Kid Cudi Says His ‘Time Is Done On Twitter’ Because ‘Life Is Cooler Being Disconnected’

Over the years, Twitter (not “X,” you kidding?) has been a treasure trove for artists and their fans. The former get to share their thoughts and activities outside music, while the latter get to stay connected to their faves. However, after over a decade, one of the most active users in music might be letting the platform go for good.

Kid Cudi, whose account has given him a direct line to thousands of supporters for updates about his new music, old music, and even his health, said his “time is done” on the app. While he promised he’d continue to give updates on Instagram Stories, he offered his reasoning, which basically boils down to the same thing so many artists leave over: his mental health.

“Ok yall, I think my time is done on twitter,” he wrote. “If u wanna stay connected to me Ill have my ig, Ill keep yall updated thru my stories but I wont be posting much on there either. Just projects and things I got goin on will be posted by my team. Ive been thinkin, I see too much bullshit on here and life is much cooler being disconnected. I think Ive been too accessible, now when u hear from me itll be through my art. I love yall, its been real. Goodbye.”

At least he’ll probably stay out of rap beef now, right? Right?

Eminem is the self-proclaimed Rap God, but Grammy Award-winning emcee’s acting abilities. Well, Adam Sandler surely hasn’t.

According to The Sun, Eminem is reunite with Sandler onscreen by way of Happy Gilmore‘s highly anticipated sequel. Although the extent of Eminem’s forthcoming appearance has been disclosed, the outlet claims Em will play “a comedic role, and he really had fun with it.”

An insider spoke with the platform about Eminem time on set, saying: “Em is a big fan of the original movie, and he was a total pleasure to work with. He was just super low-key, he didn’t have a big entourage, and was just an absolute delight.”

Given that filming has already begun, a source said Eminem shot his scenes in New Jersey on November 6. Last month, Kid Cudi confirmed being cast in the picture on Instagram, writing: “It’s been a long time dream of mine to work w Adam, he’s my favorite, and his movies and comedy made up my childhood. Another dream come true.”

Eminem hasn’t confirmed or denied his involved in the upcoming flick. But, this wouldn’t mark Eminem and Adam Sandler’s first time appearing in a film together. Back in 2009, the duo worked together for Funny People, which starred Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann.

Kid Cudi Pulls From A Nostalgic Era For “The Moon Man Survives”

Kid Cudi is an artist and multi-talented one at that. Throughout his musical career he’s moved into other areas of entertainment including acting and now comic books. The Cleveland native partnered with Image Comics to release his first ever series called Moon Man. It launched at the very end of January this year and there’s going to be seven issues in total. As of today, Scott Mescudi is on the fifth comic and its available now here. The final book will be out on January 15, 2025, and coincidentally, that is potentially when the soundtrack for Moon Man will arrive. It just says 2025 on the annotation, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it dropped that month or soon after.

He has been teasing this accompanying project since the start of this comic book venture and we are four tracks deep now. That is accurate as of just a few hours ago because Kid Cudi has delivered “THE MOON MAN SURVIVES.” The premise of the comics are about a man wanting to live a normal life after a failed mission to the moon. However, the complete opposite happens throughout the story and those themes pop up in this track here. Cudi’s character, Ramon, struggles to be well at times. But on “THE MOON MAN SURVIVES,” it seems that he’s a strong individual who is able to overcome setbacks. Fans appreciate the track for its message, but also because of the era it’s pulling from. It seems it’s from the Indicud sessions and it was recorded during a rough period in his life. If you have heard that project, you’ll be able to pick up on the similarities quickly. Its classic Cudi and in the best way.

Kanye West Fan Appears To Leak “GUN TO MY HEAD” With Kid Cudi Onto Spotify

It seems that once again Kanye West is dealing with another leak. At least that’s what it looks like to us. On X (formerly Twitter), there’s a single tweet from a user by the name of MikeyPy_ who has an allegedly real Spotify link to a prized collaboration. It is Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Ty Dolla $ign’s “GUN TO MY HEAD”, which was included as a deluxe track for VULTURES 2. When you click on it, it takes you to the 2:16 track and it has over 19,000 plays. For a track this coveted by fans, the streaming numbers are way too low. Where there appears to be some possible accuracy here is when it was released.

