Well, Budden’s recent hot take will have them on the attack yet again.
Yesterday (March 2), in a teaser clip for a forthcoming episode, Budden boldly claimed rap fans shouldn’t get excited about the push for women acts. “Y’all ain’t gonna want to hear it from me, but the girl rapper wave is over,” he said. “Just telling you what it is. I’m normally a few months ahead with this stuff, sometimes a few years ahead with this stuff. The girl rapper wave is finito.”
Budden went on to share the reasonings behind his claim. “I think labels are looking at it like, ‘Very few of y’all are selling records, it’s too much work to get your coin back, we got to go do brand deals all over the world with y’all, y’all are expensive, some of y’all are annoying,’ and none of these records are working,” he said.
But all hope isn’t lost, according to him, as there are a select few recording artists that he expects to have longevity. “The cream rises to the top,” he said. “So, Latto shall remain; Flo Milli shall remain; Rapsody will always be there, but she wasn’t really a part of [that scene]. But all of that, ‘Go find a girl, send her to Columbia, get it done, put her in the studio with fucking Mike WiLL [Made-It] or any one of them n****s’ … all that planting the girl in the scene, getting the record and it taking off — that wave is over.”

Moreover, he took to social media to share his desire to cop a pair and his support of No. 45, while dissing current president Joe Biden and his VP Kamala Harris. “I’m tying to find my n***a Donald Trump’s gym shoes, man,” the Detroit rapper shared in a new clip. “The Trump 1s, man. If anybody got them b***hes in 13, call me. F**k Joe Biden, I’m rocking with Trump. F**k Kamala Harris, I rock with Trump. Free Trump! Free Big Slime! If you got the motherf***ing gold 1s, call me! I want them right now!”
Furthermore, this is what Fox News’ Raymond Arroyo said about the shoes and about how he thinks folks will react. “This is connecting with Black America because they love sneakers. This is a big deal, certainly in the inner city. So when you have Trump roll out his sneaker line, they’re like, ‘Wait a minute, this is cool.’ He’s reaching them on a level that defies and is above politics.” Needless to say, Peezy is the exception and not the rule, because Arroyo got absolutely cooked for this take.
In fact, you may recall another curious rap crossover that happened concerning these new Trump sneakers. Kanye West apparently shared a clip of the shoes’ reveal on Instagram with the caption along the lines of “This made me smile.” That’s because the clip in question made it seem like the indicted former president played Ye’s song “CARNIVAL” over the reveal. It’s unclear whether he edited this himself or he fell for someone else’s trolling, but it definitely wasn’t the song that the 77-year-old played.
Meanwhile, another recent endorsement of the Republican candidate came from none other than Snoop Dogg, who had dissed him before. Actually, this comment almost prevented Snoop’s Death Row affiliate Harry-O from receiving his presidential pardon. The Black Music Action Coalition is calling on President Joe Biden to use his executive authority to pass racial equality and reparative justice legislation. BMAC co-founder and CEO Willie “Prophet” Stiggers explained the work the group wants done in a statement noted by AllHipHop.

In fact, Biden thinks Trump is someone who loves to see people suffer. “The president has described Trump to longtime friends and close aides as a ‘sick f*ck’ who delights in others’ misfortunes, according to three people who have heard the president use the profane description,” Politico reported. “According to one of the people who has spoken with the president, Biden recently said of Trump: “’What a f*cking asshole the guy is.’”

On Monday Fox News host Martha MacCallum brought on Outkick host Charly Arnolt, who last year got in a tizzy over Disney casting a non-white actress to play Snow White — you know, despite her name. This time Arnolt was, as many on the right weirdly are right now, up in arms over Time’s 2023 Person of the Year, especially since her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is going to the Super Bowl.
Noting grimly that Swift endorsed Biden in 2020, Arnolt said she’s so worried about her boyfriend going to the Super Bowl that she was rooting for the Baltimore Ravens to beat the Chiefs, “just because we have had enough of Taylor Swift for now.”
Alas, the Ravens lost and Swift’s boyfriend is going to the Super Bowl. But all is not lost. Arnolt noted that there’s an online poll “begging people to become 9ers fans for the next two weeks, just so it doesn’t raise Travis Kelcie aka Mr. Phizer’s star power along with, of course, Taylor Swift.”
Nevermind that it’s probably not possible for Swift to become any more famous than she is already. But that’s what so freezes Arnolt’s blood.
“It is so scary! There’s a recent poll: 1/5th of Taylor Swift fans said they would back whatever candidate she endorsed,” Arnolt warned viewers. She allowed that a good chunk of her fanbase are “15-year-old girls who can’t vote anyways” and that “a lot of the others are liberal women who would support the DNC no matter what.
“But,” Arnolt prophesized, “there’s a lot of other people who need to be careful, because she doesn’t do what she says. For example, the other day, yesterday, she flew private from New York City to Baltimore. Yet she constantly talks about climate change.”
Arnolt asked anyone watching her to “please don’t believe everything Taylor Swift says. We’re all begging you.”
And so continues the right’s bizarre war on someone whose fanbase is not only gargantuan but militant against anyone who dares besmirch her, be they Golden Globes hosts or, possibly, Fox News regulars. Besides, what better way to lock down the youth vote than to the most popular celebrity under 35.
Rick Ross addressed supporters of former President Donald Trump in a recent video circulating on social media. In doing so, he brought up the narrative about the economy being better before Joe Biden took office. He asked his followers whether they were truly doing better at the time or they had just been stealing money.
“Let’s make it clear, you vote for who you wanna vote for, it’s fine with me, but one of my homies, he was just like, ‘I can’t wait ’til Trump get back in here. He had a n**ga eatin’.’ And I just don’t want nobody to be a delusional. You can’t be a delusional n**ga.
