Kendrick Lamar & His “Pop Out” Guests See Major Streaming Boost After LA Show

Last week, Kendrick Lamar hosted his highly anticipated “Pop Out” show at the Forum in LA, where he was joined by various special guests. YG, Jay Rock, Tyler, the Creator, and many more made appearances. Dr. Dre even kicked off “Not Like Us,” which Kendrick went on to perform several times.

Of course, hundreds of thousands of fans were tuned in for the historic show, which took place on Juneteenth. It was also Kendrick’s first performance since his viral rap feud with Drake and was the first time fans got to hear live versions of his chart-topping diss tracks. As a result, everyone involved saw a huge boost in their streaming numbers, according to Billboard. Streams for “Not Like Us,” for example, increased by 62% in the three days after the eagerly awaited event.

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘The Pop Out – Ken & Friends’ Concert Breaks Prime Video and Twitch Streaming Records

On Juneteenth (June 19), Amazon Music streamed Kendrick Lamar’s landmark concert. Today, Amazon Music revealed that the livestream broke Amazon Music streaming records. Across Prime Video and Twitch, the live broadcast earned the most minutes watched of any Amazon Music production ever.

Presented by pgLang and Free Lunch, “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” coincided with “Forever the Influence,” a celebration of Black Music Month from Rotation, Amazon Music’s hip-hop and R&B brand, honoring Black artists, producers, and songwriters who have shaped culture.

In front of thousands and millions more watching at home, Kendrick Lamar made history last night with his sold-out “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” concert at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. Celebrating West Coast hip-hop on Juneteenth, the concert featured Lamar alongside friends, family, and collaborators performing classics and fan favorites.

The event kicked off with a “DJ Hed & Friends” set, featuring artists like Remble, Bino Rideaux, OHGEESY, and Jason Martin. This was followed by “Mustard & Friends,” where chart-topping producer DJ Mustard brought out West Coast superstars such as Dom Kennedy, Roddy Ricch, Steve Lacy, Tyler, the Creator, and YG.

Kendrick Lamar then took the stage, opening with hits like “Euphoria,” “DNA,” “Alright,” and “Swimming Pools.” The highlight of his set was a Black Hippy reunion, with TDE artists Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Schoolboy Q joining Lamar to perform tracks like “Collard Greens,” “That Part,” and “m.A.A.d. City.”

In a special moment, West Coast hip-hop royalty Dr. Dre joined Lamar for iconic anthems “Still D.R.E.” and “California Love.” The show concluded with the historic live debut of “Not Like Us,” which Lamar performed five consecutive times, accompanied by DJ Mustard, in front of over 16,000 fans.

Kendrick Lamar Really Popped Out: The West Coast Is Back On Top

It’s officially Juneteenth in Los Angeles, and there was only one place to be: Kendrick Lamar’s show at the Kia Forum. This was Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out – Ken & Friends concert, and the Compton native capitalized on the moment by allowing fans across the world to tune in. The show was live-streamed on Prime Video and Amazon Music‘s Twitch Channel, courtesy of pgLang (Kendrick and Dave Free’s media company) and Free Lunch.

Pulling up to the venue in Inglewood, California, it was immediately apparent what fans were waiting for: Kendrick Lamar to perform his viral smash “Not Like Us,” which instantly solidified the victor in the Drake vs. Kendrick beef. When the song dropped toward the end of the show, Kendrick had the entire West Coast lit, screaming in unison, “Ayy, Mustard on the beat ho!”

DJ Mustard’s Los Angeles All-Stars

With “Not Like Us” produced by Mustard himself, it was only right to have him open right before Kendrick. But we didn’t expect the all-star roster of artists he was about to bring out. First up with rookie 310Babii who has the summer smash “Soak City.” Then came LA favorites BLXST, Ty Dolla $ign, Dom Kennedy, Steve Lacy, Tyler The Creator, Roddy Ricch, and YG in that order.