Kanye West put out “GUN TO MY HEAD”, “BELIEVER”, and “DRUNK” on the YZY website on August 8 and made them available to buy up until midnight or August 9. When you look at it that way, that Spotify drop date kind of makes sense. What also makes this potentially true is that it was released under YZY and has the official accounts of Kid Cudi and ¥$ attached to it instead of some random user on the Spotify platform. In that same breath, it doesn’t make sense as to why we are just getting this allegedly true announcement today.

Kid Cudi Reacted To Kanye West Dropping “GUN TO MY HEAD” A Few Weeks Ago

There was already some confusion surrounding “GUN TO MY HEAD”, especially on Kid Cudi’s side. The on-and-off collaborator of Ye’s found out via a Twitter Q&A with fans in late August and was visibly shocked. After talking about it for a little bit back and forth, Cudi said he was going to discuss the possibility with Kanye about getting it on DSPs. Maybe this supposed leak is the result of that? No one really knows, as we are extremely skeptical overall.

What are your thoughts on this Kanye West fan/hacker putting the Kid Cudi collab “GUN TO MY HEAD” on Spotify? Do you think this one and the other deluxe cuts will eventually land on DSPs any time soon? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Kid Cudi Claims J Cole Ignored His Request To Collab On A New Song

Kid Cudi and J Cole are hip hop legends. They have stood the test of time, released classic albums, and continued to brandish their Hall of Fame resumes with new music. Despite breaking out around the same time, though, Cudi and Cole have never collaborated. Kid Cudi tried to remedy this missed opportunity by reaching out to J Cole on multiple occasions. During a September 18 Twitter exchange, though, the rapper revealed that Cole effectively ghosted him the last time he reached out with a song idea.

The whole exchange came about when a fan asked Kid Cudi if he’d want to work with J Cole. The rapper didn’t hesitate to explain the situation, and why said collab has never happened. To put it bluntly, he put the blame on the Dreamville veteran. “I always wanted to do something so I reached out for INSANO, no response. So theres that.” Kid Cudi also revealed that he tried to get J Cole on his 2013 album, INDICUD, but things once again fell through. The two rappers even set aside time to work together in the studio. “I had a session [with] Cole for Indicud,” Cudi recalled. “He couldn’t write to the beat I produced. It was a bummer.”

Kid Cudi Assured Fans That He’s Still Cool With J Cole

In today’s beef-obsessed hip hop space, Kid Cudi’s tweets could easily serve as the basis for a rumored feud. Fortunately, the rapper clarified that he’s an enormous fan of J Cole, and has no hard feelings over the failed collabs. “Cole dope I fux w him,” he wrote in a follow up tweet. “I don’t think Cole dislikes me I think he just didn’t connect w what I sent him. One day hopefully it happens.” Another fan asked whether Cole could appear on Cudi’s upcoming album, but the rapper clarified that his new release will be light on the features. “Maybe 1 or 2,” he explained. “Depends on if something comes up organically.”

This is not the first time Kid Cudi has made headlines for discussing collabs. He turned heads back in February when he told followers that he wasn’t interested in working with Childish Gambino. It sounded like Cudi was hating, but Gambino cut the rumors off at the pass. He told IG live viewers he didn’t have time for beef with Kid Cudi or anybody else, and assured fans there was no issue that he was aware of. It’s safe to assume neither Cole nor Gambino will be making the tracklist for Cudi’s next release.

Kid Cudi Got ‘No Response’ When Reaching Out To J. Cole For A Collaboration, He Said

A fun music fan pastime is to think about some artists you’d like to see work together on a dream collaboration. If you’re in the cross-section of Kid Cudi and J. Cole fans, that meet-up hasn’t happened yet, but not due to a lack of trying.

On X (formerly Twitter) today (September 18), a fan told Cudi they’d want to see him collaborate with Cole. Cudi responded, “I had a session w Cole for Indicud he couldnt write to the beat I produced. It was a bummer, and I always wanted to do something so I reached out for INSANO, no response. So theres that.”

