Peysoh Follows Up On Kendrick Lamar Feature With “Peysoh Did It” EP

With Kendrick Lamar’s new project GNX, there was a huge emphasis on embodying the West Coast sound and then some. Overall, it did a great job at doing this sonically and visually, with the features helping out a great deal as well. K. Dot is extremely tapped in as we all know, and it showed once again on GNX. Artists like Lefty Gunplay, Hitta J3, AzChike, and now Peysoh, have been doing a wonderous job themselves. It goes for getting those features but capitalizing on them too. While they are known within West Coast circles, they weren’t really getting the same exposure until last month. Now, outlets and fans are starting to check out their material and there’s evidence to back that up.

The talent has been discovered and now it’s just a matter of building on that momentum. Peysoh, as we said, is taking those steps as we speak. He did so this weekend by leaving off a new five-song EP, Peysoh Did It. It’s a fitting title given the year he’s having due in part to the Kendrick collab. But he’s showing that he’s also a lot more than some sidekick. Peysoh has a murderous and cutthroat tone to his music and its prevalent on this new collection of solo tracks. Fans and other major artists have been backing these songs so far, and we are more than fine joining the hype train. See what Peysoh provides on Peysoh Did It, by checking out the streaming platform links below.

Dom Corleo Follows Up Sophomore Album With Four-Track EP “DC”

Dom Corleo has been satisfying fans all throughout 2024. The Fremont, California talent has mostly been riding solo for most of these 12 months too, making his run all the more impressive. A couple of singles got the ball rolling for him, particularly “duh duh duh,” one of his only joint records. He grabbed Detroit MC Veeze for that one, and the playful energy, particularly from the instrumental, sealed the deal for a lot of fans. That track would go on to be one of a few promotional singles for his eventual sophomore album. Under My Influence was the name and it landed in September and a lot of folks quickly fell in love with it. It’s grown a nice cult following and it’s carried a nice wave of momentum for the 22-year-old.

So much so, that Dom Corleo has just come by with some more music to wrap up a banner year. This time, he’s dropping of a four-song self-titled EP, DC. On the album, he was presenting different soundscapes and even doing a bit of storytelling and opening up. But here, it seems he was just looking to give the listeners some hype cuts to get energized from. Right away, you are hit with more trap-like beats and Auto-Tuned rapping, which is something that he does with frequent collaborators like KILLY, for example. So, if you are into that type of music from Dom Corleo, then you will definitely enjoy the looser and more carefree cuts he’s bringing here. You can check out DC with the links down below.

Yasiin Bey To Return With “Money Christmas” EP On Bandcamp

Yasiin Bey, one of the most elusive rappers of our time, is back… sort of. The Brooklyn MC formerly known as Mos Def is hitting fans with a bit of a curveball, which he’s been accustomed to doing now for the last several years. Recently, the Black Star artist made a big announcement to his Instagram page regarding a listening experience of sorts. “ASIIN BEY PRESENTS ‘MONEY CHRISTMAS’. LIVE STREAM PERFORMANCE EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE ON BANDCAMP. WHATEVER YOU THINK IT IS … IT’S NOT THAT,” He begins. “LIVE STREAM SUNDAY DECEMBER 15TH AT 8.00PM CET / 7.00PM GMT / 2.00PM EST / 11.00AM PST BROADCAST GLOBALLY.” This Money Christmas he’s referring to is what’s being billed as an EP.

For those wondering, tickets for the event were $7.99. He’s taking the songs he performed during this livestream and putting all of them onto this project. Of course, they are going to be mixed and mastered for everyone’s listening pleasure. Bey did say that the concert was still going to be available to watch for 48 hours after its conclusion. However, it’s nowhere to be found. According to Consequence Sound, “24-48 hours after the performance” the actual tape can be bought. So far though, Yasiin Bey has not shared Money Christmas on Bandcamp, the only place to hear it. Instead, it just says to pre-order for $9.99. With that said, that means there isn’t any information on the songs in any capacity. Hopefully, fans will be able to get their hands on it by sometime tonight or no later than Tuesday.

DDG Recruits Tory Lanez & Real Boston Richey For His “Handling Business” EP

This weekend has been another eventful one for DDG. Not everything has been peachy keen, though. The Michigan rapper and YouTuber has been tied up in some more controversy surrounding Halle Bailey, in part anyway. He appeared on plaqueboymax’s livestream recently, and during their link-up, he was asked who his favorite ex-girlfriend was. They were doing a Q&A segment called “Dry Ones” where if you didn’t answer your question, you would have to eat a biscuit. He decided to play along and say his best ex “besides family,” meaning Halle Bailey, was a girl whose name started with a “K.” However, only the latter part of his answer got clipped by gossip outlets and it led him to call them out for creating a false narrative.

