2Pac & DMX’s AI-Inspired Track Is Fan Approved

Artificial intelligence’s growing presence in music has often divided fans. However, a new track that features a posthumous link-up between 2Pac and DMX has been well-received by fans. The snippet has sent fans into a frenzy online. Posted by Youtuber dopfunk, the track entitled “Facing Death” finds the two legends recalling their own demise.

I’m gone, but I will never be forgotten/ Was talkin’ about death ’cause I knew n*ggas was plotting,” the AI 2Pac raps. “So I came back, only to haunt these n*ggas/ Snakes will slither/ It don’t matter who pulled the trigger!” Following that, DMX’s AI-generated verse takes on a disturbingly similar haunting tone: “And in due time, you’ll find out for yourself who you be. Ain’t no riches that will help you in hell when you meet/ Your maker/ He’ll break you down and analyze what you did in your life/ N*gga, everybody has to die.”

Some Are Still Skeptical About AI’s Growing Use in Music

The comment section was flooded with comments about the track’s authenticity, and one person even said that it “resurrected the essence of these great artists.” Some even proposed that the Youtuber should make more music. Another fan wrote, “They live on through your art man, Dopfunk keep this coming a full album would be intoxicating. This gave me chills and reminded me what real hip hop is again, thank you for what you do. 2Pac and DMX are immortal, hataz can never kill a legend!!”

But not everyone is on board with AI technology being used in music. Earlier this year, Drake and The Weeknd’s voices were used on the AI-inspired track “heart on my sleeve.” In response, Universal Music Group, where both artists are currently signed, issued a statement. In the letter, the company asked its stakeholders about “which side of history” they want to be on. Whether it’s on “the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation.”

At this point, it seems clear that the artist is ready to take the leap to superstardom. If only more artists would feature him on their projects.

As it turns out, a new album called Lifestyle might just be on the horizon. Southside Previews New Music With Future And Lil Yachty

One of the undisputed G.O.A.Ts (greatest of all time) in the Atlanta rap scene, especially when it comes to producers, is Southside. He has worked alongside the most popular rappers of this generation like Young Thug, Drake, Travis Scott, and countless others. The biggest hits will easily go down as the best trap rap songs of this decade and maybe ever. Those include, “Both” with Gucci Mane and Drake, “Met Gala” by Offset and Gucci Mane, there are just too many to name.

However, it is hard to ignore arguably his most frequent collaborator, Future. His recent efforts on Pluto’s latest record I NEVER LIKED YOU, were absolute heat and debatably the most well-produced tracks. Southside’s fingerprints were on “I’M DAT N****,” “WE JUS WANNA GET HIGH,” and “VOODOO,” featuring Kodak Black. With the success of that album and the camaraderie that the Atlanta superstars possess, they are continuing to combine their talents in the studio. However, Lil Yachty is teaming up with the legend as well and both sound incredible in this latest Instagram video.

He has released a couple of loose singles titled, “Slide,” “SOLO STEPPIN CRETE BOY,” and “Strike (Holster) over the past couple of weeks, and fans are enjoying them. It seems he wants to get back into the trap scene and Southside is the perfect match for that.

Lakeyah Puts Her Spin On J-Kwon’s “Tipsy” With “In Da Club” From “The PixTape EP”

As J. Cole recently pointed out, the women of rap have been holding it down in 2023. It may have taken the genre over half a year to generate the first No. 1 hip-hop album and single, but still, the content we’ve heard coming from our favourite female artists these past few months has been incredible. Last New Music Friday (August 4), several up-and-comers, Lola Brooke, Flo Milli, BIA, Lakeyah, and Doechii came together to show their stuff with help from Angie Martinez and DJ Diamond Kuts on The PixTape EP.

Today, we’re spotlighting Lakeyah’s “In Da Club,” which finds the 22-year-old making great use of J-Kwon’s “Tipsy” beat. “One, here comes the two to three to the four / Every b**ch around me want the milli’ and amor,” Lakeyah reimagines the original lyrics on the first verse. “A ni**a whisper to me that he tryna see me more / I whisper back, ‘I am not a b**ch you can afford,’” she confidently continues just a few bars later.

