Nicki Minaj Jokingly Responds To Keke Palmer’s Impression Of Her

Keke Palmer can do it all. She can sing, she can act, and she can deliver one hell of a celebrity impression. Her versatility has made her a staple on game shows and late night television, and her latest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is a prime example of why. Keke Palmer recounted a memorable encounter with Nicki Minaj, and proceeded to dazzle the audience with a spot on impression of the New York rapper. An impression so good it even charmed Minaj.

Keke Palmer claimed that she ran into the rapper shortly after she became a mother. Nicki Minaj called her over a for a conversation, but the sternness in her voice freaked Palmer out. She recounted this very stern approach in her Tonight Show impression. She absolutely nails Nicki Minaj’s accent and cadence, and host Jimmy Fallon couldn’t help but start laughing. Fortunately, for Keke Palmer, the red carpet chat was a positive one. Nicki Minaj merely gave the actress a pep talk and urged her to keep her head up, in the event that things become difficult.

Nicki Minaj Joked That Palmer Might Ruin Her Tough Persona

“Look, I don’t read the press,” Palmer recounted being told by the rapper. “I don’t know everything that’s goin’ on’. But I just wanna tell you, nobody knows what it’s like when we turn off the lights and we gotta be with ourselves. So you do whatever you need to do to be good with you.” Keke Palmer recalled being very relieved, given Nicki Minaj’s reputation for combativeness. She claimed she thanked the rapper for her kind words and has tried to apply them in her own life. Nicki Minaj saw the Tonight Show interview and proceeded to follow up on the anecdote via Twitter.

Nicki Minaj responded to Keke Palmer’s impression in a humorous light. She noted that the actress’ heartwarming story could jeopardize her reputation as a cutthroat rapper. “Ummmm…why would she even tell that story? doesn’t she know that could mess up the whole ‘bad guy’ thing?,” the NY rapper tweeted out. Nicki Minaj wrapped things up with another joke, claiming that she’s going to send a cease and desist to Palmer due to her spot on impression. “Let’s see if she still laughin when she get hit w/that cease & desist chi.” All good fun.

Keke Palmer Reveals How Her Darius Jackson Relationship Got “Out Of Control”

Keke Palmer sat down for a lengthy conversation with People published on Wednesday, reflecting on her relationship with Darius Jackson and their viral split which ended with allegations of domestic violence. The conversation began with her reaction to Jackson’s viral post complaining about her dancing with Usher at his concert in Las Vegas.

She says she was at a photoshoot when she caught it and was “speechless” afterward. Jackson quickly faced backlash online and fired back with another post, reading: “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is.”

SZA, Keke Palmer & Katt Williams Star In New “One Of Them Days” Trailer

One Of Them Days is scheduled to release on January 24, and we just got a new trailer for the comedy film that shows how zany it could turn out. For those unaware, the film stars SZA and Keke Palmer and revolves around their characters’ quest to improve their financial situation and deal with all the hassles of being roommates. Additional performances come courtesy of Katt Williams, Maude Apatow, Janelle James, and more as oddball personalities that the main duo comes across. Also, Issa Rae produced this flick, so there are a lot of reasons to be excited. It looks pretty funny, with a style that seems ripped right out of the 2000s era of blockbuster gut-busters.

With all these personalities on-screen, you can imagine that they all had a lot of fun on set as they got to know each other and collaborate. But perhaps some colleagues got closer in ways that they didn’t expect. If you hadn’t already heard, Harper’s BAZAAR recently published an interview between Kendrick Lamar and SZA that’s generating a lot of conversation right now. During it, she revealed a curious anecdote about working with Katt Williams.

SZA & Keke Palmer’s One Of Them Days: Watch The Trailer

“We shot a movie last night,” SZA expressed. “I’ve never shot a movie before, so I was freaking out. It’s a lot of being scared to be myself, I’m either gonna pretend it never happened or not show up to the premiere. I met Katt Williams [on set]. He told me I was mentally ill, like, as a compliment. He was like, ‘Sa, I believe you might have some mental—’ And I was like, ‘Illness?’ And he was like, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Oh, welcome.’”

