Latto has been having a ball lately appearing on other rappers’ remixes but when it came time to upgrade her own hit, there was apparently only one person she could call. “Put It On Da Floor” has been tearing up the charts since its release, with fans quoting its opening line ad nauseam on social media. So when it came time to announce the remix for the hot single, Latto and her latest collaborator, Cardi B, referenced that fan-favorite lyric, staging a dramatic reveal in which Latto would “rip the plastic” — in this case, a plastic shopping bag — off her surprise guest. Only, things don’t go as planned; check it out below.
Cardi B is the perfect addition to the single, as Cardi was one of Latto’s earliest champions in the industry, putting her in the video for “WAP” alongside Rubi Rose and Sukihana. The remix caps a streak of remixes for Latto that saw her contribute to new releases from the likes of TiaCorine (“Freaky T“), Mello Buckzz (“Boom Pt. 2” featuring an appearance from those signature animal print panties), and Lola Brooke (“Don’t Play With It” also featuring Yung Miami). Meanwhile, this latest appearance could signal the impending start of Cardi’s long-awaited comeback, along with a feature on her husband Offset’s new solo album and Cardi’s promise that her new album is coming soon.
The “Put It On Da Floor” remix is out this Friday via RCA and Atlantic.

Afro Nation is a relatively new festival but it’s already expanding rapidly — just like the genre it aims to highlight. While the first edition took place in Portugal in 2022, Afro Nation just held its first stateside event in Miami ahead of its return to Europe this summer. Ahead of this weekend’s festivities in Miami, Afro Nation has revealed its next expansion. On August 19 and 29, Afro Nation is taking over the former site of the Brewster-Douglass public housing projects in Detroit, Michigan for its third event of the year.
As with its prior show in Miami, AND will be headlined by Burna Boy, although Wizkid will be replaced with Davido, while they’ll be supported by US stars like Ari Lennox, Coi Leray, Latto, and Masego, as well as rising Nigerian stars Kizz Daniel and sibling duo P-Square. And just like prior iterations, the Detroit event will have an Amapiano stage to showcase some of the South African dance genre’s flourishing DJs along with a comedy show, block party, discussions and panels, and something called a Motown special, paying homage to the city’s musical roots.
Tickets are due to go on sale on Friday, June 2. You can get more information at Afro Nation’s Detroit website.

Summer Walker last released new music in 2021 with her second album, Still Over It. The album provided an intimate portrayal of her relationship with producer London On Da Track. Clearly, it also resonated with audiences because it achieved great success. It earned Walker her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Since then, the talented R&B artist has collaborated with notable names such as Ari Lennox, Ciara, and The Weeknd, showcasing her incredible skills. Additionally, Walker has expanded her family with the birth of twin babies.
During the Dreamville Festival a few weeks ago, Walker officially announced her latest EP, Clear 2: Soft Life. Since then, she began building anticipation among her fans. Shortly before the release, she decided to give her fans a glimpse of the EP by sharing a video on social media. The video features Walker enjoying the company of her friends, Sexyy Red and Sukihana. The three relaxed by the pool and amusingly sampled caviar. With a touch of humor, Walker jokingly questioned, “So this is what the Caucasian people be eatin’?” Towards the end of the video, she finally unveiled the highly-awaited details—the tracklist of the project. Finally, the long wait has come to an end, and fans can now enjoy the EP in its entirety.
Summer Walker Is The Talk Of The Town
Summer Walker has made a triumphant return with her latest EP, showcasing her unending prowess in the R&B genre. The EP is a sublime blend of soulful melodies and seductive vibes. It captures a captivating atmosphere that transports listeners into a dreamlike state. While Walker’s individual talent shines brilliantly, she has also enlisted the collaboration of esteemed artists like J. Cole and Childish Gambino, adding an extra layer of greatness to her new musical endeavor. Since the EP’s release, many of her contemporaries have taken to social media to praise her latest effort.