Lakeyah is “In Da Club” This Summer

As AllHipHop notes, J-Kwon’s classic song peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2004. It appeared on his Hood Hop LP, which also boasts tracks like “You & Me” featuring Sadiyyah and “My Enemies” with Jermaine Dupri. The last album we heard from the rapper was his self-titled effort in March 2010. While he’s not generating hits like he used to, it’s certainly nice to see the industry pay homage to the past generation of artists.

Listen to Lakeyah’s confident “In Da Club” track above, and if you’re feeling it, be sure to add it to your playlist on Spotify/Apple Music. C Dot Castro And Logic Trade Bars On “Masked Up”

C Dot Castro and Logic have some new heat on the street that many fans will eat up. These two have worked together extensively lately, and “Masked Up” is just another banger to add to their collection. For those who do not know, C Dot Castro has been in the underground scene for quite some time. He has put out a good amount of work since the mid-2010’s and he is looking to break free from that.

Additionally, he joined Logic’s own record label, Bobby Boy Records. Other artists on the label include Travis Stacey, JRB, Big Lenbo, Doctor Destruction, John Lindahl, and Kajo. It began in 2019, originally under Elysium, but that has obviously changed. Logic also partnered with Def Jam Records and Universal Music Group to make this happen. C Dot Castro brings a lot of energy to the track, providing the chorus and a full-fleshed out verse.

Are C Dot Castro And Logic A Dynamic Duo?

It makes you wonder if C Dot and Logic should come together for a collab album because their chemistry is so effortless on “Masked Up.” It was difficult to decide who has the better verse because both bring speedy flows and great rhymes. C Dot raps, “Spin it back like a ereh-ereh mix, mm Got that dope when you itch for the quick fix My whole life I’ve been running with misfits My whole life I’ve been up in the trenches.” The “ereh-ereh” bar is fun when you listen to it because C Dot is mimicking what a record sounds like when you push it back and forth.

What are your thoughts on this new track from Logic and C Dot Castro? Who has the best verse on the song? With all of their collaborations out should they drop a collab album? 50 Cent Tells “Men’s Health” Why He Doesn’t Wear Bulletproof Vests Anymore

Though 50 Cent never really left the public eye, he has roared back into the limelight for many this year. He’s currently on an absolutely massive 93-stop tour in celebration of his 2003 classic Get Rich Or Dye Tryin’ turning 20. He also just recently popped up on Nas’ new album Magic 2. The pair teamed up on a song called “Office Hours” which made for their first team-up in over 20 years. in a recent viral clip from his interview with Men’s Health, 50 explains how he learned to value himself and stop chasing all the women he met after becoming a celebrity.

Now more info from the interview is emerging, including why 50 Cent stopped wearing his iconic bulletproof vest. “When did I stop wearing the bulletproof vest? I don’t have a specific timeline for that,” his answer begins. “You know what happened? I got other things. I had gotten vehicles, like, full-blown level 6. The same stuff Obama is riding around in. “So it didn’t make sense to have to wear it every day because it was like in between that one space that I was going into the building and coming out of the building. So, I started to wear it less but this is almost like my hallmark. In the beginning of my career, I was seen more often with it than without it.”

50 Cent On Moving On From The Bulletproof Vest

Recently after a stop on his ongoing tour, 50 Cent caught up with Griselda rapper Benny The Butcher backstage. The crossover had fans dying for a new collaboration between the pair. That isn’t the only crossover people are hoping for following his team-up with Nas.

Last week Waka Flocka spoke on how he wanted 50 to team up with Busta Rymes for an entire collaborative album. While it didn’t serve as any kind of actual announcement of anything, fans had no trouble agreeing with the vision. What do you think of 50 Cent’s explanation for why he stopped wearing his trademark bulletproof vest? Let us know in the comment section below.