Let us know down in the comments section down below if you’re looking forward to One Of Them Days and what you thought about the trailer. It will probably be very fun to see SZA and Keke Palmer bounce off of each other on the big screen. At the very least, it’s a nice change of pace from the busy career moves and salacious gossip stories that they face every now and then. Maybe this inspires the TDE artist in particular to act more!

Angela Simmons Reveals Heartbreaking Way Her Son Learned About His Dad’s Murder

During her recent appearance on Baby This Is Keke Palmer, Angela Simmons opened up about the murder of her son’s father, Sutton Tennyson. Tennyson was shot and killed outside of his Atlanta home in 2018. Prior to Tennyson’s passing, he and Simmons welcomed a son named Sutton Joseph Jr. in 2016. Unfortunately, Simmons was unable to control how the child learned about his dad’s death.

In a clip from the podcast, Simmons recalls getting a call from her son asking about the shooting. “He gets on the phone with me and he’s bawling and he’s like ‘I don’t know why he’s not here, but why would somebody shoot him?’” she explained. The next day, she learned that he’d been searching for information about his father’s passing online. “Someone murdered him?” she remembers him asking.

Angela Simmons’ Son Learned About His Father’s Death Through The Internet

From there, she encouraged her son to stop looking into his father’s death, as she didn’t know what exactly he might come across. “I just hated that the internet told my son before I could tell him,” Simmons said. “I was so bothered because he got the story and the narrative from online before I could even like sit him down and have that conversation.”

The individual responsible for Tennyson’s death, Michael Williams, was sentenced to life in prison in 2022. Simmons delivered an emotional speech in court after the verdict was read. In it, she revealed that her son “constantly asks her when his dad will come back.” She also noted how he will “forever wonder what it would be like to grow up with a dad,” and that she “cries all the time, knowing how excited Sutton was about raising their kid.” What do you think of Angela Simmons revealing that her son learned about his father’s passing through the internet? SZA’s R-Rated Comedy With Keke Palmer Doesn’t Have A Title, But It Does Have A Release Date

Kendrick Lamar isn’t the only current or former member of the Top Dawg Entertainment family with a movie coming out next year.

An R-rated buddy comedy starring SZA and Keke Palmer will release in theaters on January 24, 2025. There’s no official title or even plot details yet, but Variety reports that the cast also includes Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage, and Amin Joseph. Lawrence Lamont is attached as director, while Rap Sh!t showrunner Syreeta Singleton wrote the screenplay.

Palmer and SZA previously teamed up in 2022 when the Nope actress hosted SNL with the “Kill Bill” singer as her musical guest.

SZA is currently working on her third studio album, Lana, and first since 2022’s SOS broke records.

“You know, this round, I actually don’t want to say anything,” she told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about the album earlier this year. “Just because I feel like I do myself a disservice because you can shift the energy of the album. You got to let it form itself. Because I’m not really forming anything. I’m just kind of here while energy is forming and I’m just trying to allow it to do what it needs to do, and my voice just follows whatever the frequency is. So I feel like I want to allow it to finish shaping itself and form itself before I speak on it and possibly change the trajectory of what it could be. But I will say I’m in a beautiful space creatively and I feel just very new.”

Keke Palmer & Darius Jackson Pop Out For The First Time Since Mutual Abuse Allegations

Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson have had a very difficult relationship trajectory, but it seems like things are healing for them in at least one way. Moreover, a new picture surfaced online of the couple with their son Leodis, the first one of them that came out since their since-dropped mutual abuse allegations from November and December of last year. Their son’s Instagram page recently posted about a trip to the zoo that this photo might be from. “I had a fun day at the zoo! I’m grateful. Hope you guys had a good weekend,” the caption read, although neither Palmer nor Jackson have said anything about their outing on their social media pages.

