Diddy & Harve Pierre Want Jane Doe To Lose Anonymity In Gang Rape Lawsuit: Report

Diddy and Harve Pierre reportedly want the Jane Doe accusing them of gang rape to lose her anonymity. While the defendants already know who she is, they want her identity to be a matter of public record. The alleged victim’s lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, argues that the high-profile nature of the case, in conjunction with the fact she was underage at the time of the alleged assault, should give her grounds to keep her identity private.

“On December 9, 2023, counsel for [Diddy and Harve Pierre] indicated that they do not consent to [Jane Doe’s] motion to proceed anonymously,” Wigdor explained, as noted by AllHipHop. “Because of the high-profile nature of the Defendants, compounded with the fact that [Jane Doe] was only seventeen years old at the time of the sexual assault alleged in the Complaint, she should be permitted to proceed under a pseudonym and pursue her claims with anonymity. The media attention of this action would undoubtedly create a chilling effect on future plaintiffs in similar circumstances should Ms. Doe be forced to disclose her identity.”

He added: “[Jane Doe] has experienced significant trauma as a result of Defendants’ sexual assault and rape and would certainly experience significant harm if she is forced to reveal her identity to the public.” The woman is the fourth person to come forward with accusations against Diddy in recent weeks. The lawsuits began with Cassie in November, although she and Diddy settled a day later.

Diddy finally broke his silence on the lawsuits, earlier this month. Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy.” From there, he labeled the allegations “sickening” and accused the victims of looking for a “quick payday.” He added: “I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.” Be on the lookout for further updates on the lawsuits against Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Recording Academy Says They’re “Evaluating” Whether To Invite Diddy

The Recording Academy has released a statement addressing the backlash to inviting Diddy to attend the upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony. The organization says that is “evaluating” whether the disgraced Bad Boy mogul will be in attendance. The decision comes in the wake of several alleged victims suing Diddy for sexual assault.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves,” the Recording Academy said in its statement on Tuesday.

The statement comes after a report from The Mirror suggested that the situation is causing a “logistical nightmare” for the Grammys. In addition to numerous celebrities asking that the organization bar him from attending, the women’s rights group, UltraViolet, also argued against inviting Diddy. “We are deeply disturbed and concerned by the recent allegations of sexual abuse, sex trafficking of a minor and domestic violence made against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs over the past three weeks,” their statement reads. “The gravity of the allegations against Combs underscore the ongoing need for accountability — and that the #MeToo movement is relevant and badly needed more than ever.”

The accusations began with Cassie back in November. Diddy finally broke his silence on the lawsuits on Instagram, earlier this month. He wrote: “Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.” Be on the lookout for further details on Diddy attending the Grammys on HotNewHipHop.

Snoop Dogg Just Had His First Roasted Marshmallow And Missed Out On The Best Part

They say you can’t miss what you never had, but I will argue that with this factoid: While filming his commercial for a smokeless fire pit, Snoop Dogg roasted his first marshmallow — ever, in his whole 52 years of life — which kind of misses the point of roasting marshmallows. In an interview with outdoor retail magazine The Daily (there is truly one for every interest), Solo Brands CEO John Merris revealed that the marshmallow Snoop roasts in the ad for the smokeless Solo Stove was his first ever.

Of course, anyone who HAS roasted a marshmallow before (look, some of us are internationally known music stars and business moguls, and others enjoy the simpler things in life) would know that the smoky flavor is what accentuates the sweetness of the confection and adds just the right amount of bitterness to cut through all the sugar in a s’more. Of course, just being in a room with Snoop, the “smoky flavor” part is probably already handled.

Snoop’s reputation as a legendary lover of marijuana truly helped make the Solo Stove rollout an event to behold. When he posted he was “giving up smoke” on social media, he caused a frenzy both online and in mainstream news that he would ever consider giving up weed (although the more shrewd among us rightly called it a marketing ploy early on). When Solo and Snoop revealed the ad for the smokeless fire pit, the collective sigh of relief from stoners everywhere probably caused a nationwide contact high. We should definitely look into any changes in the air quality that day.

Which Rappers Turned Down Hip-Hop 50 Invitations?

