Doja Cat’s Brother Served With Legal Papers Amid Allegations of Abuse

Doja Cat 5

Recording artist Doja Cat’s family drama continues to unfold as her brother, Raman Dlamini, has been served with legal paperwork related to a temporary restraining order filed by their mother, Deborah Sawyer. The legal action comes after Sawyer accused Raman of horrific acts of violence, causing her to seek protection for herself and her famous daughter.

According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Raman Dalithando Dlamini, 30, was formally served with the temporary restraining order by a deputy sheriff last week after multiple failed attempts to locate him. The paperwork is intended to keep him away from their mother, who alleges both physical and verbal abuse at the hands of her son.

Deborah Sawyer’s petition for the restraining order highlights the gravity of the situation, detailing instances of alleged physical and verbal abuse perpetrated by Raman. She sought protection not only for herself but also for her daughter, Doja Cat, a renowned recording artist in the music industry.

However, the judge overseeing the case only partially granted the temporary restraining order, citing “insufficient good cause shown” to extend protection to Doja Cat herself. The judge advised that if Doja wishes to seek protection from her brother, she should file for her own temporary restraining order.

The legal documents, filed on January 25 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, confirm that Raman was successfully served with the temporary restraining order related to his mother on January 23. A deputy sheriff located Doja’s older brother at his Studio City, CA, apartment early in the morning at 7:30 AM.

Black Men’s Mental Health Matters – Black Men’s Mental Health Conference Makes A Stop In Houston

Black Men’s Mental Health Matters - Black Men's Mental Health Conference Makes A Stop In Houston

“Being a black man in America means being my brother’s keeper. Being a black man in America means being my brother’s keeper while keeping a distance from my brother because I don’t trust him further than I can see him. It’s believing the cops don’t care about you. It’s learning how not to doubt yourself because when you’re born everyone else already does.”
—Poet Prentice Powell,

There is a long way to go in addressing the mental health issues that perpetually plague Black men. While Black Americans experience similar rates of mental illness as other Americans in general, there are contextual differences, especially when it pertains to Black men. And, Black men are not receiving the help they need for these problems. For example, only 26.4% of Black and Hispanic men ages 18 to 44 who experienced daily feelings of anxiety or depression were likely to have used mental health services, compared with 45.4% of non-Hispanic White men with the same feelings. The Black Men’s Mental Health Conference was Sold Out in Houston as part of a national tour presented by justUs, MH Foundation.

A recent tour stop in Houston included The Council on Recovery, The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, Houston Texas, Health and Human Services, The Alice Collective, The African American Male Wellness, Rverzealous Mindset LLC, and The State of Texas Aids Awareness Commission. The Office of CommissionerRodney Ellis honored and presented Camillia Harris,  justUs, MH Foundation, and the Black Men’s Mental Health Conference with a resolution. Houston City Council Member Edward Pollard presented Camillia Harris, justUs, MH Foundation, and the Black Men’s Mental Health Conference with a certificate of recognition due to her hard work in the mental health space. The Keynote Speaker of the event provided dynamic poetry with life stories of how he overcame depression, anger, and the struggles faced by Black and Latino men.

As a survivor, Camillia Harris could no longer stand by and not help the voiceless or those in need and took action. The Black Men’s Mental Health Conference is a multi-city tour bringing awareness and education to mental health care for black men. On this tour, they will share stories, provide access to resources, and equip communities with the necessary tools to create systems of support to ensure that Black men have the best access to mental healthcare. The tour featured events aimed at better understanding the social determinants of mental health and the specific psychological issues facing Black men through panel discussions, mental health experts, resources, and more. This tour empowers and inspires attendees to prioritize their mental well-being and take steps to heal and improve their overall mental health.

