A source close to TV host Jeannie Mai Jenkins has shut down rumors that Jenkins cheated on ex-husband Jeezy with actor and TV host Mario Lopez. Furthermore, the source told TMZ that infidelity has played no part in the high-profile divorce between the rapper and The Real host. There never appeared to be any concrete evidence supporting the claim that Jenkins had been unfaithful to Jeezy. The rumors that she strayed with Lopez appeared to rely exclusively on the fact that Jenkins had co-hosted a week of episodes of Access Hollywood with Lopez last month and the pair had good chemistry.

In fact, recent reports have described Jenkins as being left “devastated” by the divorce. Furthermore, a source who spoke to Page Six claimed that Jenkins was holding out for reconciliation. “She wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down. However, not everyone is feeling sorry for Jenkins. A number of old clips of Jenkins making some problematic remarks have surfaced in the weeks following the divorce going public. Perhaps the most notable of these clips is one where Jenkins appeared to admit to fetishizing Black men. “Love Black guys. But for me – dark meat on the side, white meat keeps me lean and mean,” Mai says in the fairly shocking clip from The Real. However, Mai then immediately tried to walk it back after being, rightfully called out for essentially saying she wants her “main man” to be white.

Many people online have called out this clip as Mai fetishizing Black men, especially as she refers to them as “dark” later in the clip. Furthermore, people have taken issue with how casually and blatantly Mai refers to it. Not only does she refer to men as “meat”, but she also casually admits to enjoying having a Black man as a side piece to sate her attraction to Black men. Jeannie Mai is reportedly “devasted” by Jeezy’s decision to file for divorce. An insider states Mai “wants her family unit back” and hopes that Jeezy turns back on the divorce.

“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit,” a source said to Page Six. “She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce.”

In addition to being devasted, Jeannie reportedly “deeply loves Jeezy” and wants to work things out. “She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”

Jeannie is now hoping that Jeezy would be willing to work toward a resolution and take divorce off the table.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai’s seemingly sudden divorce now has additional detail. The split between the two celebrities is reportedly due to “certain family values and differences.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, an insider stated, “They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met.” Jeezy filed for divorce last week, citing their marriage is “irretrievably broken” in the court documents.

The filing was placed in the Fulton County Superior Court, and the two have already separated. There is a prenuptial agreement in place.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jeezy is seeking joint custody of their daughter.

If completed, the divorce would end a marriage that began in March 2021. The ceremony was at their home during the pandemic.

Recently, Mai celebrated Jeezy’s new book, Adversity for Sale: Ya Gotta Believe. “Your story has always been an inspiration to me, but seeing it in print has left me even more in awe of your strength and wisdom,” she wrote on Instagram. “You invited us into the most intimate corners of your life, where pain and triumph coexist.”

In January 2022, Jeannie and Jeezy welcomed their child. “I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family… Baby Jenkins is Here 🍼 ❤. ” Which included a shot of the newborn blankets sitting in the hospital baby bassinet with a sign that covered the usual name of baby, weight, length, and time of birth that simply said, Jenkins.   

Best known for co-presenting the daytime talk show, Jeannie Mai began trying to start a family with Jeezy before their March 2021 wedding. After suffering a pregnancy loss, she considered in vitro fertilization but ended up conceiving naturally.  

“It was the most beautiful sign that anything’s possible, that you’re not in control and God has a plan,” she told Women’s Health in September 2021 while announcing her pregnancy news.

“Being a mom is hands down the hardest role in the entire world. Now that we’re bringing another Jenkins into the picture, I have no idea what to expect.”

Funky Dineva Shares Theories About Jeezy & Jeannie Mai’s Divorce

Funky Dineva claims to know several of the leading factors in Jeezy’s decision to divorce Jeannie Mai. In a video shared to Instagram, this week, Dineva reported that distance between the two, a lack of privacy on social media, and several more issues contributed to the split.

“I had to call up to Altanta, baby, and find out what all the hell was going on because I know people who are in their circle,” Dineva began, before admitting that the reason for their breakup is “nothing salacious.” They also cited multiple members of Mai’s family staying at their house for an extended period of time as taking a toll on the relationship, among other topics.

Jeezy filed for divorce in Fulton County Superior Court, last Thursday, and is seeking joint custody of their daughter in the separation. The two already have a prenuptial agreement in place; however, Mai reportedly plans to contest it. Jeezy has asked the court honor to the terms of his agreement. They signed the contract before their marriage in 2021. “The parties entered into Prenuptial Agreement dated March 26, 2021, that was duly signed and executed by both Petitioner and Respondent […] and resolves all financial issues incident to this divorce. The Prenuptial Agreement should be enforced and the terms set forth therein made the final Order of this Court,” court documents cited by HipHopDX read. Jeannie Mai admitted that she has a “really hot temper” with Jeezy during an interview on the Lovers and Friends Podcast, which is resurfacing online amid the rapper’s filing for divorce. Jeezy is seeking joint custody of their daughter in the separation.

During the Lovers and Friends clip, Mai explains: “I have a really hot temper. Not a lot of people know this; it’s just something in my family…but I didn’t notice it in myself until I was with Jeezy.” She was previously married to Freddy Harteis for 10 years. From there, she explained how her temper affected the relationship: “It has to do with the type of relationship you have and the type of respect you have for that person to mirror things back to you.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, an insider stated, “They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met.” Jeezy filed for divorce last week, citing their marriage is “irretrievably broken” in the court documents.

Sadly, Joe Jones and Sophie Turner aren’t the only entertainer couple looking to dissolve their relationship. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “I Ain’t Gon Hold Ya” rapper Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) and America’s Test Kitchen host Jeannie Mai are reportedly heading toward divorce, too.

After two years of marriage, Jenkins has reportedly filed for divorce from his Emmy Award-winning wife. The outlet alleged that prior to the filing with the Fulton County Superior Court, the pair had been separate for a significant period of time. They did not confirm what reason was listed in the court documents, but the publication did share that Jenkins will seek joint legal custody of the couple’s one-year-old daughter, Monaco.

The duo got married in March 2021 at their Atlanta home. Since they began dating in 2018, they’ve shared their love story with the press and documented it across social media.

During an interview with ET’s Deidre Behar, following the ceremony Jeannie Mai opened up about their life together, saying, “Oh my god. Married life feels 1,000 percent different than when we were dating, in the greatest way. I loved our dating life because we really spent such concentrated quality time getting to know each other and making sure that we were right for each other. And now being married, it’s even more handled with such delicacy and such thoughtfulness, because we’re in our 40s and we both grew up in households that weren’t healthy marriages. We have never seen what that looks like.”

Neither Jeezy nor Jeannie Mai have released a public statement regarding the matter.
