Future “MIXTAPE PLUTO” Production Credits Revealed

Future released MIXTAPE PLUTO on Friday, his third release of 2024. The mixtape comes after two successful collaborations with Metro Boomin, on WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, respectively. Of course, the former is most known for the track “Like That” with Kendrick Lamar, but it is still a project that received praise from Future fans. Historically, Future is known for working with many producers. Metro has become his most famous collaborator, but fans will fondly remember the days of his old mixtapes, where he worked with 808 Mafia, specifically Atlanta-based producer Southside. Notably, Metro Boomin does not appear at all on the new project’s tracklist.

Southside executive produced MIXTAPE PLUTO, a throwback to a previous era of Future’s career. He previously had an EP credit on 56 Nights, the 2015 mixtape that came in the middle of Future’s most prolific period as an artist. Additionally, he co-produced “TEFLON DON,” “LIL DEMON,” “SKI,” “PRESS THE BUTTON,” “BRAZZIER,” “SOUTH OF FRANCE,” and “MADE MY H*E FAINT.” Wheezy (whose tag is also voiced by Future) makes multiple appearances as well. “MJ” is one of those tracks, an early fan favorite online.

Future’s MIXTAPE PLUTO Production Credits Revealed

Prior to MIXTAPE PLUTO‘s release, Future penned a tribute to his cousin, the late Rico Wade. Wade’s house, whose basement is referred to as “The Dungeon,” is on the cover. Wade, who was part of the famed Organized Noize production collective (itself a part of the larger Dungeon Family collective), helped contribute to the success of OutKast, TLC, and Goodie Mob. He also helped shape Future’s early music. It was a touching tribute to one of the most influential producers in hip-hop history. The Alchemist Continues His Prolific 2024 With “The Genuine Articulate”

At this point, there really isn’t much more to say about the career of The Alchemist. The California producer and rapper has become one of the most impactful beatmakers of this generation. He’s always had the secret sauce that a lot of others have tried to recreate at a similar level. However, Uncle Al manages to stand above the rest even decades in. 2024 has been another one of those nonstop years for him, as he has been lending his skills to multiple other artists. Big Sean, A$AP Rocky and J. Cole, Big Hit and Hit-Boy, and Oh No and Gangrene, are just a few names to list off. Sadly, we aren’t able to include Eminem after fans were left astray after the trailer for the Expanded Mourner’s Edition included an Al cameo.

We are going to continue to pray for that to happen, but for now, we have another new tape to discuss. For The Genuine Articulate, The Alchemist is putting himself in the spotlight. This just one of a few times where he’s providing bars on every cut. In this case, it’s for a trim eight-song, 22:30-long tape. The album is led by “Ferraris in The Rain”, which features ScHoolboy Q. However, the fellow West Coast native isn’t the only guest here. Action Bronson, Big Body Bes, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Conway the Machine, and Larry Lune can be heard as well. Give the project a spin with the links below.

Future Removed All Features From “Mixtape Pluto” And Fans Are Confused

Future delivered. Just not in the exact manner we expected. The rapper dropped off his new album, Mixtape Pluto, and its filled with stellar production and earworm hooks. One thing the album doesn’t have, though, is features. Future teased high profile collaborations with Travis Scott and Gunna on the new album. Travis Scott was touted to be on “SOUTH OF FRANCE,” and even appeared in the video for the teaser snippet. Likewise, Gunna had a verse on the leaked version of “TOLD MY.” Neither of them made the final cut, though, and fans are puzzled.

There has been some tension between Future and Gunna in the past. The former tweeted support for Gunna’s single “Prada Dem” in March, but deleted it minutes later. Fans everywhere speculated that the tension between the two men stemmed from Gunna’s actions in the ongoing YSL case. Given that “TOLD MY” dates back before the YSL drama, it’s very possible Future made the decision in light of the current circumstances. The omission of Travis Scott is a little more puzzling. Scott was seen recording a verse in the promo video for “SOUTH OF FRANCE.” There doesn’t appear to be any bad blood between him and Future, though.

Future Removed Gunna And Travis Scott From The Album

Given how anticipated both of these collabs were, fans were understandably disappointed. Some voiced concern over what these omissions mean with regards to Future’s relationships. Others simply lamented the fact that they didn’t get new Scott and Gunna verses. “Did we all get bamboozled by thinking Travis would be on South of France or was that just me,” asked one user. Another fan posited that Future could be saving the features for a deluxe version of Mixtape Pluto. If so, though, it would be the rare instance of a deluxe adding features to pre-existing songs instead of new ones.

