Pharrell Crafts A “L’EGO Odyssey” On New Song For His “Piece By Piece” Biopic: Stream

Pharrell is celebrating the release of his LEGO biopic Piece By Piece and its accompanying soundtrack, featuring some of his best, biggest, and most iconic hits along with a few new records. Moreover, one of these is the “VIRGINIA BOY” remix with Tyler, The Creator, which fans were very receptive to given their chemistry. But don’t sleep on the expansive and wondrous “L’EGO Odyssey,” which combines the producer and fashion creative’s love of drama and atmosphere with some very interesting percussive choices, otherworldly synths, and his trademark earthy playfulness.

Furthermore, “L’EGO Odyssey” kicks off with a spotlit choir, followed by crisp Latin-inspired percussion and rubbery bass. The “Beautiful” star builds the progressive and ascending instrumental with string arrangements, quirky synths, bit-crushed hits of percussion, a brass section, and eventually, more grand and orchestral drums. In addition, it’s an easy song to get absolutely lost in, something that’s always been a quality of Pharrell’s vibrant and more ambitious production efforts. Fortunately, this being a soundtrack cut doesn’t make it as forced, clean, corporate, or corny as you might expect on paper.

What’s more is that the Virginia native has much more to look forward to soon, as he will co-chair the 2025 Met Gala alongside A$AP Rocky. In all his endeavors, Pharrell stays winning. If you haven’t heard “L’EGO Odyssey” or the Piece By Piece soundtrack yet, you can find it on YouTube below or via your favorite streaming service. Down there, you can also find some standout lyrics and the comments section for you to drop your thoughts on the song. As always, come back to HNHH for the best new music drops around the clock.

Pharrell Williams & Tyler, The Creator Rep Their Respective Hometowns On “VIRGINIA Boy – Remix”

Pharrell Williams’ LEGO biopic, Piece By Piece, is in theaters as of yesterday, and we want to start off by congratulating him! The actor, producer, rapper, singer, and everything in between has fans and critics raving about the project so far! It has a respectable review from IMD.b of a 7.1 out of 10, and Rotten Tomatoes has a fan score of 91% and a critic score of 81%! We are wishing him nothing but the best going forward with this bold and creative motion picture. In typical fashion, though, Mr. Williams wasn’t just going to gift us a film, we have some new original music accompanying it.

One of the tracks that we have been replaying heavily has been Pharrell and Tyler, The Creator’s “VIRGINIA Boy – Remix.” The influential legend and his modern-day reincarnation are once again having a great time on a track together as they rap about where they’re from and detail it’s vital features. “Hawthorne, Inglewood, West Side, that side / I will kick, kick, kick, push to the other side / South Bay where they drown if they get it out of line / Dark red, light blue, and they keep a magic wand (Boom),” Tyler raps, for instance. Production of the song is handled entirely by Pharrell and its pure excellence. It exudes swagger right from the jump thanks to its bouncy West Coast beat and its saxophone bits. Give the track a spin with the link below.

Snoop Dogg & Dave East Team Up For “Bosco” Soundtrack Cut “Love You More”

Back in the beginning of the year, NBC streaming subsidiary Peacock released Bosco. The film is based on the true story of one Quawntay “Bosco” Adams, who was handed down a 35-year prison sentence for attempting to possess marijuana. However, with a child on the way, he was going to make sure that he was going to be able to make it to the hospital. But him and a woman from Missouri have to get through constant security and a maximum-security wing of the prison. The film adaptation of the book, Chasin Freedum, hit the streaming platform on February 2. Around the time of this announcement, it was revealed that major hip-hop artists would be on its accompanying soundtrack. DDG, French Montana, and The Game are a few of them.

