In the opening episode of his new podcast, Collect Call With Suge Knight, the former Death Row Records mogul saluted the women in the music industry.
“The females got that shit on lock. When you look at the women, they came such a long way and they’re really strong. They’re not in the shadows of a man, they’re leading the way. I think Cardi B is incredible. That’s probably one of the biggest stars in the industry and a great business woman that leads the way.”
Knight would also salute Doja Cat, citing “there’s nothing she can’t do and be successful with it” and also celebrated Summer Walker, Lizzo, and SZA.
Last month, Suge Knight says he will not take the stand against Duane “Keffe D” Davis after the latter was arrested and charged with the murder of Tupac Shakur.
According to TMZ, Knight stated he was surprised but would not testify.
“I’m not gonna get on the stand and testify on somebody,” Knight said. “For what? I wouldn’t go, I wouldn’t testify. None of that shit.”
The charges against Duane “Keffe D” Davis have officially been announced. He is charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon in the killing of Tupac Shakur.
“There’s been many people who did not believe that the murder of Tupac Shakur was important to this police department,” said Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill. “I am here to tell you that that was simply not the case.”
Here’s the indictment for Duane “Keffe D” Davis in Tupac’s murder, via Clark County DA.
It names the South Side Compton Crips and says Davis got the gun used in the murder “for the purpose of seeking retribution against Tupac Amaru Shakur and/or Marion Knight aka “Suge”….” pic.twitter.com/BY1BEQt4ul
According to famed court reporter Meghan Cuniff, Davis’s role is “by directly committing this crime” or aiding and abetting by giving the gun used. Also named in the indictment are his nephew Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson and two other men. All of them are dead.
A press conference on the arrest is available below.
Those who are keeping even a slightly less keen eye on music know that Keefe D is heavily involved with the murder of Tupac. His numerous appearances in court have still led to nowhere yet (to no surprise). It might not be for a while and in the meantime, he is still being brought in for interviews. Keefe might have to be more cautious about his answers, for obvious reasons. We are not saying that these media outlets are necessarily out to get him, however, a lot of the questions are going to be around Tupac and what he remembers.
Case and point, this recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue. They sat down with Keefe and asked him about his relationship with boxing legend, Mike Tyson. HipHopDX broke down some of the interview and here is what the suspect had to say. “[I met Tyson] a couple of times. Him and Biggie from the same f****n’ turf, y’know what I’m sayin’, and Jigga and them — Brooklyn.” He then shared his shock that Mike was close with Tupac too. “I thought he would side with his homeboy before he would side with [Tupac].”
Keefe does have a point that it is surprising that Mike would be close with both rappers, especially during the beef. However, Tupac did visit Mike when he was locked up according to BET. Keefe also admitted that Pac was a massive figure. “I forgot, Tupac was from New York, Baltimore, Oakland, LA, Compton — he’s from five different spots, man, damn!” Keefe will reappear on November 2 where is expected to plead not guilty.
What are your initial thoughts on Keefe D sharing his thoughts on Mike Tyson’s relationship with Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.? Did you know that Mike was close with each of the rappers even during their beef? What do you think will happen with Keefe D when he appears back court? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Keefe D, as well as everything else going on around the music world.
Despite the court of public opinion already convicting him, new reports suggest that Keefe D will plead not guilty to the murder of Tupac Shakur. According to KTNV, an attorney who could potentially represent Duane “Keefe D” Davis explained that he required more time before confirming that he would represent Davis. Ross Goodman, a well-known lawyer in the Las Vegas area, told Clark County district court judge Tierra Jones that Davis would enter a plea. However, the judge agreed to push back his arraignment for a second time due to Goodman’s request.
“I’m going to give you two weeks, but in two weeks, we have to get this case moving,” Judge Jones told Goodman in court. However, it seems like Goodman and Keefe have an idea of how they might move forward once they confirm the attorney’s involvement in the case. Goodman explained to Channel 13 that he and Duane had to finalize some issues before moving forward. However, Goodman said he’s already evaluating evidence, stating they will plead not guilty and request bail. “I’m not yet hired to review the grand jury transcripts,” Goodman said. “But the things that jump out, there’s no gun, there’s no car, and there are no witnesses from 27 years ago.”
Davis currently faces homicide charges related to the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, which has gone unsolved for nearly three decades. Las Vegas police eventually arrested Davis at his home in Henderson earlier this month, citing his memoir and interviews where he confirmed that he was in the car when Tupac was shot. Police theorize that Keefe D plotted the shooting of Tupac after they found footage of the rapper “kicking and punching” Davis’ nephew, Orlando Anderson.
While Keefe D will return to court on November 2nd, we’ll have to see how this case unfolds. With the overwhelming amount of evidence that the police claim to have, it seems like they may very well bring this case to a close after two decades. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Keefe D’s trial. Sound off in the comments with your thoughts.
