Mase Slams Shannon Sharpe After NFL Legend Calls Him A Fake Pastor

Mase has fired back at Shannon Sharpe following his recent description of the rapper as a “gangster pastor.” The shots between the two came after Mase trolled Sharpe for feuding with Mike Epps. Mase addressed the situation during the latest episode of It Is What It Is.

“Your boy chose to target me about the sets and the working out and all that. He called me a fake pastor and all that. I want to address it,” he told his co-host, Cam’ron. “Listen Shannon, I’m not the one to play with.” From there, he brought up several issues with Sharpe. For one, he mentioned the Club Shay Shay host’s back-and-forth with the father of NBA star Ja Morant. He also further complained about the feud with Epps. “If you are for Black people, this is not the way to carry yourself,” he said at one point. Mase also noted the respectful way Sharpe behaved with Skip Bayless, as compared to other Black voices in media.

Mase continued: “He said I’m a pastor-gangster or something like that. And I would tell him, for your spiritual comment, that was ignorant because if you know anything about faith, all the people that were apostles and pastors, they died horrific deaths, they went to jail, they were hung upside-down. So it’s as gangster as you could be when it talks about doing for others and being tough.” Check out his full response below.

Mike Epps Hits Back At Shannon Sharpe And Gets The Opposite Reaction He Was Hoping For

Recently, Mike Epps went off on Shannon Sharpe for his interviews with Katt Williams and even Mo’Nique. However, the way he went about it, was homophobic and accusatory at the same time. “That n***a Shannon Sharpe called me trying to do an interview. I said ‘no Medea, I ain’t doing no interview with you’ – so you can sit across from me and look at my balls,” Epps said. “The n***a sh*t is called Shay Shay the n*gga is telling you. Put a wig on that motherf*cker and tell me if that ain’t motherf*cking Madea sister.”

Subsequently, Sharpe took to his podcast last night, where he had plenty to say about Epps. Overall, he made sure to let his feelings on the comedian be known. “Mention my name again, and I’m gonna put the DM … and I don’t like doing this. But you’re lying. I don’t care about all that other stuff.  You can say I’m gay … I don’t care about that. ‘Cause I won’t chase a lie. But I won’t let you lie on my name,” Sharpe said. “Say my name again, and I’m gonna release the DM. Because you’re lying. Mike Epps Continues The Feud

Above, you can see Epps’ response to Sharpe’s rant from last night. Epps told Shannon that he could come and see him at the All-Star game. Furthermore, he referred to Sharpe’s podcast as “black on black” crime. Unfortunately for Epps, he did not get the response that he was probably hoping for. Many felt like his comments were hypocritical and that Shannon is in the right. “Mike lied because he wanted to be apart of the conversation soo bad got caught,” one person wrote in TheNeighborhoodTalk comments section. “Mike Epps mad he can’t sit with Shannon sharp that the real tea,” said another.

Shannon Sharpe Rips Mike Epps To Shreds For Spreading Rumor That Shannon Might Be Gay

Shannon Sharpe caught some strays recently from the likes of Mike Epps. Epps was at a comedy show where he brought up Shannon and his infamous Club Shay Shay podcast. Overall, Epps seems upset about the things that have been said about him on the show. None of these words have come from Sharpe himself, however, that did not stop Epps from talking poorly about the NFL legend. Epps even accused Sharpe of being gay.

“That n***a Shannon Sharpe called me trying to do an interview. I said ‘no Medea, I ain’t doing no interview with you’ – so you can sit across from me and look at my balls,” Epps said. “The n***a sh*t is called Shay Shay the n*gga is telling you. Put a wig on that motherf*cker and tell me if that ain’t motherf*cking Madea sister.” Of course, Shannon saw these comments and was not happy about them, at all. During last night’s episode of Nightcap, he went off on Epps. He even threatened to release DMs. Needless to say, he had time.

Mike Epps’s 7 Most Hilarious Film Roles

Since his memorable 1995 performance for Def Comedy Jam, Mike Epps has become one of the most celebrated comedians of our time. His captivating humor and diverse acting roles in films like Survivor’s Remorse and Roll Bounce attest to a level of skill that continues to draw admiration from fans everywhere. Transitioning between television, movies, and the stage, this multi-faceted star is sure to keep audiences in stitches for years to come.

