if this will be piece-by-piece. If you haven’t heard “You A Joke” yet, check it out on your preferred streaming service or find it on YouTube below. Also down there, you can peep some notable lyrics from the record plus the comments section for you to drop in your thoughts on this new single. Doechii Takes Off In A “Rocket” On New Single: Stream

Doechii’s relentless 2024 run continues, and her latest offering is a collaboration with Sprite Limelight for the new single and music video, “ROCKET.” Moreover, it takes inspiration from African and Jamaican genres like Afrobeat and dancehall, but still contains some fiery sung verses and interesting vocal dynamics and treatments. It follows the TDE signee’s last single “MPH” and her successful “Alter Ego” collab with JT and its resulting remixes.

Furthermore, “ROCKET” is much more of a light and casual single that brings home the summer vibes with catchy warbled bass, airy vocal harmonies, and a dance-ready rhythm. Like in the rest of Doechii’s catalog, she comes through with some sharp lines on self-respect and consciousness, and is a very fun tune regardless of its style. In any case, seeing this success this year is always a treat, whether it’s through the rise of solo cuts like “Persuasive” or mash-ups of that song with former label mate Kendrick Lamar’s smash hit, “Not Like Us.”

Meanwhile, with a heartening and supportive Pride Month behind her during which she showed love to the community, we can’t wait to hear what Doechii does next. If you haven’t heard “ROCKET” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check out the music video for the Sprite Limelight partnership below. Down there, you can also find some standout bars from the track and the comments section for you to drop your thoughts on this new record. As always, come back to HNHH for more killer hip-hop releases around the clock.

Luh Tyler Wants All The Pretty Ladies To Put Their “Handz Up” On Newest Track

Luh Tyler is keeping his prolific stretch of singles going, as he drops “Handz Up”. The future Tallahassee, Florida superstar is keeping up with the more established names in his state, and he is going stride for stride with them. The quality is there in its own way, as the youngster continues to embody the trademark sleepy flows while staying original. In 2024, Luh Tyler has put out five singles in total now with “Handz Up” being out and this one sees him on his softer side. He wants to show some love to the pretty women out there who support his music.

“Yeah, yeah, if you a bad b****, then put your hands up (Put your hands up)“. However, for fans of his more cutthroat stuff do not worry, the bars are still very braggadocious. “Bust the Rollie down, I don’t got no timе for these b****es (Ice, ice, ice) / They ain’t never think that we would shine ’til we did it (On God) / Check my roster, all my b****es fine, yeah, they pretty (Bad b****) / Bro done lost his mind, he ridin’ ’round with that switchy (Grrah)“. But the overall atmosphere of the track is more lowkey. That is thanks to the watery instrumental and Tyler’s slower pace. He is also incorporating more melodic flows this time around, showing off that versatility. Be sure to check out “Handz Up” with the link below.

Childish Gambino Returns With “Lithonia” From His Upcoming Film, “Bando Stone & The New World”

Childish Gambino has returned with the first song from the soundtrack to his upcoming film, Bando Stone & The New World. The track, “Lithonia,” sees Gambino singing about feeling trapped and like no one “gives a f*ck” about him. He’ll be heavily involved in the upcoming project, serving as the director while also starring in and handling the soundtrack for the highly-anticipated film. It follows a former singer stuck on a tropical island during an apocalyptic event. The album will be dropping on July 19, although it’s unclear when the film will hit theaters.

In the comments section on YouTube, fans have been thrilled to finally be getting more music from Gambino. One user joked: “He finally remembered his YouTube account password.” Another wrote: “Damn, love this new sound Gambino’s experimenting with. Great song!” The release comes after Gambino made headlines at the BET Awards for calling the organization over his lack of recognition at their events. His lone BET Award win was for Video of the Year with his hit song, “This is America,” in 2019. Perhaps “Lithonia” and Bando Stone & The New World will finally bring him some more success. Be on the lookout for further updates on Childish Gambino on HotNewHipHop.

