Lil Baby Appeared On Vince Staples’ ‘East Point Prayer’ For Free Despite His Previous Feature Demands

Lil Baby boasted that he isn’t doing features for less than six figures, but it looks like he’ll make some exceptions. Despite tweeting in 2020 “it’s safe to say I want $100k for a feature,” he recently gave the homie discount to one rapper who came looking for a verse. According to Vince Staples, who popped up on LA radio host Big Boy’s show to discuss his new album, Lil Baby gave him a big break on his feature fee to appear on “East Point Prayer.”

“He did it for free,” he said. “And I don’t believe in asking nobody to do nothing for free. I believe in whatever you charge – you gotta feed your family, and he did it for free. And you already know, he can charge whatever he wants. It’s funny because I met him at a Motown thing. We was cool and we ain’t really talk like that. And I was like, ‘Lil Baby would sound good on this.’ And I was tryna get it so where we could talk about it. He said, ‘We don’t even have to talk, I’ma do it.’ He just went and did it … he looked out.”

Both artists are signed to Motown — Vince through Blacksmith Records and his manager Corey Smyth, and Lil Baby through Quality Control Music. Still, that Lil Baby would waive his exorbitant feature price for Vince shows a lot of respect between the two rappers — and the potential for future, possibly more lucrative collaborations.

Kyrie Irving Mocks Celtics Fans In Latest Twitch Rant

Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the entire world, however, he has been made privy to a ton of slander from fans. Boston Celtics fans seem to hate Kyrie, especially in relation to the way Kyrie left the team high and dry for the Nets. Things have not gone well for Kyrie since this time, and the Celtics fanbase will not let him forget it.

In fact, Kyrie was playing some Grand Theft Auto the other night on Twitch, when his chat was dominated by a plethora of Celtics fans who just wanted to slander him. Kyrie got so annoyed with the fans that he ended up going on a lengthy rant in which he mocked Celtics supporters for being incredibly annoying towards him.

“‘Oh Kyrie, what are you doing at home?’” Irving said. “That’s how y’all sound to me. ‘Ooh, you’re going home, you going to Cancun? You at home? Ooh Kyrie, you suck.’ “‘What are you doing? Oh my god, go back to Cleveland,’” Irving continued derisively. “‘Oh my god, Boston hates you, oh my god.’ That’s how y’all sound to me. Cockroaches. That’s how y’all sound to me.

Kyrie had a rough playoff outing with the Nets, and it is certainly contributing to all of this slander. Having said that, there is no doubt that Kyrie has time to bounce back especially since Ben Simmons is set to come back next year.

DL Hughley Calls Out Young Thug & Gunna After YSL Indictment

DL Hughley called out Young Thug and Gunna on Twitter for their choice of rap alias after the two artists and 28 other members of YSL were named in a 56-count indictment, earlier this week.

“People seem to forget, the power of life and death is in the tongue!” Hughley wrote in his post. “If you call yourself #Thug and #Gunna what you probably gonna do is go to jail! #TeamDl.”

It isn’t the first time that Hugley has joked about rappers’ names. Back in March, he called out Theophilus London for “videobombing” him, labeling him “Theodore Huxtable.”

As for Thug and Gunn, Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis has confirmed that their music careers will factor into the prosecution’s case, citing lyrics from several of their songs.

“It’s one of our most precious rights,” she explained. “However, the First Amendment does not protect people from prosecutors using it as evidence if it is such.”

Among the songs that are being used by the prosecution are 2016’s “Slime Shit,” on which Thug is accused of rapping, “I’m in the VIP and got that pistol on my hip, you prayin that you live I’m prayin that hit, hey, this that slime shit.”

Thug has been charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and participation in criminal street gang activity, while Gunna has been charged with one count of conspiring to violate RICO.

