Comethazine Shocks Fans With Transition Into Rock Music Following Two-Year Hiatus

Comethazine is an artist who burst onto the scene back in 2018 with his now-iconic track “Walk.” At the time, the song was known for its incredible music video that came courtesy of Lyrical Lemonade. Furthermore, the track had skeletal production and murderous bars that made the artist come across as a sociopath. Overall, it was a recipe for success that carried over into the artist’s Bawskee projects. For five years, Comethazine remained consistent with his craft, until he just up and left with no explanation.

Yesterday, Comethazine made his return to Instagram for the first time in two years. Fans were pretty stunned to hear from him, however, it was nice to know that he’s doing alright. In fact, it appears as though the artist has come through with a rebrand of sorts. He is now rocking a mustache and is dressing like a ’70s rockstar. Additionally, it looks like he’s been taking some guitar lessons. In the video down below, Comethazine can be heard playing a lick, and it sounds pretty amazing.

Comethazine Is Trying Something New

As you can imagine, social media was flooded with fans who were shocked by the change. When you think about Comethazine’s early work, it’s hard to imagine him pivoting this hard. That said, it is always cool to watch an artist evolve. Clearly, he has a passion for rock, and he wanted to go away for a couple of years to perfect his craft. Hopefully, he follows this up with a new song or even an album in the not-so-distant future. We’d love to know if he is exploring the rock sound further or if he is simply engaging in some well-thought-out promo.

Tokyo Toni Roasted For Cardi B Diss Track Over “Like What (Freestyle)” Beat

She and DDG had a son who they named Halo and who is already garnering some clout of his own through pictures shared to the Instagram account they made for him. Her pregnancy was kept secret for much of its duration though fan speculation ran rampant for months leading up to her eventual delivery date. Today fans got their answer as she officially announced the release date of a song she’s already been teasing. The track is called “In Your Hands” and fans will get to hear the full thing on March 15. For now, she treated her followers to a snippet of the song. She shared 30 seconds of the track in a video on twitter soundtracking some behind the scenes footage from her recent Essence cover shoot. Ice Spice has remained consistent with her sound up until this point, so we don’t foresee any massive changes. However, if she comes through with some surprises, then this could be one of the biggest releases of the entire year.

MIKE & Tony Seltzer Pay Homage To UGK On New Single “Underground Kingz”: Stream

MIKE and Tony Seltzer had an incredibly prolific 2023, but it seems like they had no plans of slowing down this year. Moreover, they just dropped another collaborative single exclusively on YouTube paying homage to UGK with the new music video for “Underground Kingz.” They dropped the track “R&B” a couple of weeks ago, and this new visual’s description on the social media platform indicates that there’s more coming. The New Jersey native included the following message: “MIKE & Tony Seltzer – Pinball 3/06.” As such, it seems like we’re getting a full collab album from this duo in just a couple of days on Wednesday (March 6), which is very exciting.

Furthermore, this track definitely adds to that hype with a vibrant, sample-led, and fun beat that speeds up and slows down for a completely different instrumental. In fact, each part of “Underground Kingz” evokes a Bay Area or Detroit bounce to some fast-paced or slower degree, and is also reminiscent of UGK’s Southern roots and artistry. We’re not sure if MIKE and Tony Seltzer actually sampled them for this song, but either way, their tribute came through both sonically and lyrically. Speaking of which, the “Mayors A Cop” lyricist comes through with some really sharp bars here displaying his consistently and mindfully talented pen. On the other hand, the beatsmith cooks up an amazing and cohesive atmosphere for him to ride on.

SiR Unveils The Tracklist And Impressive Features For His New Album

Earlier this year, Top Dawg Entertainment promised big things from their artists. They revealed that nearly every single artist on the label and even some new ones would be releasing new projects this year. That busy schedule is already underway with the release of ScHoolboy Q’s new album Blue Lips earlier this month. SZA also set-up the highly-anticipated release of her SOS deluxe version LANA with the single “Saturn” last month.

Next up on the docket is SiR, who’s 4th album and 3rd on Top Dawg is dropping later this month. The album is called Heavy and it drops on March 22. In anticipation of the record’s arrival, he’s shared the full tracklist including the impressive array of features appearing on the record. The album is 16 tracks long, five of which contain appearances from features. Ty Dolla $ign, Isaiah Rashad, Anderson .Paak, Ab-Soul, and Scribz Riley will all be lending their talents to the project. SiR Shares “Heavy” Tracklist

SiR has already teased the new album with a pair of singles. The first was “No Evil” one of his most soulful songs to date which dropped back in December. The two crossed paths on the song “Karma” where they dug into how their issues could have spawned from their own actions in the past. Both singles were pretty well received by fans, building up quite a bit of hype for the new album.

Heavy is the first new SiR album in 5 years. His third album Chasing Summer dropped back in 2019. It was his first to crack the Billboard 200 where it landed at number 64 in its first week. Miley Cyrus & Pharrell Revive Bangerz Era Track

At the time of writing, the song is in the top 10 of the U.S. iTunes chart. It’s also trending on YouTube, Spotify and more. It features powerful vocals and fun adlibs from Miley, and groovy, upbeat production from Pharrell. While Pharrell doesn’t contribute to the track vocally, fans can agree that his touch is woven throughout, and embodies his signature sound. The release is also accompanied by a playful accompanying music video, which sees Miley channel her inner Tina Turner, dancing along to the catchy single.

Fans first got a glimpse at the unedited version of “Doctor (Work It Out)” back in 2017. It was originally written amid Miley’s Bangerz era, and though various other Pharrell-produced tracks made the cut, got set aside. Today, Tago makes his website premiere with a new single called “D.A.M.N.” Tago hails from Dallas, Texas and his style is so colorful.

That is apparent from the track, but also its creatively shot music video. Tago brings a smooth and confident tone to the song. Which makes sense considering what the main message is for this cut. According to AllHipHop, “D.A.M.N.” is an acronym that stands for “Determined and Motivated N****.”

Iann Dior Showcases Some Solid Singing Chops On EP “BLIND”

Iann Dior burst onto the scene back at the start of the 2020’s with he and 24kGoldn’s smash hit “Mood.” The song is over 1.8 billion (!) streams since its release in 2021. While the young Puerto Rican artist still has a respectable 11 million plus monthlies on the platform, the hype around him does not feel as strong as it once did. It seems artists like him and 24k had their massive hit and then people left them behind sort of. However, iann dior is still churning out some solid material if you were not aware, like his new EP BLIND.

This six-song project quickly follows up his 2023 album leave me where you found me. Iann Dior is still rocking the pop punk, emo rap style that he became known for. However, BLIND is more of a foray into the pop sound than anything else. Its lead single “House On Fire” is a terrific start to the tape that climaxes instrumentally around the 2:00 mark.
