OVO Chubbs Likes IG Post Mocking ASAP Rocky’s New Drake Diss

OVO Chubbs has been riding with Drake for a decade. He’s appeared in videos and been spotted at parties with the Toronto superstar. He was even referenced by Kendrick Lamar on “Not Like Us.” The longtime OVO member has remained loyal to Drake, though, as evidenced by his recent social media activity. OVO Chubbs decided to like an Instagram post that poked fun at ASAP Rocky’s new single, “Ruby Rosary.” The single includes bars aimed at Drake, and like most people, Chubbs was not very impressed with what he heard.

@Keep6Solid made the initial IG post. It’s a pro-Drake account, as evidenced by the 6, and proceeded to lay into ASAP Rocky. The headline for the post made fun of both Rocky’s looks and his relationship with his more famous partner, Rihanna. The headline described the ASAP star as a “Metrosexual rapper and full-time kept man.” It also poked fun at J Cole, who was previously on Drake’s side before switching up. Cole contributed a verse to “Ruby Rosary,” confirming that he’s anti Aubrey moving forward. “J Cole is a slimeball,” the caption read. OVO Chubbs was seemingly onboard with both of these sentiments. He liked the post from his personal account.

OVO Chubbs’ IG Like Also Takes Shots At J Cole

ASAP Rocky’s bars are, admittedly, pretty weak. “Ruby Rosary” is a good song overall, and Cole skates, but Rocky stumbles when it comes to dissing Drizzy. Cut the sh*t, cut the lies, word to the wise,” he raps. “Who in your top five? Haha (F*ck your top five).” It’s clearly in reference to Drake, who has several top 5 bars under his belt. That said, nothing is really being said. It doesn’t get much better when ASAP Rocky tries to riff on Drake’s “Family Matters” and his “Buried Alive” interlude from 2011.

“I don’t get fresh step, b*tch, I’m buried alive,” Rocky raps. “I heard dawg talkin’ funny, like it’s Family Guy. Carin’ for n**gas like I’m Mary or Bob.” More nothing. It’s telling that Drake has become the loser of the 2024 rap beef when it comes to Kendrick Lamar. When it comes to ASAP Rocky, though, everyone agrees that Drizzy got the best of him each time out. OVO Chubbs didn’t go out of his way to bash his Harlem competitor, but his like made it clear that Rocky fell short.

Chrisean Rock Reunites With Son After Being Released From Prison: Watch

Chrisean Rock has had a difficult 2024. The rapper was arrested while attending a hearing for the father of her child, Blueface. She was subsequently accused of possession of controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute. According to TMZ, she was also accused of failure to have a tax stamp affixed to the substances in question. The rapper faced up to eight years in prison. There were rumors of her being released soon, but no concrete dates were given. It turns out that September 6 was the fateful day. The rapper was set free, and allowed to reunite with her son.

A video of Chrisean Rock holding and kissing her son was uploaded to Instagram. The rapper also wrote a lengthy, heartfelt message about how much her son means to her. “To be with you today,” Rock wrote. “Set free a couple days from your birthday is a blessing.” The rapper was behind bars when her son had his first birthday, and she admitted that missing out is something she’s going to struggle with for a long time. “Missing a significant event like a first birthday can bring feelings of sadness or regret,” she added. “But it’s also an opportunity to reflect.”

Chrisean Rock Regrets Missing Her Son’s First Birthday

Chrisean Rock was initially hesitant to turn herself in because she didn’t want to miss crucial time with her son. She made this point very clear during an Instagram Live prior to her arrest. “I have my son,” she asserted. “The old me would’ve just turned myself in… Right now I gotta play it cautious because, you know, I don’t plan on being in jail while my son is growing.” The cautious plan did not work out, however, and Chrisean Rock wound up having to miss her son’s birthday regardless.

The charges against Chrisean Rock stem from a 2022 incident. She was pulled over by police for an unpaid traffic toll, and the officers in question smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search led to the discovery of roughly one pound of cannabis inside the car. Rock’s next court date is September 27. If convicted on both of the aforementioned counts, the rapper will be behind bars for the better part of a decade.

Lil Durk Teases New Music After Dissing Current State Of Hip Hop

Lil Durk isn’t happy with the way things are going. He may be a Grammy-winning superstar, but he thinks hip hop is in a bad way. He made this clear on September 6. The rapper took to Twitter to vent about the genre and its shortcomings. “Hip hop ain’t what it used to be…,” he wrote. He didn’t get too specific with why or how the genre has let him down, but it has nonetheless. Lil Durk solution? To drop new music of his own. The rapper followed up his hot take with an Instagram announcement that he’s hungry to take over the rest of 2024.

