Billy McFarland Confirms Fyre Festival 2.0 After Serving Four Years In Prison

Billy McFarland’s first-ever attempt at throwing a music festival may have been one of the biggest flops in human history, but that’s not stopping him from trying again. On Sunday (April 9), the convicted felon announced via Twitter that he’s plotting another event in the near future, and he’s already seeking out eager volunteers to make an appearance on the guest list. “🔥 Fyre Festival II is finally happening,” he wrote on the weekend. “Tell me why you should be invited.”

Earlier this month, McFarland interestingly spoke out about his desire to return gracefully to the public eye, writing, “I was one of the most Googled people in the world. What’s next will be the biggest comeback of all time. My plan: get some wins under my belt; rebuild trust, and build an audience so I can build the next media empire.” As Variety notes, his latest announcement comes shortly after his release from prison last year. The 31-year-old served four years of a six-year sentence after pleading guilty to charges of defrauding investors and scamming ticket buyers. He additionally received a hefty fine of $26 million, which he has vowed to find a way to pay.

Billy McFarland is Planning a Comeback

In response to his Fyre Festival news, many users chimed in with skeptical reactions. “Tell me why you shouldn’t be in jail?” one user asked McFarland. “It’s in the best interest of those I owe for me to be working,” he retorted. “People aren’t getting paid back if I sit on the couch and watch TV. And because I served my time.” Someone else suggested that they should be invited to the upcoming event, “because [they’re] not Ja Rule,” which earned an obvious seal of approval from the embattled businessman.

“I know a safer way to enjoy music,” the official LimeWire account quipped, though they weren’t fortunate enough to earn a reply from the original poster. Keep scrolling to read more Twitter reactions to Billy McFarland’s big announcement. Afterward, let us know if you’ll be attending Fyre Festival 2.0 in the comments below.

South African Rapper Costa Titch Deceased After Collapsing On Music Festival Stage

The rap world mourns the loss of South African rapper Costa Titch, who tragically passed away after collapsing on stage at the Ulta music festival in Johannesburg on Saturday (March 11). Titch, real name Constantinos Tsobanoglou, passed at the age of 28. Moreover, his record label, friends, and family issued a statement regarding his loss. Even with all the hype around music festivals, especially after COVID, audiences must know that safety is still the top priority. Considering the tragedies that have occurred at live settings, this news is heartbreaking for fans and loved ones.

“Death has tragically knocked at our door,” the statement read. “Robbing us of our beloved son, brother and grandson, Constantinos Tsobanoglou (28), who South Africa had come to love and idolize under his stage name ‘Costa Titch’. It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time. We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth. As a family we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves.

Costa Titch Dead After Collapsing On Stage During Music Festival

“The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given to our son and may you continue to uplift him even in spirit,” the statement continued. “Please keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord.” On social media, many lamented that Western media only covers international artists when they pass, not for their present work. Tragically, however, this is yet another instance of a sudden death in the South African music community.

Rapper AKA was fatally shot outside of a restaurant, just weeks before he was set to drop a new album. Moreover, said incident occurred in February and shook not only his fans and family but the larger musical scene there. As rap fans, the community hopes that the South African rap world heals and strides in a more positive and uplifting direction after such loss. If you listened to Constantinos Tsobanoglou, also known as Costa Titch, let us know your favorite song, album, or moment from him in the comments down below.
Rest In Peace Costa Titch.

Where Is Rolling Loud 2023

Starting March 3rd through March 5th 2023, the annual Rolling Loud festival will begin. Making the first of many stops in Inglewood, CA at the Hollywood Park grounds. Inglewood is the first of two stops nationally and one of many internationally.

How It Started

What began in 2015 in Miami as a way to, “create a festival to showcase the best in hip hop music”, has become an annual international sensation. Created by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, two best friends who have known each other since their time in Hollywood, FL elementary school. After throwing successful parties in high school their first foray into professional live music was a 2010 after-party. The event was headlined by Rick Ross and was not a success. In fact, it left Ziggler bloodied and in need of stitches. As well as leaving them both out of tens of thousands of dollars. At that point they knew they needed a new game plan.

They began booking rappers both well-known and unknown for dates around the Florida area. They also began to study the way that EDM shows captivate their audiences. Shortly thereafter, Rolling Loud was born. The very first Rolling Loud festival took place February 28th, 2015 at Soho Studios in the Wynwood section of Miami, FL. Big names like Action Bronson, Schoolboy Q, A$AP Ferg, Juicy J, and Curren$y all came together to grace the stage for the day-long event. In the years since then it has grown and expanded to the point that it has gone from one day to a full weekend. It has also gone from one local location to a highly recognized international festival.

