Latto Leaves Her “Brokey” Behind In New Music Video

Latto continues to roll out Sugar Honey Iced Tea, and what would that process look like without a visual for one of the album’s biggest hits? The “Brokey” music video is finally here, and with colorful visual effects, guests like Rubi Rose, and a couple of interesting set pieces, it certainly succeeds at crafting an engaging, fun, and fitting treatment. Not only that, but the Clayton County femcee also included a short visual for a snippet of the track “There She Go,” so fans got a little bit extra. Overall, it’s definitely a music video highlight for the year, and one that shows her charisma and sense of humor quite well.

However, folks who remember the conversation around this song when it dropped know that it was a pretty controversial discussion. Many felt that “Brokey” looked down on less successful citizens who couldn’t afford luxurious gifts for their partners, a narrative that Latto quickly sought to combat. “I hate that y’all think I was calling hard workers brokeys [broken heart emoji],” she tweeted. “So I got $10k for whoever make the best video at they job to brokey & I’ll fly u out to be in the music video…no mo waiting til ur bday to go outta town. Tag me & hashtag #Brokey so I can see them all.”

Latto’s “Brokey”: Stream & Watch The Music Video

Then, a woman went viral for getting fired from her job at Waffle House for doing the “Brokey” challenge, but she ended up winning. Latto flew her out and she appeared in the music video. Seeing this full-circle moment was a treat to see, even if the visual doesn’t do much to go against the initial criticism of the song. Regardless, this context does make the viewing experience pretty interesting for those in the know.

Meanwhile, other Latto fans are more concerned with rampant relationship rumors around her, which she recently discussed with Angel Reese and Mariah The Scientist for the former’s podcast. Alas, they are no closer to finding her man for certain. Still, thanks to tracks and music videos like “Brokey,” we can assume that whoever Latto’s partner is has the will and money to treat her lavishly.

Eminem Touchingly Announces His Daughter’s Pregnancy In “Temporary” Music Video

Eminem continues to hearten fans and draw a couple of tears from them, as he just dropped the music video for his The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) cut “Temporary” featuring Skylar Grey. The song and visual is a touching tribute to his daughter Hailie Jade, with the lyrics hypothesizing on the Detroit rapper’s final message to her before his eventual passing. The visuals show old home video footage of Hailie, tearful moments at her wedding, and even the reveal that she’s expecting a child. We can’t believe that Marshall Mathers will become a grandfather soon, and from the looks of it, he can barely believe it either.

“I watched it in entirety and I don’t think I can do it again,” Hailie Jade recalled her reaction to Eminem’s “Somebody Save Me” music video featuring Jelly Roll, another family tribute. “I definitely cry every time I hear it at all. Between that and ‘Temporary’… I mean, I can’t. I audibly sobbed, I think, for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary.’ Watching the [‘Somebody Save Me’] video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up where I didn’t realize how bad things were.

I think that’s why I get emotional so much just thinking that that could have happened,” Hailie Jade shared concerning Eminem’s addiction struggles and near-death experiences. “And obviously that’s the point of the song. But I will say, if you’ve ever lost an addict or loved one, I feel for you.” “The older I get, the less I can listen to any of the songs,” she said of “Mockingbird.” “I’ve done enough crying and I told myself I refuse.”

However, Eminem and Hailie Jade aren’t the only ones who got emotional from these milestones. “I wish I had a daughter, I do, I wish I had a daughter,” 50 Cent recently told Haute Living of Hailie’s wedding. “I wish I had that [father-daughter] relationship. For female children, their dad is the first man they fall in love with. Male children go to their mom; I’m a mama’s boy myself. It was unbelievable, the wildest thing for me, period. I was like, ‘Yo, bro, this is cr*zy. We’re getting old. Your baby is grown. What the f**k is going on?’ I was having a moment myself over there. I told Em, ‘You said it was OK to cry? Because I’m crying.’ I couldn’t believe it went that fast.”

