Meek Mill Gets Clowned For Having No Hits But The Internet Defends Him

Meek Mill did not have the career a lot fans thought he would. He seem poised to be one of the biggest artists of his generation in the early 2010s. A lot of drama transpired on and off record to ensure it didn’t happen. Today, Meek Mill is a curiosity, too old to be relevant but too young to be get revisionist praise. It’s this awkward middle ground that led one podcaster to claim that the rapper had no real hits to his name. The take spread like wildfire online, and fans banded together to remind the podcaster that he does, in fact, had a solid catalog.

The podcast in question was The Need To Know show, and the host in question was Mandii B. She did concede that “Dreams and Nightmares” was an iconic song, but proceeded to rag on the rest of Meek’s catalog for being light on hits. “I don’t know anybody who could name five Meek [Mill] records,” Mandii B stated. The host also hesitated to admit that Meek was a legend in his native Philadelphia. She pointed to the fact that Hov appointed Meek Mill the “next JAY-Z,” and stated that he fell woefully short of these big expectations.

The internet was not on Mandii B’s side. Meek Mill may not have dropped hit songs recently, but the general consensus was that the rapper had plenty in his past. Fans gave detailed breakdowns of how popular Meek Mill was during the first half of the 2010s. “If you was in college or the streets from 2007-2015 Meek Mill was EVERYWHERE,” one impassioned user wrote. “Meek got 4 RIAA certified albums & 40 songs either Platinum or Gold. This is ridiculous.” Another user accused Mandii B of fishing for hot takes on purpose. “She out here trying to go viral for takes,” they tweeted.

Meek also saw the Need to Know clip, and responded. Now, those who have been following the rapper on Twitter know that he’s prone to saying nonsensical things. He spun a rant about firing his PR team into a discussion of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef. We’re still not sure how. But Meek Mill had a concise, solid response to Mandii B’s criticism. He posted a link to his beloved mixtape Dreamchasers 2. “How many hits on this mixtape you know,” he wrote. “Bot billboard classified hits I got those too lol but this 2011 vibes I’m kinda rap invincible …. The Mandela effect is real huh.” We have to say we agree with the Philly legend.

Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, Sean “Diddy” Combs, is fighting back against a $30 million civil lawsuit filed by former Bad Boy music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. This week, Diddy filed to dismiss the lawsuit, calling Jones’s allegations “blatant falsehoods.” However, Jones is standing by his claims, painting a grim picture of his experiences working with the music mogul.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Jones did not mince words when describing Combs, referring to him as a “monster” who would go to any lengths to get what he wants. “He doesn’t take no for an answer,” Jones told the magazine. “He [told me] himself, ‘I’ll smack my mama.’ Anybody who can say that even jokingly is a monster. “About 10 minutes later, Puff comes rolling in with Yung Miami and others following behind. Assistants were lighting candles, giving us cocktails,” Jones recalled. “He went in his bathroom attached to the studio and summoned me and DeForrest. He asked me if I had a $100 bill. There were three white lines on the sink. He was asking me to do something I’ve never done before. It was awkward. He was trying to get me to do some drugs. I don’t want to judge anybody, but that’s at the top of my list of things I’m afraid to do.”

According to Jones’s legal filing, this was just the tip of the iceberg. He claims to have witnessed several crimes while working closely with Combs, including an accusation that the mogul was involved in a shooting at a recording studio in 2022. Jones asserts that due to Combs’s powerful influence in the music industry, he has been forced into hiding and is unable to get any of his music picked up or distributed.

As the legal battle unfolds, the stark contrast between Jones’s allegations and Diddy’s public persona—as a businessman who rebranded himself under the “Love” moniker—continues to raise eyebrows. Diddy’s legal team has yet to comment further on the dismissal motion.

Hundreds of Dodgers fans were lined up at Dodgers Stadium as early as 11am this morning(August 28), but it wasn’t to get a good seat at today’s game.

The game against the Baltimore Orioles will definitely be one to see, with the O’s just one GB the Yanks in the AL East, but fans lined up in Dodgers Stadium’s Chavez Ravine for first grabs of Shohei Ohtani’s bobblehead. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PST, but baseball fans, ahem, Ohtani fans are making sure they don’t miss out on the future HOFer’s collectible.

The first 40K fans are promised one of the prized bobbles ,which features Ohtani and his dog Decoy. The bobbleheads come in the natural color and a gold plated version.

