Lizzo Was Spotted At Beyoncé’s Concert In Warsaw And Was As Enthusiastic As Possible

In May, Lizzo shared a TikTok about struggling to overcome hate. “Today was one of those days where I was very angry, very angry at the world. Saw a lot of mean sh*t about me on the internet, and I wanted to give up,” she explained. However, after expressing her gloomy feelings more, she ended the rant on a high note, saying, “Then, I reminded myself to get up, get out, and get some sun, and I put on Renaissance.”

Beyoncé’s music is an oasis for many people. That album in particular is an excuse for celebration. So, when Lizzo went to The Renaissance Tour on Tuesday, June 27, in Warsaw, it makes sense that she totally let loose and have fun. A clip is circulating of the “Truth Lies” singer in attendance at the event and she quite possibly might be the most enthusiastic person there. She’s caught dancing her heart out to “Church Girls” and raising a beer.

On social media, she once divulged how many times she’s seen the Lemonade legend. “I have seen Beyoncé perform live 10 times in my lifetime,” she wrote on Twitter. “and today the 11th time was on a IG live across a body of water of a hotel and I’m not ashamed.”

Lizzo Is Giving Back To Her Houston Alma Mater With A Special New Scholarship For Black Music Students

As part of her Juneteenth giveback series, Lizzo announced a special new Sasha Be Flooting scholarship, complete with a $50,000 donation, in order to give back to Black music students attending the University of Houston — which is her alma mater.

“Today is very close to my heart, near and dear to home and a milestone for me,” Lizzo shared in an Instagram video. “It is for any young Black student from Houston, Texas who has applied to go to University of Houston to study at the Moores School of Music. That was me just a couple years ago, a young Black flute player who just needed a scholarship and someone to believe in them. Now I get to pay it forward.”

“We’ll be announcing who is the winner of that prize very, very soon,” she added.

Ahead of her scholarship announcement, Lizzo also teased it with a separate throwback Instagram post of herself playing flute during her Houston college days.

Fans in the replies of Lizzo’s post were admiring her dedication to giving back to where she came from. “As a former flute player you have no idea how much I admire you and look up to you,” one fan wrote. “I got accepted to the University of Houston (not studying music) and I love that you went there as well!”

“I wish more artists would do this,” another added. “Because it would make college so much more accessible.”

In addition to donating to the school, Lizzo has also given $50,000 to “Black-led grass roots businesses and organizations,” including the Sphinx Organization, Black Girls Smile, and the Marsha P. Johnson Institute so far in the series.

SZA Condemns Lizzo’s Twitter Bullies: “IT’S UGLY OUTSIDE ALREADY. Why Add?”

Even with her amazing vocal chops, Yitty design talents, and epic flute playing skills, Lizzo’s creative talent still hasn’t stopped haters from commenting on her body. Those with nothing better to do spend their free time on social media, making “jokes” about the recording artist’s plus-size figure, which she’s proudly been showing off for years now. The hate doesn’t always get her down, but when it comes in such massive waves, Lizzo has a harder time dealing with it.

In recent months the Hustlers actress has become more vocal about asking trolls to tone down their comments. Nevertheless, they’ve persisted, eventually leading Lizzo’s “Special (Remix)” collaborator, SZA, to speak out for her. “I be wondering where all the virtue signalling, well-spoken, shit-talking internet warriors are when someone genuine needs defending,” the TDE songstress pondered in a tweet this morning (June 13).

Sza Stands Up for Her “Special (Remix)” Collaborator

“Where the f**k do y’all be at for Lizzo? Do y’all actually know how to support others or only tear them down?” SZA asked in the same post. Minutes later, she had more to say. “So people don’t go to war for Lizzo on this app?” one obviously annoyed user wrote back to the original tweet. “NOT EF**KINGNUFF,” the “Drew Barrymore” hitmaker clapped back. “For as much free love, encouragement, and positivity she embodies [and] shares on every app daily? The ratios don’t add up.”

In yet another post, SZA continued to rant, “I also dgaf who don’t agree. It’s been on my mind for a minute, makes me upset. Just want everyone to practice kindness and shutting tf up more often cause GADDAMN IT’S UGLY OUTSIDE ALREADY. Why add?”

Lizzo’s Hit Parade: Her Biggest Chart-Topping Songs

While Lizzo has been an active musician for a decade, it wasn’t until 2019 before she took the world by storm. Since her mainstream breakthrough, Lizzo’s songs waste no time becoming certified hits! Her third studio album, Cuz I Love You, won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album and was also nominated for Album of the Year. Lizzo is now a household name, also known for her energetic live performances, as well as her inspiring lyrics and flute-playing abilities.

Lizzo’s songs cover a plethora of genres but lie within the scope of Hip Hop and R&B. Her lyrics are usually uplifting in nature, as she is very outspoken on topics surrounding self-love and self-esteem. After her commercial breakthrough in 2019, Lizzo has become a megastar, and these hits prove her continuous success.