The Weeknd & Playboi Carti Share Minimalistic Visuals For Hit Collab “Timeless”

Brazilian fans of The Weeknd were treated to some previews of his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow. During the performance, Playboi Carti joined him onstage to give the rambunctious crowd a taste of what we now know to be “Timeless”. The superstars have been developing their relationship for the last year or so since the release of “Popular” last summer. So, it’s nice to see that Abel felt it was necessary to include him on his supposed final Weeknd album. So far, it seems that the Canadian multi-hyphenate is looking to give us an amalgamation of the sounds we have gotten on his last two projects with some callbacks to his earlier work too.

On “Timeless”, The Weeknd and his stacked team of producers blended some incredible shots of synths and contemporary trap production. It allowed Abel to effortlessly switch between his rapping and his delicate singing. Additionally, Carti drops the controversial deep voice for his OG high pitch delivery, making the track that much better. It seems that fans are in agreement with us on it too because the streaming numbers have been off the charts. In just the first 24 hours on Spotify, it racked up over 10 million plays. Currently, it’s over 24 million. These two new they had a hit, so it’s no surprise we have visuals for “Timeless” as of today. In comparison to the video for “Dancing In The Flames”, this one is not nearly as dramatic. It’s darker and grimier, with The Weeknd and Playboi rocking dark attire to match the cavernous vibe. It’s fairly minimalistic, as the locations rarely change from the plain black backdrop. Check out the music video below with the attached embed.

Ice Spice Makes The Strip Club Come Alive In New “Popa” Music Video: Watch

Ice Spice is still rolling out her new album Y2K!, and wants to show that it can still electrify a party. Moreover, the music video for “Popa” just released, and given its multiple visuals involving a strip club and a whole lot of shaking rumps, it’s pretty NSFW. Elsewhere, she also flaunts her private jet, vibes out on top of a luxury car, and parties all around. While not everyone in the world was a fan of the Bronx femcee’s latest output, she certainly hasn’t lost any motivation to keep her foot on the gas. It seems like she’s already working on her next step, which is exactly how you should handle criticism no matter whether or not it’s valid.

Elsewhere, Ice Spice is just enjoying the fruits of her fame, spreading her image and artistry around to every corner she can find that will take her. For example, she recently linked up with Madonna at a Luar New York Fashion Week show, one of many huge celebrity crossovers that she’s enjoyed over the years. We don’t know much about next moves, though, especially considering how frantic and busy of a year 2024 was for the hitmaker. But we know she has plenty of extracurricular avenues to develop, and plenty of time right now to think it over.

Ice Spice’s “Popa” Music Video: Watch

However, Ice Spice also has to contend with a lot of naysayers, even within the rap game. During a recent talent scout session with Funny Marco, Latto seemed to shade her by comparing her to a female rapper who tried out and, in the Atlanta femcee’s view, underwhelmed. “It gives me like… Ice Spice, probably,” she remarked. “It was like, ‘I’m so cute, grah.’”

But a lot of folks out there also know that the hate for Ice Spice (disregarding controversial allegations around her behavior) could come from pretty biased and misguided places. “B***hes hate Spice cuz n***as love spice,” Fivio Foreign recently tweeted, speculating as to why she gets so much negative attention. If the music just isn’t your thing, then we can’t pretend like this new “Popa” music video will convince you. Yet sadly, a lot of critics seem to forget that they can hold that simple opinion instead of turning it into vitriol.

LL Cool J & Eminem Star In New “Murdergram Deux” Music Video

Late last month, LL Cool J finally unleashed his single “Murdergram Deux” featuring Eminem ahead of his new album, The Force. An unfinished version of the track, simply dubbed “Murdergram” previously leaked online. Of course, fans couldn’t wait to hear the full version, which puts both rappers’ talents on full display.

Now, the New York-born performer has dropped a new music video to accompany the high-octane single, which has quickly become a fan favorite. The moody video is fairly straightforward and simple, allowing the song itself to take center stage. In it, the duo is seen spitting bars in front of walls covered in graffiti, speakers, and more. Listeners are certainly enjoying this latest release from LL Cool J. They have even more on the way from Eminem, however.

