It’s been a long time since Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9″, and KXNG Crooked  — who were once famously united as Slaughterhouse — rapped on the same track. In fact, many have been clamoring for a full-scale Slaughterhouse reunion for years now, especially given that the group’s long-lost studio album remains tucked away in the Shady Records vault.

Though years have passed since the group’s disbandment, hope has yet to fade, and for good reason. Every so often, a member will throw out a little teaser of sorts, which in turn takes shape into something far bigger. For what it’s worth, Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked appear open to the idea, with the former having recently suggested a full-scale return to the booth. KXNG Crooked also opened the door with an open invite to his former group-mates, imploring them to reach out over the weekend.

Evidently, Joell and Crook’s suggestions may have been exactly what the doctor ordered.  Crook confirmed that a Slaughterhouse phone call, albeit a fragmented one, did take place over the weekend. Though he didn’t discuss specifics, he did take a moment to update fans about how it all went down.

“Joell called me first, me and him chopped it up,” says Crook, while The Firm’s Dre-produced “Phone Tap” bumps in the background. “Then apparently Royce called Joe, they chopped it up. Joe called Joell, him and Joell chopped it up. Then Joell called me back. So that’s what happened. It’s Monday. I gave them until the weekend to make something happen. Did they do it? I’m kinda scratching my head like what does this mean?” He laughs. “Ya’ll tell me.”

DaBaby has been in the news for all of the wrong reasons this past week after making some bizarre and homophobic comments prior to his performance at Rolling Loud. The artist has been receiving criticism from all sides over the last few days and while there are still some fans who support him, DaBaby has been getting some obvious negative publicity. At times, DaBaby has even made the situation worse by doubling down on social media, all while refusing to apologize.

As a result of DaBaby’s comments, he has been taken off various festival lineups, including Governor’s Ball New York, Lollapalooza, and even Day N Vegas. These are some pretty significant ramifications, and now, DaBaby is taking responsibility with a lengthy apology on Instagram.

“Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes,” DaBaby wrote. “As a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publically working against me— knowing that what I needed was education on these topics and guidance— has been challenging. I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. That’s what I needed and it was received. I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless.”

DaBaby’s apology certainly reads as sincere although it will be his future actions that determine whether or not he has truly changed. Either way, it’s good to see the artist taking responsibility for his actions, all while apologizing for any damage he may have caused to the communities involved.

As for the upcoming festivals he has been barred from, it remains uncertain as to whether or not he will be reinstated in light of his new apology.

Ice-T and Coco Austin welcomed their daughter, Chanel Nicole, back in 2015. The now five-year-old is growing to look just like her dad, much to the amusement of fans. Both Ice and Coco frequently share fun family photos on their social media pages to update Ice Loves Coco fans on how their baby girl is doing, quite frequently.

Back in 2019, Coco shared a vulnerable image of Chanel breastfeeding to her Instagram, with the caption: “Nap time and night time are our time and I’m lucky she hasn’t grown out it yet because when that moment comes I will be so sad..its the best feeling and ALL mothers that nurse know.” The share quickly garnered a negative reaction from followers, who disagreed with breastfeeding Chanel at that age. Despite the backlash at the time, it’s clear Coco still feels the same she did when she originally wrote that caption, two years ago.

During a recent exclusive with US Weekly, the 42-year-old reported she still breastfeeds her kindergartener, citing that she is not going to take that option away until her child is ready. She told Us Weekly, “Chanel still likes my boobs, it’s a big bonding moment for a mother and your child.”

Most mothers stop breastfeeding around their child’s first birthday and begin to transition to a full food diet, leaving the milk behind. Coco claims Chanel loves meat, including “steak and hamburgers” but “likes a little snack every now and then.” Coco continued, “Why take that away from her? … If she doesn’t want it, all right, that’s where you stop it. But I’m not just going to say no.”

Chanel also runs the show when it comes to bedtime, sleeping in the bed with her, Ice and the family’s four dogs.

While this most recent revelation is bound to ruffle more feathers, Coco thanked the fellow moms who agree with her approach, “Thank you to all that understand my view. I see most of you are so eager to side with me and I too root for you in your journey as well. Us moms are connected.”

Steph Curry is easily the most important player in the history of the Golden State Warriors franchise. He is one of the best shooters of all time and when all is said and done, he will be a first-ballot Hall Of Fame player who has at least three NBA titles to his name. Unfortunately for Curry and the Warriors, the team has been dealing with some bad luck over the last couple of years thanks to injuries and the exodus of Kevin Durant.

Regardless, Curry has remained optimistic about his future in San Francisco and heading into this year, the team is confident that it can regroup and come back with a season that would potentially lead to a deep playoff run.

After this season, Steph Curry would become a free agent, and this prospect has left many Warriors fans worried. Of course, these worries were overblown as Curry is simply too beloved in Golden State to ever want to leave. In fact, today it was revealed by Marc Stein that Curry and the Warriors will sign off on a four-year, $215 million deal extension that will take Curry to the late stages of his career. Needless to say, it’s a safe bet that Curry will be a Warrior for life.

2021 marks another landmark year for Missy Elliott. This year, the Supa Dupa Fly artist has celebrated both her 50th birthday and the 20th anniversary of her third studio album Miss E… So Addictive, and as a result, fans and artists alike have been going out of their way to give the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame inductee her flowers.

Recently a fan account on Twitter participated in the ongoing #MissyMilestones tribute trend and shared a mashup video that featured Lil Wayne acknowledging the influence that Missy Elliott had on him during his early days as an artist. Weezy specifically mentions her animated adlibs, and the video goes on to show a barrage of videos featuring Missy’s most iconic sound effects.

The femcee caught wind of the tweet and decided to share some new insights into the backlash that she originally received for those same adlibs, revealing that people in the music industry used to bring her to tears by clowning her unique style.

“When i 1st came in the game people laughed at me doing sound effects in my music,” Missy Elliot explained. “I used to cry when they clowned me but then I kept doing wild sounds/crazy adlibs in my songs & people began to rock wit it…Years later those same sound effects are big in songs today.”

A Black Lady Sketch Show comedian Robin Thede was completely caught off guard that Missy Elliot had to endure such treatment from industry insiders. “Reading the [goat emoji] say ‘I used to cry when they clowned me’ is wild,” Thede exclaimed. “You’re such a genius!”

Missy Elliot then replied to Thede’s praise by saying, “I used to cry at the drop of a dime. I will say the Industry will TOUGHEN you up tho! I was DIFFERENT…which some may have deemed my sound & style as weird…But I remained TRUE to myself as a artist & Thankfully people gave my FUTURISTIC vibe a chance.”
