Estee Nack & Producer Boneweso Drop Off Collab Tape “SYSTEMATICALLY WE WERE NEVER FREE” On Bandcamp

The East Coast underground scene is back with a new and intriguing release for hardcore hip-hop heads. Two Massachusetts artists, Estee Nack and Boneweso are here with a collaborative album, SYSTEMATICALLY WE WERE NEVER FREE. Estee Nack flourishes as a rapper and a vocalist, whereas Boneweso is spitter and beat maker. The latter is not originally from the states, nor is his main background hip-hop. According to Genius, he is more well-known for his Dominican Republic roots. He has worked in the lanes of reggaeton, salsa, bachata, and Latin music.

However, his profile does mention that he has some trap rap experience, so there is that. But clearly Estee and Boneweso have developed some chemistry and respect since the producer moved. As for Nack, he might be known by Griselda fans. Westside Gunn is the main man, but he has also been seen with Nicholas Craven, too.

Ski Mask The Slump God Confirms New Album Coming This Week

It’s about time. Ski Mask the Slump God was part of the Soundcloud generation that broke out in the 2010s. He worked closely with other Florida rappers like XXXTentacion and Denzel Curry, while at the same time carving out his own eccentric lane. His debut album, Stokeley, was a testament to this. The thing is, Stokeley came out in 2018. Fans have waited six years to hear new Ski Mask music. Thankfully, the wait is over. The sophomore album, 11th Dimension, is almost here.

Ski Mask the Slump God dropped an album teaser on June 1. The teaser opens on complete darkness, while an elderly voice asks the rapper where he’s been. Then there’s a hard cut to his face in close up, which is shrouded in darkness. The elderly voice continues to question Ski Mask’s absence. “They are asking where you are,” the voice states. “Asking where you have been.” The rapper then turns his head up, showing that half of his face is scarred. “Said I’m fighting my demons,” he says, before giving us a glimpse of a verse from the album.

Ski Mask The Slump God’s Last Album Dropped In 2018

The most unexpected part of the teaser, however, comes at the tail end. The camera zooms out to show Ski Mask the Slump God sitting on the floor of an empty white room. He can be seen wearing white angel wings, and his arms are tied. Hard cut to the release date, which is June 7. This is a thrilling development for an album that was first announced in 2021. Ski Mask revealed the album title, 11th Dimension, a year later, and there have been two singles released thus far. “Shibuya” dropped in March, and “Headrush” in May.

Ski Mask the Slump God has kept his inspiration behind a secret, but he did tease a dream list of collabs for 11th Dimension back in 2021. “I want to try and have Tyler, the Creator on it,” he told XXL. “I want to try and have Don Toliver, try and have Dominic Fike. He’s somebody I’ve always wanted to work with… I want to try and work with Post [Malone] at least.” There hasn’t been an official tracklist released, so it’s unclear whether Ski Mask was able to secure any of these features for the finished product.

What happens when you combine, comedy, unpredictability, an unconventional rap style, and banging beats? You get New York rapper and eclectic personality, RXKNephew. Ayra Starr Releases Her “Coming-Of-Age Album” “The Year I Turned 21”

Ayra Starr is a budding superstar talent in the world of Afropop. But pigeonholing her to one lane would be disingenuous. The now 21-year-old from Nigeria also navigates in the lanes of R&B, Jamaican dancehall, and so much more. Those are just a few of the sounds you will hear on the sophomore album from Ayra Starr, The Year I Turned 21. “The album is packed and full of different vibes. I like to say it’s a rollercoaster of emotions, so it’s different vibes. I try to ease them into it… It just shows the variety [of the album]”.

That was a part of her conversation with People recently speaking about this LP and what it is all about. “It is a coming-of-age album. It’s very much, I would like to say, the autobiography of a 21-year-old. It’s my life and literally just how I’ve seen life, my experiences and everything”. It is safe to say that this 21-year-old is living a life that many might wish to have. Ayra Starr has put out a plethora of hit songs already, some of which land on this sophomore offering.

Across The Year I Turned 21 you will see why Ayra is getting all of this critical acclaim.

Tha Dogg Pound, Snoop Dogg, The Lady Of Rage, & RBX Make It Tough To Answer “Who Da Hardest?”

Tha Dogg Pound dropped one of the biggest records of the weekend, and maybe the whole year. Their reunion took place on W.A.W.G. (We All We Got), their ninth studio album as a unit. Kurupt and Daz Dillinger also had some help getting this tape out, and they have Snoop Dogg to thank for that. Him and Daz were able to bury the hatchet recently, which is a big reason as to why this thing exists to begin with.

Fans have been providing a lot of positive feedback from what we have seen and there are plenty of factors playing into that. One of them is the collaboration track between Tha Dogg Pound, Snoop, RBX, DJ Premier, and The Lady Of Rage called “Who Da Hardest?”. This behemoth of a song clocks in at a little over five minutes, as each rapper essentially steps up to the mic and delivers their best stuff. It is the perfect closer to tape, as each verse is loaded with bars and great presence overall.