Lil Durk hopped on Instagram and made it clear that he has new music on the way. The rapper recorded himself listening to an unreleased song, while the caption laid out his game plan. “F*ck numbers,” it read. “Feed the streets… Smurk back hungry.” The song in question is “Discontinuing Wockhardt,” the Drake collab that Adin Ross previewed a few days earlier. There’s a bit of hypocrisy in criticizing the rap game and then linking up with Drake for a new single, but Lil Durk stood on business. He thinks something is off, and he feels like he’s the guy to remedy it.

Lil Durk Teased The Release Of His New Drake Collab

Lil Durk has been transparent about his emotions over the years. He’s been outspoken in the past, but he’s also been forthright about his experiences in therapy. He shed light on the latter during an interview with Complex. “I got a therapist so I cope different,” the rapper explained. “You know, it don’t just gotta be I’m finna go take all these drugs, or I’m finna go get my feelings like this. I got my family, I got my girl, I got a therapist, I got my kids and I got the studio.”

Lil Durk’s criticisms about the genre are not wrong, even if they are vague. There’s been a general sense of uncertainty about hip hop in 2024. If your name isn’t Drake, Kendrick Lamar, or Travis Scott, it seems to be very difficult to move units. Mustard and YG fell victim to this in recent months. Big Sean, who just dropped his anticipated comeback album, just had the worst first week sales of his career. Durk is merely voicing what a lot of fans have been feeling. Is he using this feeling to generate hype for his new music? Sure. Such is the nature of the game.

Posdnuos Praises Childish Gambino For Keeping De La Soul’s Name Alive

De La Soul is forever. The legendary group is finally on streaming, and as such, an entire generation of fans are hearing them for the first time. Posdnuos has had to wait decades for his flowers, but they have finally come. The rapper credits streaming, of course, but he also credits the younger artists for keeping De La Soul relevant. In particular, Childish Gambino. Posdnuos and Gambino linked up backstage during a recent show, and the former had nothing but praise for the latter.

The link up happened at Childish Gambino’s concert in Tampa, Florida. Posdnuos posed for a series of photos with the rapper, and included them in a heartfelt Instagram post. “We caught @donaldglover & @willowsmith at the @amaliearena last night,” the De La rapper wrote. “Both shows were spectacular! My brother Donald, thank you for the kind words on @wearedelasoul legacy.” Posdnuos also had kind words for Gambino’s musical output. “We as well stand as students amongst your beautiful art. & will always be here to support,” he asserted.

Posdnuos Supports Childish Gambino’s ‘Beautiful Art’

Childish Gambino’s alternative style can be directly linked to De La Soul and the “Daisy Age” movement. The movement reached its peak in the early 1990s, and saw artists adopt a more challenging and varied sound. Childish Gambino famously covered “I’d Die Without You” on BBC Radio in 2014. The song was originated by another “Daisy Age” staple, P.M. Dawn. Gambino’s embrace of 70s funk and odd samples on his new album can also be attributed (at least somewhat) to De La. Posdnuos being a fan makes all the sense in the world.

Posdnuos is grateful for the popularity that the “Daisy Age” aesthetic brought to De La Soul, but he also acknowledged that it got old fast. He told Spin Magazine that the group didn’t want to be defined, and in breaking free of a mainstream sound, they got defined as “other.” “Every photo shoot we were going to, the photographer wanted to have a bag of daisies,” he lamented. “It was just too much.” Fortunately, the music has endured, and Posdnuos can take solace in having shaped hip hop history.

Lil Kim Recalls Her Friendship With Rich Homie Quan In Touching Tribute

Rich Homie Quan had lots of friends in the music industry. The rapper was well-liked, and had iconic collaborations with the likes of Migos and Young Thug. One friendship that was less known, however, was between Quan and Lil Kim. The two never officially collaborated on a song, and the only time they were onstage together there was controversy. Despite this, Quan and Lil Kim had a bond that stretched multiple years. The latter was devastated by Rich Homie Quan’s passing, and decided to open up about their friendship on Instagram.

Lil Kim posted a series of photos and videos the evening of September 5. The photos included her and Quan at a party together, and drinking champagne together in the back of a limo. There was also footage of the aforementioned live performance they did in 2016. Lil Kim’s caption was supremely heartfelt, and let fans in on how much Quan’s death has affected her. “This is the part of life that I’ll never get used to,” she wrote. “I’m so heartbroken. No one ever understood the dope ass friendship u and I had.”

