Lil Nas X Sends Latto Flowers After She Name Drops Him In New Song

Valentine’s Day has fans and artists alike getting into their romantic instincts. That included a recent pretty sweet gesture made for Latto. Her new song “Sunday Service” mostly made waves for shots it takes at Ice Spice. While that’s yet to spark any kind of major beef, she is getting love from another rapper she mentions in the song, albeit in a better light. That’s of course Lil Nas, whose sweet gesture Latto herself shared to Instagram earlier this week.

“I would never curve you happy Valentine’s Day. Lil Nas X” a note sent to Latto reads. It came attached to an impressive bouquet of roses. The note is a reference to one of the lyrics from the songs that reads “please, Lil Nas X the only n*gga curvin’ me.” Latto did go on to deny that her song was even a “diss track” at all in a tweet responding to a fan calling it one. That felt like it was in pretty direct conflict with the promotional material for the song which featured pictures of Spice directly. Check out the flowers Lil Nas sent below.

Lil Nas X’s Gift For Latto

Before making waves for trying to start her own beef with Ice Spice, Latto took sides in the other biggest rap beef of the year. She posted a comment on Instagram about how Megan Thee Stallion was making her proud in her beef with Nicki Minaj. That’s not necessarily a surprising take given the fact that Latto herself has beefed with Nicki in the past.

Last month, Lil Nas X dropped the lead single from his new era. After weeks of teasing a shift into a new “Christian era” he unleashed “J CHRIST.” Despite the wide reaching interest for the track it didn’t stick around long on the charts. What do you think of Lil Nas X getting Latto flowers for Valentine’s Day after she name dropped him in a new song? Let is know in the comment section below.

Did Latto Diss Nicki Minaj On ‘Sunday Service?’

Latto may say her new song “Sunday Service” isn’t a “diss song,” but that doesn’t mean she didn’t use the opportunity to take a few shots at foes like Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj. As with plenty of records in this lane, she keeps things vague enough to stick to just about anyone the taunts apply to, but not overt enough to dominate the track and derail fans’ ability to enjoy the boastful raps.

While promoting the track, Latto dropped cover artwork that featured several women in rap, which some fans interpreted as a call-out. However, she said the cover was merely paying homage to her peers and influences, whether she has beef with them or not. However, as she has had beef with Nicki Minaj in the past, fans were undoubtedly wondering if she reserved a few lines for the woman she previously dismissed as an “angry aunty.”

Well, if the shoe fits, wear it, and there is at least one line in Nicki’s dainty size. In the second verse, she raps, “These bitches corny, soon as monkey see, then you know monkey do / Do you rap or do you tweet? ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, bitch / Stop all that motherfuckin’ yellin’, ho / ‘Cause I ain’t buyin’ what you’re sellin’, ho.” Some fans have interpreted this as a shot at Nicki, who’s displayed a propensity for going on days-long Twitter rants about her enemies, but notably never actually delivered a diss track directed at Latto — although some fans stretched one particular line to make it seem she might have. Of course, Nicki’s initial attack on Latto sort of blew up in her face, so it makes sense that she’d be reluctant to do so again, preferring to instead lash out through proxy Ice Spice. We’ll see if the latest salvo changes things.

Latto’s “Sunday Service” Visual Takes Us On A Trip Through The Bronx

Whatever’s going on between Latto and Ice Spice definitely isn’t as tense as the drama between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. However, hip-hop heads have been curious to see how the two younger women will handle the beef that’s been brewing between them for months now. While they’ve never come to blows in person, there’s been plenty of subliminal shade thrown online, and more recently in the studio too. After the redhead confirmed that her first single of 2024 is a diss aimed at Latto, the 25-year-old seems to have aimed at Spice on her “Sunday Service” song, which hit DSPs today (February 9).

Not long after the single’s debut, the former reality star shared its accompanying visual, much of which was filmed in her opp’s neighbourhood – The Bronx in New York. “Every time y’all book me with them h**s, it’s gon’ be big drama / Twenty black Suburbans, we pull up like Sunday Service,” Latto enunciates on her hook. In the following verse is when her apparent shot at Spice comes out. “These b**ches corny, soon as monkey see, then you know monkey do / Do you rap or do you tweet ’cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, b**ch,” she begins.

Latto Lights Up New Music Friday with a “Sunday Service”

“Think I’m the s**t? / Bitch, I know it, ho / Jesus walked on water, I got ice boiling though,” Latto’s clever bars continue. She tapped Go Grizzly, Pooh Beatz, and Bankroll Got It to produce for her, creating a distinctly Southern sound reminiscent of the blonde beauty’s roots.

