Yung Joc On T.I. & Boosie Beef: “I Don’t Know What’s Real No More”

The beef between T.I. and Boosie has been quite interesting and volatile to see, but Yung Joc is one of many who are looking at it with more skeptical mindsets. Moreover, the Bronx-born rapper recently appeared on the My Expert Opinion podcast to talk about his thoughts on their spat. On one hand, Joc recongized that both artists stood firmly by their values and held onto their arguments. However, he also acknowledged that there could be something else at play, suggesting that it could all be for show. After all, Tip’s final album is coming soon, and that means a promo rollout is in order.

“So it’s kind of one thing if you my OG, and I can speak out against you, I can’t migrate to another city and link with a n***a who done did the same thing, and not say nothing,” the 42-year-old began. “So that’s the space Boosie in, and he standing on that. I don’t know if for Tip, cause he’s like ‘Man, I thought we were good.’ But then at the end of the day, I don’t know what’s real no more.

Yung Joc Gives His Two Cents On T.I. and Boosie

“They had the joint album,” he continued. “Now T.I. said that he’s gonna do his last album where he be throwing himself as the king. It could be the press for his new album. ‘Cause it was just that fast with him and Boosie. With Boosie doing that, it’s a lot of people who still love Tip in the way that they’re, ‘You know what? With you doing that, bro, we gon’ support this s**t whole 100%.’

“And there’s some people who love Boosie that are like, “You know what? You stood on that, we gon’ support you,’” he continued. “So I don’t know what the f**k. When I think about marketing, when people talk to me about s**t, I always saw it go wrong. I say some s**t in the background and then, when that s**t come out, n***as be like, ‘Bro, how the f**k you knew that?’” Let us know your take in the comments and return to HNHH for the latest on Yung Joc, Boosie, and T.I.

Young Chris Explains Signing With Jay-Z Over Dame Dash

Young Chris of the Young Gunz recently explained why he signed with Jay-Z over Dame Dash during the infamous Roc-A-Fella split in the mid-2000s. Appearing on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, Young Chris recalled how Jay-Z pitched himself to him and Freeway while the two were on the road. The legendary rapper told the two that this “shit about to be over.”

“I remember Dame was telling me to do a solo project,” the State Property MC recalled. “That’s kind of why I went with Jay, you know? My loyalty to Neef [Buck]. We already did the first album and I’ma follow up, you feel me? That was my situation. I think back on it sometimes ’cause I never looked at it as being the Bobby of the group. Dame was probably looking at the shit, but we went with Jay and we did what we did.”

Young Chris On “My Expert Opinion”

Young Chris joined Roc-A-Fella as one-half of the Young Gunz alongside Neef Buck. At the time, Jay-Z was publically planning to retire following the release of The Blueprint 2 in 2002. In the wake of that decision, Damon Dash was trying to bring in tons of talent to the Roc-A-Fella roster. The label already boasted Kanye West, The Diplomats, Beanie Sigel, and more. Jay-Z then accepted a position as the CEO and president of Def Jam Recordings. Dame and fellow co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke eventually gave in and sold their stake in the label to Island Def Jam, before forming their own label.

Young Gunz later released their second and final album Brothers from Another with Jay-Z in 2005. The album peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard 200, while selling 138,000 units in the US. It features guest appearances from Pooda Brown, 112, Daz Dillinger, John Legend, Kanye West, and Memphis Bleek. The lead single from the album, “Set It Off,” was produced by Swizz Beatz and peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. They also worked with producers Chad Hamilton, Boola, Bangladesh, and more across the tracklist. In the years since, Chris has continued releasing his own solo music.

Megan Thee Stallion Receives Apology From Math Hoffa: “We Didn’t Believe Her”

After an exhausting few years, Megan Thee Stallion is taking a much-needed break. We haven’t heard anything from the rapper since she testified against Tory Lanez, and her fans don’t seem to mind. For over two years, Megan was ridiculed, trolled, threatened, and called a liar by not only the public but her peers. Several outlets and media personalities also chose sides and used their platforms to discount Megan saying that Lanez was the person who shot her.

My Expert Opinion is a leading voice in Hip Hop podcasts, guided by Math Hoffa. The outlet maintained that Megan wasn’t telling the truth, and now that we’re on the other side of the case, Hoffa is offering an apology. He acknowledged Megan during a recent visit to Drink Champs.

“I want to apologize to Megan, too, because I saw 50 [Cent] put out an apology,” Hoffa said. “We didn’t believe her, we did not believe her, bro, we didn’t believe her. She definitely needed more people. Well, she didn’t really need more people. We just needed to hear that jail conversation.”

