After originally dismissing Katt Williams’ comments about him, Kevin Hart used his NBA Unplugged show to further address his fellow comedian’s explosive Club Shay Shay appearance. “Do you entertain the circus or do you watch it?” Hart quipped to Kendrick Perkins after the ESPN personality brought up Williams’ interview. Furthermore, Hart joked that Williams had “bought the New York Knicks” only to “return them with a receipt”. Additionally, Hart went after Williams’ comments about being a voracious reader as a child.
Hart’s first comments about Williams’ interview came in the form of a tweet, which doubled as a promotion for his new movie. “Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad. In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER to my next film “LIFT” which will be dropping on @netflix in 8 days!!!!! There is a moment in the trailer where @gugumbatharaw says “They Really Love You” ….I now know she’s talking about “Katt” Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is SPECIAL!!!!” Hart wrote on X the day after Williams’ interview aired.
Meanwhile, Gilbert Arenas spoke in defense of Kevin Hart after Katt Williams called Hart an industry plant. Arenas explained that Hart found success forging a career and succeeding in roles that Williams himself admitted to turning down. In Arenas’ eyes, that didn’t make Hart a plant, but instead, someone simply making do with the opportunities he could get. Furthermore, Arenas questioned why Williams was trying to diminish Hart’s career for accepting the roles that Williams, as mentioned, had admitted to not wanting in the first place.
It echoes some of the comments that Michael Blackson made about Williams in his own response to the bombshell interview on Club Shay Shay. In a series of tweets, Blackson argued that while Williams was an all-time great of comedy, his interview was inflammatory by design. He argued that Williams was “trying to seem relevant” and should remember that he is not the “Katt Williams of 2005”.
Trick Daddy isn’t feeling any of what Katt Williams had to say on Club Shay Shay. Especially when it comes to Rickey Smiley. In a video released online, Trick blasts the comedian.
“All my life, all my career, I’ve been a nephew, a brother, a little cousin, a fan of Rickey Smiley,” Trick Daddy said. “Katt Williams, your little pussy ass get on the Sharpe show and just get in your little bitch ass feelings and you say all type of shit you ain’t supposed to say.”
After also addressing jokes made at his expense, Trick Daddy had departing words: “Keep Rickey Smiley’s name out your mouth!”
Rickey Smiley responded to Katt Williams after the latter aired out their Friday After Next working relationship on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay show.
In case you missed it, Williams shut down Smiley detailing that he was originally supposed to be Money Mike, and then went into further issues with Smiley.
In the film, Williams played Money Mike, who had an encounter with recently released criminal Damon, played by Terry Crews. Williams states his beef with Smiley, who was the robbing Santa Claus in the film, came after he stood up for his character not being raped for comedy.
“The Money Mike in the original script got raped in the bathroom,” Williams said. “That’s what Rickey Smiley was okay with. Katt Williams had to take the risk in front of the cast, studios, and powers that be in his very first movie and say, respectfully, humbly, guys, ‘If we are talking about anything else I don’t have any credibility and no pull. But we talking about comedy, where I have all the credibility and pull. The problem with Friday After Next is we are are trying to make a classic comedy. And this comedy involves a rape. Rap is never funny, no matter who it happens to or what the circumstances are.”
Appearing on his nationally syndicated morning radio show, Rickey Smiley told his listeners that he “had no reason to lie.”
“They added that whole pimp twist to that character, which was actually a better decision and made it funnier,” Smiley said. “There was no way in the hell I could have executed that role like that and I’m glad that they made that decision.”
He also said, “Personally, I liked the pimp role better but the Santa Claus role was just perfect for me.”
Rickey Smiley would go on to praise Williams and also encourage his listeners to attend his forthcoming shows.
Ice Cube has weighed in on the now infamous Katt Williams interview on Club Shay Shay. In his nine-minute response video, Cube expressed his gratitude for each comedian he worked with, while also offering clarity to Williams’ statements.
Cube revealed that Rickey Smiley auditioned for the role of Money Mike, stating everyone chosen for the film auditioned across all the roles. He added Williams ended up being perfect for the role, adding that the character was written already but Williams did enhance it.
