ScHoolboy Q & Ab-Soul Have A Fan-Favorite With “Foux”

ScHoolboy Q has finally given us BLUE LIPS and we are very pleased to say that it has delivered and then some. The California rapper almost always seems to be at his peak when he experiments with instrumentals, cadences, lyrics, and flows. Q does that throughout the duration of the LP and you can definitely tell five years were needed to craft this body of work. While it may not be for everyone, there is no doubt that this project was worth the wait. One highlight we had to cover is ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul’s “Foux.”

This one of the more introspective cuts here, as it sees each TDE talent dealing with internal struggles. Q’s hook is infectious but also quite gloomy. He quickly raps over the scattering drum patterns, howling background vocals, and somber piano keys. Incredibly, outside of some Black Hippy cuts, this the first time we have heard Q and Ab-Soul on a song together since 2012 with “Druggys Wit H**s Again.”

Listen To “Foux” By ScHoolboy Q & Ab-Soul

In fact, ScHoolboy references the first of those two songs, “Druggy’s Wit H**s.” That landed on his debut, Setbacks, and you can hear the callback on the bridge. Ab-Soul does not disappoint either. “Shot for the moon, now I need my gat
Cocaine is a hell of a drug / And my year been Heaven above / But ’nuff is just never enough / I’m stuck when I should be levelin’ up
.”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Foux,” by ScHoolboy Q? Is this the best track from BLUE LIPS, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Is this the album of the year so far, why or why not? Who had the stronger performance? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. DaeMoney Nabs LUCKI & Veeze For Dreamy “JAPANESE DENIM”

Veeze and LUCKI have been tearing things up lately in the rap game. Their idiosyncratic and mumbly styles have captivated fans as their legends continue to grow. However, there is another kid on the block that is starting to earn his stripes similar to these two. That artist goes by DaeMoney and like Veeze, he also hails from the blue-collar city of Detroit. Today, he makes his debut on the site and what better way than to do it by collaborating with the aforementioned stars. Additionally, DaeMoney’s “JAPANESE DENIM” lands on his new album.

This is not the first time that Dae and Veeze have worked together. You can also check out tracks such as “Gta,” which also has LUCKI, “Who Is That?” and “Fingers Crossed.” DaeMoney’s “JAPANESE DENIM” is a whimsical and hazy cut that sees each rapper flexing. If you are not familiar, Japenese-stitched denim is very expensive due to the way its made on top of the high-end materials used.

Rihanna Shuts Down New Album Questions On Instagram Live

Rihanna is making it clear she’s not here for the questions. During a recent Instagram Live session, she showcased her fiery spirit when it comes to dealing with fans’ incessant demands for her upcoming album. In a classic RiRi fashion, she shut down the noise with a message that was both cool and candid. During the live session following her fiery performance in India, Rih, alongside a friend, took a moment to address the relentless clamor from fans eagerly awaiting her next musical masterpiece. With a mix of exasperation and humor, she urged her followers to take a chill pill, emphasizing, “Guys just relax, just be cool.”

Rihanna’s unapologetic demeanor serves as a reminder that artists are more than their creative output. They’re human beings with lives, passions, and priorities beyond the studio. So while the world eagerly awaits Rihanna’s next musical offering, let’s heed her advice and chill out in the meantime. However, recently, Rocky was overheard reassuring a fan who was eager to know when Rihanna would be releasing new music, stating, “She’s working on it.” Speculation and hearsay regarding Rihanna’s comeback to the music scene have been circulating for quite some time. Moreover, the timing of Rihanna’s appearance in India wasn’t merely coincidental. She graced the celebration of Anant Ambani, the son of one of India’s wealthiest tycoons, alongside his betrothed Radhika Merchant.

Rihanna Is Over The New Music Questions

Rihanna’s presence added an extra layer of grandeur to the already lavish affair. Reports suggest that Rihanna’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, featuring a medley of her chart-topping hits. However, such excellence comes at a price, and in Rihanna’s case, it’s a hefty one. According to the Daily Mail, the Barbadian songstress commanded a staggering $5 million for her stage time. While some might balk at the astronomical figure, it’s important to put it into perspective. The entire wedding extravaganza reportedly rang up a jaw-dropping bill of $120 million, making Rihanna’s fee seem like a mere drop in the bucket.