Like 50 Cent, it wasn’t until after Lanez was found guilty that Megan was believed. Even after the verdict was reached, the Houston rapper faced opposition from the public. People thought, and still think, Lanez was railroaded by a corrupt system. However, evidence was later made public, including a jailhouse call Lanez made to Kelsey Harris immediately after the incident.

“As Black men, we’re supposed to protect our women,” Hoffa also shared. “I feel like I failed in that category… as far as the things that I said on our podcast.”

While on Big Boy’s Neighborhood weeks ago, 50 Cent also apologized, sort of, to Megan for trolling her about the case. He admitted that it wasn’t until he heard Lanez’s jail call that he believed her story. Lanez is currently awaiting sentencing. His hearing is at the end of the month, and he faces upwards of 22 years in prison.

French Montana Recalls When 50 Cent “Was Pickin’ On N*ggas”

As he awaits the prison release of his good friend Max B, French Montana is on a press run for Coke Boys 6. The recently released Gangsta Grillz project is being scrutinized by Hip Hop Heads worldwide, and as they dissect, French also sat down with My Expert Opinion. Math Hoffa’s famed YouTube series has often delivered hot takes from Rap’s elite. This time, the crew was revisiting when 50 Cent was targeting his foes decades ago.

Over the years, Fif has engaged in beefs with several of his peers. Ja Rule, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, and even his son Marquise Jackson have been on the wrong side of the Power mogul. “50 was picking on n*ggas to pick on n*ggas,” said French.

He continued, “At one point, he was the biggest genius in the music industry,” he claimed. “He would just pick on you and drop a mixtape. Pick on you and drop an album.”

“He kinda created that marketing scheme for a lot of artists to use.” It has certainly been beneficial in today’s culture of Hip Hop. “I mean, people did it before him, but he became the mastermind. He became the warlord of that.”

“That’s definitely a blueprint for a lot of n*ggas to learn.”

Dave East Discussed The Backlash Over A Past Lil Nas X Comment, But He May Have Forgotten The Worst One

New year, new Dave East? During the rapper’s recent appearance on the My Expert Opinion podcast, East reflected on the backlash he received over his dislike for the song “Old Town Road.

Back in April 2019, while Lil Nas X celebrated the song’s historic run on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, East, on the other hand, took to his Instagram stories writing, “This f*ckin’ ‘Old Town Road’ sh*t is f*ckin’ wack!” Later adding, “I ain’t no hater, man, but that sh*t is wack with a cape on it. It’s super wack.”

Now, nearly four years after his initial comments, the Harlem native rehashed the incident telling host Math Hoffa, “It’s like you can’t have an opinion on sh*t no more.”

“I said I did not like ‘Old Town Road.’ One day, I felt a way. I said, ‘I don’t like this record.’ You know their entire community ran down on me,” said East, clarifying, “I never said nothing about the [LGBTQ] community. I’m cool with the people in the community.”

Viewers took to Twitter to quickly remind East that he, in fact, does have a problem with the queer community after he used a homophobic Jamaican slur to comment on Lil Nas X’s Nicki Minaj-inspired Halloween costume the following year.

According to East, “You gotta know what comes with it,” but listening to the interview, it is clear he still doesn’t have a clue.

East doubled down on his disapproval of the song, saying, “I don’t like the song,” adding, “I don’t like the fact that it’s being played on New York radio, where I know it’s a thousand n****s right in the town. When I go to Atlanta, the radio sounds like Atlanta.”

“I said I did not like ‘Old Town Road.’ One day, I felt a way. I said, ‘I don’t like this record.’ You know their entire community ran down on me,” East said firstly. “I never said nothing about the [LGBTQ] community. I’m cool with the people in the community.”

At the time, East remarked that the song is “fucking wack,” before adding, “I don’t know what the fuck is going on with hip-hop, with rap but… I ain’t no hater, man, but that shit is wack with a cape on it, It’s super wack!”

He also later used a Jamaican slur to describe gay men while reacting to Nas’ Nicki Minaj-inspired Halloween costume.

“It’s like you can’t have an opinion on shit no more,” East additionally said on My Expert Opinion. “You gotta know what comes with it. I didn’t say nothing about [Lil Nas X’s] preference as far as who he is as a person, I don’t give a fuck about that.”

He further added: “I don’t like the song. I don’t like the fact that it’s being played on New York radio where I know it’s a thousand n****s right in the town. When I go to Atlanta, the radio sounds like Atlanta.”