“The role was written but he enhanced it,” Cube said. “This is why Katt was so dope in the movie.”

Katt Williams’ recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast continues to make waves, as the comedian took aim at several of his peers. He dissed Kevin Hart, Diddy, Ludacris, Cedric The Entertainer, and many more. At one point in the interview, he discussed his role in the film Friday After Next. He accused Rickey Smiley of lying about being originally cast as Money Mike, a role that was ultimately given to Williams.
According to Williams, Smiley had a bad attitude on set too. He recalls him consistently arguing that the role should have gone to him, telling anyone who’d listen. Williams claims that he even had a contract created stating that he wouldn’t work alongside Smiley again unless he was wearing a dress. He went on to note that Smiley’s next movie was First Sunday, in which he wears a dress. Smiley doesn’t appear to have been too upset by his claims, responding with “nothing but love.” Either way, Ice Cube felt the need to address the interview.
In a new clip, Ice Cube explains that when recruiting talent, he always tries to cast comedians who he believes are funny, and they audition for different roles. According to him, Rickey Smiley did give Money Mike a try, but the role was never given to him. They instead decided that he would make the perfect Santa Claus, which at the time, was a role about the same size as Money Mike. According to Ice Cube, however, Williams’ role in the film “expanded” once he stepped into it due to the “magic” he was able to create.
“When I saw him I just knew that he was perfect for Money Mike,” he says. “The role was written but he enhanced it. This is why Katt was so dope in the movie. […] He was on point.” What do you think of Katt Williams’ viral Club Shay Shay appearance? What about Ice Cube’s response to his claims about Rickey Smiley? Ludacris, the Atlanta rap legend is making headlines once again. He responded to comedian Katt Williams‘ shocking allegations about him being a member of the Illuminati.
Crossroads
Ludacris took to his social media accounts on Jan. 4 to showcase his freestyling skills and shut down the claims made by Katt Williams.
The rapper/actor wasted no time in addressing Williams’ recent Jan. 3 Club Shay Shay podcast interview, where Williams claimed that Ludacris had made a deal with the Illuminati. According to Williams, the alleged deal involved Ludacris starring in 20 movies for a whopping $200 million.
“So there was a crossroads where we were both invited to an Illuminati thing, and it had to be one or the other of us and decisions had to be made,” Williams said. “So it was both of us, we were equal. One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more, with the points.”
He continued:
“And the next person they said was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him $10 million a movie to do 20 movies. And that’s how the conversation happened. One of those persons turned out to be Ludacris, and the other person turned out to be Katt Williams.” Ludacris is a member of the Fast & Furious series, which has 10 movies.
Ludacris Responds
Katt Williams also took a shot at Luda for saying he “ended up with a light-skinned ugly-face wife.” Ludacris responded with a not-so-subliminal freestyle over Kanye West’s “Devil in a New Dress” beat.
In his response, Ludacris made it clear that he has never been associated with the Illuminati, stating, “Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati.” He also emphasized his commitment to his family, rapping:
“Now I’m married with kids, the evolution of life.” Ludacris effortlessly shut down any notion of him being a clout-chaser, asserting, “Never been a clout-chaser, never say sh*t for likes.”
But Ludacris didn’t stop there. He also took a dig at Williams over his alleged drug use. Referencing the late director John Singleton, Ludacris rapped:
“R.I.P. John Singleton, you never have to flex when you earned every one of your ‘Fast & Furious’ checks. Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.” It was a direct hit aimed at Williams’ personal struggles.
Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Ludacris’ freestyle. One user named @MrJeromeTrammel commented, “ Luda you ate this rap up, but we STILL believe Katt Williams,” and one other user named @JoshyBeSloshy used a GIF that said “Nah that ain’t it y’all.”
Katt Williams has not publicly responded directly to Ludacris’s freestyle at this time.

Kevin Hart Fires Back At Katt Williams: ‘It’s Honestly Sad’
Kevin Hart has clapped back at fellow comedian Katt Williams. The comedian/actor’s response follows after the Friday After Next star criticized him in a recent interview.