Heems Thanks The Women In His Life On New Single “MANTO” With Vijay Iyer & Sid Vashi: Stream

Heems has been on a prolific roll in 2024, as expected, and yet the depth of his concepts and rhymes sometimes feels like he’s sat on them for years. Moreover, he just dropped a new single and music video, “MANTO,” featuring Detroit-based producer Sid Vashi and pianist and composer Vijay Iyer. It follows his first solo album in nine years, LAFANDAR, which dropped this February and was bolstered by singles like “Sri Lanka.”

Furthermore, the “Accent” MC tackles generational trauma from the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan, both in his lyricism and in his music video. In the visuals, Heems features the women in his family, including his mother, his sister, his nieces, and his late aunt. His delivery is passionate and restless, whereas the piano-led melodies and dusty boom-bap beat add a layer of melancholy, nostalgia, and tenderness to the song. It’s a reflection on heritage in many different ways, not only touching on ethnic and national roots, but also speaking to how the heft of experiences like the Partition and the conflict and pain that ensued can also define our inheritances.

We know that Heems has been through a lot in his personal life, and this perseverant record translates beautifully as a historical encapsulation and a touching tribute. If you haven’t heard “MANTO” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check out the music video below. Also down there, you can find some standout bars and the comments section for you to drop your thoughts on the track. Meanwhile, as always, come back to HNHH for more great rap drops around the clock.

Bakar & Lancey Foux Make A Hit “Everytime” On New Single: Stream

Two English artists are here to give you what might be one of your songs of the summer thanks to its breezy atmosphere and sticky melodies. Moreover, Bakar and Lancey Foux reunited on “Everytime” and continued their collaborative history, and this follows the latter’s prolific collaborations with other artists. He linked with Teezo Touchdown and Cash Cobain for the recent “Daylight,” whereas he had tapped Cash already for the single “Gotta Get U.”

Furthermore, these tracks have been a little bit softer compared to Lancey Foux’s more rambunctious material, and “Everytime” is no different. Bakar soars over a crisp and springy percussion pattern, light guitar chords, sampled vocal runs, and pretty resonant kicks towards the end. They sing of their romantic woes with the same tenderness that you could’ve heard on the “In Disguise” singer’s debut studio album, Nobody’s Home. In addition to all this, there are also some subtle melodic and percussive variations throughout the song that keep it engaging.

Bakar and Lancey Foux clearly have a lot of chemistry, and it’s a privilege to hear them continue bringing out the best in each other. If you haven’t heard “Everytime” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or find it on YouTube below. Also down there is a set of notable lines from the track if you’re curious, as well as the comments section for you to drop your thoughts on this single. Wiki & Tony Seltzer Swerve While “Dodging Losses” With Papo2oo4 On New Single: Stream

Wiki and Tony Seltzer are on one heck of a run right now, following up quickly on their previous 2024 single “No L’s” with some more bizarre but nonetheless impressive heat. Moreover, their new collaboration “Dodging Losses” is one of their oddest but most creative and unique tracks yet, and it features Papo2oo4 on the hook, as well. It follows their incredible chemistry on the album 14K Figaro from last year, and proves that they have so much more to offer the hip-hop world.

Furthermore, “Dodging Losses” is an exercise in intricate rhyme schemes and coldly delivered and cynically comical bars from Wiki and Papo2oo4, whereas Tony Seltzer provides an oddball bounce, fuzzy bass, digitally distorted synths, and a lot of different beeps and bloops to make the beat feel all the more vivid. What’s more is that each half of this duo has a lot more material for you to discover. Tony’s collab album with MIKE, Pinball, is one of 2024’s best albums so far, whereas Wiki also linked with MIKE and The Alchemist for their collaborative effort, 2023’s Faith Is A Rock.

Check out “Mayors A Cop” for a taster of that, and look forward to what else Wiki and Tony Seltzer have coming down the pipeline. If you haven’t heard “Dodging Losses” with Papo2oo4 yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check it out on YouTube below.
