The first-ever “Eagle for a Day” adventure began in the afternoon. Attending kids and families were welcomed inside the NovaCare Complex by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and fellow REFORM co-chair and award-winning rapper Meek Mill. The guests were given exclusive Eagles swag and bags to use while participating in a Jr. Combine experience. Children heard from head coach Nick Sirianni inside the NovaCare Complex indoor practice facility, tossed passes with Meek, and ran the 40-yard dash with Philadelphia Eagles players Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, Jordan Mailata, and Dallas Goedert. Each youngster signed their one-day contract with the Eagles during the Free Agent event, including a unique team jersey presentation. The kids then enjoyed an exclusive VIP tour of the facilities. The “Eagle for a Day” event ended at the facility auditorium with a memorable speech by quarterback Jalen Hurts, Michael Rubin, and Meek Mill. Howie Roseman, the Eagles executive vice president and general manager, welcomed the 12/13/22 free agent class.

After that, participating families traveled to the Wells Fargo Center for the “76ers VIP Gameday experience,” where young guests could join a close-quarters Q&A with 76ers head coach Doc Rivers. All the kids arrived at the court just before tip-off to participate in a unique pre-game bell-ringing ceremony with Michael and Meek. Families of visitors could watch the Philadelphia Sixers vs. Sacramento Kings game from courtside seats and VIP suite boxes. The kids entertained the crowd during halftime with a play on the court.

The attendees of the event were brought together by Above All Odds/Philadelphia Community Bail Fund, the Center for Family Services, and the Pennsylvania Chapter of National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., nonprofit partners of REFORM Alliance. Soon after, attendees were greeted to their VIP suites for supper and treated to a fantastic holiday fit package that included personalized Sixers jerseys and Fanatics apparel.

Rick Ross Wants To Buy Part Of The Philadelphia 76ers From Michael Rubin

Philadelphia 76ers part owner Michael Rubin is looking to sell his share of the team and Rick Ross wants in. On Wednesday, June 22, Rubin announced his impending departure from the ownership group, citing the growing responsibilities of his ownership of the Fanatics brand. With Fanatics launching a sports-betting division in the near future (a conflict of interest for anyone working in sports, let alone owning a team), Rubin is choosing his burgeoning business over his fandom. He explained the decision in a statement that he also posted on Instagram.

It didn’t take long for the business-minded Rick Ross to chime in in the comments, writing “I’ll buy his 10% lol.” While the “lol” implies that he’s joking, a lot of truth is said in jest. It would certainly make sense for Ross to cop a portion of a sports team. He’s a fixture courtside at his hometown Miami Heat games, he often makes savvy business decisions, and he’s certainly been cutting costs across the board, so he might just have the capital to buy in — provided he can put together an investment group to cover the difference. With a reported net worth of $45 million, he’s got a ways to go to reach the reported value of Rubin’s share, which has certainly grown from when the owner purchased it for $290 million in 2011. Maybe Jay-Z or Meek Mill can help out.

Rick Ross Wants To Buy Michael Rubin’s Ownership Stake In The Philadelphia 76’ers

Rick Ross Reveals Codeine Abuse Caused Seizures

Rick Ross has been looking for the chance to own a part of a sports team for a minute. He has gone on social media asking the Miami Dolphins to let him become a minority owner in the franchise, and with the news of Michael Rubin selling his 10% stake in the Philadelphia 76’ers, Ross is looking for his chance to add “minority owner” to his resumé.

Rubin had taken to social media to announce that he was selling his 10% stake in the franchise to in order to expand the Fanatics brand into the sports gambling industry. This would eventually create a conflict of interest as an owner.

In the comments section of Rubin’s Instagram post, Rick Ross commented, saying that he would like to buy the 10% stake in the franchise.

“I’ll buy his 10% lol,” Rozay commented.

The ownership group is headed by Joshua Harris and David Blitzer. The two also bought a piece of the New Jersey Devils hockey team for $320 million in 2013.

Rubin purchased his 10% stake in the 76’ers back in 2011 for about $290 million. Since then, the franchise has grown and is most likely worth more. Despite what the internet might say Ross’s net worth is, we’re sure he’ll find a way to buy into the NBA franchise if he’s really serious about it.

Meek Mill Donates $15M To Philadelphia Schools Alongside Kevin Hart And Michael Rubin

Even before a global pandemic knocked the education world on its hindquarters, some school systems were already hard-hit by budget issues — districts like Philadelphia providing some of the best examples. However, local celebrities are pitching in to make a difference. Today, Philadelphian rapper Meek Mill, along with hometown comic hero Kevin Hart and 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, announced plans to donate $15 million to 110 Philadelphia schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

The $15 million figure marks a huge jump from the last big donation Meek and Rubin made in 2020 when they created a $2 million scholarship fund to help students through the pandemic and coinciding lockdowns. It also sees the partners following through on a commitment they made in 2019. During an interview on The Breakfast Club, Rubin said, “We care about education a lot. I don’t know if you guys saw, Meek and I have been talking a lot about education. We’re actually gonna commit, between Meek and I in Pennsylvania, millions of dollars to Pennsylvania schools this year.”

Meek himself has worked for years to give back to his hometown, partnering with Puma to revitalize local basketball courts, and organizing backpack and school supply giveaways. Although he was knocked in 2020 for being cheap toward some kids who were selling water, it looks like he really is trying to make good on his promises for the city’s youth.

Meek Mill And Travis Scott Reportedly Needed To Be Separated After An Altercation On Fourth Of July

So, two things became readily apparent over the holiday weekend: One, Michael Rubin’s party in the Hamptons was the place to be for the Fourth Of July, and two, Meek Mill really can’t stop getting into altercations with his fellow entertainers. Since patching things up with Drake in 2018 (incidentally, the last time Meek put out a full-length album), he’s had run-ins with his ex Nicki Minaj and her husband in LA, Tekashi 69 in a parking garage in Miami, and even strangers on Clubhouse.

At Rubin’s party on Sunday, he reportedly added another name to the list, and this one was even more bewildering than usual. According to Complex via Page Six, the Philadelphia rapper needed to be separated during a heated argument with Travis Scott in which the two rappers yelled at each other until they were led away from each other before it could get physical. Sources say Meek was still yelling, even after Travis left. There’s no information on what the fight was about, only that there may very well be video because heaven forbid two grown men air out their grievances without a bunch of bystanders filming it — something Meek himself has alluded to obliquely with his comments about blogs only covering his “goofy sh*t.” He could also consider doing slightly less of it though.

Before the fight effectively ended the party, though, it seemed everyone was in high spirits, as the other video to emerge caught Lil Uzi Vert showing off his breakdancing skills.
