Lil Durk Is Convinced Someone Is ‘Monitoring Me’ In His Paranoid New Video

Lil Durk has begun the rollout for his upcoming project, Love Songs 4 The Streets 3, in earnest with the video for “Monitoring Me.” In typical Durkio fashion, the Windy City rapper taunts his enemies for their lack of bonafides, while touting the work that his own crew has put in on the streets of Chicago. As he once promised, though, he keeps the details on the low, convinced that there’s a possibility that, well, someone is listening.

Durk’s a year removed from his introspective and motivational Almost Healed, on which he boasts the benefits of going to therapy and getting clean. However, when it comes to giving the fans what they want, he has no qualms about going back to the “Old Days” and reminding listeners that he really comes from some dark circumstances — and somehow, he makes those harrowing tales just as entertaining as they are tragic.

While he hasn’t put out a wealth of new music since Almost Healed, Durk has made himself visible in the run-up to the release of Love Songs 4 The Streets 3, appearing on “Ghetto” from Mustard’s new album along with Young Thug, as well as tag-teaming with fellow Chicago rapper Polo G on “We Uh Shoot.”

Lil Durk Gives Fans An Epic Trap Banger With “Monitoring Me” Single

Lil Durk has been moving differently as of late. He’s already one of the biggest rappers in the world, but the rollout for his new album suggests that he’s getting even better. “Turn Up a Notch” was a sweltering leadoff single, with the rapper’s customary style in tow. We got a tracklist that suggests he’s branching out to different genres. He’s got collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Morgan Wallen planned, for example. Some fans might’ve been worried that he would go too mainstream, which is what makes the release of “Monitoring Me” such a brilliant chess move.

“Monitoring Me” is one of Lil Durk’s hardest songs to date. The rapper sounds merciless in a song that packs an album worth of ferocity in two and a half minutes. Lil Durk has always showcased intensity on the mic. This new single, however, gives him an instrumental that amplifies his vocal timbre. The beat is simple in the best possible way. Tinkling keys underpin Lil Durk’s verses, while the chorus is interspersed with ominous piano stabs. The song manages the rare feat of being instantly catchy but decidedly gritty. Durk is so good at making trap anthems that he doesn’t even need to worry about putting a commercial spin on it. “Monitoring Me” is that good.

Ferg Enlists Future And Mike WiLL Made-It For New Banger “Allure”

“Allure” feels like it came out of a time machine. It takes three artists, each of whom were vital artists in the mid-2010s, and returns them to the sound that made them so vital to begin with. Ferg has stumbled here and there with solo material over the last decade. Some of his experiments have failed, others have been underrated. “Allure,” though is the rapper at his absolute best. He sounds hungry, he sounds eager to bring out the best in his collaborators. Most importantly, though, he sounds fun. Ferg has always had charisma to spare, and his verse on “Allure” proves that it’s still present.

The time machine aspect of the song, though, is equally credited to Future and Mike WiLL Made-It. The latter has been keeping a low profile after his legendary 2010s run, and this beat proves that he hasn’t lost a step. It’s menacing and catchy, especially with the way he layers Ferg’s ad-libs. The “om” chant that underpins Future’s verse is another immeasurable detail that gives “Allure” character. Future has really been in his mixtape Pluto bag as of late, as evidenced by the album Mixtape Pluto. He continues rapping like he did during his iconic 2010s run, and surprise surprise, it sounds amazing. “Allure” is a winner.

Ferg And Future Reunite For Late-Night Studio Mayhem On ‘Allure’

Back in 2016, Harlem rapper Ferg (then known as ASAP Ferg) and Atlanta rapper Future hooked up to create an absolute monster — no pun intended. Their collaboration “New Level” absolutely flattened the hip-hop club scene, and still goes up at the function to this day.

Today, they reunited for another spirited collaboration, “Allure,” which attempts to recapture the chemistry that had every car in every hood blasting “New Level” at all hours of the day or night. They come pretty close, with a Mike Will Made-It-produced beat custom-built to knock the subs out of your speakers.

The song’s accompanied by a visualizer of the recording process, which took place in an unconventional studio setting. Ferg and Future dance under the mood lighting and mug the camera as their engineer makes the necessary tweaks to ensure maximum impact of those Mike Will 808s.

“Allure” is set to appear on Ferg’s upcoming album, Darold — yes, Ferg’s real name is Darold Ferguson Jr. In preparation of the rollout, Ferg has made his presence known a bit more lately, collaborating with both frequent rap partners like Denzel Curry and hip-hop neophytes like the NBA’s Jaylen Brown. Stay tuned for more from Ferg, including a release date for his upcoming album.

Lil Yachty, Swae Lee And Pharrell Get Surreal On “Doodleverse” Single

When you click on this song, via YouTube or streaming, you’ll see the name Doodles. Don’t get confused. Doodles is the name of the new duo formed by Lil Yachty and Swae Lee. It’s an odd name, but it actually sums up the bouncy, happy-go-lucky tone of their music together. “Doodleverse” is the first Doodles single. And it features a guest appearance/production from Pharrell Williams. That is a lot of star power to have on one song. That’s decades of hits in various styles, so it was hard to predict what this would sound like.