However, we are going to be talking about the collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Dave East, “Love You More”. Overall, given that it’s for a movie’s soundtrack, the production is very clean. However, it does have a nice rhythm and it’s more of a lovey R&B cut. Helping with that more lowkey vibe is singer WHOISTEVENYOUNG, who is sort of sounds like Chris Brown. This track between these three talents of varying experience is one of 10 on the Bosco (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – Side A. Given the title, we can expect to hear more tracks. However, there doesn’t seem to be any confirmation on that just yet, so we are just speculating right now. You can check out “Love You More” with the link below to it’s new music video.

Childish Gambino Returns With “Lithonia” From His Upcoming Film, “Bando Stone & The New World”

Childish Gambino has returned with the first song from the soundtrack to his upcoming film, Bando Stone & The New World. The track, “Lithonia,” sees Gambino singing about feeling trapped and like no one “gives a f*ck” about him. He’ll be heavily involved in the upcoming project, serving as the director while also starring in and handling the soundtrack for the highly-anticipated film. It follows a former singer stuck on a tropical island during an apocalyptic event. The album will be dropping on July 19, although it’s unclear when the film will hit theaters.

In the comments section on YouTube, fans have been thrilled to finally be getting more music from Gambino. One user joked: “He finally remembered his YouTube account password.” Another wrote: “Damn, love this new sound Gambino’s experimenting with. Great song!” The release comes after Gambino made headlines at the BET Awards for calling the organization over his lack of recognition at their events. His lone BET Award win was for Video of the Year with his hit song, “This is America,” in 2019. Perhaps “Lithonia” and Bando Stone & The New World will finally bring him some more success. Be on the lookout for further updates on Childish Gambino on HotNewHipHop.

JID, BIA, Flo Milli, Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, & More Headline “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die Soundtrack”

The Bad Boys film series has been around for nearly 20 full years. It has become one of the more essential movies franchises over time due to the headlining acts. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have become one of the more iconic buddy cop duos, and their characters, Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, have become defining roles for them. Today, the fourth installment in the saga hit theaters and so far, it is receiving decent reviews. For the music fans out there who enjoy these films, they know that every movie has gotten an accompanying soundtrack. Well, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die continues that tradition.

Ahead of the Epic Records/Sony Music Entertainment release, two singles were released ahead of time. The first of which was “TONIGHT (Bad Boys: Ride Or Die)”, an electro-pop fusion that featured Black Eyed Peas, El Alfa, and Becky G. Then, “LIGHTS OUT”, a pop rap cut with BIA and JID all about achieving greatness, followed second. Across the 10 songs, you are predictably getting a good mix of sounds. Everything from trap rap to pop, Afrobeats, and Latin, it really is a cultural fusion. Other voices you will hear include 21 Lil Harold, who continues to grow in popularity, Sean Paul, Shenseea, Flo Milli, ScarLip, and even Will Smith.

BIA & JID Are Determined To Shine Even With The “LIGHTS OUT”

BIA has been in the headlines over the last few days due to her reignited beef with Cardi B. They have been at each other’s necks for a little bit now, but things have really escalated. The Bronx rapper instigated things with her fiery verse on the “Wanna Be (Remix)” last week and when you read into the bars, it almost seems like all of them were directed at her. That prompted the Massachusetts MC to clap back with “SUE MEEE?”, which was mocked by a few music insiders. Today, though, BIA is taking a break from the feud to collaborate with JID on “LIGHTS OUT”.

This is the first song her and the Atlanta native have worked on, and it lands on the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die Soundtrack. Even though songs made for films tend to get a bad rap for several reasons, this one goes over well. BIA hits you with lowkey flows and singing on the chorus, and JID delivers some clever bars, one of which makes a fun nod to his mega hit “Surround Sound”. This song is all about perseverance and working for your dreams, something that both artists are familiar with.

Black Eyed Peas Team Up With El Alfa & Becky G For “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die” Track “TONIGHT”

In just under a month, icons Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be hitting the big screen as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett once again. The buddy cop film franchise, Bad Boys, will be getting its fourth installment, Ride or Die, in theaters on June 7. Its original motion picture debuted back on April 7, 1995 and one of the actors’ defining roles. While we most likely will not review the film, we are hear to break down a new exclusive track for it called “TONIGHT.”