So, yes, it’s been another bump in the road for DDG, but he’s looking to move past it all with some new music. This time around, he’s here with HANDLING BUSINESS, a new four-track ep which includes a past release with Real Boston Richey, “WHAT U BAD FOR.” It also contains the title track, featuring a fresh verse recorded by Tory Lanez from his prison cell. It’s been the cut that’s been the most talked about for that reason, but also because some of his bars on his fiery and candid verse. If you want a more in-depth breakdown of it, check out this link, and this one. Additionally, there’s two moodier solo cuts “HANDS IN THE AIR” and “REASON.” Hit up the streaming embeds below to see what DDG is putting down.

Yhapojj Drops Off Precursing EP “Before T.L.Y.”

Yhapojj is maintaining quite a strong work ethic this year since coming onto the rap scene back in 2020 with freestyles. The Huntsville, Alabama native, known for his unconventional auto-tuned delivery and off-beat rapping, has been busy pumping out projects left and right. As of this weekend, Yhapojj has increased that total to four with the release of Before T.L.Y. It’s more of an EP/mixtape, and according to Pitchfork, it’s a big wink to the camera. Very soon, Yhapo will be dropping an album called Thanks Li Yhap. When it will arrive remains a mystery, but for now, fans are enjoying what he’s laying down on Before T.L.Y.

Most of his charm comes from those attributes we mentioned a second ago. However, in the case of this mixtape, Yhapojj sounds mostly incoherent. His biggest draw is more of a detriment, and it makes most of the listening experience frustrating and disheartening. What keeps things interesting is the production, which flirts with trap, underground, and maybe even a little hyperpop. But the vocals are what really hurt the project, especially some of the adlibs. Yhapo’s “yuh” is over most of the record and sometimes he draws it out way too long to the point where his verses sound even more jumbled. Hopefully, Thanks Li Yhap will be an improvement. Still, though, give Before T.L.Y., featuring Benji Blue Bills, Nino Paid, and more, a try with the streaming links below.

Tyga Showcases His Best Talents On “Don’t Be Fooled” Two-Pack

Throughout Tyga’s career, we have been able to pick up on his strengths and weaknesses. He’s not going to blow your mind with his pen. However, he does know how to put together some sticky lines, though. But where he really shines is in the melody and instrumental departments. The ears for those vital factors of any good song are on full display on Tyga’s new songs “Don’t Be Fooled” and “Mmphh.” Both land on a two-pack named after the former and they arrive during a nice little stretch for the California rapper.

For “Don’t Be Fooled,” Tyga and d.a got that dope create an earworm through an addicting drum pattern and haunting string sections. His flows on the track are perfectly in sync with tempo of the track, making it a catchy listen through and through. Additionally, it’s got a braggadocious vibe, as the “Taste” MC reminds everyone to not take him lightly. Then, on “Mmphh,” the themes remain the same, but there’s a shift in the sounds. A flute enters the fray, and it fits snuggly into the mix. In addition, Tyga’s delivery is lively and a little playful. Overall, it sounds like he was having fun in the studio when putting these tracks together.

Brother Ali Previews 2025 Album With Five-Track “Satisfied Soul EP”

Brother Ali has shown time and time again why he’s maintained such a long and prosperous career. The Madison, Wisconsin born rapper, activist, and community leader is getting to prove that pretty soon, specifically on February 14, 2025. That is the release date of Brother Ali’s next endeavor, Satisfied Soul. It’s available for pre-save on Apple Music and it’s going to consist of 17 tracks. Additionally, some other information we have available, courtesy of Stereogum, is that the album will be mostly produced by Ant. if you aren’t familiar with him, he’s known for his time as the other half of Minnesota hip-hop duo, Atmosphere. He works alongside fellow underground MC Slug. They are still going as well and have been since the late 90s.

Ali has always been one to muse and speak honestly about the issues existing in the world. In addition, he also manages to effectively communicate with his audience about emotions and philosophical questions. That’s helped by his voice, which always commands attention thanks how booming it is and how articulate he can be. It makes you want to think and question things he talks about, so the listener is always reaping the benefits when they truly try to understand what he’s conveying. Folks were surely have a lot to take out of these five tracks that are out to promote the album. Something that has our interest, outside of the uplifting and contemplative messages is the production. There’s a diverse set of live instrumentation and it’s put together well. Check out Ali’s new EP with the links below.