With everyone on a high from YG’s “BPT,” it was finally time for Kendrick to take the stage. The beauty in attending this concert in person is witnessing Kendrick Lamar make history in real time while feeling the camaraderie in the entire stadium. People of all ages and ethnicities were gathered here, all purchasing a ticket to support one the greatest artists to ever do it.

Soon, the impatience kicked in as fans started cheering “O-V-Ho!” There are so many quotable lyrics in “Not Like Us,” and Kendrick made a point to give everyone their money’s worth. He ascended from underneath the stage, emerging from the floor in a squatting pose.

Sometimes You Gotta Pop Out

He kicked off with “Euphoria,” the fiery response to Drake’s “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” And while the die-hard fans were screaming the lyrics verbatim, a noticeable lyric change may have gone over some people’s heads at first. “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect,” he rapped, referencing a ring owned by the late great Tupac Shakur that Drake purchased at an auction. Drake confirmed he bought this ring in a social media post before seemingly alluding to the purchase in Travis Scott’s “Meltdown”: “I pull out a million to stare at this shit.”

I Don’t Do It From The ‘Gram, I Do It For Compton!

When the lights came on, you could finally see Kendrick’s fit: a red hoodie, red cap, jeans, black glasses, and a huge chain around his neck. A few chains actually, with one being a huge cross pendant. Fans speculate this paid homage to Tupac’s iconic red fit at The Source Awards in 1994. It’s the details for us!

Regardless if you’re from L.A. or not, you were proud as f*ck to be in the building tonight. It became even more clear as the Compton star ran through hit records from To Pimp A Butterfly and DAMN. Kendrick proceeded to perform catalog staples like “DNA.”, “Alright,” and “ELEMENT” —  in which fans screamed, “I don’t do it for the ‘Gram, I do it for Compton!”

The Long-Awaited Black Hippy Reunion

At this point, it was time for Kendrick to bring out his TDE family. Jay Rock was first up, as fans were reminded of their standout collaboration on “Money Trees.” But it was Jay Rock’s “WIN” that stole the show. Ab-Soul was next, joining Kendrick Lamar on stage to perform “6:16 In L.A.” and giving a shout-out to Carson. ScHoolboy Q followed for “Collard Greens” and “THat Part,” before Black Hippy stuck around on stage to dance along to “King Kunta.” From there, Kendrick led into an arsenal of bangers including “m.A.A.d. city,” “HUMBLE.”, and his explosive verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” There was definitely a moment of wondering: is Future or Metro going to pop out, too?! Especially since Metro was just in Los Angeles for his comic book pop-up less than a week ago.

California Love, For Real

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more lit, Kendrick brought out the one and only Dr. Dre. The moment the piano-laden intro for “Still D.R.E.” begins, the entire Kia Form erupted with cheer as Dr. Dre emerged from the stage’s floor. “You know I had to come back and do this kinda sh*t in my hometown. Especially, one of the greatest to ever did it! Can y’all make some noise for Kendrick f**king Lamar?” Dr. Dre told the crowd. Kendrick then asks the crowd to make noise for Compton, California, before performing “California Love” by Tupac. Iconic is an understatement!

But, my personal favorite part of the show happened right before Dr. Dre was about to leave the stage. The N.W.A legend began making his exit, and Kendrick convinced him to make one last statement to the crowd. Dr. Dre then kneeled down and whispered: “Psst, I see dead people,” before the infectious production of “Not Like Us” dropped. You can’t make this shit up.

Why you trollin’ like a b**ch? Ain’t you tired?/ Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minorrrrr.” Kendrick held this note and did his little dance move in the air, only to run back “Not Like Us” from the top. He ended up playing it a total of seven times for the evening, and we were all here for it.

Popping Out 7 More Times

History was made tonight. Kendrick united all the gangs and hoods in the building, from Bloods to Crips to everything in between. And he made a point to stand on two important values: peace and love. “We done lost a lot of homies to this music shit, lotta homies to the street sh*t,” he said.

