One of the best qualities of NLE Choppa is his technical ability. He may not be the most thought-provoking lyricist, but that is not the type of music he makes. The established star Memphis rapper brings head-knocking trap bangers. Out of all of the artists from that city, he is near the top of the heap.

He is bringing some of his patented energetic performances to a new project. For this one, he teamed up with a close buddy of his, DJ BOOKER, for a seven-song offering. The Chosen Ones does not really feature a theme, just tracks that you can catch a vibe from. A song we feel you should be paying attention to is “Mem.”

This is the lead single for the tape and it features some heavy and dark piano keys from BOOKER. Choppa comes in on a mission to rap as fast as he can. Is Big Boi Making New Music? Rapper’s Latest IG Post Sparks Hope Amongst Fans

Big Boi fans are excited about the possibility of new music from the Outkast rapper following his latest Instagram post. The post, simply captioned “Day 1”, saw Big Boi opening his iconic “Jedi Rap Sh-t” notebook in the studio. Furthermore, the rapper added the iconic Outkast track “Hootie Hoo” as the post’s soundtrack.

Fans were absolutely here for the possibility for new Big Boi solo work or a new Outkast project. “Mannn I don’t care if Dre chips in with a flute or a triangle, I’m here for it ,” one person said. “Get the fire extinguisher that Southernplayalistic Boi’ is back ,” exclaimed another. “@bigboi @andre3000 So what y’all are saying is your going to do a #SouthernPlayalisticCadillacMusic #30Year Anniversary concert performing the entire album at the #BuckheadTheatre or #TabernacleATL one-night only with commerative autographed album covers for attendees and I get VIP tickets because I guessed it right???” theorized a third.

However, back in November 2023, Big Boi was having to deal with a whole over variant of hootie hoo’ing. Big Boi was performing at Kennessaw State after the Owls had taken down Lincoln University of Oakland and did so with the school’s mascot, Kenny the Owl, sitting on his arm. However, the bird immediately freaked out after Big Boi started performing and attempted to fly away. Furthermore, Kenny was tethered to his arm, leading the rapper to have to try and corral the bird as Kenny went berserk trying to escape. Eventually, Kenny’s handler arrived on the scene to alleviate the Outkast member.

However, prior to the game, Big Boi had posted a video to his Instagram of him and Kenny chilling much more calmly. It’s likely that the bird didn’t like the sudden loud music and the rapper’s attempts to dance to it during his concert.

NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER Team For A Mini Project “The Chosen Ones”

NLE Choppa is teaming up with an old friend for a little seven-track project. But first, let us take a quick look back at his 2023. The Memphis talent was pretty active, as he worked with some international artists while sticking to his roots. Some of his highlights included the sequel to his debut project Cottonwood.

In terms of tracks that stood out for Choppa, it is quite a long list. One of his hottest collaborations was with French rapper Gambi on “Bonjour.” Of course, you also have the singles “IT’S GETTING HOT,” which was very polarizing. Additionally, he closed out his halo “Shotta Flow” series with the seventh installment.

To start the new year, we mentioned Choppa is working with a familiar face for a short album called The Chosen Ones. That artist is DJ BOOKER. He has been crafting beats since 2016 but has a very minimal discography. BOOKER weaves in and out of different lanes such as dance, electronic, and rap. These two first worked with each other on a 2020 loosie “Ayeee.” Then, they would go on to release the eventual lead single for this tape in 2022 with “Mem.” To match the various production choices Choppa uses multiple cadences that make him sound like someone else. Stunna Girl and YG are getting 2024 started off right. The pair didn’t wait long into the new year to share a new track and the song itself doesn’t hold anything back. It’s the first time the duo have collaborated on a song together and they brought out one raunchy bar after another for the hard-hitting banger. Over a Bankroll Got It beat the duo both flex their unique talents in the bedroom with a pair of short but ultimately very memorable verses. Listen to the entire song below.

“Stand Up” follows a 2023 that saw Stunna Girl releasing a few other notable collaborations. She found herself with a surprise hit in the song “Like Dat” which has amassed nearly 10 million streams on Spotify alone. To push the track even higher she recruited French Montana for a remix. Shortly after, she teamed up with JT of City Girls fame for yet another remix of the song. All three versions of the song sit among other tracks like “Real Rap” and “Pretty Privlidge” as some of her most-streamed music to date.