A Grammy Salute To 50 Years Of Hip-Hop aired on Sunday, December 10 after the live show in November, and once it was out in the open, executive producer Questlove answered fans’ questions on Twitter. In addition to allegeding that the stress of producing the show cost him a couple of teeth, he also revealed which rap star’s declined invitation “hurt the most.”

The pick might be a surprise for fans whoo weren’t around for that artist’s dominant run in the ’90s, but that’s why we have the Hip-Hop 50 celebration in the first place: to teach or remind younger fans where the culture came from from and how it’s evolved. “Of all the ‘No’s,’” the Roots drummer wrote. “Hammer hurt the most. We really wanted him to have his flowers.”

Although Quest didn’t go into details about why any of the invited artists turned down the show (most likely did so due to scheduling conflicts), Quest also confirmed that 50 Cent, Ice Cube, Run-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, and Wu-Tang Clan were all asked. And while there are clearly fans who were disappointed, the producer called it a “blessing in disguise.”

“Got a gazillion ‘no’s’ but mid edit we were like this was a blessing in disguise,” he explained. “The reason this is dope is because ‘Normally’ we only celebrate ‘the winners’ & ignore ‘the loved.’ This changes all of that.” He’s not wrong; the full list of performers includes some oft-overlooked names in the rap discussion, from DJ Quik and Yo-Yo to Three 6 Mafia and everyone in between. When Will Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Movie Be On Digital?

Beyoncé’s Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé has been bringing the concert experience to theaters for a few days now, as fans have been packing out seats to go see it. Since the excitement hasn’t died down yet, those who haven’t been able to make it to the movies might be wondering when they’ll be able to watch it digitally.

Here’s what to know.

When Will Beyoncé’s Renaissance Movie Be On Digital?

Right now, there isn’t an exact date for when Beyoncé will put the Renaissance concert film out as a digital option. According to Forbes, she will be playing it in theaters, through her exclusive deal with AMC, for at least four weekends (Thursday through Sunday) from its premiere on December 1. The publication notes that New Year’s Day (January 1, 2024) is the soonest possible option if she doesn’t wait.

It really is up to Queen Bey herself when fans will be able to buy and watch the film as a digital option — but they’ll still be waiting with anticipation for whenever it happens. As for streaming, that possibility will be even further down the release line, if at all.

Nicki Minaj And 50 Cent’s ‘Beep Beep’ Remix Is The Gritty Southside Jamaica Queens Collaboration Fans Have Been Waiting For

When Nicki Minaj said she had a vault worth of music to release, she wasn’t exaggerating. Instead of waiting, Nicki is treating fans to what didn’t make Pink Friday 2’s final tracklist. Yesterday (December 11), the head Barb surprised her followers with a remix to her latest song, “Beep Beep.”

On “Beep Beep (Remix),” Nicki tapped her fellow Southside Jamaica Queens native 50 Cent for the guest slot. So, fans shouldn’t take 50 Cent’s The Final Lap Tour as a retirement declaration. Thanks to the collaboration, his plans to re-enter the music space are in full effect. Listeners already know what Nicki delivered on the original version. So, the question was, could 50 Cent match the energy? He did.

“When n****s out smackin’ sh*t, it’s hard to find me / I’m different sh*t, I’m with the sh*t, I’m ’90s grimy / I should spend that sh*t, then they spin that sh*t / If n****s ain’t there, they gon’ double back to finish it / Say, we got some kind of beef, what kind of beef? Please remind me / N****s all p*ssy, whole clique punani / A lil’ bread with me, you can’t hide behind money,” raps 50.

In a post uploaded to Nicki’s official Instagram page, she shared a note thanking 50 Cent for linking up with her on the track. “Queens get the money! Southside Jamaica, Queens, stand the f*ck up! [50 Cent] walked on this sh*t. YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I am so honored to have him stop by #GagCity!!!! #PinkFriday2,” wrote Nicki.

As Nicki continues to roll out collaborators, supporters are growing excited to see which of these acts make a surprise cameo onstage during the Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Adam22 Thinks Tyler, The Creator Is Out Of Touch In Regards To Interviews

Adam22 is someone who is not afraid of speaking his mind as it pertains to a whole plethora of issues within the hip-hop world. Overall, he has created quite the brand for himself with No Jumper. It is a media platform with numerous podcasts. Furthermore, he has interviewed some massive artists in underground hip-hop. He continues to deliver interviews to his fans, and while he might engage in some antics sometimes, people are still tuning into his shows. At the end of the day, he is here to stay.

