JT’s Fans Claim She Disrespected Lil Uzi Vert On National Boyfriend’s Day

JT and Lil Uzi Vert have been dating since 2019. They are one of the longest lasting relationships in hip hop, excluding the marriages. Which is why fans were both surprised and disappointed that JT failed to post anybody on October 3. For context, October 3 is National Boyfriend’s Day. The rapper was called out online for what was perceived as a disrespectful move. The backlash grew so strong, in fact, that JT decided to hop on Instagram Live in an attempt to clear things up.

JT claimed that she wasn’t in a good headspace on National Boyfriend’s Day. “I was PMS’ing,” she said. “I was mean… like so b*tchy to my man.” The former City Girls rapper went on to reveal that she did have a post for Lil Uzi Vert planned. “I’m gonna make a post about my man on Instagram,” she claimed. “I was just like, looking for a song to use. I put ‘Cater 2 U,’ and then I put Keyshia Cole, ‘Trust.’” The Uzi Vert post never saw the light of day, however. JT didn’t have a reason why. “I don’t even know why I never got to post it,” she admitted. JT proceeded to delve into her own insecurities around sharing her life with the fans. She explained that she has a hard time opening up about her life, despite being “proud” of who she is with.

JT Claims She Forgot To Post About Lil Uzi Vert

“I’m just not that girl, and I want to become that girl,” the rapper claimed. “I wanna start being more posty, and letting y’all know… I got a man, I love my man. And I love my life.” JT’s told fans that her big reason for being reluctant is that she believes people would want to see her sad if she posted about how happy she was all the time. “I am a happy person,” she confirmed. “I have a great f*cking life… should show y’all more.” JT’s timing could not have been worse, in terms of public perception. The last time Lil Uzi Vert spoke on their girlfriend publicly, they went viral for all the right reasons.

Lil Uzi Vert gave a street interview on August 3. The woman interviewing Uzi attempted to get their phone number, but the rapper refused. “I got a girlfriend,” they explained. “[I’m] dating JT right now.” When pressed further on the matter, Lil Uzi Vert doubled down and made an even bolder statement. “[I’m] dating JT forever.” The woman jokingly noted that Uzi’s comments ruined their interview, but the clip quickly went viral on TikTok. Many fans championed Lil Uzi Vert for being loyal to JT and for being proud of their relationship in a public space.

Nicki Minaj Tells Fans To Stop Asking Questions Amidst Ice Spice Beef

Nicki Minaj had quite a bit to say on August 21. The rapper didn’t name names, but she made lots of statements that all felt based around a few specific people. The people in question? The pair she went and unfollowed on Instagram the same day: JT and Ice Spice. Minaj cut ties with the up-and-coming rappers. She then proceeded to criticize younger rappers who go and sign with white owned record labels over her own Heavy On It imprint. THEN she wagged her finger at her fans and claimed she’s through talking about “other people.”

There’s obviously a lot to unpack here. We already covered Nicki Minaj’s comments about labels, which you can check out here. The rant about “other people,” however, was perhaps the most intriguing piece of content that Minaj generated on Wednesday. The rapper addressed her fanbase directly, and said she has no plans to discuss people who are outside of her inner circle. “Don’t ask me about nobody,” she asserted. “If you don’t see someone around me, don’t ask me about them.” Nicki Minaj then advised curious parties to direct any questions at these other people.

Nicki Minaj Told Barbz They Don’t Know The ‘Truth’

“Go and talk to them,” the rapper added. “The truth of the matter is that y’all don’t want to know the truth of the matter.” The last line reads a bit like a Minaj bar, but it does also suggest that there’s more to the story than fans are getting to see. It’s not a stretch to infer that the rapper is talking about JT and Ice Spice. Nicki Minaj has had very public falling outs with both of these artists. In the case of Ice Spice, the relationship went from mutually supportive and collaborative to contentious in the span of a year. Minaj and Spice worked together on “Princess Diana” in 2023, and now they don’t even follow each other on Instagram.

In May 2024, texts claiming to belong to Ice Spice leaked online. The texts saw the “Munch” rapper complain about Nicki Minaj, calling her “ungrateful and delusional” and likening Minaj to her mother. From there, the alleged Ice Spice texts blasted Minaj for being “jealous” of the fact that the younger rapper owned her masters. Real or not, these leaked texts were seemingly the straw that broke the camel’s back. Minaj and Spice are on the outs. Don’t ask Minaj about it though, per her request.

Nicki Minaj Calls Out Rappers For Signing With White Record Labels

Nicki Minaj had a bone to pick on Wednesday night. The rapper decided to hop on social media and air out her frustrations with the upcoming generation of artists. She initially made headlines for unfollowing the likes of JT and Ice Spice on Instagram, but Minaj had bigger fish to fry. The Young Money icon had a serious issue with the fact that so many African American artists are choosing to sign with record labels owned by white people. Minaj went on to contrast this pattern with the label she owns, Heavy On It.

