Rapper Jadakiss is continuing his winning streak by adding generational wealth to his resume. Kiss Café, the new(ish) coffee brand co-founded by rapper Jason “Jadakiss” Phillips, his father Bob (a 40-year veteran) and son Jaewon (a rising artist who has worked alongside Bob the last several years).

The idea was created on the heels of Jason’s Verzuz battle. Shortly thereafter, the Phillips came together to create Kiss Café – three generations of Black legacy, loyalty and the love of coffee!

Rapper Jason Phillips, known to fans around the world as “Jadakiss” and one of three members of the The Lox, together with his father Bob Phillips and son Jaewon Phillips announced the official launch of Kiss Café – a new coffee line four decades in the making.

Kiss Café is a true labor of java love. More than a brand or a company, it represents three generations of heritage and history. Bob has been involved in the coffee industry since 1977 – a career that’s provided invaluable industry knowledge and understanding, relationships and resources – including growers, roasters, distributors and manufacturers. Since 1998, he’s served as president and CEO of Caturra Corp., a boutique importing and trading firm that specializes in international green coffees.

The Kiss Café branding and packaging was thoughtfully developed in partnership with longtime creative and friend to the family, Liza Goncalves. The logo features three, intertwined coffee beans representing each individual, as well as family, heritage and tradition. Each sleek and sophisticated package is designed to stimulate all five senses.

“Kiss Café is authentic,” said Jaewon. “It’s real. No gimmicks. It’s been in our family for well over 40 years and everything we do here is from the core.”

At launch, the company has released its ‘Beijo’ (kiss in Portuguese) product – a medium-dark roast Arabica blend sourced from Central America. Perfected over many years, the full-bodied coffee will come in whole bean or ground options.

Pharrell debuted as Creative Director of Louis Vuitton’s Menswear in a star-studded fashion show last week. Over the weekend, clothing designer Kellie Ford stated Skateboard P lifted one of her ideas for the new collection.

The Jasmine Brand notes Ford claims ownership of the Louis Vuitton shopping bag idea, citing an old video where she reconstructed an LV bag that was watched over 10 million times.

“Under Pharrell’s creative direction for Louis Vuitton they dropped what looks like is the bag,” Ford said in a video. “Yeah, its crazy.”

Pharrell on Debut Louis Vuitton Collection: ‘I Gotta Pinch Myself’

Pharrell’s debut collection with Louis Vuitton will be revealed today (June 20). Ahead of the launch, Pharrell spoke with WWD and revealed how honored he is for the moment.

“Every day, I gotta pinch myself because it’s an appointment, and I was chosen,” Williams said. “Pietro [Beccari] saw something, and I’m touched by that and I honor that every day.”

The collection was teased by Rihanna holding a multi-color bags during a coffee run.

Karl Kani Featured In NBC News Doc ’50 Years Fly: The Rise, Fall And Revolution of Hip Hop Fashion’

Karl Kani is the undisputed Godfather of streetwear who launched the first streetwear brand in fashion history! His style and influence are still felt today. Karl will be featured in the new NBC News digital documentary, 50 Years Fly: The Rise, Fall, and Revolution of Hip-Hop Fashion. Born and raised in the streets of Brooklyn, Karl’s creativity and originality were forged in the crucible of Hip-Hop and urban culture, where he quickly became a standout for his unique style. More than 30 years after he launched his eponymous clothing line, his designs have been consistent go-to’s from stars like Tupac and Wu-Tang Clan to Joey Bada$$ and Ariana Grande.

Karl also worked closely with Aaliyah before she passed away. On the cover of her 1994 debut album, Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number, she wore an iconic Karl Kani metal plate hoodie. The duo also collaborated on a custom racing jacket that Aaliyah donned on the cover of her sophomore LP, One In A Million. Regarding his relationship with the late R&B legend, Karl commented, “Working with Aaliyah was an iconic moment. She simply changed women’s fashion forever. Baggy bottom crop top: that’s the Aaliyah look. Before her, it didn’t exist.”

Designer Don C And Set Free Richardson Debut DraftKings Streetwear At Game 3 Watch Party

Last week, streetwear designer Don C and Set Free Richardson, teamed up to officially debut their collection at See/Know, SLAM’s official store in SOHO NYC. The capsule includes hoodies, tees, and a hat and celebrates basketball culture and the excitement of sports betting. 

The event featured fully dressed mannequins, giveaways, music, a watch party (Game 3 of The Finals) and special guests (including Shameik Moore, voice of Miles Morales in the Spider-Man Spider-Verse series). While the collection was not for sale, a limited number of pieces were available to the public through giveaway opportunities via the storefront and DraftKings social channels.
