In one of the more bizarre stories of the week, Elon Musk challenged tech rival Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight. Zuckerberg promptly accepted, sparking the very real idea that the two tech giants could soon be squaring off.

Furthermore, according to the UFC’s Dana White, the two men are “dead serious” about fighting. It’s unclear if White is angling to get the UFC involved in the bout. Regardless, White believes the fight could become the most profitable bout ever staged.

There are some issues, however. According to their self-professed weights, Musk sits two to three weight classes higher, per standard MMA class definitions. Either Musk would need to cut or Zuckerberg bulk to make the fight manageable. Despite this, bookmakers currently back Zuckerberg. Per Oddspedia, Zuckerberg holds odds of -333 (Bet $3.33 to win $1.00) while Musk has odds of +220 (win $2.20 per $1.00 bet). Now another controversial figure has entered the story – Andrew Tate.

Tate Offers To Coach Musk

Andrew Tate initially rose to fame as a kickboxer, holding a 73-9 record in his professional career. However, Tate is better known as a male lifestyle influencer. Tate’s courses teach men how to make money by shunning women and compassion as evil distractions.

Additionally, Tate is a very vocal anti-vaxxer. This belief is what led him to enter the Musk v Zuck discussions. Tate was banned from all META-owned platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for spreading COVID misinformation. He has apparently taken this personally, as he has cited it as the primary reason why Tahe wishes to train Musk for the fight against Zuckerberg.

However, this may be somewhat difficult to do, given recent developments in Tate’s legal troubles. Romanian officials have officially charged Tate, along with his brother, with rape and human trafficking. Tate has been held on house arrest for several months while prosecutors build a case against him.

While Elon Musk rarely fails to make the news, it’s just not just fight offers that have earned him the spotlight in recent months. Stories relating to his many tech companies have also dominated the news in 2023, rarely for positive reasons.

On April 20, the very public launch of SpaceX’s “Starship” went horribly wrong as engineers were forced to terminate the 77-minute mission after just 4 minutes. The mission, which was meant to demonstrate Starship’s ability to reach a low-Earth orbit, failed due to catastrophic engine failures.

More recently, amid the Titan submersible disaster, people have turned their attention to Musk’s wireless communication service, Starlink. Initial reports, based on OceanGate’s own social media, suggested that the submersible’s communications were powered by Starlink. This has since been debunked. However, it led a number of people to speculate as to whether Musk’s fight offer was a way to divert attention away from this theory.

Celebrity boxing matches have become all the rage in recent years However, the most recently announced fight is perhaps the most bizarre yet. Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight. Perhaps more bizarrely still, Zuckerberg agreed to the bout.

There is no love lost between the two tech giants. Zuckerberg, who already owns Facebook, is reportedly working on a Twitter competitor called Threads. The fight rhetoric came about as a result of a tweet spree from Musk. To many people’s surprise, Zuckerberg accepted the challenge, writing “Send Me Address” on his Instagram story.

While some have claimed that the move is way for Musk to divert headlines away from the connection between Starlink and the Titan submersible disaster, both men are “dead serious” about the fight according to the UFC’s Dana White. In fact, White appears to be all-in on the idea of the two duking it out in the cage.

White Speaks To Monetary Opportunity Of Musk-Zuckerberg Fight

On the sincerity of the fight, White, as mentioned, assured TMZ that both men were “dead serious” about taking part. Furthermore, White gushed about the monetary potential of a Musk v Zuck bout. “The biggest fight of all time was Floyd and Conor, I just think it triples that — it triples what that did, there’s no limit on what that thing can make.”

The potential for a record-breaking fight is certainly there, if not for the reasons White thinks. It’s likely that most viewers would be tuning in purely for the spectacle of two unhealthy white billionaires humiliating themselves while trying to prove that they are the alpha tech dog.

Furthermore, White’s insertion into the proceedings is likely an attempt to get UFC, the premier MMA promotion around, in on the action. While the UFC is not exactly wanting for money, this spectacle could be exactly the thing the promotion needs in light of Paul v. Diaz and Crawford v. Spence Jr.

