Royce Da 5’9″ Reveals Grudge Over Kanye West & Big Sean Upstaging Slaughterhouse

During a recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, Royce Da 5’9″ spoke to its titular host about their rap group Slaughterhouse’s time at SXSW in 2012. They performed for S.O.B.’s 30th anniversary party and were the last show of the night with a lineup that also included 2 Chainz, Machine Gun Kelly, and Big Sean. The latter, Royce’s fellow Detroit MC, brought out Ye to perform “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” and the crowd went ballistic. Now, Joe and his Slaughterhouse partner recalled how they felt when the G.O.O.D. Music duo (at the time) upstaged them and killed a lot of hype for their performance with something grander that came right before in the form of the Chicago artist.

“I’m still mad at [Ye] about that,” Royce Da 5’9″ shared on the podcast, although not in an overtly serious or combative tone. Him and Joe Budden got around to talking about it when the latter brought it up, and Budden even joked about still having nightmares about it. “I’m mad at Big Sean too,” the podcast’s special guest continued. “He’s the one who brought him out. He was on stage. He f***ing showed me, I’ll tell you that.” For what it’s worth, neither artist seems to hold any true animosity for the Yeezy mogul.

Their conversation around Big Sean, Ye, and SXSW begins at the two-hour, 14-minute, and 30-second mark (2:14:30).

“Big Sean was up at SXSW, Slaughterhouse was closing… Why?!” Joe Budden told Royce Da 5’9”. “Man, we back there doing our little Slaughterhouse chant. ‘All hands in the middle! Slaughterhouse on three! One, two, three!’ Then from the stage, [we heard], ‘La, la, la, la, wait ’til I get my money right.’ Everybody’s like, ‘Ahhh!’ I said, ‘Give me my hand! I ain’t f***ing with y’all! Y’all cr*zy as hell!’ By the time we went up there, it ain’t look like the same crowd. I was tight.”

Mary J. Blige recently appeared on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna for a deep, enlightening, and pretty tender conversation about her life, career, and growth. Of course, they had a lot of great things to talk about concerning her artistry and her many accolades and successful ventures over the years. But even the most acclaimed and commercially dominant artists can struggle with reckoning with the exaggerated expectations that others, or themselves, set upon them. Moreover, the “Real Love” legend spoke to the program about how she didn’t like her voice before, and how she’s struggled with self-image throughout her life and continues to embrace herself today.

“I do now, I didn’t used to. I didn’t like the sound of my voice,” Mary J. Blige told the panel during her recent appearance on national television. “But now I listen to my music and now I love everything about me, I do. I used to hate everything about me. The sound of my voice, the sound of my speaking voice. And I used to just be afraid to hear any music back. We grow up thinking we couldn’t boast or brag or love on ourselves, and now I’m doing all that.”

For instance, there are some people who think it was Kelsey who shot the gun. Moreover, some say there is a video of the incident that could be beneficial to Tory’s legal team.

Well, Kelsey Nicole has been talking about all of it with The Danza Project. Her highly-publicized interview is now making the rounds, and there is a lot to unpack. For instance, during the interview, Nicole claims she was betrayed by Meg. Furthermore, there is a point in the podcast where she says that she helped make Meg’s career. While on campus together, Kelsey recorded Meg rapping and was the one to edit the video and upload it to YouTube. From there, Meg went viral, and Nicole believes without her belief in the rapper, Meg wouldn’t have gotten to where she is now.

Ice Spice Speaks On Nicki Minaj Taking “Princess Diana” To New Commercial Heights

Much like many other femcees of the contemporary era, Ice Spice sees Nicki Minaj as a massive point of inspiration. Their strong collaborative bond is well-documented at this point, and fans only hope that their story together isn’t over yet. Regardless, the Bronx MC has a lot to look forward to this year, such as her next album and more promo, media, and partnership opportunities than ever. But she took some time during a recent Billboard interview to shout out some unexpected and underrated bangers of hers. The 24-year-old remarked that “Princess Diana” was her favorite hit of 2023, but that she was disappointed that it didn’t chart -– until Roman stepped in.