Lil Kim And Rich Homie Quan Performed Together In 2016

Lil Kim then praised Rich Homie Quan for always being supportive and available to hang out. “U always pulled up for me no matter what,” the rapper noted. “I’ve learned in life love those who love you. Rest in Heaven my angel @richhomiequan.” The friendship between the two artists dates back to the 2016 BET Awards. Lil Kim invited Quan onstage to perform the Junior M.A.F.I.A. classic “Get Money.” Quan took on Biggie’s verse, and proceeded to flub the lyrics. He rapped “play Nintendo with Cease at Alamo” instead of the original: “play Nintendo with Cease and Nino.”

Rich Homie Quan felt bad about the flub, but Lil Kim encouraged him to recover and keep performing. Quan proceeded to issue an apology after the ceremony. “I will forever be sorry,” he wrote. “I hope you can accept my apology. To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity.” Despite the unfortunate flub, Lil Kim and Rich Homie Quan connected on a deep level. It’s clear from her Instagram tribute that Kim chooses to celebrate the good times they had instead.

Akbar V Claims Rich Homie Quan And Erica Banks Had “Secret” Relationship

The death of Rich Homie Quan has rocked the music world. There’s a collective sense of shock, given the rapper was only 34 years old. Musical peers and social media personalities who knew Rich Homie Quan have taken to social media to express their heartbreak. Erica Mena was one of these people, but her tribute turned into a much messier situation. Akbar V, Mena’s former co-star on Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, hinted at some previously unknown info about Quan. She claimed that Quan and Mena had a “secret” relationship outside of the rapper’s family.

The whole thing started innocently enough. Erica Mena simply tweeted “Quan WTF” with four heartbreak emojis. Akbar V quote tweeted Mena and proceeded to blow up her spot. She told Mena to “delete those pics and videos out of respect for his family.” Akbar V then went into more detail about Rich Homie Quan and Mena’s relationship, alleging they had a long-standing connection. “You was a secret,” she added. “And not saying what y’all shared was fake but certain stuff should remain a secret.”

Erica Mena Deleted Her Rich Homie Quan Tribute On Twitter

It’s a bit odd to tell someone to keep a secret and then proceed to share the secret with the world, but that’s precisely what Akbar V did. She told Erica Mena that she better be careful with what she reveals now that Rich Homie Quan is dead. “Here comes all the unwanted hate towards you that you didn’t even know existed,” she warned. “Think before you do stuff lil one.” Mena didn’t say or do anything that was incriminating before Akbar V’s post. She did, however, remove her initial post after Akbar V’s warning.

It remains to be seen whether the Quan claims are true. Mena deleting the post is a little suspicious, but the Love and Hip Hop star has a long, sordid history with Akbar V. It’s possible she just wanted to avoid conflict with the rapper. Akbar V had nothing to do with Mena getting fired from Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, but the two celebs did get into several disagreements during their shared screen time. Rich Homie Quan is survived by his girlfriend, Amber Williams, and his four children. He shared his two youngest with Williams, who made the fateful 911 call after the rapper died.

Jada Pinkett Smith Goes Instagram Private After Urging Fans Not To “Bond In Fear”

Earlier this week, Jada Pinkett Smith sparked speculation with a cryptic Instagram post. “A man can CHOOSE to belong to someone,” the post began. “And if he does… he is considered noble. A woman is told she MUST belong to someone or … she is not worthy.” She also elaborated in her caption, emphasizing that women are worthy with or without a male counterpart.

“Even in some of our great religious traditions the goddess is rendered powerless without her male counterpart. And in others, the spiritual influence of the feminine, of Mother … is not even recognized,” she explained. “We mere mortal women are worthy simply because we exist!”

“And those of us who have cultivated our Queendom within our inner kingdom and have a deep relationship with the Great Supreme … If we so CHOOSE to bond with someone from this space … We will erect monumental love and give birth to treasures,” she continued. Jada finished her post with a message to her followers, urging them not to “bond in fear” and reminding them that they are “greatness.” Now, the actress’s Instagram account has been set to private, meaning only a select list of approved followers can view her posts.

