Last month KeKe Palmer went viral after her baby daddy, Darius Jackson, mom-shamed KeKe for wearing a revealing outfit to Usher’s Las Vegas residency. Keke was serenaded by Usher and fans picked sides until they forced a back and forth between the couple.
Now Usher finally addresses the viral moment.

“I think everybody’s vision or a version of what they felt happened there just leads you back to just really having a good time in Las Vegas. And that’s what I hope came out of it. Rather, it was a conversation of what was going on with us having fun in front of the audience or conversation about that song,” he says.
Adding, “Every night I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to. But it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least conversation going and we just keep it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.”
He’s even embraced a nickname given to him by fans: the “Domestic Terrorist.” He jokes, “The internet is crazy. You can’t beat the internet.”
Usher will perform a series of shows in Paris in September before he kicks back up in Las Vegas at the Park MGM’s Dolby Live in October.

The R&B crooner picked the former child star as his guest of honour that evening, beautifully serenading Palmer as she grinned from ear to ear and soaked up every bit of his attention.
Before long, videos of the steamy moment began floating around social media. There, the Chicago native’s baby daddy, Darius Jackson, caught sight of them and quickly threw shade at Palmer for her outfit. What followed that was nothing short of chaos, and though the buzz has obviously since died down, Usher was still happy to share his thoughts on the situation during a new interview with PEOPLE. “I think everybody’s vision or a version of what they felt happened there just leads you back to just really having a good time in Las Vegas. Darius Jackson recently admitted that he holds Keke Palmer to a “perfect standard” in the latest episode of the actress’ podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer. The couple recorded the interview prior to their recent viral spat, which was centered around Palmer’s trip to Las Vegas. During her time in the city, she attended an Usher concert in a sheer dress. Jackson complained about it on social media afterward and the two unfollowed each other.
“At first, it definitely was hard because it could all be very overwhelming,” Jackson said on the podcast. “It was definitely overwhelming and intense at first.” Palmer agreed by chiming in, “It was.”

“And it’s like, you almost feel that pressure of needing to be perfect. And so, it really confused me and infiltrated my mind because not only did I have to hold myself to that perfect standard, I was also holding you to a perfect standard as well,” he continued. “So, any moment of flaw on my side or on your side it was World War III because it’s like, man, now the world sees us.” From there Palmer brought up the importance of privacy in the relationship.
As for their recent dispute, Jackson had written on social media: “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.” When he started receiving backlash for the comment, he elaborated: “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe.” The spat is just the latest drama that has stemmed from Usher’s residency in Las Vegas.
