Lizzo Rapidly Loses Social Media Followers After Sexual Harassment and Body-Shaming Claims

Lizzo

Lizzo’s world took a sharp turn as shocking allegations of sexual harassment and body-shaming emerged, leading to a significant loss of followers on Instagram and Twitter. Three former dancers filed a lawsuit against the pop star, her dance captain, and the production company, citing assault, racial and religious harassment, fat-shaming, and more.

In response, Lizzo took to social media, calling the past few days “gut-wrenchingly difficult” and vehemently denying the “false allegations.” However, the damage was evident. Casino comparison site KingCasinoBonus analyzed data and revealed a staggering loss of 123,489 Instagram followers and over 14,000 Twitter followers in just one day.

The impact of the allegations has left fans and followers reeling, and the situation remains tense as the legal battle unfolds in California.

Ionut Marin, Chief Editor for KingCasinoBonus commented on the social media figures: “For Lizzo fans, it will be alarming to see their idol accused of body-shaming, assault and more, when she has been such a proponent of body positivity for women all over the world.”

“As the lawsuit continues and new reports emerge, it will be interesting to see how Lizzo’s Instagram followers will fluctuate. With over 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify, we could also see these figures fall over the coming weeks and months as more details are revealed. These reports could also threaten to derail any of the pop star’s music releases and tours in the future.”

On Thursday morning (Aug.3), Lizzo released a statement after she was levied with accusations of sexual harassment and racial, religious, and weight discrimination. In a message posted to Twitter, Lizzo states the accusations and the days following have been “gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing.”

In the statement, Lizzo says her work ethic and morals have been questioned, in addition to her character and respectfulness. “Usually I chose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed,” Lizzo wrote.

She added, “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”

Lizzo gave a reason for her message, “I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”

The full statement is available below.

Lizzo is the subject of a new lawsuit from three of her tour dancers who state they worked in a hostile work environment. The dancers also claimed they were also subjected to sexual harassment, which included being pressured to touch naked dancers at a sex show in Europe.

In a lawsuit detailed by NBC News, dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez levy Lizzo and her company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc with racial, religious, and weight discrimination allegations.

Inside the lawsuit, Lizzo is claimed to host after-parties for her shows. Dancers attended the shows as they often would provide more favor and job security. At one post-event sex show in Amsterdam, Lizzo pressured dancers to engage with the formers.

“Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas,” the accusations state. “Lizzo then turned her attention to Ms. Davis and began pressuring Ms. Davis to touch the breasts of one of the nude women performing at the club.”

Lizzo also is accused of pushing her religious beliefs on dancers while also teasing them about their virginity and sexual choices and also simulating oral sex on a banana in front of the dancers. Additionally, Lizzo questioned a dancer’s weight after a South by Southwest performance, citing they may not take their career as seriously as other dancers.

Speaking with Billboard, the dancers’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, commented the weight shaming went “against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers.”

One of the dancers, Davis, privately recorded a meeting leading to threats from Lizzo and being “aggressively approached” with balled fists.

People Think Beyoncé Intentionally Skipped Lizzo’s Name In A Song Following Allegations, So Tina Knowles Responded

Earlier this week, Lizzo faced some troubling allegations: a lawsuit filed by three of her former dancers accuses her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. After that, Beyoncé fans couldn’t help but notice that during a live performance of “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” she didn’t say Lizzo’s name despite it being in the song’s lyrics. Some thought that was intentional in light of the accusations, but now Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, has shared her thoughts.

In a comment on an Instagram post about the situation, Knowles-Lawson wrote, “She also didn’t say her own sisters name yal should really stop .”

Indeed, as some pointed out when the Lizzo-free performance first made the rounds, Beyonce regularly skips some of the names in the song. So, excluding Lizzo for that particular performance was perhaps just a case of coincidental timing.

Meanwhile, Lizzo shared a response to the allegations that reads in part, “These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”

Lizzo Responded To ‘Sensationalized,’ ‘False Allegations’ About Her Allegedly Harassing Dancers In A New Statement

It’s been a rough week for Lizzo: It was reported on August 1 that a lawsuit filed by three of her former dancers accuses her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. The dancers later went and talked about it on Today, and now Lizzo has shared her side of the story.

Lizzo posted a statement about the situation on Instagram this morning, and it starts, “These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed. These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”

She notes elsewhere, “Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team. I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not. […] I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.”

The post concludes, “I’m hurt but I will not let the good work I’ve done in the world be overshadowed by this. I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support to lift me up during this difficult time.”

These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.

As an artist I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans.

With passion comes hard work and high standards. Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.