Most recently, Ice Cube declared that Epps is funnier than Chris Tucker during an appearance on the FULL SEND podcast. Still, it’s clear that Mike Epps is the go-to comedic genius of our time. Here are seven movies starring Mike Epps you should watch.

7. Friday After Next (2002)

Leading audiences into Friday After Next, viewers instantly discover the comical nuances of ghetto life through Craig’s (Ice Cube) and Day-Day’s (Mike Epps) plight during the holiday season. When they come face-to-face with Damon, their landlord’s angered son, they seek solace as security guards in a nearby mall – managed by Craig and Day-Day’s fathers, Mr. Jones and Uncle Elroy. Captivatingly depicting the absurdity and distress of urban life, Friday After Next artfully displays a humorous and heartfelt narrative.

6. Meet The Blacks (2016)

Mike Epps stars as Carl Black, a man from Chicago’s poverty-stricken streets who moves his family to the upscale suburb of Beverly Hills. Here, even the African American security guard finds him incompatible with the affluent neighborhood of White Sky. Despite facing skepticism from his neighbors, including the vigilant community watch captain and his wife, Jim and Mary Smith, Carl bravely proclaims himself the new resident. The Smith couple ironically remark on Carl’s surname, repeating an unduly familiar jest without much humor.

5. Soul Men (2008)

Mike Epps appeared in five movies released in 2008, including the musical comedy Soul Men. The dynamic duo of Samuel L. Jackson and the late Bernie Mac star as Louis and Floyd, two singers with a troubled past who reunite to pay tribute to their beloved bandleader after his death. Despite their differences, the estranged friends embark on a comical cross-country road trip to the Apollo Theater for an emotional farewell performance. Epps plays the role of Floyd’s nephew, Duane.

4. All About The Benjamins (2002)

Ice Cube and Mike Epps unite to discover a gang of diamond robbers in the 2002 action-packed comedy All About the Benjamins. With Ice Cube’s bounty hunter yearning for fame and Epps’ con artist desperate to reclaim a lost lotto ticket, they maneuver through thrilling twists and turns as they attempt to track down the criminals.

Reggie Wright (Mike Epps) takes a daring risk in a determined effort to escape the ghetto, and there’s an amusingly absurd yet exquisite look at cultural triumph in his frenetic, streetwise vernacular. As Miami basks in the sunlight of another Friday, Reggie is busy stealing items from a supermarket with two elderly criminal accomplices while his girlfriend Gina (Eva Mendes) prays for a lucky outcome in the lottery draw. His reliance on the system which has become his prison – its welfare payments, its Medicaid – as well as his deep-seated fear of achieving freedom, are all cleverly expounded in his fast-talking dialogue.

3. Janky Promoters (2009)

Ice Cube and Mike Epps star in the 2009 American comedy film, Janky Promoters where they take on the roles of two ambitious yet misguided promoters who aim to host rapper Jeezy at their concert. However, their lack of knowledge leads them into a chaotic web of trouble. The movie is based on promoter Chris Ricci’s story, now a member of Modesto City Council.

Conversely, Russell Redds (Cube) and Jellyroll (Epps) make a daring escape in from an irate crowd. As they speed away, Jellyroll’s comic delivery of bluster, bravado, and fear highlights his lack of sophistication as an aspiring promoter.

2. Dolemite Is My Name (2019)

Epps took on an uncommon role as actor Jimmy Lynch in the highly acclaimed biographical comedy Dolemite is My Name. Concurrently, Portraying Rudy Ray Moore’s (Eddie Murphy) trusty sidekick and confidant, Lynch appeared in the original 1975 film Dolemite. Craig Brewer directs a Netflix original about Moore’s journey to independently fund his movie, showcasing his arduous process with remarkable precision.