Furthermore, RiRi’s willingness to perform at such high-profile events highlights her status not just as a musical icon but also as a symbol of prestige and luxury. Her involvement in the Ambani wedding underscores the global appeal and influence she commands, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. However, amidst the glitz and glamour, Rihanna’s message to her fans resonates strongly. Despite her undeniable star power and the anticipation surrounding her next album, she remains grounded, urging fans to exercise patience and cool their jets.

Fans React To ScHoolboy Q’s New Album “Blue Lips,” AOTY Praise Dominates

After a long five-year-or-so wait, ScHoolboy Q is finally back in the album game with his new offering, Blue Lips. Across 18 songs, 56 minutes, and with the help of eight featured artists across nine guest spots and a wealth of talented producers, he came through with a versatile, vibrant, often messy, but still compelling project. But that’s what this writer thinks; what about die-hards who have also been waiting on new music from the TDE rapper for years? Well, if Twitter is anything to go by, then he definitely found a big hit with audiences with this new record.

Furthermore, many fans compared the “Love Birds” MC’s Blue Lips to previously beloved LPs in his catalog like Oxymoron and Blank Face. However, it’s not much of a comparison, as he reinvents himself in both measured and aggressive spaces on this new album. What’s more is that ScHoolboy Q’s also been very active on social media, responding to praise for the album and providing some wholesome fan interactions. It goes to show an underrated part of the album rollout experience: artists enjoying the process, their craft, and their results as much as the ears they intended to hit.

ScHoolboy Q Gets Fans’ Praise For Blue Lips

Meanwhile, this album also wasn’t without its fair share of eyebrow-raising lyrical moments, the biggest of which (at press time) has nothing to do with ScHoolboy Q. Freddie Gibbs reignited his beef with DJ Akademiks with his feature verse on “oHio,” which had a lot of fans joking around online. It’s nowhere near the most standout part of the lyrical content here, but it’s the most headline-inducing detail listeners have noticed so far in the few hours since Blue Lips‘ release. It will be interesting to see what bar-for-bar breakdowns of this record will yield in the coming days and weeks. Check out more reactions to the project down below.

But enough about Twitter fingers; what did you think of Blue Lips? Do you think that Jay-Z had the same to say about the album when he listened to it or must he have some untapped genius beyond our grasp? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments section down below. Also, keep checking in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on ScHoolboy Q.

Yeat’s “U Should Know” Continues To Win Over Fans With Moody Music Video

Yeat has been someone who has created divisive opinions on himself. The mysterious rapper from Irvine, California has been on a tear over the past and a half or so with his signature psychedelic take on trap. His mixture of that along with rage music have garnered some mixed reactions to his material. However, his most recent release 2093 surprised many, including the mostly hard to impress, Anthony Fantano. He gave it an eight of 10 and fans are on his side with that take. The album is aiming for a number one debut on the Billboard Hot 200 with around 72.6K copies sold. To help celebrate the album, Yeat put out a music video for “U Should Know.”

One of the deeper cuts on the record, it has earned its place as one of the strongest offerings. It is a song all about not caring about anyone’s opinion and going at life alone. The atmosphere and lyrics of “U Should Know” perfectly suit Yeat’s persona and music. You can check the well-matched music video below.

It feels very Travis Scott-esque with its dark color palette and hints of neon. The Asian sports car inclusion adds to that similarity of the visuals for La Flame’s “Antidote.” That video included a Hyundai Genesis coupe, while “U Should Know” includes an older Nissan GT-R. The visuals are a hit with fans as well, with over 700,000 views.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new music video for “U Should Know” by Yeat? Is this one of his best performances on a track as of late, why or why not? What was your favorite element of the song and why? Did he turn you into a fan after dropping 2093? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. SZA, Isaiah Rashad, And More React To ScHoolboy Q Playing His New Album For Jay-Z

Earlier this year, Top Dawg Entertainment promised that it would be a big year for the label with new songs from almost all of their artists. That year is getting underway soon when ScHoolboy Q releases Blue Lips. It’s his first album since 2019’s CrasH Talk and fans are already loving the single he’s shared. He even got to play the record for Jay-Z when the pair recently crossed met up. Punch from TDE shared some pictures of the meeting to social media. And it was there where some of ScHoolboy Q’s labelmates like SZA and Isaiah Rashad has a field day.