“’Princess Diana’ with Nicki [was my favorite hit of the year],” Ice Spice remarked to the publication. “Because I felt like ‘Princess Diana’ was already my best song on [Like…?]. But then it didn’t chart or anything until Nicki got on it. I was just so happy to have both of those worlds where I felt like it was culturally a great song, but also it charted. And then I had my dream collab fulfilled at the same time.”

You might think that such a question would only focus on the positive ones, but she feels like she deserves a bit more love for one particular song. “I thought that ‘Actin a Smoochie’ would be a bigger song,” the 2024 Grammy nominee conceded. “Every time I hear it, I’m just gagged that it’s not bigger. [But] ‘Boy’s a liar, Pt. 2,’ I never thought that song would be as big as it is. I knew it would be a big moment, but I didn’t think it would be triple-platinum.”

Boosie Badazz and NBA YoungBoy have spent almost two years without really following up on their beef, and apparently it’s for good reason. Moreover, for those unaware, the two Baton Rouge, Louisiana natives dissed each other back in 2022, and it seemingly came out of nowhere. In the nearly two-year span since, many folks wondered what happened with this feud and whether it came to a private resolution. Well, that’s kind of what Boosie suggested during a recent sit-down with Cam Capone News. YB came up as a subject of discussion, and fans waiting for an answer now have a vague but curious one.

“Joe Budden went viral for saying YoungBoy’s music is trash,” the interviewer remarked to Boosie Badazz. “I don’t really want to comment on that s**t, you know?” he replied. “I don’t really want to comment on that s**t. Me and YB got an understanding on some s**t right now, you know. I ain’t speaking on him, he ain’t speaking on me. We ain’t really talking about nothing, but… you know. I don’t want to talk about him, he don’t want to talk about me. We gon’ keep it like that.”

Furthermore, this is a pretty curious revelation considering how long it’s been since they spoke on each other’s animosity. In fact, it raises the question of just how long the two have kept up this agreement for, as there’s so much that they could’ve commented on pertaining to each other’s numerous spats in hip-hop. It’s also a bit of gratification for folks who remember their previous collaborative history, because it suggests that they saw that beefing with each other wasn’t going to get them anywhere. Regardless, we probably won’t hear much else about this background if both of them keep their promise to one another.

Meanwhile, the Trill Entertainment affiliate even spoke previously on how his son’s beef with the Never Broke Again leader and Kodak Black actually worries him. As such, this November 2023 statement could be what provoked this truce of sorts, and at the very least shows that he doesn’t want things to get too contentious. Wendy Williams may have thanked fans for their support following her dementia diagnosis, but there’s little other firsthand accounts when it comes to the social media discussion of her situation. Moreover, caregivers, industry peers, and family members are debating who is to blame for the more damaging parts of this situation, and how they should respond. The latest to chime in is the TV host’s former disc jockey, DJ Boof, who spoke to TMZ on Monday (February 26). He shared that no one on the show really knew the extent of her illness, and that it’s best for her to be with her family.

“I don’t think no one knew exactly to the extent [of] how bad it was,” DJ Boof said of Wendy Williams. “I felt like people knew something was up with her. But they didn’t really know. I knew it because I’ve been around it, you know? It’s sad to see something like that happen to her. You know, she needs help. I speak to Wendy. You know, I don’t know if [the family] speak as much as I do. But last time I spoke to her was probably, like, about a month ago.

“I don’t think it’s her not keeping them in the loop,” Wendy Williams’ former co-worker continued. “I think it could be the guardianship that’s not letting them know exactly what’s going on. You know, I’ve [been] with this woman for 12 years, so I’ve seen it all, you know? We had a relationship outside of the show that most people don’t have.