Latto is determined to present nothing but the finest onstage fashion. She certainly did not disappoint with her latest stylish ensemble. The 24-year-old songstress shared a series of captivating photos on her Instagram a few days ago. The post showed the rapper adorned in Valentino attire. Latto is currently accompanying Lizzo on the “Special 2our”, and she is seizing the opportunity to deliver remarkable performances that leave a lasting impression. She treated her followers to a glimpse of her dancing in the Valentino outfit during one of her concerts. Fully decked out in a crop top, skirt, knee-high boots, and form-fitting gloves, the rapper mesmerized the crowd.
Latto’s live performances have been on fire lately. Following her outstanding sets at Coachella earlier this year, she graced fans with her presence at Pharrell’s Something In The Water Festival in Virginia Beach. Adding to the excitement, she invited a lucky fan onstage for a lap dance, continuing the recent trend of increased audience interaction and participation during her shows.
Latto Leaves Young Fan In Shock
In a new video from one of Latto’s sets, a fan is in shock after seeing her twerking skills. In the video, she gyrates wildly as the camera focuses on her before turning to show the reaction of a fan. The boy, who looks to be quite young, has his mouth wide open in shock. It’s a hilarious reaction, and he was surely not the only one who felt that way. It is interesting that this is taking place on Lizzo’s tour as Latto and Lizzo do seem to be on two very different wavelengths. Perhaps that’s why the fan was so shocked. Either way, it’s safe to say the performance had the intended effect.
Latto’s success in the live performances and tour circuit is evident. The rapper continues to thrive, even with some controversies here and there. Recently, she achieved an extremely significant milestone in the realm of digital streaming platforms. Latto surpassed 1 billion total streams on Spotify. While her viral presence occasionally originates from sources outside of her artistic endeavors, it is her music that serves as the true testament to her fame. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest Latto news. Make sure to let us know what you think in the comments!

The Rap Gameis a TV show which premiered on Lifetime on January 1, 2016. Music producer Jermaine Dupri is the executive producer of the show, together with Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere. The show’s premise involves Dupri mentoring five aspiring rappers aged 12 to 16. The series portrays budding young artists navigating the highly competitive music industry. The contestants lived together in a house for approximately eight weeks. They undergo a series of challenges designed to test their lyrical skills, stage presence, and overall potential.
Each week, the contestants are ranked based on their performances. Their ultimate goal is to secure a recording contract with Dupri’s label, So So Def Recordings. Guest mentors, including prominent figures in the rap and hip-hop industry, appear throughout the show. They typically provide guidance and inspiration to the contestants. Jeezy, Usher, T.I., Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, and Da Brat have appeared on the series.
The Rap Game has generally been praised for its authentic portrayal of the music industry’s challenges. The show has also been lauded for providing a platform for young talent to shine while offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to succeed in hip-hop. One of its biggest successes is Latto. Jermaine Dupri recently gave his thoughts on Latto and responded to criticisms that he might have “dropped the ball” with the Atlanta raptress. The legendary producer said that he produced and put out Latto’s first song, but she only caught mainstream attention after she changed her image and started making music for an adult audience. Besides Latto, the show has had five seasons and four other winners. Here is a rundown of what they are currently up to.
Latto (Season 1, 2016)
Miss Mulatto changed her stage name to just Mulatto following her win in 2016. She released her first mixtape, MulaMob, later that year. Her 2019 EP, Big Latto, caught the attention of RCA Records, leading to the “Big Energy” rapper securing her first record deal. The project included the single “Bitch From Da Souf,” which went viral and was later remixed with features from fellow southern rappers Saweetie and Trina.
In 2020, Latto released her debut studio album, Queen of Da Souf, which charted at No. 44 on the Billboard 200. The project was generally met with positive critical reception. The album included notable tracks like “Muwop” featuring Gucci Mane and “On God.” Latto’s feature on the remix of Chloe x Halle’s “Do It” also received significant airplay. She would stop using the name Mullato after criticism stemming from the derogative origins of the name.
