LaMelo Ball Gifts Adonis A Signed Jersey, Fans Have Mixed Reactions

Drake’s ties to the NBA and the sports world in general is very strong. The players adore him, and he loves to attend the biggest games. He was there for the incredible and improbable 2019 championship run his hometown Raptors went on. Drizzy’s passion for basketball is so strong that he is getting his son Adonis into it. They have been courtside together and he is even getting involved in playing as much as possible. Over the past couple of years, Adonis has taken a liking to certain players in the NBA, and one of them is LaMelo Ball.

According to Bleacher Report, Drake’s son drew a picture of the Charlotte Hornets star point guard. LaMelo saw it and he wound up gifting him a pair of his signature PUMA basketball kicks. The reaction can be found below and it is straight up adorable seeing Adonis so excited. With that connection being forged since last year, the two finally got to meet each other in person this past weekend.

The Hornets had to travel to Toronto last night, so it was the perfect opportunity. Adonis and a friend of his got to meet LaMelo in the locker room and the injured franchise player had a special gift for him. It was a signed jersey with a message written on the back. It said, “Go be great gang!! 1 of 1 rare not from here.” Unfortunately, Ball did not have a special surprise for Adonis’ buddy and that left some fans feeling a little disappointed. On person writes, “Other kid ain’t get s*** that’s crazy.” Another adds, “That’s kinda messed up tho. That kid is not gonna understand but that’s gotta hurt. If you cannot give to both don’t give them both nothing. Don’t do that.”

Clippers New Arena Vandalized By Teenagers

Police are searching for suspects after videos of teenagers vandalizing the unfinished Intuit Dome in LA were posted to TikTok. The perpetrators climbed on scaffolding and discharged fire extinguishers in the collection of clips posted online. After gaining entry via a construction ladder, the teens took a few shots on the unfinished court. The Intuit Dome is due to open in time for the next NBA season and will give the Clippers a new permanent home to go along with their recent branding redesign.

Per Inglewood Mayor James Butts Jr, the perpetrators have already been identified. “It will be very clear to these young men — and to people who are TikTok followers — that you have a moment of TikTok greatness followed by a little bit of misery. And so we don’t play around with these things,” Butts warned.

Kawhi Leonard Signs Huge Extension With LA Clippers

Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard recently signed a three-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly worth $157M. The terms were not disclosed by the Clippers but later reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The deal does not contain a player option. Furthermore, the team is reportedly working on an extension for Paul George, Leonard’s All-Star tandem partner. Both players were eligible for a maximum extension of four years and $223M. The Clippers move into the Intuit Dome, next season. It’s clear they want their cornerstones with them to begin that new era.

The Clippers are 38-20 on the season. However, they have hit a rough patch and have lost three of their last five. With Leonard and George both healthy and productive, the team has blossomed into a true contender. Both players are averaging over 23 points a game. Meanwhile, the early-season trade for James Harden gave the team a proven ball distributor. With their big three finally assembled, the Clippers currently hold the 4th seed in the Western Conference.

Is Bronny James Declaring For The NBA Draft? Rich Paul Gives Update On USC Freshman’s Thinking

Rich Paul has stated that Bronny James’ draft decision will be based on “team interest” and not projected draft position. “I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation,” Paul told ESPN. Furthermore, Paul noted that LeBron James’ long-stated desire to play with his son will not factor into the decision. However, Paul did note that LeBron would be “head over heels” if it happened “organically”. This comment also appeared to put to bed the idea that LeBron would leave the Lakers to play with Bronny.

It has been a less-than-ideal season for Bronny James. Entering college as a top-15 recruit, the start of his season was derailed by a cardiac arrest suffered last July. While that congenital defect has reportedly been addressed, Bronny will still have to get clearance from the NBA’s Fitness to Play panel. Additionally, Bronny has simply not played like an NBA prospect. He has averaged 5/2.8/2.4 a game for a Trojans team that has fallen well short of expectations. Projected to finish second in the Pac-12, USC is second-last in the division with two games left on the schedule.

Of course, Bronny’s NBA fit remains a heated point of discussion. Stephen Jackson took offense to Austin Rivers’ rationale behind why LeBron and Bronny shouldn’t play on the same team if Bronny makes the move to the NBA. “Difference is you trash, Bronny not. You can’t compare to him scrub. And your daddy not LeBron. Shut up,” Jackson wrote in the comments on an Instagram post reporting Rivers’ original comments. Rivers later replied to the former NBA player. “All smiles…I didn’t even have to fight my own battles with ignorance, yall corrected it for me!! Thank you for not siding with delusion. Have a blessed day,” Rivers wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

However, Jackson’s reaction was bizarre given that Rivers had been arguing that Bronny doesn’t need the added obstacle of playing in his father’s shadow. “I don’t want to see Bronny play with [LeBron]… Him getting drafted & playing with his dad, I don’t want that negativity to come his way. He doesn’t deserve it… [He needs to] play somewhere where he can niche out his own identity,” Rivers told NBA Today.

Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha are expecting their fourth child. Ayesha revealed the news during an appearance in Sweet July magazine. Curry said she and Steph thought they were done having kids but had a change of heart last year. Their most recent child was born in 2018. “Last year, we looked at each other and agreed we wanted to do this again,” Ayesha wrote in the article.