“Motherf*cker tell somebody they don’t want to sign with Heavy On It,” she noted. “But then they’ll go and sign with the white peoples. And guess who the white peoples finna call?” Nicki Minaj then names herself. “They always get the attention of the Barbz.” The rapper took things a step further by claiming that the upcoming version of her album, Pink Friday 2, will be limited to Heavy On It signees. The names she considers worth spotlighting. “You will be surprised,” Minaj noted. “And I’m not talking about doing ad-libs on any songs. If your name is not on Pink Friday 2, they’re not a Heavy On It artist.”

Nicki Minaj Wants More Artists To Sign To Her Label

The Heavy On It connection seems somewhat connected to Nicki Minaj’s problems with Ice Spice. It was widely speculated that Ice Spice was signed with Heavy On it in 2023. It was later confirmed, though, that the “Munch” rapper had inked a deal with Virgin Records. Spice’s debut album, Y2K, was just put out through Virgin. Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice experienced joint success with their single “Princess Diana.” That said, there has been nothing but tension between the two since. The fact that Minaj unfollowed Ice Spice on IG is further proof that things are not friendly between them.

It’s worth zooming out and looking at Nicki Minaj’s record deal. The rapper signed to Young Money in 2009. Lil Wayne and Birdman were the figureheads of Young Money, but the label is part of Universal Music Group. Who owns UMG? Lucian Grainge. The same Lucian Grainge Kanye West ranted about when he was dissing Drake on the “Like That” remix. Nicki Minaj may be frustrated with the decisions that younger artists have made, but she’s technically guilty of the same sin she’s accusing them of.

JT’s First Week Numbers For “City Cinderella” Stirs Up A Back-And-Forth Debate

On July 19, City Girls rapper JT put full belief in herself to shake things up a bit by dropping City Cinderella. Her debut solo mixtape, powered by singles such as “OKAY”, its remix with Jeezy, and “Sideways”, has been receiving quite the favorable reaction from reviewers. While it isn’t necessarily blowing people out of the water, the scores are very solid. We are in that same boat, as we feel that JT put forth some standout performances and chose some thumping beats. There are moments of repetition, and the features don’t really add much, but overall, it’s a respectable debut.

With it being well over a week now since its release, the final numbers are in for City Cinderella. In terms of sales, it pulled in 26,000, according to That Grape Juice. That is just 1,000 less than the original projection. As for what that means in terms of charting, it slots in at 27th on the Billboard Hot 200. For context, RAW, the City Girls’ last project, did just 6,000. Additionally, it competed with the likes of Childish Gambino and Denzel Curry’s bodies of work that week, and it actually outdueled the latter substantially.

Now that the final stats are in, its causing quite the debate online. On one hand, fans are extremely proud of JT. Their argument is that based on what RAW did, 26,000 is a substantial increase and that progress is progress. Conversely, this stance has some riled up. People on this side are calling out the ones who were gassing it up, but still didn’t decide to a buy it. Essentially, they feel that these fans are coddling JT and not keeping it real. For example, here are two differing quotes. “27k is not good. For an established artist. Regardless if this is her first solo effort”. “Her last project did 6k, the goal is to do better than your last project. Give my girl her 10’s ❤”.

What are your thoughts on the first week sales numbers for JT’s City Cinderella? Whose side are you on in this debate and why? What songs are you revisiting from her debut mixtape? Do Nicki Minaj And JT Have Beef?

nicki minaj

Even after a short-lived dust up (and a resurfaced a diss track), Nicki Minaj and JT seemed to have put their animosity to the side. Since then, the ladies have appeared on livestreams, stages, and records together.

However, after the release of JT’s debut solo mixtape, City Cinderella, fans believe the beef has picked back up. Continue below for more information.

Do Nicki Minaj And JT Have Beef?

According to the Barbz themselves (Nicki Minaj’s super fans), the answer is yes. For years, Nicki Minaj has found herself at the center of multiple rap feuds (including Lil Kim, Remy Ma, and Cardi B). Due to that, Nicki has tried to keep her dislike for any other rapper private by never mentioning their name publicly.

However, around July 19, Nicki Minaj reportedly began unfollowing fans. Those, who claim to have been unfollowed, speculated that the reason why was due to their support of JT’s City Cinderella mixtape.

The rumor continued to spread after Nicki Minaj held a broadcast on Stationhead. Attendees took Nicki’s vague message as a jab at JT’s previous negative remarks.

“But you also have to question why a person would go from unliking you to loving you,” she said. “Is that odd? Well, you don’t say.”

Neither Nicki Minaj nor JT has confirmed a falling out. So, for now it is all Barbz say, Juvie say.