At the time of writing, it remains unclear why she’s chosen to go private. With that being said, she’s made several revelations about her personal life in recent months, so fans can’t blame her for craving some privacy. Drake Trolls Ben Da Donn In Comment Section Of His Instagram Freestyle

Ben Da Donn and Drake have been cool for years. The comedian and the rapper have frequently crossed paths and made fun of each other in the process. The latest interaction between the duo is no different. Ben Da Donn decided to drop a freestyle on his Instagram. The caption made it clear that he was riffing on a trend of rappers hopping onto classic instrumentals. That said, Drake didn’t let him off the hook. He proceeded to clown Be Da Donn in the comment section for trying to generate attention.

The caption Ben Da Donn posted with his freestyle is important to note. “When rappers go do freestyles and ruin classic instrumentals,” he wrote. Harmless enough, right? Drake couldn’t help himself, though, and told Ben he was trying too hard. “Pick me a*s caption,” the rapper commented. “Oh when your raps are sooooooo bad over a classic hahah right ya’ll??? Right???? Comment below if I’m a*s ya’ll.” Drake’s comment received over 2K likes and remains the top comment on Ben Da Donn’s post. Still, there’s no issues between Drizzy and Ben Da Donn.

Drake Gave Ben Da Donn Grief For Being A ‘Pick Me’

If anything, Ben Da Donn has been one of Drake’s most vocal supporters in 2024. The comedian made fun of Rick Ross for dropping the Drake diss “Champagne Moments,” and behaving immaturely during their entire feud. “Imagine being 50sum tambout ‘AND THATS WHY I UNFOLLOWED YOU,” he jokingly wrote. Rick Ross didn’t take kindly to the comment, and proceeded to tell Ben Da Donn to wash the bottom of his yacht. Not the most clever response, but a response nonetheless.

A Drake Instagram comment isn’t super common, but we do know the rapper has been on Instagram. He’s continued to release new footage on his burner account. The most notable of which, was a studio session in which him and 40 talk about prepping a collab track with Kendrick Lamar. The collab never came to fruition, but its inclusion feels pointed on the part of Drake. Toronto’s very own might want to redirect focus to music, though. The rapper was recently accused of not clearing a sample for one of hist recent singles. He also had to omit Playboi Carti from the streaming version of “No Face.”

Dame Dash Challenges 50 Cent To “CEO War” Involving Their TV Networks

Dame Dash is a mogul. He’s never pitched himself as a rapper, as evidenced by the song “I Am Dame Dash” where he raps about not being able to rap. We digress. Dash is someone who flexes on ops with business. This is why he decided to challenge 50 Cent on the business front. The former Roc-A-Fella boss told 50 to put his money where his mouth is, with regards to his TV network. He went as far as to say that his network would outperform 50’s in direct competition.

You might be asking why. As with most feuds involving 50 Cent, 50 Cent started it. The rapper claimed that Dame Dash “has no money now” during an episode of the Million Dollarz Worth of Game podcast. Dash caught wind of this, and decided to clap back on Instagram. “Somebody definitely sent me that cute sh*t 50 said about me not having no money,” Dash confirmed. “I feel like now me and 50 should have a battle, and no gangster sh*t…. That would be whack and corny for the culture.” The alternative Dame Dash proposed was a “CEO War.”

Dame Dash Tried To Get 50 To Buy Roc-A-Fella Shares

Dash wants to see which hip hop businessman has their pulse on the culture. “He’s in the television network business now,” he asserted. “Let’s do CEO War… “I’m going to drop my network. And what I’m going to do is also drop a new original American movie.” Dash then urged 50 Cent to drop a movie on his network, so the two could directly compete. The businessman didn’t stop there. He used the opportunity to goad 50 into purchasing the 33% stake in Roc-A-Fella Records. Dame Dash has been ordered to sell off his share of the legendary label, but has been unable to find a buyer that suits his price range.

Dame Dash decided to try and kill two birds with one stone when it came to challenging 50 Cent. “Where you at? It’s still for sale,” Dash explained. “The starting price was 1.2. Now it’s 3 million. And if you got it like you say it, buy it. I challenge you.” Given how much trouble Dash has had selling off his 33%, we can’t blame him. That said, 50 Cent has enough going on to not have to worry about beef with Dame Dash.

Lil Wayne fans have been hoping for Tha Carter VI for several years now, something the rapper is well aware of. Recently, for example, he took to Instagram to joke about the long-awaited album with a playful clip. In it, he nods to the notion that he’s constantly in the studio but has still yet to deliver his most anticipated project.

So shoutout to those artists.” Weezy continued, joking that he’s gotten through quite a bit of material. “I’m working on [Tha] Carter VI, I just want you to know that,” he said. “I just haven’t finished… I’m lying — I’m working on Carter 26. I think you already know that.”