The grand finale brought Mustard back on stage to run back “Not Like Us” for the fourth time, before eventually bringing out all the artists in the building. From the new generation to the OGs, K. Dot highlighted the city in the most beautiful way possible. “We’ve been f*cked up since Nipsey died, hold up. We’ve been f*cked up since Kobe died, hold up!”

Kendrick Lamar Blows The Roof Off Of The KIA Forum As Dr. Dre Intros “Not Like Us”

Kendrick Lamar is coming off of a feud with Drake, and as you can imagine, fans are hyped. Overall, Kendrick gave us some truly incredible diss tracks. Two of the best to come from the beef are “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us.” Tonight, Kendrick performed them both. He started his show with “Euphoria” and it was absolutely phenomenal. However, he eventually blew the roof of KIA Forum with his first-ever performance of “Not Like Us.” Of course, in the eyes of many, this is the song of the summer. Not to mention, Dr. Dre was the one to intro the song.

Fans had been wanting this ever since Kendrick’s “Pop Out” show had been announced a couple of weeks ago. Below, you can see the moment that Kendrick Lamar decided to perform the track. It was a moment that fans are going to remember forever, and many couldn’t believe they got to witness it live. However, Kendrick truly unloaded the clip tonight. In fact, he even performed “6:16 In LA,” which is a song fans didn’t really expect him to do.

Kendrick Lamar Did It

This has been an incredible night of music. Earlier in the show, we got some music from some of the West Coast’s best artists. Furthermore, some bigger acts like Roddy Ricch, YG, and Tyler, the Creator got to come up on stage. Overall, it was a great moment, and fans were treated to nothing but bangers. If you are a hip-hop fan, then you had to have loved every moment of this. Hopefully some day, Kendrick decides to do it all over again.

Drake Fans Are Preparing For The Worst

“Todays the day yall,” one post gaining traction on X begins. “We all gotta stick together it’s gonna be a sh*tshow. Regardless it’s team Drake for life.” Clearly, Drizzy’s followers are under the impression that the upcoming show will be perceived as yet another L for the Toronto hitmaker. It’s obviously up for debate whether or not this is true. Either way, his fans are getting roasted for it online.

“Yall acting like this is Thanos coming to Wakanda,” one critical commenter writes. “Calm down nothing is gonna change.” Another simply says, “Pull yourself together.” Countless other commenters are also chiming in with jokes about how the show isn’t anything to be taken too seriously. After all, the damage seems to have already been done, and most think there’s little that could happen now to change anything. What do you think of Drake’s fans getting clowned on Twitter/X for their over-the-top reactions to Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming “Pop Out” performance? Are they doing too much or not? Kendrick Lamar Fans Suspect Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign “Pop Out” Appearances After Mysterious Hint

Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to perform at the Forum in Los Angeles tonight, and needless to say, fans can’t wait. This will be his first live show since his fierce feud with Drake, and he’s expected to be joined by various special guests. Only a few of them are confirmed at the time of writing, including DJ Mustard, Roddy Ricch, and DJ Hed. Regardless, fans have plenty of theories of who else could show up.

Earlier today, for example, Ty Dolla Sign took to his Instagram Story to share a short clip, revealing that he’s at the venue. While it’s unclear whether or not he actually plans to perform, the clip has some social media users convinced. It even has some speculating that his Vultures collaborator Kanye West could make an appearance, though this is also unconfirmed.

Ty Dolla Sign Is At The Forum In LA

Of course, it’s entirely possible that Ty is simply at the venue to enjoy the show along with everyone else, and that Ye is nowhere in sight. The last time fans heard from the Yeezy founder, he was turning up in a ring at a professional wrestling event in Japan. Some reports suggest that Ty was also at the Japanese event. This means that it’s possible they returned to the U.S. together sometime recently.

Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West are far from the only artists rumored to be performing with Kendrick tonight, however. Social media users are speculating that Steve Lacy, G Perico, YG, Jay Rock, and more could also make appearances at “The Pop Out.” For now, fans will just have to wait and see, either in person or live on Prime or Twitch. What do you think of Ty Dolla Sign revealing that he’s at the Forum ahead of Kendrick Lamar’s concert? Do you think he’ll perform? What about rumors that Kanye West could also make an appearance? On top of the rumored acts, Mustard already confirmed that he’ll be performing at the event as well. He handled the production for Lamar’s latest single,” Not Like Us,” which serves as a diss track aimed at Drake. Earlier in the day, he spoke with Billboard about the making of the hit single. “When I was making it, in the back of my head is ‘What would Dr. Dre do if Lil Jon was in the studio and they was collaborating on the beat. That was my thought process,” Mustard told the outlet. “It took me approximately 30 minutes to make that beat.” He also confirmed he didn’t know Lamar would use it for a diss track.

Kendrick Lamar Fans Line Up For “The Pop Out” Hours Before Showtime

Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to perform at the Forum in LA tonight, and unsurprisingly, fans can hardly wait. It’ll be the hitmaker’s first show since his infamous feud with Drake, and he’s expected to bring out several high-profile special guests. Roddy Ricch, Mustard, and DJ Hed are already confirmed to be making appearances, though supporters will just have to wait to see who else might “Pop Out.”

Clearly, they’re eager, as evidenced by new photos of the venue shared on Twitter/X this morning. In the photos, a few loyal fans are seen already lined up for the event. Obviously, they have quite a long wait ahead of them. Needless to say, however, they’ll likely secure the best seats in the house.

Kendrick Lamar’s Fans Are Committed

While this certainly shows an impressive amount of commitment on fans’ part, it doesn’t necessarily come as a shock. Tickets for the event went on sale to the general public earlier this month and sold out in a matter of seconds. Supporters grabbed screenshots from the queue while waiting to purchase tickets, revealing that there were more than 100K others in front of them. The performance should be quite the spectacle and could go down as one of the biggest events in hip-hop this year.

Fortunately for those unable to make the LA show tonight, it’ll also be available to stream on both Prime Video and Twitch. DJ Hed and his crew will kick things off with a set starting at 7 p.m. EST, followed by Mustard at 7:45 p.m. Kendrick himself is expected to go on at 8:45 p.m., along with his mystery special guests. What do you think of fans lining up outside the Forum in LA for Kendrick Lamar’s show tonight? Are you surprised or not? Who do you think will join him onstage? Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” Show Gets An Itinerary Courtesy Of DJ Hed

Kendrick Lamar is going to be hosting a concert in Los Angeles tomorrow. Overall, the show is called “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends” and promises to be the biggest concert of the year. The show comes over a month after Lamar feuded with Drake. Furthermore, it comes amidst the chart success of “Not Like Us” which peaked at number one on the Billboard charts, and now sits at number six. This concert will take place at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, and it sold out within seconds.

Having said all of that, fans haven’t been made aware of all of the performers. While it was noted that Mustard would be there, the other attendees were up in the air. Now, thanks to DJ Hed, we have a bit of an itinerary to go off of. At 4 PM PST, DJ Hed will be on stage with some friends of his own. Subsequently, Mustard will be on the stage, and he will also have special guests. Mustard’s set goes down at 4:45 PM PST and could contain some previews of his upcoming album.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out Ken & Friends” Concert: Artists Fans Want To See

Kendrick Lamar has just announced his upcoming “Pop Out – Ken & Friends” concert in Inglewood, California. The live show will kick off at 3 PM on June 19. Fans expect a wide array of on-stage performers, though they have not announced any to the public yet. The show will also be Kendrick’s first outing since the dust has settled on his brutal beef with Drake. Billed as “Ken & Friends,” the event has already excited many fans about the possibility of their favorite rappers joining Kendrick on stage. Let’s take a look at a few favored artists who would surely turn heads at the event.

