Kaliii’s New EP Marks The Start Of “FCK GIRL SZN”: Stream

In 2022, Kaliii finally dropped her second mixtape, Toxic Chocolate, which helped her solidify her own identity outside of the braggadocious NSFW raps she rose to fame with. As she continues to perfect her debut album, the Southern starlet has shared a new EP with hip-hop heads this weekend, aptly titled FCK GIRL SZN. While the more lonely in society are focused on finding a partner to cuddle up with this fall, Kaliii’s mind is obviously anywhere but.

The four-track effort begins with the Atlanta native’s previously released Young Nudy collab, “Say Too Much.” Following that we have a joint effort from Kaliii and GloRilla called “Can’t Get ‘Em,” which proves just how far both female lyricists have come since they were initially cast into the spotlight. The sole solo track on FCK GIRL SZN is “Stand On It,” marking the penultimate spot before NLE Choppa joins Kaliii on her final title, “K Toven.”

Kaliii Taps NLE Choppa to Join Her on “K Toven”

The newly Scooter Braun-managed artist had already shared the DJ Smallz 732-produced track as her own, but when she heard what Choppa had to offer, Kaliii couldn’t resist another collab. “Heard them b**ches say they outside / Where they at? We gon’ slide / Runnin’ through his bag like it’s mine / Said I love him, I was lyin’,” the 23-year-old quickly spits as her infectious beat begins. It’s unclear when she plans to follow FCK GIRL SZN with more, but we’ll happily take it whenever it comes.

Check out NLE Choppa’s verse on Kaliii’s “K Toven” above. If you’re feeling that, take some time to tap into the full EP on Spotify/Apple Music. Flyana Boss Take Another Lap With Kaliii And Missy Elliott For Their ‘You Wish’ Remix

For months, Flyana Boss‘ breakout hit “You Wish” has dominated social media feeds while showing off all the brand deals that they’ve been swimming in. But just when it seemed like the hit had run its course — literally — the self-proclaimed “weird Black girl” duo finds their second wind, taking a victory lap with a remix featuring both a peer in fellow Atlanta hitmaker Kaliii and the original weird Black girl, Missy Elliott.

All four women hit their stride early on the new track, with Kaliii sneering at accusations of one-hit-wonderism, Folayan wondering “what we runnin’ from?” and Bobbi comparing herself to Erykah Badu because she keeps a bag (a reference to Badu’s single “Bag Lady”) and it’s “on and on” (a reference to… well… “On & On”). But then Missy takes the baton to run anchor and reminds the world why she’s in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Flyana Boss’ breakout moment clearly still has legs — and those legs have all the potential to carry the Dallas-and-Detroit duo to the top. You can catch them live on Janelle Monáe’s The Age Of Pleasure Tour> and check out the remix of “You Wish” above.

Like many other female rappers in their early 20s right now, Kaliii undoubtedly has a lot to be proud of. She previously dropped hits like “Wet,” “Ms. Lick Back,” and most recently, “Area Codes” over the years. Now, she has a management deal with Scooter Braun’s SB Projects to add to her list of achievements. Variety shared the news on Friday (August 4). It comes shortly after her collaboration with K-Pop group Fifty Fifty on “Barbie Dreams” for the Barbie movie soundtrack.

Others managed by Hybe America’s company include Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, The Kid LAROI, Quavo, Demi Lovato, and more. It’s safe to say she’s in good hands, so long as she doesn’t end up in Taylor Swift’s shoes (or on Braun’s bad side). We’re unsure exactly what Kaliii’s been doing to celebrate the big news. From the looks of her latest Instagram post, she’s stepped away from her home to spend some time showing off her bodacious bikini body in the tropics.

“I hate home,” the 23-year-old wrote in the caption of her photo dump. It first gives us a look at her hourglass figure in a barely there brown satin bathing suit. In the second snap, we see Kalii turn around to flaunt her cheeks. They’re partially hidden by her stunning knee-length hair. She’s notably caught the attention of several other lyricists in the comments, including New York’s Ice Spice and OnlyFans content creator Rubi Rose.

Elsewhere, Trinidad James (who just debuted some fierce Sexyy Red nails of his own), gassed the Atlanta native up while encouraging her to drop another album in the near future. Besides Kaliii’s curvaceous new vacation photos, we also saw Spice stunting in her white bikini earlier this weekend. Check out those images at the link below, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Kaliii Mashes Up Jersey Club And Classical Music On Her Hammering New Single ‘KToven’

As the samples utilized in hip-hop spinoffs like drill and Jersey club have gotten wilder and wilder, it was only a matter of time until someone reached way back and started plugging in classical music. Kaliii beats everybody to the punch with her new single “KToven,” which as you might expect, mashes up a Beethoven standard (“Für Elise”) with a hammering (get it?) Jersey club beat. In the video, which Kaliii dropped today along with the song, Black ballerinas surround a grand piano doing pliés while the Atlanta rapper sticks to twerking.

“KToven” is one hell of a follow-up to Kaliii’s prior single, “Area Codes,” which was billed by many as one of the songs of the summer. “Area Codes” had a string of follow-up remixes, including the “850 Remix” with Luh Tyler and the “773 Remix” with Mello Buckzz. She eventually put them together into the Area Codes Edition of her debut EP, Toxic Chocolate.

Kaliii also teamed up with burgeoning K-pop girl group FIFTY FIFTY on the Barbie soundtrack single, “Barbie Dreams.” The former XXL Freshman is on a roll and doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon.

Rising Atlanta Star Kaliii Issues The ‘Area Codes Edition’ Of Her Debut EP, ‘Toxic Chocolate’

A lot has happened for rising Atlanta star Kaliii since Uproxx last spoke to her about the release of her debut EP, Toxic Chocolate. In addition to landing on the 2022 XXL Freshman list, her April single “Area Codes” has taken off, spawning a multitude of remixes featuring Luh Tyler, Mello Buckzz, and more. She was also highlighted at the BET Awards earlier this month, highlighting how far she’s come.

Now, with a slight name change and a new era ahead of her — those extra two “i’s” make all the difference — she’s turning the page with a deluxe reissue of Toxic Chocolate: Area Codes Edition and collecting all those remixes into one compilation, Area Codes: The Remixes. The new version of the EP adds the breakout hit, which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, and establishes her name change, which will kick in on DSPs within the next few weeks.

Along with the reissue, Kaliii has become an in-demand feature rapper, appearing on BreezyLYN’s “Bad Bitches” remix alongside Brooklyn breakout Lola Brooke and Finesse2Tymes’ “Shiesty” with St. Louis standout Sexyy Red.

You can check out the “718” remix of “Area Codes” featuring Kenzo B up top.