The next chapter in the Tupac murder trial is officially under way. His alleged killer Keefe D was originally due to be arraigned in court two weeks ago but the lawyer he hired failed to show up. It was then rescheduled today where the district attorney expects Keefe to plea guilty.
Earlier this year the investigation into Tupac’s murder was revived when Las Vegas police raided a home in connection to the murder. It quickly became clear that the investigation was centered around Keefe D. Keefe has become notorious for going on various podcasts and spilling details on his role in the murder. Police later confirmed that his continued discussion of the case was one of the primary reasons that the investigation was reopened. That eventually led to Keefe’s arrest in late September, which began his trial for the apparent drive-by shooting. Check out the live stream of the arraignment below.
Some with personal connections to the trial aren’t so happy that it’s been reopened. Tupac’s own brother says that the trial being reopened did nothing but bring back the trauma of the murder. Others like his sister and Jada Pinkett Smith have expressed the opposite opinion. They both claimed that they’re happy justice is finally being served and are happy someone is being held responsible for Pac’s murder. Others like Pac’s former collaborator Napoleon think that the rapper himself wouldn’t even want someone prosecuted for his murder at this point.
Tupac’s name has also been brought up recently by Jada Pinkett Smith. In promotional interviews for her new memoir, she shared details about her relationship with Tupac. That included Jada describing him as her “soulmate” and telling the story of how he once proposed to her while in prison. She turned him down because she believed that he would have divorced her once he was released. What do you think of Keefe D facing his arraignment in court today? If 50 Cent has taught us anything, it’s that feuds between rappers will remain one of the most entertaining aspects of hip-hop. When your favorite rapper throws shade in an interview, spreads a pervasive rumor, or writes an all-out diss track, you’re going to want to know what happens. It may be a fair fight between two evenly-matched rappers who are trading jabs in a friendly manner—or you may witness an onslaught of verbal uppercuts and shots to that body that are so painful, you must turn your head away.
Over the years, rapper 50 Cent has been hurling insults in every way possible at producer and rapper Diddy. Some of his jabs are humorous while others are downright cold. Here are 7 of the most well-known times 50 put Diddy on blast!
A recent post from the “In Da Club” rapper shows a pic on Instagram of 2Pac and Suge Knight the night of 2Pac’s murder, saying, “Damn so pac got lined by brother love. LOL Time to Lawyer up, s*** might get sticky.” It was just days later when 50 trolled Diddy over his alleged connection to Duane Keith “Keefe D” Davis, the man who was arrested for allegedly murdering 2Pac. The rapper went on to post a video on Instagram of Keefe D asking Diddy for help: “Brother love? Show some love. It’s all I can f*cking say,” Keefe D said in the clip. “I was on top of the world til’ I met your mother****ing *ss.”
50 Cent Hates Diddy’s Hugs
Prior to posting the clip of Keefe D on Instagram, the “Candy Shop” rapper also took shots at Diddy over his sexual orientation during his concert. “That’s why I don’t be going to them Puffy parties,” he said. “N**** hug you from the front and back at the same time? … Look, if you into that, you into that. I’m fine with it. To each his own. I’m just saying, this isn’t my kind of mother****ing party.” 50’s on-stage rant resulted in a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Even before 50 spoke ill of Diddy’s parties, years ago, the iconic rapper had plenty of harsh things to say. In an interview on Drink Champs, 50 said Diddy asked him to go shopping with him but he felt there were other intentions behind it. “’So, yo, when we gonna get a chance to kick it. We could just hang out … Why don’t we like go shopping? … I’ll pay for it,’” Fif recalled Diddy telling him.
Diddy’s Destination To Nowhere
In a 2014 interview with radio station Power 105.1, 50 claimed “Puffy might be the destination for anybody going nowhere. Nobody surviving.” The rapper says he doesn’t get why artists collaborate with him, naming more artists whose careers ended shortly after getting involved with him. “When he came out with the Angels record, I said, ‘Naw, man. That’s wack. You gotta stand next to something.’ And he knew exactly what I meant cause he’s been standing next to something his entire career. He stood next to Biggie …”
“The Bomb”: A Diddy Diss Track
In 2006, the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ rapper released a diss track aimed at Diddy called “The Bomb.” Over the beat from Dead Prez’s “Hip Hop,” 50 delivered scathing bars directed towards Diddy. “Who shot Biggie Smalls?/ We don’t get ’em, they gonna kill us all/ Man, Puffy know who hit that n****/ Man, that n**** soft, he scared them boys from the Westside will break him off/ Dump on his a**, so he run to Harlem shake em off.” Fiddy would also say, “I guess this means I won’t be invited to the white parties in the Hamptons,” before mentioning Ma$e.