Back in May, the Dodgers released an Ohtani statuette and baseball memorabilia collectors were spending hundreds to buy the figurines on the secondary market. Some even spent thousands to purchase the limited edition versions.

West Philadelphia is home to several prominent figures in hip-hop but YBC Dul was among the most infamous to emerge from there. Born Abdul Vicks, his unapologetic approach to life and music garnered attention online and among law enforcement officials. Known for his brazen lyrics and audacious actions, including the infamous moment when he desecrated an opponent’s grave in a music video, YBC Dul’s life was tragically cut short on Friday, August 23rd after he was fatally shot in the Olney neighborhood, per ABC. His rise and fall offer a stark reflection of the violence that pervades the city’s streets. His brief but impactful career left a trail of controversy. And perhaps, it exposed the reality of the glorification of violence in music and the consequences that often follow.

A Life Of Infamy: The Rise Of YBC Dul

Abdul Vicks, better known as YBC Dul, emerged from the West Philly streets as a voice for the Young Bag Chasers (YBC), a rap collective who’ve been alleged to have deep ties to the city’s gang culture. In the aftermath of his death, Dul’s father shed light on the circumstances surrounding his son’s death. “I wanted to clear up any confusion my son Abdul Vicks was murdered yesterday afternoon broad daylight while sitting in the back of his car alongside with his friend who was also shot in the hand my son was not on a bike when he was killed nothing of that such so that video going around is not him stop the false news,” he wrote.

He added, “lk my son did not live a life of a saint but I was not born yesterday either my son was targeted in some set up plot that’s the only way they could get him from up close like that & I’m standing on that, for someone to be able to walk up so close to his car was the first red flag for sure & I promise we not gon stop till ya dudes are exposed I spoke to my son the night before this all went down & I just couldn’t understand why this talk outta all days felt different ‘pops it’s been weird cars passing by me for a week now idk I just feel weird whenever I’m in PhiIly’ … i swear whatever u was running from son they was watching u closely & imma expose it.”

YSL RICO Trial: Lil Woody Admits To Making Up Fake People To Snitch On

Lil Woody admitted to making up to people by the name of “Lil Mike” and “Quez” during the latest hearing in the YSL RICO trial. Speaking on the stand, he admitted that he used those two names in the past to get the police off his back. A clip of the moment is circulating on social media.

The man questioning Woody begins by explaining that two detectives on the case have never even heard of “Lil Mike” and “Quez.” He continues: “Mr. Copeland, Lil Mike is not a real person is he?” to which Woody admits, “No.” From there he adds: “You invented a person out of thin air correct?” which Woody also confirmed. “You invented those people to take the heat off of you and put it on fictional character,” he concludes.

Woody’s been making all kinds of headlines for his behavior on the stand in recent days. At one point, he attempted to get Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, to say the n-word as he read aloud a quote. In another instance, he admitted to lying to police about the rapper back in 2015. “The police kept locking me up for whatever they could,” he said. “Every time I counted the door, the police was on me, and they keep bringing up Thug’s name. So what I did was to get ’em out off me, I said, ‘Thug did this. Thug did that. Thug,’ because I knew they were—I knew he didn’t do it.”

R Kelly Shouldn’t Expect Privacy, Ex-Prison Employee Accused Of Leaking Info Argues

Last year, R Kelly hit Tasha K and various employees at a Chicago prison with a civil lawsuit, accusing them of working together to leak his personal information while he was behind bars. Allegedly, the correctional officers would send the information from internal devices to Tasha K, who would then publish it on her blog. He accused them of intentionally damaging his reputation and causing him emotional distress.

Tasha K denied these allegations immediately, insisting that she was not part of any scheme to leak his private information. Now, a former prison guard named in the lawsuit has responded. She’s also denying any wrongdoing, according to court documents obtained by In Touch.

Per the court docs, she says that she never obtained R Kelly’s confidential records to sell to Tasha K, but adds that he was “not in a place where” he should have expected privacy. She also argued that her actions were not “outrageous or intentional,” the outlet reports, and that she did not access work computers without or above her authorization. She also denies claims that R Kelly suffered emotional distress as a result of her actions. Her lawyer demands that all of the performer’s complaints against their client be dismissed, meaning that he’d be awarded nothing.

The employee in question retired shortly after the investigation concluded in 2019. Her remarks arrived shortly after it was revealed that the lawsuit was facing dismissal. Reportedly, the U.S. government argued earlier this month that they weren’t responsible for one prison employee’s actions.