Latto has amassed a billion streams on Spotify thanks to hit singles like “Big Energy,” “Bitch From The Souf,” and “Muwop.” Her new single “Put It On Da Floor,” with less than a month on YouTube, currently has 2.2 million views.
Mani Da Don(Season 2, 2016)
Mani wasted no time in capitalizing on his newfound fame after winning the second season of The Rap Game TV show. He founded his own label, Fly City Entertainment, and signed himself. He released his debut single, “You Thought,” in 2016. The song showcases his lyrical prowess and upbeat style. The track received media attention and began Mani’s journey in the commercial music landscape.
Mani released his official debut album in 2021 called Had a Talk Wit da Streets, And I Forgive You. “Meet da Rubberbandit$ (Ha Ha Ha)” and “Prada Mama” are his most streamed songs on Spotify. The former is his latest single from the South Central L.A. native. “They Know Me” is his most-viewed song on YouTube, with over 600,000 views. Mani has consistently delivered projects since The Rap Game gave him a platform. His latest single, “Brrkn & Heels,” released two weeks ago, already has 20,000 views.
Nova (Season 3, 2017)
After winning Season 3 of The Rap Game TV show, Nova released his debut single, “Stay Over,” which showcased his lyrical talent and unique rap style. Jermaine Dupri produces the song and features R&B crooner Jacquees. Spotify has listed one official album from the Pennsylvania native called The Quarantine. Nova released the project in 2020. It features songs like “Devastated,” “Dream Catcher,” and “Tales.” Nova’s most streamed songs on Spotify include “Look Out Below,” “Go Harder,” “Stay Over,” and “Riding My Wave.” All these singles have over 150,000 listens. Nova hasn’t uploaded any new music on YouTube since The Quarantine album, but his most popular music video, “Save The Kid,” has 1.4 million views.
Steet Bud (Season 4, 2018)
The Season 4 winner of The Rap Game is Street Bud, real name, Sen’Derrick Marks Jr. Steet Bud hails from Atlanta, Georgia. The rapper is the youngest TV show winner at just 13 years. In the wake of his triumph Street Bud released his debut single, “Run My Check Up,” in 2018. The single helped the rapper launch his rap career.
Street Bud released his debut album Back 2 the Lab in 2020. The project included standout tracks like “Get It” and “No Cap.” In 2020, Street Bud collaborated with popular rapper and mentor Quavo, from the hip-hop trio Migos, on the track “Open House.” The song was well-received, further enhancing Street Bud’s profile in the industry. “Open House” is currently his most successful single, earning over three million spins on Spotify.
Tyeler Reign (Season 5, 2019)
The fifth season of The Rap Game aired in 2019 and crowned Tyeler Reign as its winner. Tyeler is a rapper from Los Angeles, California. Tyeler’s most popular single on Spotify is “I Promise.” The song has over 150,000 streams. Her “Petty” lyric video on YouTube has over 230,000 views. Tyeler isn’t as active with releasing projects as the other winners. Her official YouTube channel mostly consists of personal life content. Spotify has listed one EP from the rapper, including her popular “I Promise” single.
21 Savage largely keeps his personal life off of the ‘Gram but as a celebrity, it’s difficult to keep things private. Rumors have swirled around that he and Latto are an item, although neither party has confirmed this to be true. Latto has undoubtedly fanned the flames on several occasions, especially during her Soul Food Sunday segment on TikTok. However, there has been speculation that 21 Savage is a married man out here. Again, another rumor that hasn’t been confirmed but Internet sleuths have found some rather convincing evidence.
Per @its_onsite, 21 Savage was spotted out on a date night this week with his wife, Keyana. Even though she didn’t post him on the ‘Gram, she posted a photo of her drink at a restaurant while the rapper’s phone was apparently in plain sight. Fans compared a mirror selfie with his phone case and Keyana’s picture, concluding that 21 and his wife were on date night. Needless to say, the Internet was in a frenzy after the photo began circulating on blogs. One surprised fan said, “21 Savage got a wife?? I thought him & Latto was together [laughing emojis] I just saw one of them lil tea pages post.”