justUs, MH Foundation invites you to join them on their journey to celebrate and curate this important conversation around mental health in Black communities, travel city to city, and work together to galvanize collective action to ensure a healthier future for generations of Black men. Camillia Harris is a mental health advocate, dedicated to providing resources and support to those struggling with mental health issues. In 2019, Camillia lost her father to a murder-suicide and, since then, has devoted her life to helping others in similar situations. Her mission is to save not one but many, fathers, brothers, sons, etc. She wants to provide a window that dispels and eradicates suicide. She wants to build on mental health resources and help reach those in mental turmoil. Harris’s goal is to assist the world by providing a safe space for healthy minds. She believes in the power of storytelling and has used her own experiences to bring awareness to the importance of mental health. Camillia will work to ensure individuals receive quality mental health care and to break down the stigma associated with mental illness.

Former Basketball Wives Star Brittish Williams Faces Legal Troubles After Failing to Surrender

Screen Shot 2024 01 18 at 6.30.09 AM

Former Basketball Wives star Brittish Williams is facing legal troubles after failing to surrender as scheduled for her four-year prison sentence on fraud charges. The reality TV personality had initially been granted a delay in her surrender date to spend Christmas with her daughter before serving her sentence.

According to court records obtained by Radar Online, Williams was due to turn herself in on January 3, but she did not check into prison as ordered. Instead, hours before her scheduled surrender, she petitioned the court to reduce her four-year sentence to 2.6 years.

Williams, who accused the judge of imposing a harsh sentence due to her celebrity status, filed an appeal challenging the original four-year sentence. The reality star argued that a reduced sentence would eliminate the need for her to be transported back and forth between the prison in West Virginia and the court in Missouri.

However, prosecutors opposed the motion to reduce Williams’ sentence, asserting that the initially imposed four years behind bars was appropriate. They pointed out her failure to report to the Bureau of Prisons as directed and emphasized the generous disposition she had already received.

Days later, court records revealed that Williams was arrested on January 12, though details surrounding the arrest remain unclear at this time. The Federal Bureau of Prisons currently does not list Williams as an inmate at Alderson, the designated prison facility.

As the process unfolds, the reality star may face further consequences, raising questions about the impact on her impending prison term and the reasons behind her arrest on January 12.

Dame Dash Blames Kanye West’s Bipolar Disorder For Controversial Comments

Kanye West has been sparking controversy for some time now, with his antisemitic rants overshadowing his musical abilities in recent years. Aside from his comments about the Jewish community, Ye has also taken aim at his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s new lovers, sparked debates surrounding his relationships with Julia Fox and Bianca Censori, and more. While many think the Chicago MC’s behavior is the simple result of an inflated ego, others note that he’s diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which can lead to manic episodes.

Dame Dash appears to agree that Ye’s mental illness contributes to his controversial comments, weighing in on one of them during his recent appearance on Willie D Live. He discussed Ye showing up to TMZ headquarters back in 2018 and claiming that slavery “sounds like a choice,” arguing that the artist was simply “triggered.”

Dame Dash Thinks Kanye West’s Team Should Do Better

“Now you know that man is bipolar,” he began. “Why would you bring him to TMZ and ask him questions when you know he’s triggered? He’s clinically bipolar.” Dame Dash went on, suggesting that Ye’s statement could have been misinterpreted. “I say slavery is a choice right now, but not slavery was a choice back then, right now. For us to think that there are masters is a choice right now, but I don’t think he meant back then,” he explained.

“Has anybody ever dealt with somebody that’s bipolar?” he continued. “The one thing you don’t do when someone’s triggered is put them in front of cameras. The most dangerous thing for a bipolar person is money. A billionaire bipolar means while you’re bipolar, everyone’s still listening to you. A broke bipolar, they’re putting you in the room until the ambulance comes.” What do you think of Dame Dash’s recent claims about Kanye West? Do you agree that his people should keep him away from cameras when he’s having mental health crises? [WATCH] Dr. Umar Johnson Sparks Controversy With Views On Promiscuity, Rappers And Colorism

Screen Shot 2024 01 17 at 12.17.51 PM

In a recent appearance on the “Highly Initiated” podcast, social media influencer Dr. Umar Johnson stirred up more controversy with his statements linking emotional damage to sexual promiscuity in women. The podcast, which aired on January 14, featured Dr. Umar expressing his views on the impact of emotional trauma on relationships.