Stunna Girl Flexes On “Stand Up”

Meanwhile, YG may have had an even busier 2023. He released an entire collaborative project with Tyga called Hit Me When U Leave The Klub. The album also featured appearances from Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, and Blxst. The single “Brand New” with Lil Wayne served as quite the breakout hit with over 22 million Spotify streams since it dropped last year.

YG also made an appearance on Saweetie’s single “BIRTHDAY.” The song dropped right in the midst of a series of times the couple were spotted enjoying nights out together. Zaytoven’s Son Zayskii Unleashes His First Project “I’m The One”

Last month, HNHH had the absolute pleasure in speaking with the iconic trap producer, Zaytoven. His featured interview was a part of our Advent Calendar. It was a 25-day event on the site in which we had one unique feature piece each day of December up until Christmas Day for those who celebrate. In the chat we discussed a whole bunch of topics surrounding the landscape of hip-hop to what he has going on in his career.

One of the interesting things that came up was that his son, who goes by Zayskii, was going to be coming out with his debut project. He also feels that he is uber talented and become a true superstar. “I have a son that I feel like is a real dope artist and can produce for me. I sit and watch him in my studio and he go down there and make beats and record songs all day and I listen like, ‘dang you got the gift without me even shadowing you all the time. You almost know more stuff than I know.’”

Veeze Works With Gallery Provence For New Single “WORST”

The city of Detroit is continuing to produce some hot new talent with Veeze being one of them. Last year was one to remember for the 29-year-old sensation. His album Ganger brought him more mainstream attention than ever before. While his mumbly and lackadaisical style is not for everyone, he is certainly striking a chord with enough listeners. We came out with a list of five artists who we feel deserve more attention in 2024. Unfortunately, we did not include Veeze.

However, the reasoning for that was because we felt he was already pretty popular and too obvious of a pick. If there was an honorable mention part of the top five, he would be on there without a doubt. Now that the new year is here, Veeze is looking to get things off to a strong start. To do that he is teaming up with music video creators, Gallery Provence, for “WORST.”

BLP KOSHER Starts Off The New Year With A “Dreidel Bop”

During our Advent Calendar for the Christmas season, we came out with a listicle about five artists you should be paying closer attention to. We went with artists that have some semblance of a fan base but have not fully blown up. One of those artists we included was BLP KOSHER. The Jewish rapper hailing from Broward County, Florida began to come on strong in the latter half of 2023.

Bars Mitzvah, his second project, dropped back in early August and it became a sensation. Tracks like “Special K,” “The Nac 3,” “Wicked Miracle,” and more were some prime examples of the hits he had on it. Then, a couple of months later, he and the cloud rap icon from Sweden, Yung Lean, got together for “Violent Lullaby.”

It saw him take a more melodic approach, something that KOSHER is not accustomed to doing. The song is not reinventing the wheel, but it does its job as a solid banger.

NLE Choppa Gets Quavo & Destroy Lonely In The Studio Together

NLE Choppa has had a more than promising start to his young rap career. Overall, he has already put out some great projects and he continues to release consistently. Although some may have been taken aback by his various changes in sound, he has found himself again. There have been some dope freestyles from the rapper as of late, and he continues to push himself. Sure, he may get into some beef with people like Blueface from time to time, but sometimes, that just comes with the territory.

Moving forward, it would appear as though NLE is interested in working with a different crop of artists than he is normally used to. We know this because he recently took to his Instagram story where he showed off some of the names he is currently working with. You may actually be surprised, although the title of this article did give it away. Yes, Destroy Lonely, Quavo, and NLE Choppa were all in the studio together recently. These are three artists with different styles, so we can only imagine what a collaboration would sound like.

In 2023, Quavo dropped Rocket Power which was a tribute album to Takeoff. Meanwhile, Destroy Lonely came out with the album If Looks Could Kill. NLE was also busy, which means these artists could easily get away with chilling. However, they have a passion for the music, and they seem to be cooking up right now. Whether or not a collaboration from these two ends up coming out, still remains to be seen. Regardless, it is cool to see artists with various different styles getting together like this.

Flatbush Zombies are one of the most respected trios in all of hip-hop. Their underground style has been a hit with a lot of people over the years. Zombie Juice, Meechy Darko, and Erick the Architect all bring a distinct sound to the table. Last year, two out of three members out out full projects.

Zombie was the first to fire away with Love Without Conditions in April. Then, it was Meechy who came through at the end of October with Doses. Now, Erick is going to complete the trilogy in late February. It will be called I’ve Never Been Here Before and a few singles have been released ahead of its drop.