Keep scrolling to read more social media reactions to the pump fake drop. Do you think Future will drop the features on a deluxe version? Why do you think they were removed in the first place? Is the album still good without features? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Lil Tecca Digs Into His Melodic Bag On New Album “PLAN A”

Lil Tecca has a deceptively smooth delivery. The rapper has a naturally hooky flow that makes everything he says sound slick. It’s the reason he’s been able to sidestep the one hit wonder allegations and churn out a respectable career since his breakout in 2019. PLAN A may not yield any smash hits on the level of “Ransom,” but it’s an incredibly catchy batch of songs. Lil Tecca wastes absolutely no time showcasing all of his talents on the album opener, “TASTE.” The beat is funky and seductive, while his normal voice gets underpinned by pitched up backing vocals.

Things get a bit harder on the album cuts “120” and “I CAN’T LET GO.” The latter boasts an impressive feature turn from another melody man, Don Toliver. Truthfully, though, PLAN A is at its best when Tecca is focusing on making earworm pop rap. “24HRS” sees Lil Tecca slather his vocals in Autotune with an absolutely hypnotic instrumental accompanying him. “NUMBER 2” is another sing-songy highlight, with the rapper’s flow melding perfectly with the mechanical beat. “NEVER LAST” is arguably the smoothest Lil Tecca has ever sounded on record. PLAN A is a bit long, but the brevity of each track makes it easy to pick out the highlights and keep it moving.

Future Keeps His Hot Streak Going With Masterful “Mixtape Pluto”

Future has been keeping the streets fed in 2024. He dropped two dynamite albums with Metro Boomin, and now he’s back with a solo venture. Mixtape Pluto could not have had higher expectations, due to the title and the teased snippets. We’re here to confirm that Future delivered. Mixtape Pluto is the comeback that mid-2010s fans have been waiting for. The song titles are concise and hard-hitting, as are the beats and lyrics. “Teflon Don” is a perfect album opener, setting a mood that’s both ominous and aggressive. This is not the commercial friendly Pluto that works with Taylor Swift.

Mixtape Pluto goes from highlight to highlight. “Lil Demon” and “Ski” are ferocious bangers that manage to take the Dirty Sprite 2 template and amplify it. There’s no wasted space on these beats, or in Future’s manic delivery. Mixtape Pluto is no one trick pony, though. Future manages to keep things sounding both cohesive and versatile. “Too Fast” sees a contemplative Pluto croon over a haunting sample. “MJ” is an off kilter, interlude length track punctuated by a woozy instrumental. “SOUTH OF FRANCE” might just be the best song here, though. Future finds a staggeringly catchy pocket during his verses, and the musical bed underneath perfectly conveys its title.

Famous Dex And Diego Money Link Up For “Dex & Diego Wave Bros, Pt. 1”

Famous Dex and Diego Money make “wavey” music. It’s groove-based, and reliant on catchy flows more than dense lyrics. These two rappers know what sounds good, so it should come as no surprise that they manage to preserve this baseline catchiness on their first joint EP. Dex & Diego Wave Bros, Pt. 1 is not a particularly clever title, but the duo manages to make up for it with a batch of brief, punchy songs. The first song, “Bentley Truck,” is a hypnotic slice of Autotune pop-rap in which Diego Money takes center stage. Famous Dex sounds eerily like Lil Yachty at points, but it still works.

There’s a decent amount of versatility on Dex & Diego Wave Bros, Pt. 1. “Balenciaga” is a slowed down banger with slurred deliveries from both Famous Dex and Diego Money. “Dex & Diego 2” is a standout thanks to the squelching synth line that anchors the beat. “Got Dat Sh*T on Me” is the most generic cut here, as the two rappers rip off dated flows over an instrumental you’d swear you heard at least a dozen times over the last decade. Fortunately, Famous Dex and Diego Money recover with the standout closer, “Wrist.” The vocals are mixed oddly low, but it’s hard to deny how catchy the duo sound over the watery, dare we say, wavey instrumental.

Future Releases Tracklist For Upcoming Album “Mixtape Pluto”

Future is seemingly giving fans new Mixtaple Pluto information every day. The rapper dropped a brand new snippet titled “Ski” on Monday, and now, he’s blessed social media timelines with an official tracklist. Mixtape Pluto will be 17 songs in total, and feature numerous songs that Future has teased over the past few weeks. These songs include “Lil Demon” and “South of France,” a highly anticipated collab with Travis Scott.