Furthermore, this got a lot of fans speculating as to whether or not the two are just coparenting or if they’re actually back together. Fans seem quite skeptical in general, but everyone can agree that it’s healthier and better for Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson to at least be amicable for the sake of their son. What’s more is that both seem to have moved on from the whole contentious situation, whether in personal or in rumored romantic terms. For example, Palmer sparked dating rumors with Duke Riley.

Keke Palmer & Darius Jackson Spotted After Dropped Domestic Violence Cases

Elsewhere, even Sarunas Jackson (Darius’ brother) got roped into this whole scandal, as he filed for a restraining order against Keke Palmer and her mother Sharon. “God bless him, but this clout chasing must stop,” Sharon responded to his claims of harassment. In addition, she also shared that she is “totally confused” as to why Sarunas is “trying to serve someone who never wants to see him again ever in life.”

Meanwhile, this follows some disparaging comments from both parties, including Darius Jackson’s February rant blasting his custody battle with Keke Palmer. “I feel for the dads that gave up when it came to custody,” he shared. “It’s mentally, emotionally & physically draining. You’ll lose yourself. My spirit is too strong to give up. But I totally understand. I have pondered it. Thank God I have an amazing circle. For those who don’t have kids & this is something that I will emphasize to my son. Wait til marriage & make sure God is the center of your relationship. There’s a rule book that’s been given to us thousands of years ago. Best to follow it. Cause everything else leads to chaos.”

Tyler Perry Claps Back At Critics Who Claim His Movies Are All The Same

Tyler Perry has heard it all. He knows what his critics have to say about his films. He’s also aware of how successful his particular style of filmmaking is. Perry is estimated to have a net worth of $1 billion, and his films have grossed over $660 million at the worldwide box office. It’s this pedigree that Perry brings to the table, and why he felt comfortable dismissing criticisms of his work. He recently sat down for an interview with Keke Palmer, though, and decided to address some of these criticisms head on.

Palmer alluded to those who claim Tyler Perry makes the same kind of film over and over again. More specifically, a film in which a Black woman is put in a distressing situation. Perry didn’t shy away from the remark, and instead explained the way he approaches his artistic process. First and foremost, he said, he ignored what detractors had to say. “You gotta drown all that out,” he told Palmer. “If you let somebody talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you are going to find yourself in Hell.” The filmmaker then stated that he has confidence in his work, and his methodology. “I know what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing,” he added.

Tyler Perry Caters To His Fans And Not His Critics

Tyler Perry doesn’t bash people who criticize his work. Rather, he focuses on the people who enjoy what he makes. “For everyone who is a critic,” he noted. “I have thousands of emails from people saying ‘this changed my life,’ ‘oh my god, you know me.’ So that is what’s important.” The filmmaker also noted that many of his fans are disenfranchised, and do not feel seen or related to on a regular basis. “People like me who are grinders, who know what it’s life,” he posited. “Don’t discount these people and say their story don’t matter.”

Tyler Perry and Keke Palmer have known each other for decades. The latter told People Magazine that Perry offered to help with her skin condition when she was just 14 years old. “I’m grateful to Tyler Perry to this day,” Palmer explained. “I don’t tell many people that story, but I was so grateful to him for helping me because he had the resources and he was paying it forward.” Perry and Palmer would eventually work together on the films Madea’s Family Reunion (2006) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009). Perry’s latest film, Divorce In the Black, is currently streaming on Prime.

Eminem Isn’t Detroit’s Favorite Rapper, According To Rising Motor City Star Skilla Baby

Eminem might well be one of the most successful rappers from Detroit, but according to one of the Motor City’s rising stars, he’s not a hometown favorite. Skilla Baby, who has been experiencing a breakout over the past year thanks to collabs with Rob49, Sada Baby, and Tee Grizzley, told Keke Palmer on her podcast (the aptly titled Baby, This Is Keke Palmer) that Detroit actually doesn’t have any favorites after being asked about the “Houdini” rapper.