1. The Hangover (2009)

Mike Epps portrayed the iconic Black Doug in The Hangover, the most successful movie of Epps’ career to date. Consequently, this smash-hit comedy grossed nearly half a billion dollars and went on to spawn two sequels. Basically, three tipsy pals frantically hunt for their missing friend Doug, whose wedding is impending in Las Vegas. They trace his steps from the prior night’s debauchery and are met with unexpected revelations as they go.

Ice Cube Weighs In On Mike Epps Versus Chris Tucker

Mike Epps versus Chris Tucker is a debate between two titans of the Black comedy in the 1990s. Epps got his big acting break in 2000’s Next Friday, playing Day-Day Jones, the sidekick to Ice Cube’s Craig Jones. Meanwhile, Tucker got his break in the first Friday film in 1995. Later in the decade, Tucker would become well-known for his starring role in the Rush Hour films alongside Jackie Chan.

Both men had a crucial role in the Friday franchise. Furthermore, both men had helped define comedy for a generation of people. But who was funnier? There are arguments for both but now Ice Cube has weighed in on the debate.

“Mike, to me, is funnier, just as a pure comic,” Cube said. Furthermore, he acknowledged that they wouldn’t have had Epps’ Day-Day if Tucker hadn’t left the Friday franchise after the first film. “Yeah, I’m glad he didn’t do it,” Cube said. “‘Cause we wouldn’t have Mike.” Furthermore, Tucker was reportedly offered $12 million to reprise his role as Smokey but declined over “religious reasons.” Cube elaborated on this, explaining that, “Yeah, we wanted him,” he said. “He turned it down. You’ll hear a thousand different stories, but we wanted to pay him $12 million to do that movie and he turned it down. He said it was for religious reasons…He didn’t wanna cuss and he didn’t wanna smoke weed on camera.”

Meanwhile, Tucker gave his own version of events in 2021. “I never really told people this ’cause I kinda forgot about it … I didn’t want to represent everybody smoking weed,” he said. “I kind of made it more personal than a movie … I wanted to move on because when I did something, I never wanted to do it again. Back then, I was all about going to the next level. I had a good sense of like, ‘OK, now it’s time to go do an action movie.’”

Mike Epps Busted With Loaded Gun In Airport: Report

Mike Epps could face criminal charges after police discovered a loaded firearm in his luggage at an Indianapolis airport. Per TMZ, authorities responded to an investigation revolving around firearms. TSA allegedly found a gun in Epps’s luggage as he walked through a checkpoint at the Indianapolis airport. The police report said the comedian was in town for a show and forgot the gun in his bag. Police said TSA discovered a .38 Special Airweight in his luggage with four rounds loaded. However, none were found in the chamber. The police report said Epps was in town for a show and forgot the gun in his bag. Police said TSA discovered a .38 Special Airweight in his luggage with four rounds loaded, though none in the chamber.

Ultimately, police confiscated the firearm without pressing immediate charges against Mike Epps. Though he was briefly detained, he wasn’t arrested. Authorities said that they took the gun and the ammo into evidence. Meanwhile, the police report has now been sent to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. The Prosecutor’s Office will determine whether or not they’ll lay charges against Mike Epps. Epps could be in some serious hot water if the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office ends up moving forward with the case.

Mike Epps Cracks Ja Morant Joke

Mike Epps hasn’t directly responded to his run-in with the police in Indianapolis, though it seems that he isn’t stressing out over it either. The comedian hit Instagram where he poked fun at his detainment with a photo of a man playing basketball inside of a prison facility against another inmate. “Me and j morant this morning,” he wrote with several laughing emojis, alluding to Morant’s recent controversy surrounding his Instagram Live stream.

Ja Morant, unfortunately, faces a police investigation following a live stream on Instagram where he appeared to flash a gun during a visit to a Colorado strip club. The Grizzlies confirmed a two-game suspension, though it seems things could get worse for their point guard. The NBA states a player can be suspended for upwards of 50 games if found guilty of carrying a firearm “at a facility or venue owned, operated or being used by a team, the NBA or any league-related entity, and whenever a player is traveling on any NBA-related business.” Check out Epps’s response above. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates surrounding Mike Epps’ gun case.