50 Cent Criticizes Diddy for Using Notorious BIG’s Name
In 2010, 50 Cent went to X, formerly Twitter, to create a petition called RIP BIG. The “In Da Club” rapper said he believes that Diddy is making money off BIG’s name. “Enough is enough,” 50 said on X, formerly Twitter. “Biggie’s name should never have become Diddy’s Black Card … When was the last time Diddy really was biggin up his brother, not biggin up his bank?” Fiddy gained a lot of momentum and support for this petition.
Ditching A Diddy-Like Jacket During a Concert
In 2021, 50 was one of the headliners for Rolling Loud New York, holding his stomping grounds in Queens, NYC. Marking his homecoming performance, the rapper performed all his greatest hits to an energetic crowd. After a quick outfit swap, 50 returned to the stage wearing a shiny grey jacket. Just then, 50 realized the jacket made him look like Diddy in the ‘90s when he used to wear shiny suits in his music videos. Fiddy quickly tore the jacket off and threw it into the crowd. “You know why I threw that jacket,” he said, per HipHopDX. “It made me look like Puffy.”
Has 50 Cent gone too far with his jabs at Diddy over the years? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Even though 50 Cent has been busy on the road, shutting down the arena on his Final Lap Tour, doesn’t mean he’s not active on social media.
Now, it looks like the G-Unit founder isn’t letting up on his statements that Diddy is the one to blame for Tupac’s death. Over the weekend, 50 shared to his 29 million followers a social clip of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who was recently arrested for the murder of Tupac Shaker.
The caption? “LMAO Brother Love, show some love. Damn should have just sent this fool a few dollars. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi”
In the video, the former Crip leader sat down for an interview with The Art of Dialogue, sharing his criticisms of Diddy for allegedly ruining his life. Keefe D also reveals he never received any bread from Diddy, showing his frustrations on camera.
The interviewer first asks for clarification on why exactly Keefe D was on the top of the world before he met Puffy.
Keefe D explains,” Shit I was getting 300 kilos a month, ballin’. Love. My shit was smooth dude. My shit was laid out smooth man. I met your motherfucking ass, all the heat and thunder come around with your motherfucking ass.”
“Brother Love, come show some love. That’s all I can fucking say, show some love Brother Love! Shit, I be seeing you doing your little fruity dance. Show some love homie. Don’t be like that Brother Love. I was on the top of the world before I met your motherfucking ass dude. Shit is wrong! Come on homie. I need some, throw a dog a bone or something. Fuck! Sitting up there talking about your Daddy Love, show us some love!”
50 Cent has taken aim at Keefe D and at a lesser extent, Diddy. Fif posted a video of Keefe D asking Diddy for help during an interview on The Art Of Dialogue. “LMAO Brother Love, show some love. Damn should have just sent this fool a few dollars.,” Fif wrote on Instagram alongside the video. It’s clear that Fif has no love for the man recently charged with 2Pac’s murder last month. Fif and Pac may have had their differences, but he clearly feels strongly about Keefe and the potential involvement of Diddy.
It’s far from the first time that Fif has taken aim at the pair. Earlier this week, Fif doubled down on his assertion that Diddy was two-faced and “got 2Pac killed”. That n-gga hug you from the front and the back at the same time? Fuck you talkin’ ’bout? I mean, if you into that, you into that. I’m fine with it. I’m just saying this ain’t my motherfuckin’ kind of party. I am uncomfortable. I think I belong in the girl’s bathroom,” Fif mused.
In other 2Pac news, never-before-seen mugshots of 2Pac and Biggie will be sold at auction next month. The incredibly rare images. along with pristine footage of Biggie’s final concert, are being sold by GottaHaveRockAndRoll. The footage, from the Sting Festival in Jamaica, is said to be clear and beyond any similar footage circulating online. Furthermore, the seller says that the buyer will own the copyright to the footage. Additionally, they will also receive a copy of Biggie’s festival agreement with Sting.
The festival footage is expected to sell for anywhere between one and two million dollars. Meanwhile, the mugshot polaroids are each expected to fetch as much as $40K. Biggie’s mugshot also comes with a thank you note that the rapper wrote in jail. The auction is set to run from October 25 to November 10.
Late hip-hop icon 2Pac has become the new face of Nixon watches, leaving fans both intrigued and confused about the unexpected product placement. Billboard announced the partnership on Tuesday, Oct. 3, revealing that 2Pac, known for hits like “Hit Em Up” is now the featured figure in a collection of five watches. While the intention behind this collaboration was to commemorate 2Pac’s “legacy and timeless style,” according to a press release, it has stirred mixed reactions among fans. Some have expressed their disapproval, questioning the choice of such a partnership. The release of the collection aligns with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. And commemorates the 27th anniversary of Shakur’s passing in September 1996.