Recently, Adam was on a podcast with Unghetto. During this conversation, they spoke about Tyler, the Creator and his recent comments about interviews in music. As Tyler told Nardwuar, he wants to do more interviews about the music itself. In his mind, interviews like Hot Ones are not valuable. He just wants to discuss his craft and what inspires him. This led to many people calling out Tyler for a privileged and downright nauseating take. Adam22 is one of those people, and you can see his full take, below.

Adam22 Shares His Thoughts

Essentially, Adam believes Tyler is coming from a place of great privilege when he says something like this. Tyler is already one of the biggest artists in the world, and he can talk about anything he wants. However, other artists are only able to get interviews while on a rollout. The smaller creatives will take anything that comes their way, and that includes interviews that don’t center on the music. It is a harsh reality, although it is one that Tyler has not had to deal with for years. While Tyler’s opinion probably won’t change anytime soon, there is no doubt that other artists are in agreement with Adam on his take.

Let us know what you think of Adam’s comments, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and personalities.

Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj Beef Rumours Appear False As Former Shouts Out Queen Of Rap: Video

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 includes some of her most introspective work to date, but that doesn’t mean the album rollout took place without any drama. In fact, after the new project landed on streamers this past weekend, the Trinidadian revealed to her Barbz that it was supposed to include a feature from another femcee who she previously made a record-breaking hit with. However, the unnamed collaborator allegedly refused because she was under the impression Minaj doesn’t like her – something the mother of one could only laugh at. While she didn’t drop names, many quickly assumed she was speaking about Doja Cat, who recruited Nicki to join her on the “Say So (Remix).”

“They said that it was a lot of different things, but you know, I didn’t realize, they said that they don’t think I like them,” Papa Bear’s mom recalled her conversation with the other performer’s team. “She passed on it,” Minaj additionally revealed in the comment section.” The internet has been eagerly waiting for a response from Doja, who surprised us by keeping things positive and even shouting out the “Did It On ‘Em” hitmaker during her recent show.

Doja Cat Has Big Love for Nicki Minaj

While performing her Planet Her hit, “Get Into It (Yuh),” the California-born creative said, “Thank you, Nicki! I love you… That’s right!” seemingly squashing any rumours of beef between them. As some are pointing out, this is actually part of the original outro of the song on her LP, so it’s not a huge surprise for her to include. At the same time, others are suggesting that Minaj was talking about someone else entirely.

As Doja Cat continues on her Scarlet Tour with special guests Doechii and Ice Spice, the Queen of Rap is tapping new friends to join her on the Pink Friday 2 tracklist. After sharing her highly anticipated LP this past weekend, she returned with a new 50 Cent collaboration that’s now officially streaming on DSPs. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

The Recording Academy Addressed Diddy’s 2024 Grammys Status In Light Of The Troubling Allegations He Faces

In light of Diddy’s recent legal troubles centered around sexual assault allegations, some have wondered what the Grammys are planning to do about the rapper: At the 2024 ceremony, his album The Love Album: Off The Grid earned a nomination in the Best Progressive R&B Album category.

Will Diddy’s Grammy nomination be taken away, and will he be welcome at the 2024 show? That’s unclear as of now, but the Recording Academy is at least looking into it.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves,” the Recording Academy said in a statement shared with Rolling Stone.

As for Diddy’s nomination, based on recent precedent, it doesn’t appear likely it will be rescinded. In response to Marilyn Manson receiving a Grammy nomination in 2021, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said at the time:

“We won’t restrict the people who can submit their material for consideration. We won’t look back at people’s history, we won’t look at their criminal record, we won’t look at anything other than the legality within our rules of, is this recording for this work eligible based on date and other criteria. If it is, they can submit for consideration.

What we will control is our stages, our shows, our events, our red carpets. We’ll take a look at anyone who is asking to be a part of that, asking to be in attendance, and we’ll make our decisions at that point. But we’re not going to be in the business of restricting people from submitting their work for our voters to decide on.”