I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. Lizzo Sued By Former Dancers Over Weight Shaming & Hostile Work Environment

Lizzo

Lizzo is facing lawsuits from three former dancers who accuse her of weight shaming, sexual harassment, and creating a hostile work environment. Tina Knowles Says Fans Are Overreacting To Beyonce Concert Lyrics

Yesterday, news broke that Lizzo was being sued by some of her former dancers for creating a hostile work environment. The story caught many by surprise because the rapper has long pushed for body positivity and has a reputation for being nice. News traveled fast as other former collaborators took to social media to tell their experiences with Lizzo and fans reacted to the shocking news. Last night, just a few hours after the story broke there was even more drama to chew on. During the most recent stop on her Renaissance Tour Beyonce performed the Queens Remix of her song “Break My Soul.” The track normally mentions Lizzo by name but in her performance, Bey skips over it entirely.

Many fans interpreted that as an acknowledgment of the news. Others thought it was an even more direct shot at Lizzo, who is notoriously a big Beyonce fan. Some fans took the opportunity to point out that Beyonce doesn’t always recite the list exactly as it’s written in shows. They noted that she also skipped around Solange and Kelly Rowland and repeated Erykah Badu while performing the song. Earlier today, Bey’s mother Tina Knowles seemed to confirm their reservations. In an Instagram comment, she said “She also didn’t say her own sister’s name yal should really stop.” She seems to shut down any rumors that Bey meant anything in particular with the lyrical snub.

Beyonce is notoriously very sparse in her online presence. Because of that Tina Knowles often serves as one of the only sources of information directly from Beyonce to fans. She’s been to a number of stops on the Renaissance tour and has had nothing but praise for Bey and Blue Ivy’s performances. She was recently seen hanging out at a show alongside Oprah and Gayle King. Regardless of her denial fans will be keeping a keen eye to which stars are mentioned in the Queen Remix going forward.

Do you think Beyonce was shading Lizzo by deliberately skipping over her name, or was it an accident? Let us know in the comment section below.

It was reported yesterday (August 1) that the singer/rapper was being sued by three of her former dancers over a number of accusations, including sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Now, two of them appears on Today this morning to share their perspective.

Arianna Davis, who first joined Lizzo’s dance team after competing on her show Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, said of Lizzo allegedly taking exception to her gaining weight, “I just had this feeling they had a problem with the way I was gaining weight. […] She proceeded to say, ‘You know, dancers get fired for gaining weight. You should basically be grateful to be here.”

Crystal Williams also noted of how Lizzo would treat her and others, “She would pick and choose when she wanted to be professional and when she wanted things to be personal. […] You go from preaching about sisterhood to then turning around and saying that it’s a privilege that you know us by name.”

[WATCH] Fans Notice Beyoncé Skips Lizzo’s Name During “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)” During Tour Stop

Lizzo Announces New Single "Rumors" for August 13

Fans at the Renaissance World Tour in Boston pointed out that Beyoncé skipped over Lizzo’s name during her “Queens Remix” performance of “Break My Soul.” The segment normally lists the iconic women throughout music history. During that performance, Beyoncé repeated Erykah Badu‘s last name instead.

This follows a scathing lawsuit that accused Lizzo of multiple forms of harassment and discrimination. You can read more on that here.

Fans also pointed out Beyoncé using Badu could also be the acknowledgment of the Neo Soul legend shading her over her tour wardrobe choices. You can read more on that here.

Beyonce Responds To Erykah Badu, Seemingly Disses Lizzo

Beyonce is easily one of the biggest artists in the world. Overall, this isn’t exactly much of a statement. Instead, it is a rehashing of the truth. That said, she is currently in the spotlight thanks to her incredible RENAISSANCE tour. The tour has made its way to North America, and last night, she was performing in Massachusetts. Although some would assume that this would be a regular show, it turns out that it was an opportunity for Bey to speak on some of the controversy that has been conjured up over the last couple of days.

For instance, Erykah Badu recently called her out for taking her style. “Hmm. I guess I’m everyone’s stylist. My favorite chrome mirror hat,” Badu said upon seeing one of Beyonce’s tour outfits. Moreover, the superstar’s associate Lizzo is currently being sued by three dancers. The lawsuit stems from allegations of sexual harassment, weight shaming, and a whole list of other offenses. As you will see in the video down below, Beyonce seemingly responded to both controversies while performing “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix).”

Beyonce In Massachusetts

Beyonce decided to change the lyrics of the song. In one of the sections, she typically sings “Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl.” However, during this recent performance, she just sang “Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu.” On one hand, this essentially allowed her to pay homage to Badu, while also removing Lizzo from the song in one fell swoop. Although Beyonce didn’t comment directly on either situation, it is very clear where she stands on all of this.

There is no doubt that this RENAISSANCE tour has helped create a ton of interesting storylines. Furthermore, Beyonce is featured on Travis Scott’s Utopia, which has led to even more attention. At this stage in her career, Bey is at the top of her game, and it has been a pleasure to watch. Let us know if you will be seeing her on tour, in the comments section down below.