This is a collaboration between pop/Latin pop legends. Black Eyed Peas, El Alfa, and Becky G were all in the studio to give the movie some extra oomph. However, fans, at least musically speaking, are going to be quite disappointed in this track. “TONIGHT” is one of the most painfully boring records that we have heard this year.

Making music for a film is never easy. We say that because the artists have to pull back a bit when it comes to getting creative for the sake that it matches a scene or tone. Which is why a good number of listeners loathe soundtracks. “TONIGHT” will presumably do what it is was set out for, but looking at it from a critical standpoint, it is wallpaper at best.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “TONIGHT” by Black Eyed Peas, El Alfa, and Becky G? Does this track build any anticipation for the forthcoming soundtrack? Additionally, does it hype up the Bad Boys: Ride or Die film, why or why not? Who had the strongest performance? Doja Cat, Kodak Black, And Adekunle Gold Bring High-Level Performances On Jeymes Samuel-Produced “JEEZU”

The Book of Clarence film and soundtrack produced by British multi-talent Jeymes Samuel are in full effect. The music is being talked about a lot in particular. That is thanks in large part to JAY-Z’s contributions. He and Roc Nation were catalysts in bringing both pieces of art to fruition and they are delivering in a big way. Again, the music is getting a lot of praise, especially the Doja Cat, Kodak Black, and Adekunle Gold track “JEEZU.”

Since the movie focuses on religious themes, so too does the music. Adekunle brings booming vocals right from the jump. The production from Jeymes is epic and soulful with woodwind and organ elements, as well as nicely-placed gunshots. Kodak surprises with great lyricism and honesty about his life. Then, Doja Cat comes in with a hungry attitude.

Her rapping has vastly improved since the release of her controversial Scarlet LP. She is in peak form right now, “Cats dogmatic ’til they see I got the dog in me /
Oh, you mad now? Oh, you hurtin’, shawty need a signature
.” That is just one of the fantastic lines in her verse. Doja is proving again and again that she is a top-flight MC in the current state of hip-hop regardless of how you feel about her.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “JEEZU,” by Doja Cat, Kodak Black, Adekunle Gold, and Jeymes Samuel? Is this the best track from THE BOOK OF CLARENCE (The Motion Picture Soundtrack), why or why not? Who had the better verse and why? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. JAY-Z, D’Angelo, And Jeymes Samuel Compose A Soulful Ballad On “I Want You Forever”

Jeymes Samuel is a true artist. He can really do it all and he proves that with two important projects today. The UK native has just rolled out his brand-new movie, The Book of Clarence, and its accompanying soundtrack. Over the past couple of months, the updates surrounding these pieces of art have gotten plenty of people intrigued. That is especially true for music fans because JAY-Z had a major hand in putting this together.

Hov is the executive producer for the album and film and he did a great job in doing all of that. JAY and Roc Nation were able to recruit loads of talent for the sonics. You can find Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, and Kodak Black, across the tape. In fact, Jay-Z also hit the studio to record a unique verse for “I Want You Forever.” He is alongside the legend of neo-soul, D’Angelo to create a funky and wavy ballad.

There are so many layers to the song, even with the lyrics being fairly minimal outside of JAY’s portion. From the incredible singing from D’Angelo and the background vocalists to the high-pitched synths, and guitar solo at the end, it all works beautifully. Hov’s verse is quite different because it has to fit in with the soulful production. But, even in the twilight of his career, he does a masterful job. Oh, the song is also nine-plus minutes, but JAY is used to that, and we do not mind it.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new song, “I Want You Forever,” by JAY-Z, D’Angelo, and Jeymes Samuel? Is this the best offering from THE BOOK OF CLARENCE (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)? Where does this rank among recent JAY-Z features? Do you like the different style he chose for it? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below.
