When Do Broccoli City Festival 2024 Tickets Go On Sale?

Broccoli City Festival is back in a big way in 2024, announcing a revamped, two-day lineup and promising to “reimagine” the festival experience at Washington, D.C.’s Audi Field this July 27-28.

In addition to headliners Megan Thee Stallion and Gunna, this year’s fest will feature Lil Yachty, PartyNextDoor, Kaytranada, Victoria Monet, Key Glock, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, Fridayy, Veeze, Amaarae, Jordan Ward, Skilla Baby, Baby Tate, Ryan Trey, and ChloTheGod, as well as “Live Experiences” like TrapSoul Karaoke with Bryson Tiller, Soulection, Coco Butter, and Everyday People parties, Test Your Game with Duke Dennis, and HoeDown with Tanner Adell (of “Buckle Bunny” fame).

Presale tickets for festival are already available using code EATGOOD24, and tickets can be purchased via Klarna layaway plans. General admission and VIP Tickets go on sale Friday, March 22, at 10 am ET. You can visit the festival’s official website for details and information.

2024 will be the festival’s first year at Audi Field. Co-founder Marcus Allen said of the move in a press release, “We’re reimagining the festival experience by moving to the state-of-the-art Audi Field in the Navy Yard community, featuring award-show-like live programming and interactive fan experiences. We’re setting a new standard, providing attendees an immersive blend of entertainment, technology, and fan engagement.”

Shaboozey’s Legend With Hip-Hop Fans Continues To Grow On “Vegas”

Beyonce has certainly been wowing hip-hop and country fans with recent singles “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and “16 CARRIAGES.” However, there is another artist we feel you should be paying attention to that may be doing it a bit better. Shaboozey, a native of Virginia and of Nigerian descent, has been blowing up over the past couple of months. However, the 28-year-old has been mixing elements of hip-hop and country since the mid 2010s. Today, we excited to cover our first Shaboozey track “Vegas.”

A song that has turned a lot of hip-hop fans heads as of late has been “Let It Burn.” The track released in October of 2023 and it sees Shaboozey bust out his rapping chops on the second half. What also makes the break-up song work so well is his standout deep and husky voice. Even in a high register, he shines as well.

“Vegas” incorporates some similar elements of that song, but this one is a little less explosive. However, that is not to say it is a bad song by any means. In fact, it is quite catchy, probably even more so than “Let It Burn.” Once again, you will here Shaboozey pick up the speed on his lone verse. This track definitely has the tone of an old western and it is another welcome addition into his catalog.

Latto & Yung Miami Party To Former’s Alleged Ice Spice Diss In The Club

There’s nothing quite like hearing a hit song blaring over the speakers and looking over to see the artist who made the song partying to it along with you. Moreover, that’s exactly what folks at a strip club witnessed when Latto came into the venue, accompanied by City Girls member Yung Miami. They threw stacks of cash and rapped along to the former’s 2024 hit “Sunday Service,” and many folks took particular note of Caresha being alongside the 777 artist. That’s because a lot of people see this track as a marker of loyalty, given that many fans think that it’s a pointed diss towards Ice Spice.

Furthermore, the “cold war” between her and Latto’s been a hot topic of conversation for some time now, with things really becoming a narrative this year. Their back-and-forth singles (which fans think included subliminals at each other), plus some apparent references in their promotion, led many to believe there’s animosity between them. Whether or not there actually are any issues with Ice Spice doesn’t matter, because that’s the marketing and public narrative that both the artists and the fans are running with right now. As such, this is a myth becoming reality in a pretty weird way.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that this feud between Latto and Ice Spice is legit, and not just the product of misogynistic PR wanting to pit femcees against each other. But Yung Miami’s inclusion in all this is curious, because if fans’ conspiracy theories are to be believed, then the Nicki Minaj affiliate through JT should in theory be a Spice supporter. But it goes to show that things are never that simple, and that no artist should be immediately prohibited from fraternizing with another based on petty competition or narratives. Also, the City Girl’s got other fish to fry in the beef section.

Meanwhile, it seems like the “Put It On Da Floor” lyricist is having a lot of fun as of late, as she also enjoyed a club outing with Rubi Rose. Maybe they’ll collab again in the future and we can add more weaving webs in this femcee beef universe. Or just, you know, focus on the competitive releases and the artistry itself. Detroit Teacher Fired Over Viral Music Video

A Detroit teacher who refers to herself as Ms. Brown and goes by the rap name, Drippin Honey, has been fired for her music career. Drippin Honey explained in a viral TikTok that a parent of one of her students wasn’t happy about her song “Drippin 101.”

“Recently, I was forced to leave my position due to me being a Rapper,” Drippin Honey wrote. “A single parent’s disapproval led to my dismissal. The parent wished to stay Anonymous after contacting my job for months, I’ve been dealing with this since I dropped ‘Drippin 101’ in October. 5 months later Meetings after meetings defending my involvement in the music industry I was asked to erase all my content that’s when I knew I HAVE TO BET ON MYSELF CUZ NOBODY WILL IF I DONT.”

Drippin Honey also explained that the music video for “Drippin 101” features her own students. One of them is even wearing Taylor Preparatory High School merchandise. Bianca Censori has spent months now being spotted out and about with Kanye West in increasingly racy outfits. Since last year, paparazzi photos have routinely caught her in public sporting a variety of revealing clothing. Whether or not it’s a deliberate attempt to shock people or not has been debated, but she’s continued to get increasingly revealing as the weeks go by. It’s harder to get any more revealing than an outfit she wore out over the weekend though.