JT Is Equal Parts Raunchy & Witty On “90’s Baby”

Even though it has only been a day since JT put out City Cinderella, 24 hours is all we need to realize that she is a certified hitmaker now. While she did have a couple under her belt beforehand with “No Bars” and “OKAY”, seeing how she could carry that streak onto her debut mixtape was an interesting aspect going into the project. It turns out that the Yung Miami’s other half passes that test with flying colors, because JT has another one with “90’s Baby”. For starters, the Miami MC’s confident performance is the biggest reason why this track succeeds.

Here, JT is rapping about how she is essentially the baddest of them all. So much so that, “I’m the b**** he tell where he stash the bricks / I’m the b**** he cop all the rocks and s***“. These are just a couple of the hilariously blunt bars that prove why she has the male gaze on lock. What also makes “90’s Baby” tick is the terrific sample flip and incorporation from Buddah Bless. His producing talents are on full display, as he pitches and speeds up part of the chorus from Joe’s 1997 hit “All The Things (Your Man Won’t Do)”. It ties into the title and the aforementioned theme perfectly. Check out its music video, which is blowing up just as fast as JT.

Nineties findin’ b****, I never lose it (Never)
All I gotta do is post a pic, his ex day ruined (P***y h*)

Did JT Diss Cardi B On ‘City Cinderella?’

City Girls JT 2021 Revolt Summit

After months of anticipation, JT’s debut solo mixtape, City Cinderella, has hit streaming platforms. Since the disbandment of City Girls, the “Sideways” rapper has endured immense pressure from the public to outdo her work in the culture shifting duo.

Unfortunately, during the transition, JT found herself in a heap of beefs (GloRilla, Sukihana, and Cardi B). So, naturally her super fans, the Juvies, hoped that she would address it on the body of work and that she did. The most notable being toward her former collaborator Cardi B.

Did JT Diss Cardi B On City Cinderella?

The answer to this question is yes, and multiple times, according to fans. Supporters of both ladies have taken to their social media platforms to call out the subtle jabs across the album on tracks “Intro (Hope),” “Servin,” and the project’s single, “Okay.”

On “Intro (Hope),” JT brought up a longstanding rumor about Cardi B’s time as an exotic dancer. Users alleged that Cardi performed a NSFW party trick during one of her shifts with an alcohol bottle. Back in 2018, Cardi B denied the rumors. But that didn’t stop JT from joking about it, rapping:

“Non-rapping b*tch who the f*ck you talking to / I was off in Saks Gucci alligator bags while you was laying on your back and shoving bottles in your ass.”

Then on “Servin,” JT clapped back at Cardi B’s remarks about her fashion sensibilities. Previously, the pair were entangled in a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter) about JT ripping looks from Cardi B’s past, among other things. She raps on “Servin”:

“I got on sh*t you can’t pronounce, wait, let me spell it out / L-O-E-W-E and I don’t care ’bout the amount / These b*tches into fashion mad ’cause I’m into fashion / Mad I got that sh*t on and they sh*t was in the past tense / Talkin’ ’bout you had that sh*t on in 2017, b*tch, it’s 2024 / And you ain’t got that sh*t no more, hoe / You ain’t got that sh*t no more, hoe / I’m that b*tch, I’m that b*tch, and you can’t stand it, ho.”

Last, on the project’s breakout single, “Okay,” fans caught the shade JT threw about Cardi B cracking her tooth on a hard bagel. Although JT altered the details (which lead to a dust up with Sukihana), the line was supposedly intended to whack Cardi:

“Maserati mami, and the roof missin / She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missin’ / Cheap-ass veneers, you stay talkin’ sh*t / Put a marker to this b*tch, she’s so counterfeit.”

City Cinderella is out now via Quality Control. Find more information here.

JT’s “City Cinderella” Is For The Haters & The Self-Confident Girlies

JT is continuing to grow her solo portfolio away from the City Girls with City Cinderella. However, if you enjoy those anti-hater anthems, do not fret. Yung Miami’s other half is providing that and then some for 16 tracks (“Servin”, “JT Coming”, “Star Of The Show”). In addition to that though, we are also getting some background information on what makes JT tick. For example, fans will come to learn that she did not have it easy growing up. It is where she gets her subsequent resilience and confidence just moments later on “Intro (Hope)”. “Thesе are facts, ask the b****es on my block how / I was parked at them stoves with them pieces in my socks / And I’m still hot, in the summer, terry cloth / Made it to the top and I swear I’ll never stop“.

Songs like this help break up some of the monotonous qualities of a tape filled with cuts about that aforementioned self-assurance. However, with those tracks being so well produced and performed, you almost forget about that. Overall, JT presents herself with so much poise and it is why City Cinderella works for what it was set out to accomplish. On top of giving fans this eagerly awaited debut mixtape, JT also has loads of other goodies. One of them is a 20 plus minute documentary, which further delves into the rapper’s solo journey, obstacles, and the rise of the City Girls. Additionally, the Miami, Florida native recently announced the tour surrounding this inaugural solo project. It will kick off on August 20 and will run through September 22.