‘It’s Honestly Sad’
Kevin Hart has offered a response to fellow comedian Katt Williams, who called him out in a recent interview with Cub Shay Shay.
In response to Williams’ remarks, Hart took to his Twitter (X) account on Jan. 4 to address the situation. Alongside the announcement of his upcoming Netflix movie, LIFT, Hart wrote:
“Gotta get that anger up outcha champ… It’s honestly sad.” In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER to my next film “LIFT” which will be dropping on @netflix in 8 days!!!!!,’” Hart wrote.
‘They Really Love You’
Not one to miss an opportunity for some playful banter, the Me Time star took a direct swipe at Katt Williams in the trailer. Referring to a scene where actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw says:
“They Really Love You,” Hart humorously stated, “@gugumbatharaw [Gugu Mbatha-Raw] says ‘They Really Love You’… I now know she’s talking about ‘Katt.’ Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is SPECIAL!!!!”
Following Hart’s response, fans flooded the comment section with their opinions on the ongoing feud and the trailer.
One user named @PRBUchiha couldn’t help but take a shot at Hart, commenting, “Katt Williams put you in a blender.” Another user named @queennaturally expressed disappointment in Hart’s recent work, stating, “Kevin, you’re not even funny anymore. Especially because you’re so eager to appeal to a YT[white] audience now. The movie is probably as corny as your comedy is nowadays.”
The Infamous Interview
The animosity between Hart and Williams stems from an interview Williams gave on the Club Shay Shay podcast, released on January 3.
Williams referred to Hart as an “industry plant,” asserting that he had not put in the same years of work performing at comedy clubs as himself and other comedians. Williams also called out comedians Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and others in the interview.

Katt Williams Calls Out Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart & More In Fiery Interview
In an interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast released on Jan. 3, Williams vented about Cedric The Entertainer stealing one of his jokes from the past.
According to Williams, Cedric believed he could get away with it since Williams was a relatively unknown comedian at the time.
“He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know. The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’sComicView twice. It had done so well… that they made it part of the commercial,” Williams said.
Williams added:
“This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke. 1998, I’m doing this joke…Cedric comes to The Comedy Store, he watches me in the audience, he comes backstage, he tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on The [Original] Kings Of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he just changed my car into a spaceship.”
WIlliams was referencing the comedy special movie, The Original Kings of Comedy. Williams also took a shot at Cedric by saying he looks like a walrus.
Cedric The Entertainer Responds
Cedric The Entertainer later responded to Williams on Instagram:
“Revisionist history, regardless of whatever Katts opinion My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his, I been [in] over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for [who] i am. The ppl I have put on including ‘Kat in the Hat’ At the Gibson Amphitheatre. And all that tough talk Is corny af Im [a] grown ass man. And none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I got this over here.”
Katt Williams additionally called out Steve Harvey, Cedric’s co-star in The Original Kings of Comedy, accusing him of being involved in the joke Cedric allegedly stole. Williams claimed that the shared joke, originally crafted with comedian Mark Curry, was also appropriated by Harvey:
“This is the same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had. Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wear a suit.” The sitcom in question was The Steve Harvey Show and Curry’s Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.
Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Williams’ explosive interview. One user named @Teewhyfene commented “Katt Williams a legend and I’m happy he gets to get his truth heard,” and one other user named @Thats_wildddd commented, “He damn sure aint lyin Cedric never ever been funny to me and really just rode off the coat tails of all the other comedians in that “kings of comedy.”
Katt Williams Calls Out Rickey Smiley
Additionally, Williams targeted Rickey Smiley, debunking Smiley’s claims that he was originally cast as Money Mike in the movie Friday After Next. Williams accused Smiley of lying and mockingly criticized his acting skills. Williams questioned why Smiley had not been offered significant movie roles in recent years, stating:
“Rickey Smiley can’t act because Rickey Smiley can’t act.”
Unsurprisingly, Kevin Hart also found himself in Williams’ line of fire. Williams referred to Hart as an “industry plant,” insinuating that Hart’s rise to fame lacked the long underground career typically associated with successful comedians.