In a response to another tweet, Cudi wrote, “Cole dope I fux w him.” He added in another tweet, “Yea for sure I dont think Cole dislikes me I think he just didnt connect w what I sent him. One day hopefully it happens.”

Somebody else asked who Cudi is looking forward to collaborating with next and he responded, “No one new really im all tapped out haha I think my next couple albums will be really short w features. Maybe 1 or 2. Depends on if something comes up organically. OH! Chip im always excited about. Hes my favorite collaborator hands down. We dont have any weak songs its beautiful and pure @kingchip.”

Cudi was referencing Chip Tha Ripper, with whom he just collaborated on the new song “Don’t Worry.”

Kid Cudi Follows Through With Release Of Chip Tha Ripper Collab “DONT WORRY”

Kid Cudi made a promise to fans earlier this month about releasing some new music. “DONT WORRY SEPT 18TH”, the Cleveland, Ohio native said on September 3 via X (formerly Twitter). Attached was a minute and change snippet of that exact song. This track has been floating around the internet for a little bit, with earlier variants of it including a long-time collaborator Chip Tha Ripper. As you can see in the aforementioned tweet, Kid Cudi had plans to drop “DONT WORRY” tomorrow. However, he decided to treat his supporters a day early because it’s out now on YouTube. It has an accompanying music video too, which looks to be filmed in New York.

Before the shots roll, a heartfelt message appears from The Cudster. In it, he thanks the citizens from there for being so welcoming early on in his music career. He writes, “I moved to NY in 2004. Over the years it became my second home. To the people of NY, this is my love letter to you. Thank you for always making me feel like family. I love you endlessly, enjoy. – Scott”. Then, it transitions into the hyped track and it delivers in a multitude of ways. Kid Cudi really brings back the first Man On The Moon era with “DONT WORRY”. From the sticky and spacey melody the instrumental creates, to the passionate rapping and singing from both MCs, it really hits you in the nostalgia bone. What’s also great about this release is that Cudi did tease a potential album for the fall, which would make it his third LP of the year. That time is approaching quickly, so hopefully that comes to fruition.

Kid Cudi Drops Snippet And Release Date For New Single “Don’t Worry”

Kid Cudi is making good on his claims. The rapper turned the heads of fans in August when he revealed that he had already finished his next album. He recorded the album during the recovery process for his broken leg, and told Twitter followers that they should expect to hear it sometime in the fall. “I got my next album finished and I really cant wait for y’all to get a taste,” he wrote. Well, now that fall is rapidly approaching, Kid Cudi is gearing up for release. The rapper has confirmed that the lead single for the untitled album will drop on September 18.

The single in question is titled “Don’t Worry.” Kid Cudi uploaded a snippet to his Twitter on September 2nd, and it has a classic Man on the Moon sound. The production is spacey and minimal, while Cudi can be heard using his signature sing-song flow. There’s a propulsive quality to the song that is undeniable, especially when the chorus kicks in. Kid Cudi has a stellar single loaded, and if earlier versions of “Don’t Worry” are considered, then there’s a good chance that King Chip will also appear on the song. Chip is not listed on the Kid Cudi link. That said, the duo previewed the song on Instagram Live on August 28.

Kid Cudi’s Teased An Album Release In The Fall

Kid Cudi and King Chip, of course, have a legendary partnership dating back over a decade. Cudi has continued to work with Chip on standout songs like “Brothers” and “Just What I Am.” The latter is the most famous, due in large part to King Chip’s iconic opening verse. “Don’t Worry” has the potential to join this esteemed list. Kid Cudi has been on a creative roll the last couple years, and it’s in large part due to a shift in ambition. The rapper credited artists like Kendrick Lamar for expanding his musical horizons, and leading him down more adventurous paths with his last release, INSANO.

“I was really at a place where I had a goal,” the rapper told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “I was like, ‘Okay, I’ve done all these different types of albums, I’ve touched on all the different types of spaces creatively, sonically. What is the one thing that I haven’t accomplished?.” Kid Cudi’s upcoming release will aim to continue this momentum. If “Don’t Worry” is anything to go by, then fans are going to be well fed in the fall.