The Complicated Rumors Surrounding Latto & 21 Savage
If Latto and 21 Savage were dating, they certainly didn’t do an adequate job keeping it under wraps. In 2021, the “a lot” MC called Latto “fine” in a photo that he shared to his Story and then, immediately took down. However, what seemingly confirmed the speculation was a tattoo of 21’s government name that Latto got done behind her ear. Still, Latto wouldn’t fess up to being in a relationship with the Savage Mode star.
Besides the dating rumors, both 21 Savage and Latto have been extremely busy as of late. The latter recently dropped off her single, “Put It On Da Floor” and seems to be gearing up for the release of her follow-up to 777. Meanwhile, 21 Savage is fresh off of the release of Her Loss with Drake and will join the Canadian rapper for their co-headlining tour this summer. Hopefully, 21 ends up releasing some new music before then. Check out everything you need to know about the It’s All A Blur tour here.
Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Latto’s career has drastically improved since her reality TV debut. Many fans of the “Put It On Da Floor” rapper aren’t even aware of her time on The Rap Game. However, the show’s co-producer and host, Jermaine Dupri, hasn’t.
During a recent interview with HipHopDX, the music mogul addressed the public’s thoughts on how he handled Latto’s career after she won the show’s game prize.
“People keep saying, ‘Jermaine, you dropped the ball on [Latto]. But what I think people don’t understand is, I put Latto’s record out,” said Dupri, referring to the deal promised to Latto for winning the season.
Viewers were under the impression that the winning contestant would be granted an exclusive recording contract with Dupri’s legacy label, So So Def. Dupri said that was indeed not the case. “The deal was, if you win on The Rap Game, you get a single from Jermaine Dupri on So So Def,” said Dupri. T”hat single [Who is You] came out.”
He added, “The problem was that Latto was 16 years old, and the outlets didn’t support it. And nobody was like speaking on it. Nobody talked about it. If you watched the TV show, you saw it…But people didn’t really start talking about Latto until she started making more vulgar records, dressing more sexual, and being more adult.”
Latto’s recollection of the event differs from Dupri’s account. In 2016, she told VladTV that she was offered a deal with Dupri’s label but ultimately turned down the contract because, “It wasn’t enough money.”
Latto has gone on to achieve great success while Dupri has continued to add to his legacy with an upcoming Verzuz battle slated for September. There doesn’t seem to be a loser in this scenario.
On May 9, LSU guard and rapper Flau’jae Johnson dropped a remix of Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor”. In putting her own style on the track, Johnson included the lyric “In this 911, blowing smoke like them towers.” The song quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons, with right-wing outlets such as Fox and Outkick very angry at Johnson for “mocking” 9/11.
The song was quickly removed from YouTube and social media. LSU put out an official statement apologizing on behalf of Johnson. “We spoke with Flau’jae this evening, and while she never intended to offend or upset anyone with her lyrics, she expressed sincere remorse for any possibility of a misunderstanding and immediately took the video down,” the statement read in part. However, the apology came from LSU and not Johnson herself.
Johnson Adds Own Apology For 9/11 Reference
While Johnson did not immediately respond to the controversy, she has now come out with a statement of her own. “I just want to come on here and let ya’ll know by no means would I ever intentionally try to disrespect or offend anyone,” Johnson said on Instagram. “My whole goal in music is to push positivity and spread love. So, in no way shape or form would I ever intentionally try to disrespect or offend anyone.” Despite the claims from the right-wing media, it’s clear that the 19-year-old performer did not maliciously include the include.
Johnson, who performs under the stage name Flau’jae, has seen her work thrust into a bright spotlight after LSU claimed their first-ever women’s basketball National Championship in April. She teased a collab with Lil Wayne soon after cutting the nets down. Later on in the month, she also revealed she was working on a track with DJ Khaled. LSU has stood by their SEC freshman of the year and does not intend to further reprimand her for the ill-advised bar.