“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show and being in line for him getting a standing ovation at any comedy club. What do you think a plant is?”
Williams said as he raised his voice. Williams also said that he is tired of the narrative of him being “bitter and jealous” during his comedy hiatus.
The full interview is now available on YouTube.
Stay Warm
In other news about Cedric The Entertainer, he recently teamed up with Houston rapper Trae The Truth by delivering blankets, jackets, and coats to the homeless shortly before New Year’s Day. Local media was there to capture the kind gesture from Trae and Cedric.
Kanye Says Cardi B Is An ‘Industry Plant’
One other celebrity that called fellow celebrities out was rap star Kanye West. In a leaked video from 2018, Kanye called out rapper Cardi B and said that she was an industry plant. He was also frustrated with producing songs for Pusha T, Nas, and Teyana Taylor as well as others and not being appreciated.
Tiffany Haddish made reference to Katt Williams in her latest stand-up set, after Williams implied that she was an industry plant whom Kevin Hart “opened the gate for”. “At the Comedy Store, they wouldn’t let me perform at the white nights but I performed at all the Black nights,” Haddish told a hyped-up audience.
Haddish previously addressed Williams’ explosive appearance on Club Shay Shay, taking to Instagram soon after the interview dropped. “I am not mad I just wish he would get his facts right about me,” she wrote. “Dang I guess I will send him a reminder text. But are we sure that is Katt Williams? He looks a lot like Charleston White,” Haddish wrote on Instagram. It’s a similar response that she previously gave to Williams in 2020. In that instance, he implied she was only famous because she slept with white men.
Elsewhere in the bombastic interview, Williams invoked Jonathan Majors to explain why he doesn’t mess with white women. “You can be Kang the Conqueror and they can still take your rabbit a– down in two weekends,” Williams noted. His statement was to highlight the power white women hold over Black men. Furthermore, Williams claimed that white women would also often make it abundantly clear to him that they had the power to take him down if they wanted to. “You see how he got a Black woman and she got his charges cut in half? Thank God for Meagan Good,” Williams added.
The comedian’s comments come weeks after a New York court found Majors guilty of misdemeanor reckless assault in the third degree and a violation of harassment. However, Majors was acquitted on additional charges of assault and aggravated harassment. The actor, who Marvel is replacing in the role of Kang the Conqueror, will be sentenced in February. Other people were spoken about less favorably. Chris Tucker, Cedric the Entertainer, and Steve Harvey.
This week, there’s been a LOT of talk about Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay. That’s because t a new episode dropped that features a number of unbelievable stories and explosive allegations told by Katt Williams. The comedian showed up to the podcast with a lot on his mind. He shared his takes on many of the biggest stories of the day, re-ignited beef with various actors and comedians, and made some accusations that fans called straight-up conspiratorial.
In the wake of the attention-grabbing episode, many viral posts were made about it. Among them was a tweet identifying the drama brought out on the podcast and comparing it to another celebs show. “Club Shay Shay ain’t nothing but Caresha Please for n*ggas,” the tweet read. It connected Sharpe’s program to City Girls rapper Yung Miami’s own podcast. Miami didn’t take kindly to the viral post and though she didn’t respond to it directly she made a tweet that many fans interpreted as being about the post. “Yall always got me & Caresha please name in yall mouth. STFU if it’s not that good who tf be watching it then? Corny ass b*tches,” her response read. Check out her full response to the post and fan reactions to it below.
The Katt Williams interview has been a lightning rod for controversy in the past few days. That started with the numerous beefs he either started or doubled down on. He brought up a decades old joke stealing scandal to explain why he still has issues with Cedric The Entertainer and Steve Harvey.
Those that he called out hit back with mixed reactions. Comedian Rickey Smiley took the high road making sure everybody knew it was all love. On the other hand, Ludacris recorded a freestyle hitting back with a return diss. What do you think about Yung Miami being so upset that her podcast Caresha Please was being compared to Club Shay Shay? Let us know in the comment section below.
