Metro Boomin Calls Out Rappers Who Are “Scared To Post” “WE DON’T TRUST YOU,” Fans Suspect 21 Savage & Drake Are In Crosshairs

Metro Boomin is one of the most successful producers of all time, but especially over the last year and change. Since 2022’s HEROES & VILLAINS, the St. Louis, Missouri beat crafter has continued to churn number one record after number one record. In fact, he just scored his fourth top charting project on the Billboard Hot 200 with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. It sold 251,000 units in its first week, making it the biggest debut of 2024 overall so far. However, even with all the well-earned acclaim, Metro Boomin still feels some people are “scared” to show it love.

A tweet from the hitmaker has been gaining some attention overnight in which he puts unnamed people on blast. Shortly after him and Future grabbed the top of both the Hot 200 and 100, Metro tweeted, “I see a lot of niggas been scared to post the album too#IForgiveButIDontForget #WEDONTTRUSTYOU” Fans got to speculation and theory in the comments section as to who this could be for possibly. The obvious victim that people were throwing around was Drake since of the “Like That” diss from Kendrick Lamar.

However, there is a fairly large camp that feels 21 Savage could be in the crosshairs as well. We believe that could have something to do with the Georgia rapper being close with Drake, especially after Her Loss. If you remember that album was getting more praise than H&V and Metro was not too happy about it. In the same breath it would also be a big switch up in tone about one the producer’s most frequent collaborators. They just worked pretty closely together on Savage’s 2024 record american dream. Fans are hoping that Metro and 21 are not beefing. One fan replied, “Bro I swear to God please don’t stop working with 21 Savage that will be a HUGE void in hip hop.”

Future, Metro Boomin, & The Weeknd Reunite Once Again For “Young Metro” Music Video

Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative project WE DON’T TRUST YOU has been out for a full weekend now and fans messing with it heavily. While we feel there are some sleepier and just meh moments on it, it is definitely a solid listen. Of course, everyone on the internet cannot stop discussing Kendrick Lamar’s wild appearance on “Like That.” Drake has somewhat responded to the chatter around it in typical fashion, but still crickets from J. Cole. But do not let this song distract you from the fact that there is plenty of other hot tracks on the LP. For example, “Young Metro” is one to keep your eye on, as the music video is out now.

During the weekend, the features were hidden from us, so it was really cool to hear The Weeknd appear, albeit minimally. It was especially surprising (or maybe not) to hear him do a feature after he said he would not be doing anymore. Clearly, Future and Metro know that this will be one of the hits from the record with “Young Metro” being the second track to get a music video. After watching the “Type S***” visuals, it is clear what the direction for the tone is.

The “Young Metro” video sports some trippy, mysterious and dark shots all throughout. Hidji World and Omar Jones are credited as the directors, and they bring some cool edits into the mix. There are some spinning and slow-motion elements that complement the angelic qualities of the track. Overall, the visuals and song itself are both very good and it figures to be one of the go-to moments from WE DON’T TRUST YOU.

Metro Boomin, Future, & Travis Scott Deliver The Dreamy Fan-Favorite “Cinderella”

Most hip-hop fans would agree on the fact that Soundcloud has given us incredible snippets. To play devil’s advocate, it may ruin the listening experience when a song gets leaked and then eventually released. But in the case of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Cinderella,” fans of the unfinished version were dying to see it get officially dropped. There was some speculation that this was going to be on UTOPIA given the time it made its way onto Soundcloud.

Instead, its home is Future and Metro Boomin’s eagerly awaited WE DON’T TRUST YOU. The album has been getting everyone talking in its first day out thanks to Kendrick Lamar’s surprise appearance. His shots toward Drake and J. Cole have been the main focus of this project for the most part. But “Cinderella” is still a big deal as well and hearing Travis Scott on it still was the cherry on top.

The unreleased version feels a little louder, while this official release relies a little heavier on the atmosphere from Future and Travis’ gravelly and subdued flows. Additionally, the twinkly synths that give the beat so much character are more prevalent and sound a little different too. Some are already complaining that the trio should have just stuck with the one everybody was used to. But we are here to say that Metro, Future, and Travis still did an incredible job keeping the spirit of the fan-favorite with the welcomed tweaks.

Kendrick Lamar Joins Future & Metro Boomin On Fiery New Cut “Like That”

Kendrick Lamar is easily one of the biggest artists in the rap game, and getting a feature from him can be pretty rare these days. Overall, he has been a bit reclusive as he only pops out on his Finsta from time to time. However, Metro Boomin and Future have a ton of influence, and they were able to convince him to join them on We Don’t Trust You. The new album dropped last night and fans are loving the project so far. That said, all eyes are currently on the Kendrick collab “Like That” and for good reason.

This song begins with some nice melodic production that sounds hard in your headphones. It is the perfect beat for Future, who glides over the track at the beginning and end. In the middle, we find Kendrick who spits venomous bars about his peers. On numerous occasions, he makes reference to Drake and even J. Cole, although he doesn’t say them by name. Either way, it is clear that he wants sole ownership of “best rapper alive” and does not care about the “Big Three” claims.

“Motherfuck the big three, n***a, it’s just big me,” Kendrick says on the song. Since J. Cole and Drake have been on tour, some have been saying that Kendrick is no longer better than those two. Instead, there are now debates about Cole being a better lyricist. There are even fans who think Drake would wash Kendrick in a diss track competition. Well, it seems like we are about to find out now that Lamar has broken the internet with his new verse.