7. “Tempo” (2019)

“Tempo” became a club banger from the moment it was released. The R&B and trap-infused single is about Lizzo rapping about needing a faster-paced beat worth dancing to. “Tempo” also featured a sleek, cheeky rap verse from Missy Elliot. Now a body-positive anthem, “Tempo” is played whenever there’s some twerking going on. However, perhaps the most interesting part of the track is Lizzo’s classical flute playing, which she uses to close out the song.

6. “Cuz I Love You” (2019)

“Cuz I Love You” might have failed to crack the Billboard Hot 100, but the opener to her breakthrough album of the same name is now one of Lizzo’s most revered songs. The single showed Lizzo’s strengths as both a vocalist and a rapper. “Cuz I Love You” is a big and bold, yet soulful number packed with tons of emotion. Lizzo famously performed the song at the 2020 Grammy Awards, where she was also the most nominated artist of the night.

5. “2 Be Loved” (2022)

Many of Lizzo’s songs have motivational and inspirational qualities. As a champion of self-love, Lizzo’s positive messages in her music have been praised constantly. “2 Be Loved” is a synth-pop track that follows the disco path of her fourth album, Special. The song covers Lizzo’s looking inwards as she asks herself if she’s ready to be loved. The consensus of “2 Be Loved” is that one cannot truly be loved unless one loves themselves.

4. “Good As Hell” (2016)

Lizzo is one of few artists who has multiple sleeper hits. “Good as Hell” was initially released as a part of her first EP, Coconut Oil, in 2016. The motivational track, a feminist anthem, gained heavy attention in 2019. “Good as Hell” encourages women to fall in love with themselves and know their worth. After Lizzo performed the song at the 2019 MTV VMAs, it steadily rose on multiple charts.

“Good as Hell” eventually reached the third spot on the Billboard Hot 100 eight months after its 2019 re-release. Two music videos were shared, with the second blowing up on social media. That video featured Lizzo performing and having fun with the marching band at Southern University for homecoming week. A “Good as Hell” remix featuring Ariana Grande also became a hit, especially in Europe.

3. “Juice” (2019)

“Juice” is widely heralded as the best track off Lizzo’s third album, Cuz I Love You. The song, like many of her others, is all about self-love. “Juice” features fun and carefree one-liners like, “I’m like chardonnay, get better over time,” and “No, I’m not a snack at all. Look, baby, I’m the whole damn meal.” The song features many disco elements reminiscent of the 80s, and Lizzo paid homage to the sound with the music video. “Juice” also borrows elements from funk-pop, Hip Hop, and R&B.

2. “About Damn Time” (2022)

Starting this song with the lyrics “It’s bad b*tch o’clock, yeah it’s thick thirty” marked the first of many witty lines on “About Damn Time.” The lead single off Special, “About Damn Time” became a global hit, eventually hitting the peak spot of the Billboard Hot 100. The song also went viral on TikTok and spurred numerous dance, rap, and singing challenges. However, the track’s major feat is snagging the Record of the Year Award at the 2023 Grammys.

This historic accomplishment made Lizzo the first rapper to win in that category and the first Black woman to take home the award since Whitney Houston in 1994. Lizzo wrote the song to have another uplifting anthem similar to “Good as Hell.” She wanted to create a song that reminded her fans to celebrate their survival in the wake of a post-pandemic world.

1. “Truth Hurts” (2017)

Many things contributed to the widespread success of Lizzo’s hit song, “Truth Hurts.” Although originally released in 2017, it was re-released two years later after it went viral on TikTok. “Truth Hurts” would eventually rise to the top of the charts, spending seven weeks as the No. 1 song in the country. Regarded as her breakthrough single, the song is a story about Lizzo falling in love with herself after a breakup.

Lizzo famously married herself in the popular music video, which was viewed over 300 million times. She also shared that she considered quitting music after “Truth Hurts,” her “best song ever,” failed to make waves back in 2017. Thankfully, she stuck through the rut, and her career has significantly blossomed since then.

SZA Is Outraged By All The Online Harassment Lizzo Faces And Wonders Why People Don’t Stand Up For Her More

A couple weeks ago, Lizzo saw a rude comment about her body on Twitter and justifiably launched into a tweetstorm, writing in part, “Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F*CKING FARM…”

SZA was apparently an onlooker of this saga and today, she got heated as she shared her perspective.

In a tweet from earlier today, she started, “I be wondering where all the virtue signaling ,well spoken sh*t talking , internet warriors are when someone genuine needs defending . Where the f*ck do y’all be at for lizzo ? Do y’all actually know how to support others or only tear them down [thinking emoji].”

Somebody responded, “So people don’t go to war for Lizzo in this app?” SZA replied, “NOT EF*CKINGNUFF . For as much free love, encouragement and positivity she embodies n shares on every app daily ? The ratios’s don’t add up .” She continued in another tweet, “I also dgaf who don’t agree . It’s been on my mind for a minute .. makes me upset. jus want everyone to practice kindness and shutting tf up more often cause G*DDAMN ITS UGLY OUTSIDE ALREADY . Why add ?”