“Old Town Road” famously reigned atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking nineteen weeks in 2019. Nas later released a remix with Billy Ray Cyrus, which helped continue its success.

Math Hoffa Responds To Jim Jones’ “Best Podcasts” List

Math Hoffa has responded to Jim Jones‘ list of the “Best Podcasts of 2022.” The Harlem rapper placed his show last on the list, offending the host of My Expert Opinion.

“I mean this is the only independent podcast in the top ten,” Hoffa said during an episode with Troy Ave. “Jim you was wylin’. It’s okay, I got a little petty, you know I love ya, but yeah you just gotta give it up for the people who choose to take control of their own destiny and run their own business.”

Over My Expert Opinion, Jones ranked Drink Champs, Million Dollaz Worth of GameNo Jumper, The Joe Budden Podcast, and more.

Jones originally shared his list back in December, posting a notes app screenshot on Instagram.

“After considerable deliberation and numerous talks wit th top 10 committee we have finally decided on our top 10 pod casters of 2022,” he captioned the list. “If u feel u should have made the list hold tht thought till next year.”

Jones also defended his inclusion of Kai Cenat, admitting that he may not technically be a podcaster.

“Some might argue @kaicenat is not a pod caster but he interviews people so there for he has a component of pod casting goin in durin his show so yeah and he super Poppin to th young generation,” he said, defending his selection.

Another notable decision is the exclusion of Elliott Wilson and Brian “B. Dot” Miller’s popular Rap Radar podcast. The show also has caught heat from Griselda in recent days.

Deb Antney Thought Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Would “Lock In”

The impact that women in Rap have on the industry is unprecedented, and Deb Antney has been tracking its progression. As more ladies are staking their claims in Hip Hop, we’re seeing a rediscovered unity—although, there are still moments when internet rifts get the best of them. Antney was instrumental in Minaj’s rise to stardom, and on My Expert Opinion, she spoke about her former client.

“I wanted to put the whole thing together with women,” said Antney. “But everybody always got something to say about the next woman.”

She also spoke about maturing artists who try to compete with the younger, rising generation.

“Bring these babies up and let them come out!” she added. “Let it keep passing on! What you look like on stage? That’s just as bad as some of these 50-year-old rappers… You’re dated! And you still wanna be up here doing this stuff. There’s other things that you could be into. Bring up somebody else and let them come through.”

Math Hoffa contested that there are rappers who do just that. When Deb asked for an example, Cardi B’s name entered the conversation. The “Up” hitmaker is well-known for partnering with rising artists, especially young women, on collaborations or by giving them shout-outs.

Cardi is very good when it comes to stuff like that,” said Antney. “She’s very, very good… That’s Cardi!” The conversation drifted to New York rappers having a 10 year stretch when artists weren’t “putting nobody on.”

Antney praised Minaj’s grind, adding that people still don’t know her sacrifices to get where she is. She also touched on Cardi and Minaj’s beef, saying she doesn’t get involved in those discussions.

“I don’t get into that beef sh*t. That’s people. See, the one thing that an artist gotta understand: it costs money to go to war. You don’t wanna spend that money,” said Antney.

“I hated—I really thought Nicki and Cardi was really gonna lock into each other. They’re two different people. I wanted that so bad. I wanted that bad to see them two get into each other.”

There have been wars of words between Cardi and Nicki, but these days, it seems they actively avoid one another. However, their fanbases have been known to stir the pot, often creating unnecessary viral moments that place both women in an unfortunate spotlight.

[WATCH] Styles P Says That 21 Savage Is Not A Lyricist

Screen Shot 2022 12 08 at 8.57.11 AM

Millennial rap star 21 Savage has put himself under the microscope after his comments about Nas’ relevancy in the rap game.

Styles P recently appeared on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion and commented on Savage’s opinion of Nas, saying, “You can’t hate the young fellas for being stupid. If they sayin’ illogical sh*t, that’s our fault. Those that came before ’em, now we gotta pull back and see, where did we f*ck up.”

Styles continued, “I like 21 Savage! I don’t love him, I like him a lot lot. Don’t love him, I like him a lot, lot, lot. The sh*t he say tickles me pink and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe this n*gga said that. It’s dope.’ I f*cks with him.”

He goes further into his analysis of 21’s skills and his opinion of one of the greatest rappers of all time. “My n*gga, you not a lyricist. F*ck all that,” he said. “Drake’s supposed to tell this n*gga, ‘N*gga, chill. That’s Nasir. That’s Nasir Jones.’