UFC Going All In On Spectacle Fights

Musk v Zuck is not the only thing marquee fight that the UFC is angling for. There are also reports that a fight offer has been formally submitted to Tyson Fury by the promotion. That “hybrid fight” bout would pit Fury, one of the all-time greatest boxers against Jon Jones, the UFC superstar.

The idea of a Fury-Jones fight came about as a result of comments made by Joe Rogan. “You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet?” Rogan asked. “If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all of my chips on black. [Fury] doesn’t have a fucking chance in hell of making it out of that room.”

As Fury gave an expletive-laden response to Rogan, Jones also got his shots in on the heavyweight champion. “Hey Tyson, it seems like Joe may have struck a nerve,” Jones said on Twitter. “I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage.” Furthermore, Jones issued a challenge to Fury in a follow-up tweet. “If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana a call. I’ll help you out.”

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is a meme among MMA fans. The Brazilian fighter debuted in 2005 and went 16-3 in his first 19 fights. This led the UFC to extend an invitation to Bigfoot, who made his promotion debut at UFC 146. While he lost to Cain Velasquez in that fight, he earned back-to-back victories in his next two bouts. After suffering three losses and a no-contest in his next four fights, he took down Soa Palelei at UFC 190.

But that’s where Silva’s success ended and his meme status began. At the time of writing, Bigfoot has lost his 11 most recent MMA fights. He was cut from the UFC in 2016, after losing his three subsequent fights following his over Palelei. Despite this, he has not found success in other, lower-tier promotions. Furthermore, Silva has failed spectacularly at all other combat sports he has tried his hand at. Kickboxing? 0-2. Professional boxing? 0-1. Bare-knuckle boxing? 0-1. Silva has truly ascended to sporting meme status.

Silva initially retired in December 2022, saying that “everyone had a limit.” However, he then un-retired in order to fight Salim El Ouassaidi at the first iteration of Kingdom Fighting. Losing via unanimous decision, Silva re-retired after the fight. Despite this, Bigfoot just can’t stay away from MMA it seems. Speaking on social media, Silva announced that he was un-retiring again and was challenging El Ouassaidi to a rematch.

The allegations were out in a letter from the woman’s attorney to the NBA, McGregor, and the Heat. She alleges that security guards separated the alleged victim from her friend and forced her into a men’s bathroom. McGregor was allegedly already waiting in there for her. The MMA fighter then proceeded to “violently kiss” the woman before forcing her to perform oral sex on him, Mitchell alleges. McGregor has denied the allegations. A representative for the fighter said, “Mr. McGregor welcomes the investigation, which he firmly believes will show the claims against him are false. After not responding to the demand for money made by claimant’s counsel, she turned to the media to apply pressure. This is no more than a shakedown.”

After the story was broken by TMZ, the outlet also published a video shot prior to the alleged assault. McGregor is seen leaving a bathroom with his personal security, taking a woman by the hand and leading her back into the bathroom. The footage appears to contradict claims that the victim was forced into the bathroom by arena security. Furthermore, an additional video appeared to show McGregor with his alleged victim about 30 minutes after the alleged rape reportedly took place. UFC star Jon Jones is beefing with a lot of people right now. He continues to antagonize Francis Ngannou as the two fighters stare daggers from their rival promotions. Meanwhile, rumors of Jones fighting boxer Tyson Fury continue to swirl. Fury’s fueling of these rumors has gone as far as to confuse Ngannou, who can’t tell if Fury wants the fight or is tired of the comparison.

Fury did not reveal what the specifics of the fight deal were. However, the offer means that a very could very much be on the cards before the end of the year. According to TMZ, the newest video they have obtained was shot at 12:40am on the morning of June 10. It shows McGregor and his alleged victim talking inside the Kaseya Center club. TMZ claims that this video was shot around 30 minutes after the victim claimed to have been raped by McGregor. McGregor’s attorneys have once again proclaimed the fighter’s innocence based on this evidence. “”While the claimant’s story has changed yet again,” Barbara R. Llanes said in a statement, “our account of the evening has never changed. This video only reinforces our position. We look forward to the swift conclusion of the investigation.”