We’re just weeks into 2024, but already it’s shaping up to be a big year for the music industry’s leading ladies. Besides “Sunday Service” from Latto, we also got Yung Miami’s “50/50 Freestyle,” in which she lashes out at podcaster DJ Akademiks for all his hateful behaviour. Did Latto Diss Ice Spice On ‘Sunday Service?’

After an anticipation-filled week, Latto has released the video for her new song “Sunday Service,” which fans believed to be a diss track aimed at various foes who’ve taken shots at her lately. In the lead-up to the song’s release, Latto made a trip to the Bronx, birthplace of her seeming rival Ice Spice, and released artwork depicting a number of fellow female rappers, including both up-and-coming artists and legends — and Ice was also featured.

All of this led to fans wondering whether Latto disses Ice Spice on the new song, and searching for allusions to their rivalry in its lyrics. Although the track isn’t really a diss song per se, those fans weren’t disappointed to learn that Latto does reserve a couple of lines — and even an ad-lib — for the younger rapper. She starts things off subtly, warning in the chorus, “Every time y’all book me with them hoes, it’s gon’ be big drama,” throwing in Ice’s signature ad-lib “Graaah” just to make clear which hoes to whom she is referring.

But she really squares up in verse two, directly citing Ice Spice’s recent song lashing out at her. “Think I’m the shit? Bitch, I know it, ho / Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though,” she smirks, addressing Ice’s call-out on “Think U The Sh*t (Fart),” which Ice later admitted was directed at Latto. Meanwhile, in the video, Latto makes it a point to walk into a deli (another Ice Spice reference) to buy a blunt — as in, “rolling up an opp pack,” one of those internet memes that has gone mainstream. Latto claims she didn’t realize “Fart” was about her until Ice admitted it, and even says the video that set Ice off wasn’t even intentional.

Ice isn’t the only one to catch a shot from Latto on “Sunday Service”; she also appears to serve notice to Nicki Minaj with “Do you rap or do you tweet? ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth / Stop all that motherf*ckin’ yellin’, ho / ‘Cause I ain’t buyin’ what you’re sellin’, ho.” Notably, fans think Ice Spice’s feud with Latto is merely an extension of Nicki’s, with Nicki using a more age-appropriate proxy to attack Latto since her initial arguments didn’t go over so well.

Latto has let Ice Spice she wants all the smoke. After Ice Spice confirmed her “Think U Da Shit (Fart)” single was a diss to Latto, the “Put It On Da Floor” rapper fired back with “Sunday Service.”

“Sunday Service” was teased online once Latto pulled up in Ice Spice’s Bronx neighborhood with Suburbans to film the video.

The video has yet to be released, but the shots have been fired in the song’s chorus:

“Twenty black Suburbans, we pull up like Sunday Service
I just want a one on one, don’t know why she so nervous”

In the second verse, there may also be a jab at Nicki Minaj, who had an insane tweeting spree after Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hiss“:

Do you rap or do you tweet? ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, bitch
Stop all that motherfuckin’ yellin’, ho
‘Cause I ain’t buyin’ what you’re sellin’, ho

And then turned her attention right back to Ice Spice, flipping the “Fart” hook back on her:

Think I’m the shit? Bitch, I know it, ho
Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though

Latto Puts Her Opps On Notice With Her Scorching New Single, ‘Sunday Service’

Latto is back with a vengeance. Tonight (February 8), the ATL rapper has shared “Sunday Service,” her scorching new track, on which, she does not hold back.

“Sunday Service” features a confident Latto, making it known she’s not the one to mess with. Over the years, she’s dealt with rumors and industry beef, and tonight, she unleashed the beast. On the song, Latto is more confident than ever, knowing she doesn’t have time for any trifling man. She also isn’t fazed by any rumored beef, and even invites a hater to put it all on the floor with her.

“Every time y’all book me with them hoes, it’s gon’ be big drama / Twenty black Suburbans, we pull up like Sunday Service / I just want a one-on-one, don’t know why she so nervous,” Latto raps.

Though Latto doesn’t address any other rappers by name (except for Lil Nas X, whom, for reasons, is the only man who would turn Latto down), the song is rumored to be a diss targeted to fellow rapper Ice Spice. In recent weeks, she was spotted filming a video for the song in The Bronx — Ice’s old neighborhood.

