Angel Reese Stuns At The Met Gala: “I’ve Always Dreamed Of This Moment”

Angel Reese, NCAA champion and the 7th overall pick in the WNBA draft participated in her first Met Gala last night. The LSU star made one of her dreams come true by attending the prestigious fashion gathering that features a who’s who of A-list celebrities. Consensus is the newest member of the Chicago Sky’s outfit, and it was, of course, a slam dunk. Reese also celebrated her 22nd birthday as she strutted the red carpet in her 16Arlington by Marco Capaldo gown. Angel’s outfit was a glittery mint-green dress with a lot of detail and was sure to turn heads at the function. 

Reese, also known as the “Bayou Barbie,” has been gaining recognition in the fashion world through her various sponsorships and stylish personality. The forward, who the Chicago Sky selected with the seventh pick in the WNBA draft in April, made an impressive debut at the Met Gala with her incredible dress. The shimmering black and silver gown was a sight to behold. The WNBA has plenty of stars about to debut in the league, and it’s a big deal that Angel Reese is getting this type of recognition off the court at such a prestigious and popular event.

Angel Reese’s Met Gala Look

Angel Reese tweeted before the big event, “Training camp in the morning, Met Gala at night, preseason game tomorrow. Just another day in the life of Angel Reese.” The rising star is in the middle of preparing for the WNBA season. The Chicago Sky played their first preseason game last Friday against the Minnesota Lynx. Reese had 13 points on 2-of-8 shooting with nine rebounds in 24 minutes. Reese looked comfortable on a WNBA court, and Chicago Sky fans are excited about her and her fellow rookie South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso.

Unfortunately, Cardoso suffered a shoulder injury that will keep her out for several weeks. It’s an unfortunate development, but hopefully, her recovery goes well, and we will get to see her and Angel Reese on the court together. All in all, Angel Reese is looking to become a superstar on and off the court, and we are here for it.

Doja Cat Wore A See-Through Wet T-Shirt Dress To The 2024 Met Gala And Explained The Meaning Of The Look

The Met Gala annually brings out the best looks and creativity the fashion world has to offer, and given that Doja Cat is Doja Cat, she leaned into the creativity element of the whole thing at yesterday’s event. This year’s theme was “The Garden Of Time,” and Doja showed up in a white t-shirt dress that appeared to be soaking wet, and as a result was largely see-through (making the videos below at least slightly NSFW).

While the connection between Doja’s outfit and the Met Gala theme may not be immediately evident, she explained in an Entertainment Tonight interview. She said, “I know that people are going to do flowers, but my flower of choice is the most-used flower, and it’s cotton. And so I wanted to do a white t-shirt, also because a white t-shirt is timeless and it felt very poetic to choose this, and I knew it wasn’t going to blend in too much and I don’t really like to blend in.”

As for how she achieved the wet look, Doja initially said it was water before conceding (“I’m not supposed to give the secret,” she said) that she used hair gel to maintain the saturated appearance.

Doja Cat is constantly being invited to the Met Gala and for good reason. Overall, she is a massive star who fans want to see. Furthermore, she is someone who always tends to come through with something provocative on the red carpet. One can just harken back to the time that she dressed up as Karl Lagerfeld’s cat. That said, the Met Gala was on Monday, and fans were curious as to what kind of outfit Doja would come through with. Although, this year’s Met Gala was certainly overshadowed by current events, such as Israel-Palestine and Drake–Kendrick Lamar.

Regardless, there were quite a few big-name celebrities at the event this year, and Doja was one of them. Prior to the Met Gala, she was seen with her boyfriend around New York, wearing some interesting outfits. That uniqueness was certainly delivered at the Met Gala, as shown down below. Instead of wearing some sort of dress or wild gown like the rest of the celebrities, Doja went in a much different direction. As you can see, she was wearing what appeared to be some sort of wet t-shirt dress.

The theme this year was “Garden of Time” and Doja says her flower of choice was cotton as that is the most used flower. Overall, fans were rocking with her explanation, and found the concept dope. “She ate wit that response that’s dope and creative,” one commenter on The Neighborhood Talk wrote. “she’s the lady gaga of this generation and i love it,” said another. Needless to say, this was a huge win for the artist and we’re sure she will be invited back next year.