The woman reported the assault on the morning of June 11. She was reportedly encouraged to retain an attorney by a police officer whom she spoke to at the time. In Mitchell’s letter, which was sent earlier this week, the attorney lays out her client’s preferred method of restitution. According to Mitchell, her client is seeking a settlement as opposed to litigation. The letter reportedly did not specify the amount of damages being sought.

McGregor had a fairly prominent role in Game 4 of the Finals. As well as attending the game, he was scheduled to do an advertisement for a brand of pain relief spray. However, his involvement will be remembered for hospitalizing the man playing the Heat’s mascot during the promotional skit. Conor McGregor Reveals Fiance Is Pregnant With Fourth Child

It’s been a busy few weeks for MMA veteran Conor McGregor. He is currently appearing as a coach on Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. However, things are going poorly as his team of young fighters has been repeatedly outclassed by Michael Chandler’s stable of more experienced veterans. Fans are still eagerly awaiting the announcement of the expected fight between Chandler and McGregor. It would be McGregor’s first fight since an injury and back-to-back losses to Dustin Pourier in 2021. Jake Paul has also singled out McGregor as a future fight target after his bout his Nate Diaz in August.

Then came his viral moment during the NBA Finals. While promoting a pain relief spray during Game 4 in Miami, McGregor did some real damage to Burnie, the Miami Heat’s mascot. A 1-2 punch combo from McGregor led to the man inside the Burnie costume actually being sent to the hospital. However, McGregor has said that the man is doing “good”. McGregor Reveals Partner’s Pregnancy

Appearing on LIVE with Mark and Kelly, McGregor revealed that his fiance Dee Devlin is expecting their fourth child. “We’ve also got another on the way … so there’s a lot going on.” While McGregor did not specify how far along Devlin was, he did not that there were a couple more weeks until they learned the sex of the baby. Additionally, he expressed his excitement to receive that news.

McGregor and Devlin have been together since around 2008, which also marks the start of McGregor’s MMA career. This will be their fourth child together, after Conor Jr. (6), Croia (4), and Rian (2). Conor McGregor Says Miami Heat Mascot Is Doing “Good”

Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals will be remembered for two things. First, there was the result. The Denver Nuggets took a 3-1 series lead on the back of a 13-point victory. Secondly, few will forget how Conor McGregor knocked out the mascot of the Miami Heat while promoting a pain relief spray.

Partway through the third quarter, the UFC veteran came onto the court alongside Burnie, the Heat’s anthropomorphized fireball mascot. Burnie donned novelty boxing gloves before almost immediately being rocked by a 1-2 punch combo from McGregor. As the mascot writhed on the floor, McGregor sprayed him with the pain relief aerosol the stunt had been set up to promote. However, it was later reported that the man inside the mascot costume had been sent to the ER and received pain medication following the incident. McGregor was widely criticized for taking things too far. Furthermore, UFC fighter Belal Muhammad went as far as to claim that “drugs made him think he was in a real fight.”

Conor McGregor Provides Burnie Update

However, things are not as dire as they first appeared, at least according to McGregor. Speaking with the media in New York City, McGregor attempted to settle any doubts, and criticism, about the viral incident in Miami. “The mascot is good. It was a skit, and all is well,” the MMA veteran said. “I spent a lot of time with him afterward, we talked it out, everything is great. It was all part of the show!” Despite McGregor’s assurances, it was likely not the promotion that Tidl Sport Recovery Spray was looking for.

McGregor might want to focus his efforts on the ring to avoid future embarrassment. The 34-year-old fighter is currently serving as a coach on Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. However, McGregor’s stable of prospects has so far been no match for Michael Chandler’s stable of more-experienced fighters. The season is expected to end with an as-yet-unannounced bout between McGregor (22-6) and Chandler (23-8). It would be McGregor’s first return to the Octagon since injury sidelined him in 2021.