This Year’s Lineup

Rolling loud is considered to be the largest hip hop festival in the world. The focus that it has on hip hop is what sets it apart from other music festivals. Other festivals tend to sprinkle hip hop acts few and far between, while Rolling Loud dedicates its entirety to the genre. This year’s line up is chocked full of big names just as the years prior have been. This year’s festival kicks off with Playboy Carti as the headliner on Friday. He is most known for his hits, “Sky” and “Magnolia”, among a host of others. Set to perform the same day are Kodak Black, Tyga, Trippie Redd, DaBaby, Saweetie, Souljah Boy and 28 other artists as well.

Saturday, the second of the three day long event is headlined by Travis Scott. Other performers taking the stage that day include; Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Kevin Gates, City Girls and another 34 other artists that were not mentioned. The weekend long hip hop festival concludes with Future as the headliner. As well as special guest Lil Wayne. Other artists set to take the stage are: Lil Uzi Vert, Tory Lanez, MoneyBagg Yo and 40 other performers. So in total there will be over 100 artists taking to the stage in Inglewood this coming weekend.

Ticket Prices

Ticket prices for Rolling Loud range in price depending on what you are looking to get out of the experience. General admission tickets were starting at $329 per person. The prices only go up from there. For the three day VIP passes, they were starting at $849 per person. The VIP Munchie three day pass starts at $999 per person. For almost a thousand dollars, here is the list of perks that are included. Exclusive Front row stage viewing access, access onto festival grounds & VIP Areas, 10 meal tickets to experience all of our food options, exclusive VIP merch pack, air conditioned restrooms, expedited entry into the festival, dedicated private bar, free makeup touch-ups at Bunny’s Bae Bar, dedicated private food & beverage vendors, live art installations, private merchandise store, as well as shaded, chill areas with seating.

Set Times

With so many artists performing in just a few days, the outdoor area will be divided among multiple stages. Throughout the varying stages performances with range depending on the artist. They seem to range anywhere from 20 minutes for unknown artists to an hour for headliners. The festival hours are from 3PM till 11PM both Friday and Saturday while Sunday’s festivities begin at 1PM ending at 11PM. Festival goers have had the opportunity upon purchasing their wristbands and downloading the Rolling Loud app to personalize and save a schedule of all of the artists they want to see. The saved schedule shows a list of the artists in order by date and time along with the exact stage that they will be performing on.

The festival kicks off tomorrow and runs through the fifth of March. From there it will head to the place of its origin in Miami taking over the Hard Rock stadium July 21st through the 23rd. Tickets are still available for purchase through www.RollingLoud.com.

Lil Baby Joins Governor’s Ball 2023 Lineup, Teases New Music Coming Soon

January is already halfway over, which means festival season is rapidly approaching. To prepare for the coming months, several of the biggest events have already been unleashing their lineups, including Coachella. As far as east coast concerts go, Governor’s Ball is one of the first to show off its impressive roster of artists for the upcoming weekend of live tunes and fun in the sun.

It will take place in New York City’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park from June 9 – 11. The 2023 edition of the beloved festival is sure to bring in music lovers from various genres. Friday will see Lizzo headline after names like Lil Uzi Vert, Diplo, Omar Apollo, and Joey Bada$$ take the stage.

The next day, Odesza will have the final show of the evening. However, many are eager to see what Lil Baby will have in store for his set that same night. On Monday (January 16), the Atlanta native teased that he has “New Music Otw.” The news came via the caption of his latest Instagram upload.

The images find the My Turn hitmaker sporting a double denim look. He also wears a fluffy pink bucket hat on his head. While the photos don’t exactly reveal what we can expect to hear from him, it is evident that the father of two is feeling more confident than ever before.

Before his Saturday set at Governor’s Ball, attendees will also hear from Oliver Tree, Syd, Finneas, and Amber Mark.

For those that stick around for the festival’s final day, countless major performances are in store. Earlier in the day, acts like Phony Ppl, Sabrina Claudio, and Pinkpantheress will give it their all.

As if that weren’t enough, the evening will see shows from Tems, Central Cee, Pusha T, Giveon, Lil Nas X, and finally, Kendrick Lamar to end the weekend with a bang.

While several of the stars on the roster are causing excitement to buzz in the air, it’s Lil Baby who really has the hip-hop community talking. His last release came in the form of October’s It’s Only Me.