Despite the internet being my primary source of income, I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that the whole endeavor was a mistake and we should shut it all down for a while. The latest straw on the camel’s extremely stressed back is the fact that we are once again discussing the Illuminati, the supposed secret society allegedly running the world from behind the scenes. That this is thanks to comedian Katt Wiliams, whose last truly notable stand-up special was in 2008 (yeah, I said it) makes the whole thing doubly maddening.
Yet, here we are, with Ludacris rapping his response to Katt Williams’ recent viral interview claims. During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast (which, should we just start calling them “talk shows” again?), Williams leveled accusations at entertainment industry peers ranging from plausible (that Cedric The Entertainer stole his jokes) to outright laughable. One of the latter claims was that Katt and Ludacris were both up for roles in the 2001 Fast & Furious sequel — the one with the “ejecto seato, cuz” — but that Luda got the role because he was “in the Illuminati” and cut his then-signature sideburns. Here’s the clip:
Katt Williams tells Shannon Sharpe that he turned down an offer from the Illuminati, but rapper and actor Ludacris accepted it.
He also speaks on Kevin Hart wearing a dress as a humiliation ritual.
Both Ludacris and Kevin Hart have been featured in multiple films making them… pic.twitter.com/3vU2ntBCK4
Completely aside from the fact that this flies in the face of established history — Luda didn’t cut his hair until 2006, five years AFTER 2 Fast 2 Furious hit the box office — you’d think if Katt wanted to disassociate himself from the supposed Illuminati member, he wouldn’t have appeared on Luda’s 2004 album The Red Light District You can fool the Zoomers, Katt. I was there. I remember. Also, not for nothing, the Fast franchise basically died after that, with only a surprise Vin Diesel cameo in Tokyo Drift saving future installments from the bargain DVD bin, and even then, Luda didn’t come back until the fifth installment, a decade later. I don’t know, just seems like “the Illuminati” could manage a better turnaround. (P.S. Luda’s got an afro again.)
Anyway, Ludacris himself decided to address the nonsense (sigh) with a freestyle. While he doesn’t mention Katt by name, it’s pretty obvious who he’s talking about when he says, “Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.” Yikes. I guess we’ll pray for you, Katt.
Comedian Katt WIlliams really shook the room among rappers and comedians alike on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, which has prompted almost all the people mentioned to respond including famous funny man Kevin Hart.
Katt suggested that Hart is an “industry plant”, asking, “Has there ever been a comedian to get their own sitcom and a starring role in a movie like Hart did with “Soul Plane” on their first year in Los Angeles?” Hart responded to Williams on X, saying, “Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad. In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER to my next film ‘LIFT’ which will be dropping on @netflix in 8 days!!!!! There is a moment in the trailer where @gugumbatharaw says ‘They Really Love You’….I now know she’s talking about ‘Katt’ Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is SPECIAL!!!!”
Shannon Sharpe has defended himself against criticism stemming from his now-viral interview with Katt Williams. “I never said I was a journalist. I am not an interviewer. What I always say at the start of my show is that the person who is coming on the show is coming over for a conversation and a drink. I’m a conversationalist,” Sharpe explained to his Nightcap co-host Chad Johnson. Furthermore, Sharpe noted that his show gets the big-name guests that it does because Sharpe offers a “safe space” for them to come and talk.
However, much of the criticism for the interview stems from Sharpe’s passive role as host. In essence, Sharpe just let Williams talk for two hours without much guidance. The most input Sharpe typically had was the occasional outraged interjection when Williams said something particularly wild. Sharpe’s insistence that he is not a journalist and has never called himself a journalist is indicative of a major trend in the media landscape. Many people who would once be called journalists are now “content creators” because it sheds the weight of responsibility that the term “journalist” comes with. Sharpe doesn’t need to fact-check his guests because he’s not there to interview them, he’s there to have an informal chat with them.
Gilbert Arenas Defends Kevin Hart To Shannon Sharpe
Despite this, many people in the comedy industry have come with harsh words for Williams. Gilbert Arenas adamantly defended Kevin Hart during a conversation with Sharpe after Williams called Hart an “industry plant”.