“Numbers wise, Eminem is the best Detroit rapper, but the gag is nobody would say that in Detroit,” he said. “Everybody had a turn being Detroit’s favorite rapper. Sada Baby had a turn, Tee Grizzley had a turn, Babyface Ray had a turn, Veeze is one of Detroit’s best rappers, Baby Smoove. Everybody had their turn being the best in the city. What we lack is consistency. Nobody has consistently been Detroit’s favorite rapper.”

Lest he be accused of haterism, Skilla Baby explainedI’m a fan of Eminem but do we consider him our best rapper? I don’t think Detroit does… No shade to anybody names I left off. Detroit is full of great rappers and I can’t forget Kash Doll, Big Sean, and Dej [Loaf], of course.”

Keke Palmer Has A Question About Kendrick Lamar’s “69 God” Line Against Drake

Some believe that Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef may not be over yet, and in the likely event that it is, folks still have an avalanche of wild, cutting, and comical bars to take stock of. Moreover, beyond some of the hefty allegations they launched at each other, these diss tracks contained a lot of clever wordplay, funny flips, disrespectful jabs, and downright vicious assessments. On the lighter and more ridiculous tip, folks have been singing along to K.Dot’s “69 God” attack at Drizzy for almost two months, but Keke Palmer has a very important question. Since when did that sexually suggestive number become a bad thing in our Internet discourse?

“Now this is no shade, no tea, but I have a question, okay?” Keke Palmer, SZA’s future buddy comedy partner, began her inquiry. “Because I know the rap kids, they do a lot of little tricks and clever little lines. Especially somebody like Kendrick. But I really am curious of… What’s so bad about being a 69 God? I guess what I’m saying is, far as I knew, 69 was something that just means you’re reciprocal, right? So if you’re a 69 God, you know, what’s so bad about that? I must be missing something. We’ll see, boo.”

Keke Palmer Doesn’t Know What’s So Bad About 69 Gods

Of course, fans quickly chimed in with their theories, agreements with Keke Palmer, and other interpretations that paint this as a diss. People are still arguing over who won; did you think a debate over bars would be any less divisive? Anyway, some fans believe that the “69” in question is actually a reference to 6ix9ine, who has his own history with grooming, child abuse, and predatory behavior (which in Drake’s case is purely alleged and unconfirmed). Maybe that’s a reach, but it’s rap beef, so what else is new?

Meanwhile, Keke Palmer is busy elsewhere, dealing with the fallout of her breakup and hopefully moving on peacefully from that reportedly toxic bond. As such, it’s no surprise that she wasn’t able to go down the same Reddit rabbit holes and OVO/TDE Twitter Stan reply threads that we did. Do you agree that being a 69 God is not such a bad thing after all? Or does it make “Not Like Us” all the catchier?

JT Reveals That “Ego” Played A Role In Public Spat With Yung Miami

It goes without saying that collaborators don’t always get along, and the City Girls are certainly no exception. Earlier this year, the duo got into a heated spat on social media, and feelings were hurt despite them making up in a matter of hours. Luckily, JT opened up about how the public disagreement impacted her during a recent chat with Keke Palmer and revealed that now, they’re both able to look back at it and laugh.

I did not want that to happen… When you get to the point of ego…it gets there. You forget to express yourself in a private setting, or you forget to talk like adults,” she explained. “It happened and it was st*pid, and it’s done. It’s over with and now it’s funny to both of us. It’s hilarious to both of us. Now, it’s just a funny thing in time to us.”

JT Opens Up About Clashing With Yung Miami

They’ve yet to reveal exactly what prompted the back and forth, though JT claims that neither of them was in the right. “She should be able to tell her side or how she feel,” she told Palmer. “Because we both were dead a** wrong. It wasn’t no right person in that situation, and I feel like that’s just something that we should talk about as adults.”

As for Yung Miami, she recently explained why the two of them have opted to focus on their solo careers as of late. She claims that when they teamed up to work on music together, it “just wasn’t working no more.” What do you think of JT opening up about her public spat with Yung Miami from earlier this year? Are you surprised that the duo was able to move on so quickly or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
