Cardi B Is Surprising Fans With The Reason Why The ‘Munch’ Remix Collab With Ice Spice Never Got Released

Cardi B recently chatted with Speedy Morman for his 360 With Speedy show, where she revealed why her previously teased collaboration with Ice Spice for the “Munch” remix never hit streaming platforms officially. Fans might be shocked, but as it turns out, Cardi loved the song — her main issue was simply not being pleased about her verse reacing a level of perfection.

“I love the record, I did not like how I sound,” she shared. “You know it being on a drill beat, it’s not as easy as it [looks]… I was like, ‘They’re gonna drag me and they’re going to drag the song bad.’”

Speedy Morman then pointed out that Cardi B had dabbled in drill music before, according to Complex.

“Yeah, but that was a little bit more my speed because it was a little bit more aggressive,” Cardi added. “I’m really good at being more aggressive than being, like, more sexy. I feel like I’m better off being aggressive than being sexy. So I just felt like it was not giving, I was like, ‘I don’t even want to do this to this girl.’ The record is already great, I don’t want to f*ck it up. I just hated my verse… I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is embarrassing. I can’t catch the beat for sh*t.’ Doing drill music is not as easy as people think it is.”

Hopefully fans will get a chance to finally hear it eventually. Until then, check out Cardi B’s full interview, including discussing her Ice Spice collaboration, above.

Latto References Ice Spice’s “Munch” On Offset’s New Album, Fans Speculate Beef

Latto’s new feature on Offset’s Set It Off cut “Fine As Can Be” has fans speculating about rap beef once more. Of course, this is all too common within hip-hop, especially femcees who are pitted against each other and whose alleged subliminals at their peers drive fanbases wild. While much of it is purely speculative and, at worst, creates tensions rather than interprets them, sometimes there can be some weight behind it. However, in the case of the Atlanta rapper’s mention of Ice Spice’s “Munch” on this song, this is probably nothing more than a harmless reference or a really bad diss if she was trying.

That n***a a munch, your booking fee, ate it for lunch,” Latto rapped on “Fine As Can Be.” “I don’t do backends, need it up front, I’m big dog, you b***hes is runts. Don’t pull wigs, don’t pull stunts, I pull triggers and I pull blunts.” As you can see, there isn’t really a direct or subliminal diss in sight on this record, at least these specific parts. Still, the very thought of an Ice Spice mention already sent fans into that zone, and they can find those hints in places they never existed in.

Furthermore, fan theories on Ice Spice and Latto’s beef because quite common this year. It first began with the latter seemingly refusing to remember lyrics by the former- at least, that’s how die-hards interpreted it. Regardless of instances of potential shade like these, the 777 artist denied any narratives that people created from these statements, posts, and the like. Since then, various other songs came out from both artists that seemingly contained subtle digs at each other. For example, on “Butterfly Ku,” the Bronx hitmaker raps “Where she at? On the floor, she getting money, but I’m getting more.”

Whether that’s a “Put It On Da Floor” reference or not, it’s clear that these rumors won’t stop anytime soon. It’s unfortunate that they’re mostly the result of fans pitting a Nicki Minaj collaborator against a Cardi B collaborator and not the result of actual direct grievances with each other. That’s not to say that they should have them, but it would at least be more genuine. Even the Nicki and Cardi cold war is mostly fueled by the fans, so we’ll see if they ever change their ways and let femcees be femcees without sparking animosity. Ice Spice Meets The Ultimate Munch As Thirsty Fan Begs Rapper To Sit On His Face

Throughout her first year in the spotlight, Ice Spice has been single (as far as public knowledge goes). Of course, she was linked to Drake, Lil Tjay, Pete Davidson, and a handful of others as her star continued to rise. Aside from the rumoured celebrity connections, there have also been thousands of fans leaving lustful comments under her thirst traps, many of them claiming the 23-year-old as their wife. While the attention surely boosts the ego, Spice has been too booked and busy to concern herself with the antics of desperate strangers.

She proved this firsthand while backstage at a recent festival performance. While walking past a crowd of fans in one of her signature mini-skirt ensembles, the “Princess Diana” spitter smiled and waved as a few of them chanted her name. Before long, a male voice bellows out above everyone else, “Ice Spice! Sit on my face, please! Sit on my face, please!” Rather than acknowledge the request, the fashionista continues to saunter away with her crew, getting ready to secure yet another bag. Clearly, Spice wasn’t feeling the overzealous festival patron as much as he thought.

Drake Responded To An AI Version Of Him Rapping Ice Spice’s ‘Munch (Feelin’ U),’ And It Was Indeed As Sassy As You’d Think

Drake may be in his “sassy” era, but still, even some things are off-limits for him. The “Search & Rescue” rapper laughed off a hilarious mix-up of him with another rapper but didn’t find a new AI-generated version of him rapping along to Ice Spice’s viral song “Munch (Feelin’ U).

Late last night, the Bronx native released her highly anticipated collaboration with fellow Young Money representative Nicki Minaj. As “Princess Diana (Remix)” began to gain streams, simultaneously, the AI-generated track started to creep back on the users’ timelines. Word of the AI cover eventually got back to the rapper, and he was not at all amused. Taking to his Instagram stories, the musician shared a screengrab of The Shade Room’s reporting with the caption, “This is the final straw AI.”

It is unclear if the entertainer was being sarcastic or truly upset at the fact that an off-brand version of his likeness was being used for cooking up the unauthorized song. But maybe the party responsible for the track could make it up to the rapper by giving it another go this time recording at Drake’s own home studio.

In November, rumors began to circulate that the two were feuding, but Ice Spice has since cleared up the rumors, stating that they are “still cool,” despite the slight shade Drake threw on his track “BackOutsideBoyz.”

Ice Spice Talks Being Inspired By Nicki Minaj & Lil Kim

“Munch (Feelin U)” helped put her on the map, and Ice Spice continues to carve out her space in Hip Hop. The Bronx-born artist emerged last year with a viral hit that captivated fans worldwide, and she’s become the industry’s new “it” artist in the female Rap scene. In a new interview with XXL, Ice details her upbringing as the eldest of six children and wanting to make a mark as an artist.

“New York is full of stars, for real. So, it’s just like growing up around a bunch of stars, I feel like I became one,” she said. “The Bronx definitely made me tough. And it definitely allowed me to read people.”

Before she had a hit under her belt, Ice Spice was a fan who idolized other women in the Rap game. She noted fellow New Yorkers Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim as influences.

“When I saw Nicki, I was so mesmerized. She’s the first female rapper that I seen,” said Spice. “And ever since then, I was kinda set on what I wanted to be.”

Once she decided on her Rap moniker in high school, people began to take her more seriously as an artist. Spice is currently working on her debut EP, which has yet to receive a release date. People are debating whether she’ll be a one-hit-wonder.

However, Ice said she doesn’t want the world to count her out just yet.