On Friday (September 13), he’s scheduled to drop a new Expanded Mourner’s Edition of his album The Death Of Slim Shady, which he released back in July. It’s expected to include various bonus tracks. One of them is rumored to feature production by The Alchemist, as he appeared in the cryptic and comedic trailer that dropped earlier this week. This is still unconfirmed at the time of writing. What do you think of LL Cool J and Eminem’s new “Murdergram Deux” music video? What about his new album, The Force? Are you looking forward to hearing the Expanded Mourner’s Edition of Eminem’s album The Death Of Slim Shady when it finally drops this Friday? Should these two team up again in the future? Rob49 Hypes Up His Girl On “I Swear To God”

Rob49 has built up a reputation amongst the hip-hop community is someone who’s always bouncing off the walls. Whether it be a single, feature, on a project, the Louisiana native doesn’t know what a break is. Not every rapper needs to be super lyrical to keep the listener’s attention. Sometimes, you just need to be able to craft high octane bangers to stay relevant. In the case of Rob49 that couldn’t be truer. Partially thanks to a feature on “TOPIA TWINS” off Travis Scott’s UTOPIA, more ears were able to hear what he’s been developing while in the shadows.

A lot of people liked what they heard because his monthly listeners have steadily increased over the last year. Now, he’s on a lot of major artist’s projects and his singles are popping off more than ever before. “I Swear To God”, the most recent from him, will assuredly gain traction fast. It’s got a blistering and booming beat that maintains the intensity from start to finish. The bells and dramatic strikes of keys add extra flare and Rob49’s flow’s and adlibs are erratic but in a good way. Throughout the song, he’s gassing up his girl who he dubs “the baddest b**** alive”. With the subject matter, the track is sure to thrive at night clubs across the country.

Toosii & Gunna Are A Perfect Match On Melodic “Champs Elysees”

New York/North Carolina raised rapper and singer Toosii is back with “Champs Elysees”, a new single featuring Gunna. This is the first time that these two artists have crossed paths, which is kind of a shocker. Both possess the ability to rap melodically at a high level in addition to sharing similar tastes when it comes to production. Like his new album, a Toosii and Gunna collab is long overdue. It seems as that “Champs Elysees” will be landing on an upcoming album for the “Favorite Song” MC in just about a month.

According to Genius, Toosii will be launching JADED on October 4, with “Fuk You Mean” being the lead-off track. Overall, Toosii and Gunna really do their thing over this soulful and luxurious trap beat. The main attraction has a catchy stop-and-go flow right from the opening lines of the sticky chorus that open up the record. Gunna similarly tackles the instrumental well with his signature auto-tune-tinged vocals. Besides being a head-nodding tune, Toosii and Gunna are also delivering some uplifting bars about chasing what they want in life. For example, Gunna raps, “The mansion in the hills, I need a few more / Five hundred Ms, I’m tryna reach the goal“. Fat Joe Gets Roasted For Going Shirtless In New Music Video

Recently, Fat Joe teamed up with Remy Ma to drop a new music video for their explosive track “Outta Control.” So far, the collab has been mostly well-received by fans. A moment from the video in particular, however, has prompted a major debate. At one point, Fat Joe appears without a shirt on, which has social media users split.

“Maaaan I almost asked why they got this lady sitting with her breasts all out and it’s just Fat Joe,” one fan writes. “I don’t know what’s cr*zier Fat Joe without a shirt or that Remy Ma bar,” another says. While many are clowning him, others are coming to his defense, noting how Remy Ma also went topless for a portion of the video.

Fat Joe & Remy Ma Go Topless In “Outta Control” Music Video And Earn Very Different Reactions

As expected, she hasn’t heard any complaints, though the same can’t be said for her collaborator. Many are now calling out critics and pointing out the double standard around male body positivity, urging haters to let Fat Joe live his best life without ridiculing him for it. At the time of writing, he’s yet to comment on the debacle.