Nike Accuses StockX Of Selling Fake Shoes In New Lawsuit

Nike is one of the biggest sneaker brands in the entire world, and they take their intellectual property very seriously. For instance, Nike is currently in the midst of suing StockX for allegedly “freeriding” on their brand. Essentially, Nike believes that StockX’s Vault NFT service is using the Nike brand in a way that is only generating profits in one direction. Nike is not happy about this, and now, they have even more ammunition for their lawsuit.

According to Bloomberg, over the span of a few months, Nike purchased sneakers from StockX and received four counterfeit models. They say these models even had StockX’s signature authenticity hangtag. As a result, Nike wants to make counterfeiting and false advertising a part of their lawsuit.

“Those four pairs of counterfeit shoes were all purchased within a short two-month period on StockX’s platform, all had affixed to them StockX’s ‘Verified Authentic’ hangtag, and all came with a paper receipt from StockX in the shoe box stating that the condition of the shoes is ‘100% Authentic,’” Nike claims in their suit.

StockX has since commented on this development, stating that numerous Nike employees and executives are using their services to buy and sell shoes. Needless to say, StockX believes Nike needs to take a long look at itself, first.

Theory For Kendrick Lamar’s “Oklama” Meaning Ties Phrase To Choctaw Language

A new theory is circulating regarding the meaning of Kendrick Lamar’s new phrase, “oklama,” which has been used as the title to his website and his alias on several statements. Originating from an episode of Spotify’s Dissect podcast on Tuesday, the theory suggests that the name comes from Chahta Anumpa, the language of the Choctaw indigenous people.

Dissect host Carl Cuchna explained on the show: “Okla, which you may recognize from Oklahoma, means ‘people’ in Choctaw. The Choctaw definition for ‘ma’ is a marker used when addressing someone, like ‘my lord.’ So oklama translates to ‘my people.’ Within the Choctaw translations of the Bible, the phrase oklama is often used when a poet or prophet is addressing God’s people on God’s behalf.”

He continued: “oklama meaning ‘my people’ seems to fit exactly into the messaging of ‘The Heart Part 5,’ which begins with a quote from oklama, ‘I am. All of us.’ Kendrick even specifically says ‘my people’ just before he begins rapping.”

Dissect co-writer Femi Olutade also cites Lamar’s 2011 collaboration with Jay Rock, “My People.”

Lamar signed off on the announcement of his upcoming album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers using the oklama name in August 2021. The project is scheduled to release this Friday, May 13.

The legendary rapper shared his first single as a lead artist since 2018 on Sunday night with “The Heart Part 5.” It’s unclear whether the song will be included on the new album. In the music video for the track, Lamar uses deep fake technology to morph his face into that of Kanye West, Kobe Bryant, and more.

Stephen A. Smith Rips Sixers & Doc Rivers After Embarrassing Loss

Last night, the Philadelphia 76ers were destroyed by the Miami Heat. James Harden and Joel Embiid were not effective, all while Doc Rivers sort of rolled over and just allowed the Heat to win with minimal adjustments made on either end of the floor. It was a pretty embarrassing night all around for the team, and it elicited a pretty passionate response from none other than Stephen A. Smith.

“This is one of the most awful performances I’ve seen the @sixers put forth in a long time,” Smith said. “No effort whatsoever, from start to finished. Look like they just laid down, rolled over and said “we’ve got Game 6 on Thursday.” Guess they were looking for another overnight stay in Miami.”

This morning on First Take, Smith continued his passionate words against the Sixers as he went after the likes of Coach Rivers. In Smith’s eyes, if the Sixers lose in Game 6, then the head coach can pretty well kiss his job, goodbye.

“They played so bad that if they lose Game 6 … we both know who’s the first person that’s going to suffer. It’s probably going to be Doc Rivers,” Smith said.

Rivers’ job has been a hot topic of debate throughout the season and there is no doubt that some fans want him gone. Having said that, the Sixers could easily come back and win this series, so Rivers talk will have to be suspended until further notice.