During the discussion, Dr. Umar shared, “If you are traumatized, if you are emotionally damaged; you are promiscuous.” He went on to say that emotionally traumatized individuals seek constant validation from others, leading to behaviors he associates with promiscuity.

His main argument is the belief that children need both parents for emotional and psychological development, emphasizing the significance of a father figure. Dr. Umar stated, “If a woman’s father loved her, she won’t have trouble loving a man,” suggesting that a father’s presence in a child’s life is crucial for healthy emotional development.

According to Dr. Umar, women who had their fathers actively involved in their lives “operate in the dating game completely different” compared to those who did not. He implies that the absence of a father figure may contribute to trust issues and a lack of confidence in navigating relationships for some women.

His remarks have sparked discussions around personal experiences, parenting, and the impact on romantic relationships.

Critics point out that attributing promiscuity solely to emotional trauma may perpetuate harmful stereotypes and stigmatize individuals who have experienced trauma. It raises concerns about the potential for victim-blaming and reinforces outdated beliefs about women’s behavior based on their upbringing. He also spoke on rappers showing color preferences including Jay-Z and ‘woke’ black conscious communities.

R. Kelly Challenges $10.5 Million Judgment in ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Bomb Threat Lawsuit

donnell russell r kelly

Incarcerated R&B singer R. Kelly is pushing back against a significant judgment in a lawsuit where six women claimed they were victimized by him and his associate, Donnell Russell. The lawsuit, which awarded $10.5 million to the plaintiffs in August, centered around the alleged orchestration of a bomb threat to shut down a private screening of the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ docuseries in December 2018.

According to recent reports by TMZ, R. Kelly contends that he was not aware of the lawsuit and, therefore, should not be held accountable for the judgment. New legal documents obtained by TMZ reveal Kelly’s defense, asserting that he would have defended himself if he had known about the proceedings.

kelly

The singer claims that he is grappling with numerous criminal cases and prosecutions, along with a barrage of recent lawsuits, making it difficult for him to keep track of legal matters from his prison cell in North Carolina. Kelly further argues that he has changed legal teams since being incarcerated, suggesting that this particular lawsuit might have been overlooked or not delivered to him behind bars.

Kelly states that he cannot read or understand documents beyond a grade school level. He asserts that he relies on his lawyers to interpret legal matters for him. This claim raises questions about his capacity to comprehend and respond to legal proceedings effectively.

Moreover, Kelly challenges the assertion that Donnell Russell, his former manager, played a role in attempting to stop the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ screening with a mass shooting threat. Kelly denies asking Russell to take such action and claims ignorance about Russell’s alleged efforts.

Kelly’s defense suggests that if Russell did make a mass shooting threat, it was done for Russell’s personal reasons and not at the singer’s behest. This raises questions about the dynamics of Kelly’s relationship with Russell and the extent of his involvement in the events surrounding the lawsuit.

While the $10.5 million judgment hangs in the balance, R. Kelly is making it clear that he does not believe he is responsible for the alleged actions leading to the lawsuit.

Izzy’s response was brutally honest. He stated, “No,” explaining that he believed Zonnique had envisioned raising their daughter in a two-parent household, which led her to tolerate a lot of issues in their relationship. He went on to say, “I wouldn’t be with you neither.” Zonnique, taken aback by his candid response, urged Izzy to clarify his reasoning.

Izzy explained, “I have four kids, and this is the only child I was in the household with from start to finish. But I would’ve kicked you to the curb.” He accused Zonnique of displaying an attitude that he could not tolerate.