Kanye West Claims He’s From Mars And Gives NSFW Answer About His Favorite Meal

Kanye West is back in Europe this week. He traveled around the continent last summer with his wife Bianca Censori where he got in trouble numerous times. The pair are have returned to Italy this week primarily for two listening parties for West and Ty Dolla $ign’s new album VULTURES 1. But while there, the pair hit up a fashion show in Milan. Much of the attention was first directed at Censori’s characteristically scant outfit. But now, a video of West being interviewed during the event is making the rounds online.

As he does in almost every interview nowadays, West says some bizarre things. It starts out when he introduces himself, which includes an off-handed claim that he’s from Mars. He then gives a tour of his entire fit which is head to toe with notable pieces. The final 30 seconds of the interview are a series of seemingly unrelated questions, all of which West seems happy to answer. Kanye West hosted some similar listening parties in Chicago earlier this month. The shows were controversial right away for some of the lyrics in his songs as well as samples of Donna Summer and Black Sabbath songs he didn’t get properly cleared. Drake Shows Collaborator Nickelus F Love After Interview Praise

While there’s nobody in the rap game that can touch him right now in terms of sales, he has had his cred called into question more than once. Most notably, last month Yasiin Bey was asked about his music in an interview. he described the “First Person Shooter” rapper’s sound as being more pop than rap because it’s the kind of thing you’d hear while shopping. That sparked a few responses from Drake and his fans and ultimately resulted in an apology from Bey.

During a recent interview, one of his oldest collaborators was asked about the now massive rapper. Nickelus F worked with Drizzy on mixtapes before he was ever famous and was asked about the rapper’s pen game. He answers claiming that the writing is still “sharp.” Clearly Drake appreciated the compliment and still has a fondness for the work he made with Nickelus because he left a comment on the post. “Forever one of my idols” his comment reads to the tune of more than 500 likes since it was first posted yesterday. Fans are still streaming For All The Dogs and it’s companion EP Scary Hours 3 quite a bit. Numerous songs from the projects are still hovering on the Hot 100. Drake just released the music video for his Sexyy Red and SZA collab “Rich Baby Daddy.” The music video played off of Red’s real life pregnancy. It used a found footage style where the collaborators posed as a family and reacted in real time to Red’s water breaking. The video ends with a hilarious sequence of Red and SZA dancing with her newborn baby. The video has racked up more than 7.5 million views since it dropped last week.

The project was called New Blue Sun but was met with divided reactions from fans. The project was an indulgence into ambient jazz music that prominently featured Andre playing flute and had “no bars.”

Fugees Reunion Tour Will Continue In 2024, Wyclef Jean Claims

Wyclef Jean recently sat down for a new interview with AllHipHop, and he had a lot of different topics to talk about. One of these is his own musical endeavors and next career moves, but he also spoke on the Fugees’ postponed reunion tour shows and whether they’ll hit the road together again. Of course, the Haitian legend’s word is not super-solid confirmation of this, because we can’t really know for sure until the dates are set in stone. But we’re very excited about this trek still being in the cards for the group members. Not only that, but the 54-year-old also teased future collaborations with another hip-hop superstar.

“I would say to everybody we’re picking back up on the Fugees tour this year,” Wyclef Jean posited, who recently released the financially conscious single “Paper Right.” “If you missed the Fugees last year, catch the Fugees this year. Another big thing I’m excited about is my Netflix movie called Prince of Port au Prince, which is based on my childhood and how I escaped poverty through imagination, so look out for that. That’s going to be amazing. Me and Lil Wayne, we’re in the studio working on some secret, cool music. So, yeah, a lot of good things to look out for in 2024. We’re coming for sure. One hundred percent.”

In fact, it’s curious that Wyclef Jean mentioned these Lil Wayne collabs, because he seems really tight with the Fugees as a whole. He even freestyled onstage with them and performed “A Milli” during a November show, and even other rappers couldn’t help but express shock and awe. The Game remarked that this performance gave him chills, and a lot of fans who caught it in person or online seemed to agree. Hopefully there are even more great moments like these for these supposedly upcoming shows.

Meanwhile, this reunion tour falls under some bizarre context thanks to member Pras’ legal troubles as of late.