Listen To “Who Da Hardest?” By Tha Dogg Pound, Snoop Dogg, The Lady Of Rage, RBX, & DJ Premier

The rapper that feels feel went “da hardest” is The Lady Of Rage. The longtime spitter, who has collaborated many times with Death Row artists, seems to be crowned the lyrical champion. We really do not have any objection to that pick, especially with the bars she brought. “I wear that crown, bow down
Don’t go provoking, huh / Check how I get down, you know nobody dope as her / Look what the girl blew in, no need for Oprah
“.

What are your thoughts on “Who Da Hardest?” by Tha Dogg Pound, Snoop Dogg, RBX, The Lady Of Rage, and DJ Premier? Is this the best song off of W.A.W.G. (We All We Got), why or why not? Who had the best verse on this track and why? Is this an album of the year contender? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:

My wordplay is bird of prey
Your whole song is just a swan
You will straight to your felon, and lay with a megalodon
So please deliver us from this carnivorous

Vile and villainous, the hard hitter (Ugh)

Homixide Gang Drops New Album “I5U5WE5” Featuring Lil Yachty

Homixide Gang is back with a new album, and it’s as rage-centered and explosive as you’d expect from the Opium duo. Moreover, I5U5WE5 is a nice 14-track effort featuring Lil Yachty on the cut “SIDE EFFExT,” but Homixide Beno! and Homixide Meechie carry the rest of the tracklist entirely on their own. By trading off flows, croons, and energetic ad-libs, they’re able to differentiate themselves pretty effectively on cuts like “R50,” “HI-VOLTAGE,” and many more. However, as much as the Atlanta duo tends to focus more on rage music, there is some variation and new ideas throughout this project that will probably end up being more engaging than their previous records.

Furthermore, this is a pretty solid step forward for Homixide Gang, as I5U5WE5 is their first full-length release under Interscope after affiliating with the Playboi Carti-fronted Opium label some time ago. Beno! and Meechie sound hungry on this, and while their flows and deliveries are nothing out of this world for the most part, they make the album’s flow work quite well all things considered. It’s also much better to see the duo develop themselves in this way rather than, for example, allegedly beefing with Summrs over a jumping incident. Regardless, this new project cements their place in 2024 as a much more fruitful and propelling one than how things were going previously.

Homixide Gang’s I5U5WE5: Stream

Still, there are rumors that Homixide Gang has some other issues to deal with, such as these supposed legal issues leading to the postponement of Playboi Carti and Opium’s “Antagonist” tour. But hopefully that clears up sooner rather than later, as we’re sure that fans are ecstatic to mosh out to I5U5WE5 in the flesh. If you haven’t heard this new album yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check it out with the YouTube player above. MO3’s Estate Keeps His “Legend” Alive On Third Posthumous Album

Melodic Dallas, Texas rapper MO3 was able to effortlessly mix street anthems with a smooth voice to give fans a one-of-a-kind listening experience. However, his life was sadly cut short almost four years ago, after being gunned down in broad daylight. Since his death on November 11, MO3’s estate has made it their mission to give his die-hard supporters a full look behind the curtain as to what he was working on. Today is another one of those days, as the latest MO3 project to land on streaming is now Legend.

This title obviously is looking to show why the multi-hyphenate was so gifted. So, throughout this tightly packed, 14-song project, you are getting a lot of rapping/singing cuts. Perhaps another reason why this tape is out now is because it would have been MO3’s birthday yesterday (May 31), which is when Legend was released. Overall, these songs clearly show that he had plenty of fire tracks waiting to hit platforms.

Dave East Reunites With Close Pals Mike & Keys For Personal LP “APT 6E”

“[Mike & Keys are] 100 percent my sound… They are like, one of the few producers in the game that really just got my sound down pat without really trying”. That is what gritty Harlem, New York rapper told XXL a little over two years ago about how much he adores the Los Angeles based producing duo. The soon-to-be 36-year-old veteran explained that he met the hitmakers through the late Nipsey Hussle and since then, they have grown their chemistry in the studio.

Their first album together, HDIGH (How Did I Get Here), while not released as a Dave/Mike & Keys project, was the one that got it started. Now, they are back once again with APT 6E, an official collaboration album. This record holds a special place in Dave’s heart, as the title is a reference to the apartment where his career really started to take shape. “I think that’s really where life changed for me. That’s where I got my first deal out of that apartment. Nas signed me, I caught the train to Mass Appeal downtown, then I caught the train back to Queens and walked back to my apartment with the deal in my hand”.

Listen To APT 6E By Dave East & Mike & Keys

There a handful of cuts on this 15-song offering that allude to the grind that Dave was on to make it big. One of them is “DOIN GREAT” (one of our favorites), and it sees him talk about always keeping your head high and making small steps toward your goals is in fact great progress. Those “steps” include removing people from your life who are not on the same mission as you and protecting your energy. However, we can fit all of the things we love about this album in one article, so be sure to check out and see what we mean.

What are your thoughts on APT 6E by Dave East and Mike & Keys? What is the best beat here and why? Who had the strongest guest verse? What song did Dave bring his best stuff?