Leave it to Cardi B to be among the most talked-about and eye-popping fits at the Met Gala last night (Monday, May 6). Moreover, she wore a black gown with gothic leanings and a large headdress to match, along with diamond and emerald jewelry, but the real talking point here was the skirt, which spread out to create a pretty big black flower around her feet. In fact, the toxic-men-blaster needed up to nine assistants to be able to fan out the dress beneath her. “I’m that b***h and you b***hes could never,” she told a red carpet interviewer when she was down to seven assistants instead of nine, speaking on how that help made her feel. “Before y’all consider comparing yourself to me, b***h.”

Elsewhere during that conversation, Cardi B joked about the sheer weight of her dress and pointed out that she could detach the skirt so she could dance. For her afterparty that she hosted later that night, though, she instead donned a different red dress that was much more sleek, and one that she rocked all by herself. However, this afterparty was also interesting for other reasons, such as the 31-year-old popping out with her rumored on-and-off-again partner, Offset. Their relationship status is a bit unclear at the moment, but with this and a Knicks basketball game appearance recently, it appears as though things are at least very amicable.

Elsewhere in the entertainment world, Cardi B is keeping things relatively quiet while she preps for the release of her album later in 2024. But she might not have been able to avoid more smoke in the process, as fans speculated that JT dissed her on her new single, “OKAY.” “She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missing,” she spits on her verse. “Cheap a** veneers, you stay talking s**t / Put a marker to this b***h, she’s so counterfeit.” While we don’t know whether this was a direct shot or not, it’s not something we expect to find out anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Cardi B is still capitalizing on all of this in one way or another. With that new drop coming soon, she’s building up a lot of hype for her to deliver, which is pretty big pressure. Insiders confirm Rihanna will take the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Additional details regarding the Fenty Queen’s appearance are limited.

Additional expected guests are Kendall Jenner, Gisele Bundchen, Olivia Rodrigo, Sarah Paulson, and Uma Thurman.

The theme for this year’s gala is Garden of Time. Ticket prices are $50,000; if you want to go, you must know Anna Wintour. This year’s co-chairs are Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez.

Diddy Allegedly Not Receiving MET Gala Invite Following House Raids And Investigation

Just a year ago at the MET Gala, everything seemed fine for Diddy. He attended last year’s event alongside his girlfriend, City Girls rapper Yung Miami. But across the past 5 months or so things have completely unraveled for the rap mogul. Even last year’s MET Gala appearance has been swept up into the recent series of allegations made against him. Yung Miami’s lawyers were forced to pull out receipts of her getting fitted for her dress when she was mentioned in Lil Rod’s lawsuit.

According to RadarOnline, the allegations are catching up with Diddy just in time for this year’s MET Gala. They’re claiming that he’s being shunned from this year’s even and not receiving an invite. That doesn’t come as a huge surprise given how controversial of a figure he’s become in the year since. “The former fixture at the fashion event — who once held massive sway with his Sean John clothing line — won’t receive one of the coveted invites to this year’s event in the wake of his sexual assault lawsuits and federal sex trafficking investigation,” the statement they shared reads.

The Diddy situation has caused celebrities from across the pop culture spectrum to come out with their takes. Some are put in tricky positions because of their history with the iconic rap figure. Despite that he also admitted that Cassie, who filed the first lawsuit in this most recent string against Diddy last year, should be seen as a victim.

Just today, Stephen A. Smith compared Diddy’s situation to what Ye, formerly Kanye West, is going though. He mused on whether either artist could ever return to their peaks. Nicki Minaj says that she “cemented” her decision to get a breast reduction after attending the Met Gala in 2022. Speaking with Vogue for the outlet’s Life In Looks video series, Minaj explained that her chest was such an inconvenience on her outfit that she knew it was time. In the video, Minaj reflects on various looks from throughout her career.

When she gets to a photo of herself at the Met Gala, she noted: “I just realized just this moment that actually there was something good that came out of this. It’s what really cemented the fact for me that I had to get my breast reduction.” Minaj recalled: “I said, ‘You guys, listen, look, these boobs are gonna be spilling out.’ And by the time we were ready to go, I looked in the mirror, I said, ‘Guys, my boobs are still spilling out.’” She joked that she “knew before we even left the room that the boobs were about to have a night of their own.”