7. Mustard

Given that this “Pop Out” concert is Kendrick Lamar’s first live show since the Drake beef, the number one question on everyone’s mind is, will he perform “Not Like Us?” On one hand, it seems like a no-brainer, as the platinum-selling single has been touted as a massive summer anthem, and has drawn throngs of crowds worldwide. On the other hand, Kendrick Lamar may very well eschew this performance in favor of tracks that promote peace and togetherness due to the concert’s Juneteenth setting.

Either way, if Mustard takes the stage, we’ll know that an earthquake is coming, as the acclaimed DJ will surely have the crowd stomping from the moment they hear his iconic producer tag. Mustard has also announced plans to release an album this summer. This means the DJ could preview a wide array of previously unheard cuts at the show.

6. Future & Metro Boomin

As long as we’re cool with playing Drake disses on stage at the “Pop Out” concert, Kendrick Lamar should absolutely bring Future and Metro Boomin into the mix. For starters, the trio could perform the explosive track “Like That,” which kicked off the beef back in March. Beyond that, Future and Metro have 2 full albums of brand-new material to showcase to the world. The albums, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, are some of the biggest releases of 2024. The Inglewood audience would certainly be welcoming to the iconic hip hop duo.

5. Kodak Black

Kendrick Lamar has made no secret of his kinship to Kodak Black in recent years. Yak was featured all over Lamar’s last album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, in the form of numerous spoken interludes and two highly-favored verses. Fans would certainly love to see Kodak Black live in concert alongside Kendrick Lamar, especially if it means seeing them perform “Silent Hill” together. If the rumors are true that Kendrick has a new album coming out in the near future, Kodak is a likely candidate to be on it, meaning the duo could even perform new unreleased music to the crowd.

4. Baby Keem

This one is almost a certainty, as Kendrick and Baby Keem tend to move as one unit together these days. It’s well known that the “Hillbillies” MCs are cousins, and Keem was placed in a number of front-and-center moments during Kendrick’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers album. Baby Keem also toured with Kendrick throughout the entirety of his record-shattering Big Steppers tour. Rumors have been bubbling for months now that there may even be a Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem joint album in the works, though no confirmation has been provided on that front from either artist just yet.

3. Kanye West

This is arguably the biggest long shot on this list, but it is still technically possible for Kanye West to make an appearance. West and Ty Dolla $ign have been making the rounds at numerous stops across the country to promote their ongoing Vultures album series. Kanye also firmly sided with Kendrick during the latter’s beef with Drake, even dropping a “Like That” remix. Despite this, people largely view Kanye as radioactive these days due to his outspoken antisemitism and public controversies.

Plus, Kanye did take subtle shots at Kendrick before dropping his “Like That” remix, arguing on a social media post that he “washed” Lamar on their 2016 collaboration “No More Parties In L.A.” While fans would love to see Kanye take the stage at Pop Out, nobody really knows the status of his working relationship with Kendrick right now.

2. SZA

Kendrick and SZA haven’t collaborated since the “Not Like Us” rapper departed their shared label, TDE, though they have been known to have exceptional chemistry on wax. Some fans have suggested that SZA has sided with Drake in the recent beef. These rumors are unsubstantiated, though SZA has worked with Drake in the last year, and the Toronto native even shouted her out while dissing Kendrick on the song “Push Ups.” An appearance from SZA at Pop Out would be a perfect way to solidify that she’s still cool with Kendrick while also promoting her long-awaited upcoming project Lana, which she has teased since late 2022.

1. Black Hippy

Speaking of TDE, Kendrick Lamar’s former label-mates ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul would also be perfect picks to appear at the Pop Out concert. All three of the Compton MCs have deep roots in the neighborhood, as well as long-running relationships with Kendrick. Fans have demanded a Black Hippy collaboration album from the four artists for over a decade now, though it seems clear that it will never happen. At this point, a Black Hippy stage reunion would be the best that the fans can hope for. It would also make perfect sense as ScHoolboy Q recently dropped one of the hottest albums of the year with Blue Lips, while Jay Rock and Ab-Soul are each rumored to be working on new music behind the scenes.