“Played Q album for a couple good fellas. Blue Lips is out March 1. Ps I’m never wearing hard pants again. Hammer was in to something,” Punch captioned the post while making a joke about his own outfit. SZA pulled up in the comments right away with the jokes. “This is Sexism !!! I ain’t never played a LICK for Jigga 😂” her comment begins. But clearly it was all love as she went on to say “y’all look niiiice or whatever 😩🙄🥺😢🫶🏾💗.” Isaiah Rashad also got in on the fun making his own jokes about Punch’s pants. “The pants reflect the zen” his comment reads. Check out the post and all the comments reacting to it below.

Chevy Woods Takes A Time Machine Back To “1998” On His New Album

Chevy Woods has mostly been tied to Wiz Khalifa for the duration of his career. The two have collaborated many times before and it makes sense seeing as he is a Taylor Gang signee. The veteran MC is someone you go to for laid back raps and he is doing more of the same on his latest effort. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania spitter recently came by with his fourth project since the start of the 2020 decade. Chevy Woods’ 1998 is a concise 13-song listen with a handful of features.

If you take a peek at the tracklist, you will notice the titles evoke a certain time period. Sports fans were certainly pick up on the fact that these tracks call back to the time in which Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls would go on to win their last championship. It was also the end of their second three peat proving that even on wearier legs Jordan and the gang were able to succeed.

ScHoolboy Q Unveils “Blue Lips” Tracklist & Features

Blue Lips is almost here, and ahead of its release this Friday (March 1), ScHoolboy Q wanted to give us one more treat to hype us up. Moreover, he just revealed the updated tracklist for the album. It comprises of 18 tracks and nine feature performances between eight special guests. These are Rico Nasty on the second track “Pop,” Devin Malik and Lance Skiiwalker on the sixth track “Love Birds,” AZ Chike on the seventh track “Movie,” Freddie Gibbs on the ninth track “OHio,” Ab-Soul on the tenth track “Foux,” Devin Malik again on the thirteenth track “Back N Love,” Jozzy on the fourteenth track “Lost Times,” and Childish Major on the seventeenth track “Pig Feet.”

Of course, there is one particular name on here that fans will probably recognize thanks to the TDE MC’s previous praise of it. Freddie Gibbs is having a killer 2024 so far, and many hope that his feature here is even better than his appearance on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s 2024 album Vultures 1 with “Back To Me.” In fact, ScHoolboy Q admitted that the Indiana MC bested him on this track, and we hope that it was a close race. After all, they’re both incredible lyricists with so much charisma and a wealth of experience and skill. Fortunately, it seems like everyone else here will also provide some amazing art.

ScHoolboy Q Plays Jay-Z His New Album “Blue Lips” Ahead Of Release This Week

ScHoolboy Q is dropping his highly-anticipated new album Blue Lips this Friday (March 1), and he and fans just found yet another reason to be super excited for it. Moreover, you may recall that he shared this jitteriness with Twitter recently, expressing wishes to play this album for Jay-Z. Well, it looks like hip-hop Twitter did its thing and made it happen, because Hov and the TDE MC posed for some pictures online and the latter confirmed that he was able to fulfill his wish. “HipHop twitter actually came tHru, played Hov tHe album,” he tweeted on Monday (February 26).

“I lokey Hate HipHop Twitter, tHey looked out tHo so I love em again,” ScHoolboy Q expressed jokingly in a follow-up tweet. In fact, he even specifically shouted out Joey from @gothamhiphop for posting the tweet that got Jay-Z’s attention. Even though the California native doesn’t want a Bobbi Althoff interview, it’s nice to see that he was able to manifest the meetings that he actually wanted. All in all, this really builds up even more anticipation for Blue Lips, and sets it up as one of 2024’s biggest music moments.

ScHoolboy Q & Jay-Z Pose For Post-Blue Lips Listening Pic

Furthermore, looking at ScHoolboy Q’s past comments on Jay-Z, this admiration is understandable. “Nas is my favorite rapper. I also think Jay-Z is the best rapper to ever rap,” he said back in a 2013 interview. “Just because he’s at his age and what he’s doing and he still is relevant. He’s been doing it for years and [he’s] consistent.” “Honestly, I think Jay-Z won [the Nas beef],” Q told VladTV around the same time. “I mean, Nas is my favorite rapper, but Jay-Z, he was pretty scandalous.

“Jay is the best rapper and everybody don’t wanna believe that,” he added. “Jay, even though Nas is my favorite, Jay is like LeBron, Kobe, Jordan, people just wanna say no or hate. He’s so good you got to hate him.” We can only wonder what the Roc Nation leader thought of the “Cooties” MC’s new record.