Latto’s Visuals For “Sunday Service” Spark Beef Speculation With Ice Spice, Coi Leray, & More

Rap beefs are what help make the hip-hop world entertaining from time to time. This year has been full of artists lashing out at each other. Of course, the main card has been Megan Thee Stallion versus Nicki Minaj. It has been one of the biggest trending topics in rap, but also in pop culture. Now, there could be another butting of the heads this coming Friday. Columbus-born femcee Latto is gearing up for her first solo single since September of 2023.

Latto is going to drop “Sunday Service,” a song that is already receiving a lot of buzz. It is quite impressive how much coverage it is getting even though it is not even out yet. The reason for that is because Latto could be getting ready to unleash on Ice Spice and a host of other fellow female MCs. It seems it is all but imminent, especially for Spice since she confirmed “Think U The S*** (Fart)” was a diss toward Latto.

Spice released it after seeing Latto’s “weak ass snippet.” That snippet was for the visuals of “Sunday Service,” which had Spice’s eyes covered with a black line in the backdrop for a particular shot. While that point was already established, Latto could be coming after others as well. Coi Leray, Nicki Minaj, Sexyy Red, Cardi B, and more join Ice Spice’s crossed-out eyes. But, this could be a terrific marketing tactic. Fans seem to think so as well. One writes, “I feel like lady’s being in the background has nothing to do with the song but it’s gone make everybody run and listen cause yall think it’s a diss… good marketing Latto.” We will just have to wait and see what goes down, but Latto has us excited already.

What are your thoughts on Latto’s music video teaser for her “Sunday Service” single? Do you think she actually will diss anyone on the track? Or, is this more of a braggadocious song about being the best female rapper? Will this be the best song of the weekend? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Latto’s “Sunday Service” Dropping Friday, Single Might Diss Ice Spice

January’s chaos proved that 2024 has the potential to be a wild year, and February is only furthering that theory. Last month the hip-hop world saw Nicki Minaj lash out at Megan Thee Stallion over the latter’s “HISS” diss track, and the drama from that is still unfolding. Of course, the Houston Queen of Rap broke several records on Spotify after Minaj shot back at her nemesis with “Big Foot.” Now, it’s Ice Spice and Latto who are carrying on the femcee feud baton, as the blonde beauty gears up to drop her “Sunday Service” single this week.

On Monday (February 5), the 777 artist revealed the cover art for her first solo track of the year. It sees Latto posting braless in a white tank top and dark wash jeans, golden accessories around her neck, wrist, and fingers, along with a pair of hoops in her ears. The Atlanta-based baddie’s hair was worn in a curly updo, and her eyes were blacked out with a rectangular bar. As many are pointing out online, Latto’s background is a wall of photos of other rap divas, such as Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, GloRilla, and Coi Leray, whose eyes are also blocked off in a similar fashion

“Since she wanna be in the background so bad… Latto said HERE 😂,” one person wrote, referencing a viral video where the redhead’s “Pretty Girl” visual plays behind her opp previewing new music with eyebrow-raising bars.

Ice Spice doesn’t seem too worried about Latto at this point in her career, though she and Nicki Minaj are likely fed up with the Grammy Awards after this year’s slip-up. The femcee duo was accidentally named the winner of the Best Rap Song prize, though Killer Mike took home the trophy. Fans Believe Latto’s ‘Sunday Service’ Artwork Is A Subtle Callout Of Several Women Rappers Including Ice Spice

The 2024 Grammys were all about the music community pouring positivity into one another. But outside of the ceremony, the beef between Uproxx cover star Latto and Ice Spice still brews.

On February 3, fans reportedly spotted the “Put It On The Floor” rapper filming a secretive music video. According to sources, Latto took a trip to her foe Ice Spice’s old Bronx stomping grounds. While there, Latto recorded the official visual for her forthcoming single, “Sunday Service.” Today (February 5), Latto has shared the official artwork and fans believe it is a callout of several women rappers.

As Latto poses in front of a mural, there’s an interesting mixture of faces plastered behind her. Some of those folks include Ice Spice, GloRilla, Coi Leray, and more. Each of which has been involved in an online dustup with Latto. Given the diss-like lyrics heard in the teaser, users online believe the artwork is a subtle callout to some of these women.

View fan responses to the artwork below.

But to be fair, Latto did include photos of her friends, the late Gangsta Boo, Megan Thee Stallion, and Saucy Santana. So, the public will have to wait until it is released to make heads or tails of the song.

“Sunday Service” is out 2/9 via RCA Records. Find more information here.