With that being said, it looks like he has far bigger things to worry about than internet trolls these days. The performer is currently preparing to unleash his first solo album in roughly 14 years, following the release of The Darkside Vol. 1 in 2010. Reportedly, he plans to debut the lead single live at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with DJ Khaled and Brazilian artist Anitta later this month. What do you think of social media users clowning Fat Joe for going shirtless in his new music video? Do you think society needs to work on embracing male body positivity or not? Remy Ma Pushes The Nude Boundaries In “Outta Control” Visuals Alongside Fat Joe

Remy Ma, Fat Joe, and producing tandem Cool & Dre, have a newish collaboration together, “Outta Control”. The track is just over a month old and even with that much time passing, it’s still generating buzz. Originally, the bars were up for debate, particularly on the part of the fiery femcee. “They said I shot a friend over a band, and? / Imagine what I’d do to a b**** that I can’t stand / Right now, I’m on the edge, so don’t push me“. If you aren’t familiar that first line is a real-life reference to when Remy shot Makeda Barnes-Joseph back in 2007. This led to her receiving convictions of assault, possession of an illegal weapon, and attempted coercion in 2008.

Listeners were in an uproar and wondering why she chose to rap about that with such braggadocio. In addition, the July 12 cut was also getting the community talking because of the name she used in the writing credits. Instead of attributing her work to Remy Mackie, one that Remy’s been using since marrying Papoose in ’08, “Outta Control” was penned by Remy Kioni Smith. That would happen to be her maiden name, further suggesting that her and the fellow NY MC were done.

Watch Remy Ma & Fat Joe’s Music Video For “Outta Control”

As we said earlier, the single is not done in terms of sparking more talk on the internet. According to HipHopDX, the music video dropped, and, in the visuals, Remy Ma and her longtime collaborator are going topless. For Joe Crack, the reception might not be as favorable, but for Ms. Ma, she may have some men googly eyed. All that is covering her chest is her long black hair and the video isn’t shy about showing several shots of this “outfit”. You can check out the visuals for yourself with the link above.

What are your thoughts on Remy Ma going topless for the “Outta Control” music video? Is this surprising to you at all, why or why not? Is this song in your current rotation? Blueface & Jaidyn Alexis Channel Chrisean Rock In New “Mommiana” Music Video

Since Blueface turned himself in for a probation violation back in January, fans haven’t heard much from the mother of his first two kids, Jaidyn Alexis. The rapper appears to have rekindled his romance with the mother of his third child Chrisean Rock, who’s also behind bars, instead. Earlier this month, he was handed a four-year prison sentence, but it doesn’t seem to have gotten in the way of Jaidyn’s musical career.

Today, she unveiled her new song “Mommiana” alongside an accompanying music video. The video was shared on YouTube via Blueface’s channel, and he shared a promotional snippet from it earlier today. Interestingly enough, he plays the role of a football player in the video and she plays a cheerleader. It’s unclear whether or not this was a direct nod to Chrisean’s endeavors in football, but fans certainly have their suspicions.

Jaidyn Alexis Delivers Another Lively Single

At the end of the video, Jaidyn calls for Blueface’s release. It was previously unclear where the two of them stood considering his reunion with Chrisean, but this appears to confirm that they’re on good terms. The song itself is reminiscent of Jaidyn’s other work like “Barbie,” featuring playful bars and backing vocals from Blueface. Fans are glad to see Jaidyn get back to her music, as it’s been several months since she’s dropped anything new.

In an Instagram Live after Blueface’s sentence was revealed, she clarified that while she’s not happy he’s away from their family for the time being, she still has to work to provide for them. “Sometimes y’all piss me off,” she explained. “How you so happy? B***h, I’m workin’. This is work. Talkin’ about I’m happy. You disgust me. Someone’s gotta do it … Sometimes I think y’all don’t realize that real life happens in real-time. And sometimes y’all d*mb as f**k. No shade at all.” What do you think of Jaidyn Alexis dropping a new track amid Blueface’s prison stay? What about her football-themed music video?