Kid Cudi Shatters Fans Hopes For Travis Scott Collab Album

You know The Scotts is on the way”. “Its def happening at some point. Dont even trip 😈✌🏾👽… we need to take the time to get it right. I wanna create a ton of songs and pick the tastiest ones and really make it a moment for the culture. We only get 1 first album, its gotta be the illest”. “It’ll happen. Not sure when, but it will”. “Man, a lot. Some fireness“! These were just a few tweets and quotes from Travis Scott and Kid Cudi about the status of the possibility of a collaboration album. The potential for this happening began back on April 24, 2020 when they put out their first song out as a duo. “THE SCOTTS”, both as a tandem and single, shot up the charts.

In fact, it debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and it currently sits at over 804 million streams. However, even with all of the record’s success and the constant reaffirmations from Scott and Cudi, there were also some doubts coming from the latter that an album would come to fruition. Cudi even went as far as to say that it wasn’t going to happen. However, that would be followed up by more optimism just months later.

Kid Cudi Says THE SCOTTS With Travis Scott Is No More

Now, though, it seems that this could officially be the end of THE SCOTTS, according to AllHipHop. The Cleveland, Ohio native hosted a Q&A session while waiting for his flight to depart and this topic once again came up. “When are we getting the scotts album Cudi”, a fan asked. Cudi did not mince his words in his response, saying, “That ship came and went my friend. Lets move on. So much more to see and hear.” It’s quite the letdown, as these artists have inspired each other so much and possess undeniable chemistry. It’s going to be one of the biggest “what-ifs” in modern hip-hop history”, but with it being so long since “THE SCOTTS”, it may be the right thing to do.

What are your thoughts on Kid Cudi saying that him and Travis Scott’s potential collaboration album is not happening? Does this break your heart, or do you agree with him that too much time has passed? What is your favorite team effort from them and why? Kid Cudi Astonished That Kanye West Released Their Collab On “VULTURES 2” Deluxe

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 2 was not a crowd pleaser, for the most part. However, some were pretty happy when they put out several deluxe versions of the project. Out of the five bonus cuts, four of them were either from VULTURES 2 or VULTURES 1 recording sessions. “CAN U BE”, the final deluxe offering with Travis Scott, was a part of The Life Of Pablo era. Outside of that one, “GUN TO MY HEAD” was perhaps the most sought-after track. It mostly has to do with the fact that Kid Cudi and Kanye West are on a song after another stretch of beefing.

In fact, The Cudster acknowledged their complicated relationship during a recent Q&A he held on X according to AllHipHop. A fan was happy to see Kid Cudi and Kanye West back to being brothers once again and the former responded with a secret to how they reconciled. “Family always has problems sometimes, its the love that gets us through. 🙏🏾”. Additionally, though, more responses to tweets about Kanye would continue moments after this one.

Kid Cudi Demands That He Speak To Kanye West Immediately

It got started because one fan is a big supporter of “GUN TO MY HEAD”. That led Cudi to respond and quite comically we may add. “Its tasty. Hope Ye drops that one day”. That conversation then led another replier to let the cat out of the bag. “Bro it’s literally dropped”. The Cleveland, Ohio native was absolutely floored learning about this, saying, “Where??? I wanna hear. I forgot what it sounds like 🤣 I only heard it once since I recorded it when he played it that one time at the listening event”. His followers would go on to let him know it was a website exclusive that sold out and that’s it’s also floating around on YouTube. Cudi’s hilarious responses would basically end of with him making sure that he speaks with Ye. “What da hell is he doin??? Haha ima talk to him.”

More Replies

This sort of thing happens quite often, but the entire back-and-forth was pure comedy gold. What are your thoughts on Kid Cudi not realizing that Kanye West had released “GUN TO MY HEAD”? Is this your favorite VULTURES 2 deluxe track out of the bunch, why or why not? Is the album in your rotation at all anymore? Where does this Ye and Cudi collab rank amongst the rest of their works? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Kid Cudi and Kanye West.