The pair are in California, where just a few days ago Kanye took the stage at Rolling Loud for another Vultures listening party. The show was stacked with special guests and Censori herself was in attendance backstage. Later in the weekend photographers caught up with them in Burbank where she showed off her most revealing outfit yet. Censori donned a nearly completely see through black body suit that necessitated her using her phone to cover herself while photos were being taken. In a moment that got quite a bit of attention online, Censori hung out with West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian backstage at his Rolling Loud show. Drake’s “More Life” Turns 7: “Passionfruit” May Be Drizzy’s Strongest R&B/Dancehall Crossover

What makes Drake one of the most influential artists in hip-hop but also in general, is his willingness to try out different genres. While some have groaned and moaned over some of his attempts in the past, it has made him the superstar we know him to be. He was especially trying out different accents and soundscapes on his 2017 record More Life. It was cleverly labeled as a playlist, and it makes sense because of the various artistic directions across it. One song that is still thriving to this day is Drake’s dancehall and R&B fusion “Passionfruit.”

This low-key and vibey record was arguably the biggest song from More Life because of its widespread appeal. Its tropical and groovy melody are a perfect match for Drake as he sings about a long-distance relationship that is looking to be coming to an end. “Tension / Between us just like picket fences / You got issues that I won’t mention for now / ’Cause we’re fallin’ apart.” The lyrics, while simple, effectively communicate the heartbreak that Drizzy is going through on this cut.

Relisten To “Passionfruit” By Drake

Like we said, this song was massive and the stats back it up. It did not score Drake another number one hit, but it did have a more than respectable peak at number eight. Additionally, this track has helped keep the now seven-year-old album on the Billboard Hot 200 for 347 consecutive weeks. The playlist of course hit number one too. From what we can find, the song is three times platinum and has been streamed over 1.58 billion times on Spotify. That is good enough for his seventh most popular track on the platform. With all of this in consideration, we feel that this could be Drake’s strongest R&B/dancehall song in his catalog.

Dr. Dre Criticizes Snoop Dogg Over His Many Side Projects, He Reveals

Dr. Dre’s recent appearance on James Corden’s This Life of Mine… show on SiriusXM held a lot of curious and compelling bits of info, takes, and confessions. For one, it reignited the ever-enduring and always annoying debate of whether Eminem can be considered the best rapper of all time. TL;DR: yes, and if you disagree, that’s equally valid. Move on. Anyways, the N.W.A. producer also revealed a very interesting and quite surprising aspect of his relationship with one of his closes industry peers: Snoop Dogg. The two go way back, yet when it comes to the Long Beach MC’s many business ventures, the mogul Dre steps in to question him.

“I personally think he does too much s**t and we’ve been battling and bumping heads about [it],” Dr. Dre explained to Corden. “Hell yeah I tell him that. I’m always in my big brother mode. I always tell him like, ‘Why the f**k are you doing this and that? Come on.’ He’s like, ‘Let me live, Dr. Dre, cuz. Let me do my thing, man. Do I bother you about the s**t you doing, cuz?’ So we have our -– I call it sibling rivalries and s**t like that -– but I would love it if he’d just focus on this thing and make sure this thing right here that we’re working on is the best that it can be.“

Elsewhere in the interview, Dr. Dre also spoke on having a brain aneurysm back in 2021. “It definitely makes you appreciate being alive, that’s for sure,” he recalled. “It’s something you can’t control, it just happens. During those two weeks, I had three strokes. I got up and went about my day, and I thought I could lay down and take a nap. My son and a female friend were like, ‘No, we need to take you to the hospital.’ Next thing you know, I’m blacking out, I’m in and out of consciousness and I end up in the ICU.

“I was there for two weeks,” the Aftermath boss went on. “I’m hearing doctors come in [and saying] ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.’ I asked questions about what I could’ve done to prevent this. No one could give me an answer.” Fortunately, Dr. Dre overcame this moment of his life, and now he and Snoop Dogg can go on to do more great things. Tonesa Welch Admits She’s “Not Happy” About “BMF” Portrayal

Tonesa Welch says she’s not happy about the portrayal of her on the show, BMF. Speaking with The Neighborhood Talk at the NAACP Image Awards over the weekend, she explained her issues with the character that La La Anthony presented on screen. She was at the ceremony to promote the new BET+ film, First Lady of BMF.

“I’m not happy about it,” she explained. “They’re everywhere with their story. I don’t know who I am in that story. Every Friday I gotta get anxiety cause I don’t know what I’m doing next. Am I dating a teenager? Is he buying me a home? Is his baby mama beating me up? I don’t know what to expect.”

It’s not the first time she’s criticized BMF. Back in February, she accused the show of having the character she inspired look like a pedophile. “WTF who wrote this part of the Story,” Welch said. “Terri 17 I’m 26 years my Husband a king pen but I’m having sex with a 17 year old who’s supposedly still in high school. So before Terri goes on the run he comes to my job, its close for the day we sneak in the janitors room and have Sex. I guess he’s to young to have an apartment he’s still in high school or lives with his parents. I guess they have Markisha looking like a pedophile. If This was reverse and Markisha was 17 years old y’all be trying to put him in jail.”