The spunky 10-year-old never shies away from sharing her thoughts, making for an endless supply of entertainment for fans. For this reason, it’s no surprise that she has quite a few hot takes on different celebrities, recently weighing in on City Girls’ Yung Miami.

In a new clip from The Kardashians, North is seen sitting on a couch watching the 2023 Met Gala, giving her opinions on those walking the carpet. Yung Miami then popped onto the screen, rocking a sheer black gown with a dramatic neckpiece, complete with some strands of pearls draped across her torso. While North didn’t appear to be explicitly disappointed by the look itself, she did have some qualms about its similarities to her mother’s.

North West Reacts To Yung Miami’s Met Gala Look

“She’s pretty… It’s just, stop copying my mom with those pearls,” she declared before flashing a peace sign. Kim K showed out in an extravagant custom-made Schiaparelli gown at the event. It famously featured upwards of “50,000 freshwater pearls” as well as “16,000 crystals.” While she had no issues coming to the defense of her mother’s look, North made it clear that she wasn’t a huge fan of that, either.

Later in the episode, she gave her take on the look to Schiaparelli’s creative director himself, Daniel Roseberry. “I like the pearls. North West Holds Nothing Back While Critiquing Kim Kardashian’s MET Gala Look

North West has already developed a reputation online for being hilarious. Her complete lack of filter and willingness to say whatever is on her mind has made for one hilarious moment after another on The Kardashians and that was no different when fans got a behind-the-scenes look at how her mom’s MET Gala fit came to be. Kim K clearly cared what North thought about her dress and asked her for her perspective and opinions multiple times, which she was happy to provide.

In one clip she critiques the bust of the dress, first saying it isn’t big enough and then changing her mind to thinking it’s too big after an adjustment. But the part of the look she really doesn’t like is the pearls. Despite Kim’s insistence that the pearls they’re using are real and very expensive, North is convinced that they look fake and isn’t afraid to say it. Once the MET Gala itself actually starts, North and her cousin Penelope Disick watch along from home critiquing various celebrity outfits. In the comments of a repost of the videos fans muse on one particular person that North is starting to remind them of. “This is Kanye’s female reincarnation and Kim and the gang didn’t think she wasn’t gonna be like this? This isn’t even her final form,” one of the top comments on the post reads. “Kim thought she got rid of Kanye but his genes said Aht Aht not so fast,” another comment with even more likes agrees.

It was just earlier this month when North West was part of a different viral clip. In that video Kim accuses her of scamming other celebrities with her expensive lemonade stand. Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney are in a pretty nasty feud right now, at least for gossip-heavy reality TV standards. Moreover, even though they still have moments of reconciliation and they clearly still love each other, the public eye isn’t holding them in the friendliest of regards with each other. Not only that, but there are some ideas for taking shots at each other that are just too good to pass up. For example, Kourtney recently showed off her Halloween costume for this year, and it’s a hilarious recreation of her sister’s Met Gala look for 2013, baby bump and all.

Of course, this reference to Kim on Kourtney Kardashian’s behalf can be interpreted in a few different ways. One of those is a simple homage: Kourtney thought the dress was beautiful and that her sister pulled it off in an iconic way. Another is ridicule: that look and moment was such an anti-slay that it could be its own freaky Halloween costume. Either way, it’s pretty comical for die-hard fans, although the recent context around their relationship makes it hard to see as anything less than a slight jab.

Regardless of these petty disagreements, Kourtney still wished Kim Kardashian a happy birthday recently, and reflected on them. “Happy happy birthday to my first sister @kimkardashian!” she expressed on IG on Saturday (October 21). “Thank you for all those years of bossing you around and you actually listening to all my cr*zy ideas. People think the fights they’ve seen on tv are bad… if only they got to witness the hair pulling, nail digging ones from early high school. The joys of sisterhood. Given that she also included a picture of them in matching Halloween costumes for the occasion, maybe this spooky season costume isn’t the dig that context would have you believe.