Benji. Turns The “Love Gun” Series Into A Trilogy With The Final Entry

Benji. is one our favorite talents from the Spillage Village crew thanks to his stunning voice. No matter what sort of track he hops on, you can almost guarantee that he’s going to deliver on his end. A great example of this is “Bobby Boucher,” arguably the group’s catchiest banger. Why it’s not a captivating vocal display, his ability to match a vibe of song like this one is pretty incredible. The cockiness is heavy and Benji. manages to put on a cool, calm, and collected persona with tons of personality. On top of that, he produced the track, making him that much more of star. This weekend though, we are talking exclusively about Benji. instead of the gang because his new EP, Love Gun 3, is here.

This is a series that the Pittsburgh born artist has been eyeing on completing and he’s getting to fulfill that promise to himself here. The trilogy kicked off in October of last year, with the second entry actually landing in July of this year. Benji. said farewell to the Love Gun era on social media, expressing gratuity for being able to bring his ideas to life. However, the now GRAMMY nominated act is looking toward what’s next. “Last but not least, Love Gun 3 🎸❤ out & available EVERYWHERE! Happy and proud to bring this trilogy to a close and excited for what lies ahead!” We are too Benji. and we are loving the EP as well. Let us know what you think by submitting your thoughts in the comments below.

Glokk40Spaz Drops Off “Slaughter House Recordz” EP In The Spirit Of Halloween

Glokk40Spaz is back again for another project and he’s flirting with flat-out horrorcore on Slaughter House Recordz. The Decatur, Georgia native certainly delivers on what the title alludes to, delivering nothing but murderous trap bangers for seven tracks. If this was made with the spirit of Halloween in mind, we wouldn’t doubt Glokk’s vision one bit. The first cut, “Welcome 2 Da Slaughter” flips the classic score from the first Halloween film for good measure to put anyone questioning the inspiration for this EP. Speaking of this being an extended play, Genius says this is his first one of his career. As we mentioned earlier, this yet another project for the 21-year-old, and to be specific, it’s his fourth.

The first was actually a deluxe of his most recent tape from 2023, Took The Biggest Risk. Glokk40Spaz added nine more songs including two collaborations with Young Nudy and OsamaSon. He wouldn’t be done working with the latter, though, as they would go on to work together for a full project in May, 3vil Reflection. Then, Glokk would go back to his solo catalog and deliver Da Real Oso. Interestingly, there was going to be another deluxe on the way for 2024 for the aforementioned tape. However, due to pesky leaks, he was forced to scrap the idea. That’s how Slaughter House Recordz was born, but Glokk was able to salvage at least one Da Real Oso recording. “3rd Day Out” managed to find a home and we are grateful that he was able to find a loophole and still fulfill his hungry fans’ request for more music.

Vory Asks “Who Don’t Like Me” On Latest Three-Song EP

Vory has had quite the career. In 2015, at age 17, he co-wrote Bryson Tiller’s hit single “Don’t.” In 2018, he won a Grammy Award for his work on The Carters’ (Beyonce and Jay-Z) album, Everything Is Love. The same year, he co-wrote Drake’s track “Mob Ties,” which appeared on his album Scorpion. He also signed to Capitol Records, releasing Lucky Me, his debut EP, after a couple of years of releasing singles independently. In 2021, he worked with Kanye West on Donda, Ye’s tenth studio album. After that, he released Lost Souls, his debut album, after signing with Dream Chasers and Universal Music Group following a departure from Capitol. The album also featured Ye and others.

Now, Vory is once again an independent artist, and it seems that he’s loving the life away from a record label. Who Don’t Like Me is the Louisville rapper/singer’s latest EP. The title track feels like he’s lifting the stress from being signed to a major label off his shoulders, talking about how he doesn’t care who likes him at this point. “Blood Money,” featuring Tracy T, is an understated track, with some impressive bass and a self-assured flow from Vory. The three tracks show off his blend of talents, talents that allowed him to work on music by some of the biggest names hip-hop and R&B have to offer. Musically, the EP goes from an anthemic trap-oriented banger to more R&B-focused, similar to a track by the aforementioned Bryson Tiller. At only three tracks and less than ten minutes, it is a quick listen by an underrated artist. Check out Who Don’t Like Me below.