“Doodleverse” sounds like a hallucinatory dream in an Adult Swim show. It sounds both surreal and silly, especially with Lil Yachty taking center stage on the chorus. Getting him to sing about “Doodleverse,” where all the Doodles live magically, is going to be a non-starter for some. We get it. If you’re able to get over the Lil Yachty hurdle, though, you’ll find that “Doodleverse” is a pretty fun song. Pharrell’s production is bouncy and perfectly suited to the title. He probably comes in third in terms of vocal contributions, but that’s only because Swae Lee steals the show. The former Rae Sremmurd rapper is able to float effortlessly over the beat, giving the song some much needed shape.

Joe Budden Celebrates The Rumored Cancelation Of Lil Yachty’s Podcast

Lil Yachty has seemingly gone from one drama to the next in 2024. The rapper formerly known for his fun-loving attitude and friendship with Drake has become a headline grabber. First, there was the whole situation in which he announced he won’t be doing interviews anymore because of the way the internet reacted to his comments. Then, there was the Karrahbooo situation (read more about it here). Now, it’s Lil Yachty’s podcast, A Safe Place. And Joe Budden is loving all of it.

Lil Yachty has been co-hosting A Safe Place Podcast since June 2023. There have been several notable rappers who have appeared, but it appears as though the pod’s days are numbered. Yachty’s consistent co-host, MitchGoneMad, tweeted out that he’s going to be needing a new job. “Currently practicing my putting the fries in the bag technique will update you soon,” he wrote. When asked when a new episode is coming out, he responded: “Ngl i think bro rolling up that podcast in a backwood as we speak.” Joe Budden has been watching all of this unfold, and he decided to celebrate the news on his podcast.

Joe Budden Played ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ On His Pod

Budden and the rest of his team read Mitch’s tweets, then decided to flex their podcasting muscle. They threw on the Queen song “Another One Bites the Dust,” as a means of celebrating the end of the Lil Yachty podcast experiment. “I know what he said,” Joe Budden noted in regard to Mitch’s tweets. “Hell is about to break loose!” Anybody who has a working knowledge of Budden and Lil Yachty know that there is no love lost between them. If anything, they have disliking each other from afar for nearly a decade.

Joe Budden went nuclear on Lil Yachty during a 2017 episode of Everyday Struggle. He got seethingly angry over the notion that Boat was young and just wanted to have fun. Memes ensued, and it remains one of the most iconic pieces of hip hop media in the 2010s. The tension hasn’t died down, though. Lil Yachty claimed that he would “smoke” Budden if they were to rap on a song together during Budden’s appearance on, you guessed it, A Safe Place Podcast. “If you give me one of them Metroid beats,” the podcaster joked. “Then you will have the better verse.” Well, guess Joe got the last laugh.

Denzel Curry And Maxo Kream ‘Set It’ Off In Their Glitchy, Trippy New Video

Denzel Curry continues to promote his new album, King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2, with a glitchy, trippy video for the menacing “Set It Off” with Maxo Kream. The track is reflective of the Memphis goth-trap that defines the album, which can be seen on “Hot Ones” with TiaCorine and Ferg and “Hoodlumz” with ASAP Rocky.

The video evokes the blurry, black-and-white footage of a security camera, while also adding visual effects that mirror the results of a pharmaceutical trip. In his verse, Zel boasts, “My reign of terror is not for the weatherman,” while Maxo just straight up cuts to the point: “Play with Maxo, chopper shoot his baby mama.”

Diddy Tells Partygoers To Get “Lotioned Up” In Rediscovered Clip: Watch

Diddy is currently awaiting trial, and rumors about the mogul have continued to surface. Several industry insiders have come forward with allegations against the Bad Boy founder. There’s been no way to prove these allegations, of course, which is why Diddy is awaiting trial on multiple charges. There is, however, footage of the mogul that has been perceived differently in light of his charges. The internet has dug up clips of Diddy talking about his wild his parties get. TMZ recently uncovered one in which the mogul told the attendees of a party to get “lotioned up.”

TMZ reports that the party took place at Diddy’s home in June 2022. It’s believed to be the night after he received the prestigious BET Lifetime Achievement Award, and it appears as though he’s still celebrating. Diddy grabs a microphone in the clip and asserts that the party is about go up a notch. “Ayo, everybody make sure your breath is fresh,” he told the partygoers. “Make sure you’re lotioned up.” The mogul then urges those smoking weed to use mouthwash. He makes one announcement, which is that the women should hit the dance floor regardless of what their dates want. The music kicks in, and the clip ends.

The Footage Took Place At Diddy’s Home In 2022

Context can shift a whole lot. Those in attendance don’t seem bothered by Diddy’s announcements. In truth, several of the comments under the TMZ upload on YouTube point out that his comments were not especially incriminating. The reason the outlet picked it up, though, is the context of what has Diddy has been accused of. A celebrity photographer recently spoke to the New York Post about the parties they attended. The photographer, Selma Fonseca, claimed to have attended between 20-30 parties dating back to the 1990s.

Fonseca claimed that Diddy parties were always lavish affairs, with the best food and guests. She did recall one instance in which her camera was confiscated after she took a photo of Diddy and a girl she had never seen before. Despite this intense interaction, Fonseca claims that she never saw anything along the lines of what Diddy is being charged with. “I was surprised at the same time because I’ve never seen anything,” Fonseca asserted. “I’ve been around this guy so many times… I used to see him probably once a month or more.” Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