These timepieces come with price tags ranging from $175 to $600. However, some people are not too happy. One fan, in particular, exclaimed “WHO APPROVED THIS BULLSH**?” They went on to draw a parallel with Biggie Smalls, another legendary rapper, asking whether his estate would ever permit his likeness to be associated with a product he didn’t endorse. The sentiment was clear – this decision seemed questionable at best. Some people did seem to support the cause, with comments such as “I want one right now. The black one!” and “Need this ASAP!”
Another fan chimed in with a two-word response: “TOM WHALLEY.” The mention of Tom Whalley, a prominent exec in the music industry, hints at potential involvement in the decision-making process regarding this partnership. The news of 2Pac’s image being tied to Nixon watches has undoubtedly raised eyebrows within the hip-hop community and among loyal fans. It prompts discussions about the careful handling of an artist’s legacy, especially when it comes to posthumous collaborations and endorsements.
2Pac’s legacy continues to resonate strongly in the world of hip-hop and beyond. However, the controversy surrounding this partnership serves as a reminder of the complexities involved in preserving and honoring an artist’s memory. It also underscores the importance of ensuring that such collaborations align with the artist’s values and authentic style. In other news, progress has been made in Tupac’s murder trial recently. Las Vegas police arrested Duane Keith “Keefe D” Davis for the murder of Tupac Shakur, nearly 27 years after the incident. Keep reading for more news on HNHH.
50 Cent trolled Diddy on Instagram, Monday, telling him to “lawyer up” after Keefe D’s recent arrest in the murder of 2Pac. Keefe D has previously claimed to have discussed killing Pac with Diddy in exchange for $1 million. Both 2Pac and Suge Knight were feuding with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records at the time of the killing.
“Damn so pac got lined by brother love,” 50 captioned a photo of 2Pac and Suge Knight on the night of the killing. “LOL Time to Lawyer up, shit might get sticky. #lecheminduroi #bransoncognac.”
50’s not the only one to bring up Diddy’s alleged involvement in the wake of Keefe D’s arrest. 2Pac’s own brother, Mopreme Shakur, addressed the idea during an interview on The Comedy Hype News Show, last week. “I don’t have to do anything. This individual [Keefe D] mentioned [Diddy’s] name. Law enforcement has a job to do. Will they do it? It does feel like Pac is being vindicated because back in them days when things were going down everybody thought he was cr*zy,” Shakur said. “He may have not expressed it properly but that don’t mean he was wrong. Ya dig? So we’ll see.”
Mase also appeared to reference Diddy being involved in the killing during an episode of It Is What It Is, last week. While discussing the arrest of Keefe D, he remarked, “Wait, where do I know that name from? That name sounds familiar.” Guest Bubba Dub then played in, saying: “Baaaad Boyyyy,” and hitting the Diddy Bop in his chair. Check out 50 Cent’s recent Instagram post about the rumors above. Keefe D recently received a two-week continuance on his arraignment and will face the court again later this month.
A former Las Vegas PD detective has given credence to the long-standing conspiracy theory that the murders of Tupac and Biggie were connected. Clifford Mugg testified at the grand jury that went on to indict Duane “Keefe D” Davis. “[People] associated with both murders were involved. [The] theory was accurate that they were related,” Mugg said in relation to the theory that the murders were connected.
Furthermore, 2Pac was killed in September 1996 in the drive-by shooting that Keefe D has now been arrested for. Meanwhile, Biggie was killed, also in a drive-by, in March 1997. In this testimony, however, Mugg clarified that while he believed the murders to be linked, he did not believe them to be perpetrated by the same person. Additionally, the idea that they were connected has been a long-standing theory given their famous West Coast-East Coast beef.
2Pac And Biggie Were Looking To End Feud Before Pac’s Death
However, rumors have recently been confirmed that 2Pac and Biggie were seeking to end their beef before 2Pac’s death. In an interview with AllHipHop, Mopreme Shakur, the brother of Tupac, confirmed rumors that Pac was recruiting Biggie to Thug Life. “There is some validity to that,” Shakur said. “Before things fell apart, Pac was a uniter. We knew we were from New York. We knew we were from the East Coast. And Pac liked to work with the best talent around. So, there was a period, there was a time when we was all cool. There was a time when Pac wanted Biggie to be part of the East Coast faction of Thug Life ‘cause we was kicking it with each other anyway. Pac wasn’t just a hater just to be hating. He liked [Biggie].”
Furthermore, in the same interview, Shakur hit back at the scrutiny his brother faced. “What Pac did was dare to fight. He dared to fight back, he dared to say something. He dared to question the police, and it comes with a certain amount of baggage.” Additionally, Keefe D was arraigned earlier this week in court.