Future has done a great job of building up anticipation for the album. Mixtape Pluto is a great title, for one. The snippets have also been carefully selected to bring fans back to the rapper’s legendary mid 2010s run of mixtapes. Hard-hitting instrumentals and lyrics that are menacing as they are catchy. It’s the reason fans have been so enamored with the aforementioned snippets. “South of France” has even been teased with a music video that includes behind the scenes footage. The rapper didn’t include any additional features on the tracklist, however. Fans are going to have to wait and see who else makes the cut when Mixtape Pluto drops on September 20.

Are you looking forward to hearing Future’s upcoming album? What do you think of the tracklist so far? Which song are you most excited about? Which artists do you want to see on the album? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Kanye West Teases New Single “Preacher Man” From Upcoming Album

Kanye West is at all-time low when it comes to musical output. VULTURES 1 and VULTURES 2 are the consensus picks for worst albums of his career. The rapper has clearly lost the plot with regards to his musical focus, resulting in albums that were pieced together seemingly in real time. That said, West has seemingly regained focus in recent months. Since VULTURES 2, the rapper has played a well-received show in Korea. He also performed in China. And now he’s hinting at the release of a brand new single called “Preacher Man.”

Kanye West performed “Preacher Man” during the Korean show, and he reposted an image from the show on his Instagram. He also dropped the title of the song in the caption, suggesting that fans will get a chance to hear a CDQ version of the song in the near future. That’s the best case scenario, at least. Ye has become a model of inconsistency when it comes to sticking to a plan. That said, “Preacher Man” is a promising sound for a new album. The production is wistful and stripped down. A single vocal sample is the basis of the whole instrumental.

Kanye West Hinted At The Song’s Release On IG

Then there’s the rapping. Kanye West has not had the strongest pen game over the last decade, despite harnessing the talents of multiple songwriters. There are songs on VULTURES 2 in which he humbles his way through verses as though he left reference tracks in. There were also claims that he used AI to fill in gaps where he failed to rap. Conversely, West is rapping clearly and coherently on “Preacher Man.” It’s a surprise to hear, albeit a nice one.

Kanye West is rumored to be working on a new solo album. While the jury is still out on VULTURES 3, the Channel Candy CEO claimed that the rapper was pleased with the reception to his Korean concert. West is reportedly channeling this newfound inspiration into a fresh body of work. We can only hope it comes together more smoothly and seamlessly than we we’ve gotten from the rapper since, well, 2018. On the other hand, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign just debuted a “Thousand Miles” remix that has fans baffled.

The Alchemist Hypes Fans Up With Tracklist & Cover Art For New Album “The Genuine Articulate”

The Alchemist is dropping a new album on Friday (September 20), and fans couldn’t be more excited about yet another release in this prolific catalog. The legendary producer led the rollout with the single “Ferraris In The Rain” featuring ScHoolboy Q, indicating that this will boast many lyrical performances from him as an MC. Now, he shared the jagged but slightly regal cover art for the project, as well as the features for it. Across 8 tracks, Uncle Al will spit verses alongside Action Bronson, Big Body Bes, Havoc (all love to Mobb Deep, RIP Prodigy), Conway The Machine, and Larry June.

Moreover, this should make up for the disappointment that many fans expressed when Eminem released the Expanded Mourner’s Edition of his new album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). Many fans hoped that The Alchemist would lend some production to new deluxe cuts, but this was sadly not the case. Their strong bond has led many to beg for more collaborations, but it looks like they’re saving those for a very special occasion. Hopefully that’s sooner rather than later…

The Alchemist’s The Genuine Articulate: Cover Art & Features

What’s more is that The Alchemist’s prolific streak obviously doesn’t just refer to his projects and releases as a solo or collaborative artist, but also to his production work with other musicians. For example, he recently produced A$AP Rocky’s latest Don’t Be Dumb single, “Ruby Rosary” featuring J. Cole. It was a welcome surprise as a team-up, with the tender, eerie, and languid beat contrasting with Rocky’s typically animated delivery. Of course, Cole does his thing, too. We can’t wait to see what comes next, especially if it’s as new and exciting of a joint effort as that.

Fortunately, we already have a good idea of what that could look like. Big Sean recently revealed that he and The Alchemist are working on a full collab project. The latter just produced the former’s “Together Forever” off of his new album Better Me Than You, and they previously linked on “Palisades, CA” off of the beatsmith’s Larry June joint LP The Great Escape. We can’t wait for Friday and beyond!