Furthermore, Ayesha is hoping for a more laidback pregnancy this time around. “I was really stubborn in my earlier pregnancies,” Ayesha said. “And that hurt me in the end. It made things really hard on me. I had to learn to put my pride aside and realize it was okay to take help, to have people around me help and to not shy away from it. I know I can’t do this alone — it truly takes a village,” Ayesha said.

Sabrina Ionescu Proud Of Performance Against Steph Curry, Hopes To Inspire Future Hoopers

Meanwhile, Steph Curry recently took on Sabrina Ionescu in a three-point shooting challenge. Many fans hoped that the event would become a staple, potentially allowing for a rematch between Ionescu and Curry. After all, it was Curry who initially issued the challenge. Curry first proposed the idea while discussing Ionescu with his teammate, Brandon Podziemski. “I think I’ve got to challenge her. Jordan Poole had a season-high 34 points but couldn’t escape the wrath of social media as the Wizards lost by three to the Lakers. Fans eagerly shared clips of Poole missing a game-tying shot as well as being the victim of a LeBron James chase-down block. However, as mentioned, Poole notched a season-high in scoring as the Wizards managed to run with the surging Lakers.

Three other Wizards reached 20 points in the monumental effort by one of the worst teams in the NBA. Meanwhile, LeBron and Anthony Davis combined for 71 points in the win. LA has now won two in a row, as the Wizards win follows their huge comeback effort against the Clippers earlier this week. Furthermore, the game against Washington was the start of a five-game homestand for LA, which continues against Denver on Saturday. The Wizards, who have now lost 13 in a row, are next in action against the Clippers this weekend.

Jordan Poole Contract Labeled “One Of The Worst In the NBA Right Now”

However, several anonymous NBA teams recently called Poole’s fully guaranteed four-year $128M contract “one of the worst in the league right now”, according to ESPN‘s Bobby Marks. Poole was meant to become the face of a new-look Wizards team but has not lived up to expectations. Putting up 16/2.5/3.7, Poole is a mediocre leader on one of the league’s worst teams. And yet, because Poole’s contract is guaranteed, the Wizards are stuck with him. Furthermore, they will likely owe him a further $2M for playing at least 65 games per season, a necessity because they have no one better to sub in as things stand.

Criticism of Poole has only increased in recent months as he has struggled to make his presence on the league known. The National Basketball Association (NBA) has revealed plans for its 18th annual Noches Éne•Bé•A Latin Nights program, celebrating NBA fans and players in Latin American and U.S. Hispanic communities throughout March.

From March 1 to March 15, all 30 NBA teams will sport special Fanatics-branded Noches Éne•Bé•A warmup shirts. Several teams will also host activities to honor local Hispanic communities, including in-arena celebrations and original content creation.

Highlights of Noches Éne•Bé•A 2024 include Puerto Rican singer and rapper Lunay performing at halftime during the Atlanta Hawks’ Hispanic Heritage Night. The Boston Celtics launching a Spanish-language Instagram handle (@LosCeltics) for their Noche Latina. The Chicago Bulls offering custom Los Bulls hats and crewneck shirts for their game, along with a pregame concert featuring local Latiné DJ’s DJ Ragol & DJ Enigma. The Cleveland Cavaliers honored NBA legend Alfred “Butch” Lee Jr., the first Puerto Rican athlete to play in the NBA, with an on-court ceremony.

Joel Embiid Intends To Return Before The Playoffs

Joel Embiid has announced his intention to return to the Sixers before the end of the regular season. “That’s the plan. Obviously everything has to go right, as far as getting healthy and being as close as I’m supposed to be. But yeah, that’s the plan,” Embiid told reporters in his first media appearance in a month. The reigning MVP had been far and away the MVP frontrunner until he was sidelined with a leg injury.

Furthermore, Embiid was not focused on the lost accolades but the fact that she went down he was red-hot. “That’s why it was extremely disappointing. Because I was on a roll and I felt like I wasn’t even close to where I wanted to be, body-wise and basketball-wise, because I wasn’t at my best, so I felt like there was still another level that I could go to. It was very disappointing. But I was having fun, playing, getting a lot of wins, dominating,” Embiid lamented.

Isaiah Stewart has broken his silence on his viral fight with Drew Eubanks. “First and foremost,” he said, “I apologize to my teammates — just the organization. The ninth win of the Pistons’ season, the result snapped a six-game losing streak for Detroit. The team is next in action on Friday against a high-flying Cavaliers team. The Pistons are odds-on favorites to earn the first-overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. However, while terrible, the Pistons have avoided setting the record for the worst record in NBA history.

However, the Cavaliers are coming off a huge performance. Max Strus stunned the NBA on Tuesday night as he hit a half-court buzzer-beater to lead the Cavaliers past the Mavericks. With 2.1 seconds remaining, Strus heaved a shot from 59 feet, barely seeing his shot go in as he was tackled by his teammates. Strus’ shot is the second-longest shot of the three-point era, sitting behind Devonte’ Graham’s 2021 61-footer. However, Strus himself has admitted that this isn’t even the longest shot of his career. “Yeah, at my Division II school, I made a three-quarter-court shot to win the game,” Strus said.
