Joe Burrow Marks May For Injury Recovery

Joe Burrow has laid out plans for his timetable to return from injury. “I think middle of May is when I am expecting to kind of be cleared for full contact and everything. Over the next month [to] month and a half, we’ll kind of decide all those things. I can lift basically normally now, which I’m excited about. So the next two months, I’ll basically be just doing what I’ve done for the last couple of years Just the 12 weeks of extra work in the rearview.” Burrow told ESPN on Sunday.

Burrow, who started the 2023 season with a lingering injury, was ruled out for the season after 10 games. It was later revealed that he had suffered a ligament tear. A once hopeful Bengals season fell apart without him and the team finished 9-8. They will pick at No. 18 in next month’s NFL draft. After tagging Tee Higgins, the Bengals’ biggest draft needs are on the O-Line and adding young depth at receiver.

Xavier Worthy Breaks NFL Combine 40-Yard Dash Record

Meanwhile, history was being made at the NFL Combine. Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy set a new record for the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, clocking in at 4.21 seconds with the final run of Saturday’s wide receiver and quarterback workouts. Worthy, who was expected to be the fastest man at the combine, ran a 4.24 in his first attempt. However, he was able to make John Ross III’s 2017 record by 0.01 seconds on his second attempt.

“I just broke the record. It still doesn’t feel real. Man, just a blessing to be able to do this in front of all these fans, with all these peers I’m with,” Worthy said. Worthy started 39 games in three years at Texas and left the school fourth in career receiving yards. Draft analysts rank him a low top-ten at his position and project him to be a late first-round or early second-round pick next month.

Joel Embiid Intends To Return Before The Playoffs

Joel Embiid has announced his intention to return to the Sixers before the end of the regular season. “That’s the plan. Obviously everything has to go right, as far as getting healthy and being as close as I’m supposed to be. But yeah, that’s the plan,” Embiid told reporters in his first media appearance in a month. The reigning MVP had been far and away the MVP frontrunner until he was sidelined with a leg injury.

Furthermore, Embiid was not focused on the lost accolades but the fact that she went down he was red-hot. “That’s why it was extremely disappointing. Because I was on a roll and I felt like I wasn’t even close to where I wanted to be, body-wise and basketball-wise, because I wasn’t at my best, so I felt like there was still another level that I could go to. It was very disappointing. But I was having fun, playing, getting a lot of wins, dominating,” Embiid lamented.

Jets Praise Aaron Rodgers For “Unbelievable” Recovery

The Jets have heaped praise on Aaron Rodgers for his recovery from Achilles surgery. “It’s a credit to him, especially in this day and age where a hangnail can affect a game week. But this dude is grinding to try to get himself back. It just shows how much he cares, and I have an appreciation for him,” head coach Robert Saleh said this week.

“It’s definitely impressive seeing him out there and the progress he’s made in such a short time. I mean, he’s special. The mindset, the way he goes about his treatment — all of a sudden, you find yourself back, ready to play here pretty soon. It’s crazy,” added wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Aaron Rodgers Return Still Playoff-Dependent

However, Rodgers’ return depends on whether the Jets can still make the playoffs. “I don’t think that would make a ton of sense. A comeback this year before the four-month mark would mean I’m not 100 percent healthy, so it’d be a risk for myself. For the team to sign off on if we’re out of it, I’d be surprised if they would OK that to come back,” Rodgers noted last month. Per ESPN, the 5-8 Jets have a less than 1% chance to make the playoffs. They play the division-leading Dolphins this weekend.

Furthermore, the Jets don’t have the easiest schedule before Rodgers’ preferred return. Their slate includes games against the surging Texans and the division-leading Dolphins. However, not everyone is a fan of Rodgers’ decision to try and return this season. Chad Johnson pleaded with him to focus on recovery. Meanwhile, Stephen A. Smith told the QB to “sit your a– at home.” Despite this, Rodgers appears set on at least entertaining the possibility of an unprecedented recovery.

Wiz Khalifa Reveals He Recently Suffered A Pelvis Injury

On Friday, June 23, Wiz Khalifa let his fans know what he’d been up to the last couple of days…and it doesn’t sound too fun. The 35-year-old rapper sent out a few Tweets letting the world know he suffered a small tear in the cartilage of his pelvis. While we know he practices martial arts, we’re not sure if his training is the reason for this latest physical setback. “Told the lady I ain’t need no help then proceeded to f*ck my back up,” Wiz said on social media. “This sh*t f*ckin hurts and pain medicine ain’t helping.”

Videos of Wiz Khalifa show him in black Calvin Klein boxer briefs and black kinesiology tape running up and down his lower back. Using two canes, he shows his fans that rehabilitation for this injury involves slowly walking to regain overall physical stability. He’s taking this injury seriously and cautiously, reportedly watching movies and applying remedies so that the swelling in his lower back goes down. Wiz Khalifa updated the masses on Saturday, showing himself walking faster than before. “Ima finna have super hips after this,” he said.

Fans have flooded social media, offering support from afar as the rapper continues to heal. The “Black and Yellow” star appreciated the love, helping fuel his recovery process. Wiz Khalifa got into professional fighting back in 2021. He invested in the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and became an advisor to the budding sports league. Again, we are not sure if his mixed martial arts training has anything to do with his pelvic cartilage tear. But one can speculate it might be a contributing factor.

This injury comes on the heels of a rare public appearance by Wiz alongside his ex-partner Amber Rose. The two co-parents were at their 10-year-old son Sebastian’s fourth-grade graduation. The ex-couple was married for a little over a year in 2013/2014 and shares joint custody of Sebastian. Wiz Khalifa’s current girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar, was also in attendance. For now, the rapper is subjugated to his bed, letting his pelvis and lower back heal so he can get back to doing what he loves.

Tomorrow (January 16) will officially mark two weeks since Damar Hamlin suffered one of the scariest injuries that the sports world has ever seen. The world was witness to the injury occurring in the first quarter of Monday Night Football.

In the highly-anticipated match-up between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals, the Bills’ Safety frighteningly went into cardiac arrest on the field. Ever since, we have gradually been receiving updates on his condition as they become available. On January 7, screenshots of him on FaceTime with Meek Mill and Michael Rubin began showing him in good spirits while still in the hospital.

Last Monday (January 9), reports began circulating that Hamlin was being released. “UC Health Center physicians announce that #Bills S Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital and is back in Buffalo. WOW,” writes NFL insider Ian Rapoport in a tweet.

On Saturday (January 14), one of his teammates, Linebacker Matthew Milano, took to his Instagram account to share a photo of their first reunion with Hamlin. The visit reportedly took place at the Bills’ Orchard Park practice facility in Buffalo.

The following day, Hamlin took to his Twitter account to voice his support for his teammates. “My heart is with my guys as they compete today! Supporting from home as I focus on my recovery. Nothing I want more than to be out there with them! LFG #BillsMafia,” reads his tweet.

Of course, the Bills are facing off against the Miami Dolphins in an AFC wild card game today. The match started at 1:00PM EST.
