Rae Sremmurd is planning to drop their fourth studio album, SREMM4LIFE, and the first single from the album will be “Denial.”

The duo made up of Slim Jxmmi, and Swae Lee took it to social media to make the announcement. They released the news with a music video preview and a pre-save link for “Denial.”

From its looks, the group is on some island vibes with “Denial.” Swae Lee is singing soothing high notes, while Slim Jxmmi provides the energy to the track, and the duo is back.

The last time was 2018’s SR3MM. That album, which featured Juicy J, Travis Scott, Future, Pharrell, Young Thug, The Weeknd, and Zoë Kravitz, debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. SR3MM sold around 57,000 total album-equivalent units.

It’s safe to say the excitement of the return of Rae Sremmurd is real. The group tweeted out the artwork for their forthcoming SREMM4LIFE album. They followed with tweets that confirmed that music was on the way.

Benny The Butcher Addresses Buffalo Massacre With “Welcome To The States” Music Video

Benny the Butcher Has Words for Fans Who Are Worried About Him Signing to Def Jam

The last month has been riddled with tragedy as mass shootings almost every week have led to increased conversations regarding gun laws, racism, and safety in the United States. Last month, a gunman opened fire in a Buffalo, NY grocery store parking lot, targeted, and killed 10 Black people. On Monday, June 6, Buffalo native, Benny the Butcher, dropped a remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “We Cry Together,” entitled “Welcome To The States.”

In the black and white music video, Benny addresses the Buffalo massacre with clips of people shopping at grocery stores, the American flag, KKK members, and police brutality before ending with an audio clip of Joe Biden’s address following the massacre.

“Through June 1st there have been at least 233 mass shooting incidents in 2022 in the United States,” the opening reads. “This means that the U.S. has recorded more mass shootings than there have been days in 2022, so far…”

“One of those shootings occurred in Buffalo, New York on May 14th, at a Top’s Friendly Market Store in Buffalo’s Eastside neighborhood. Ten people were killed that day. All 10 were African American.”

In the track, Benny raps “Mass shooting in my city, eight minutes from where my block at. Saw innocent people shot at a supermarket I shop at,” he raps, before ending the song with an audio clip from President Joe Biden’s speech addressing the shooting.”

Along with the video, Benny announced that he is helping raise money for the Buffalo Survivors Fund. Benny teamed up with designers Kat & Nolan Cartwright for a limited-run t-shirt that honors the ten victims. You can purchase the t-shirt now via the Black Soprano Family website for $40. All proceeds will go directly to the fund.

Wack 100 Bashes Future’s Music, Says It’s “Dreary” and “One Dimensional”

m

Wack 100 is known for his mostly unpopular takes on music and hip-hop culture. He has been called out by many artists and figures in the industry for his controversial takes. A clip of one of Wack’s recent Clubhouse conversations made its way on Instagram. In the convo, Wack talks about Future, and calls his music “one dimensional” and “dreary.”

The audio begins with Wack speaking on Southside and his supposed beef with Diddy, who has been rumored to be seeing Yung Miami – the mother of his child. Somehow the conversation turns to Future, and thats when Wack gave his critique on the Atlanta hip hop star.

“Why you saying I’m hating on Future? I’m just telling you his music is dreary and same, one-dimensional. I can’t listen or watch that n*gga on no stage for a hour, bro.”

He continued, saying “That’s not hate, bro. I don’t think—you gotta understand. I don’t get high. Maybe you gotta be high… We talking about headlining, n*ggas coming behind Busta Rhymes, Future definitely cannot come behind Busta Rhymes’s performance. It’s like from one extreme to the next. Like, Busta gonna have a seizure and aneurism and a heart attack on stage. This n*gga comes up same sh*t.”

“This n*gga Future, bro, his sh*t is just one pocket and that’s just what it is. N*gga, even on the Drake tour they didn’t let Future do a full set. Drake came out for forty-five [minutes]. Future came out for twenty-five [minutes], and then Drake came back out!” Wack added, “I’m telling you. I started nodding out [during Future’s set]!”

You can listen to his rant below. Do you agree with Wack?

Among those in attendance were members from the families of the 10 victims of May 14ths mass shooting. They were personally invited by Chappelle.

Payton Gendron, the 18-year-old white supremacist, is currently facing 10 counts of first-degree murder, 10 counts of second-degree murder as a hate crime, 3 counts of attempted murder as a hate crime, one for domestic terrorism motivated by hate, and a weapons charge for the murder of 10 Black people in the parking lot of a Tops grocery store in Buffalo.

After the mass shooting, authorities found Gendron’s diary where he wrote about wanting to livestream an attack on Black people. The entries in the journal also read that Gendron targeted that specific grocery store because many Black people shopped there.

Mariah Carey Sued for $20M for Allegedly Stealing “All I Want for Christmas is You”

MariahCarey's"AllIWantforChristmasisYou"FinallyReachesBillboardHotTop

Every Christmas, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” single from 1994 shoots up the charts and claims the No. 1 spot. Today, about half a year before the single’s annual run up the Hot 100, Carey is named in a lawsuit for copyright infringement.

According to Yahoo!, musician Andy Stone, who performs as Vince Vance as a member of Vince Vance & The Valiants, filed the lawsuit in New Orleans this past Friday. According to Stone, Carey has violated copyright infringement and misappropriation. Named alongside Carey is the co-writer Walter Afanasieff and Sony Music Entertainment.

The lawsuit states Carey’s single exploited the “style” and “popularity” of Stone’s single, which he states had massive success during the 1993 holiday season.

Stone’s single does not have the same medley or lyrics as Carey’s, which was released five years later, but he believes the titles cause confusion and she did not ask him for permission.

Stone attempted to settle with the defending parties in April 2021 but did not come to an agreement.

Travis Scott Hints at the Return of Cacti Seltzer

Travis Scott

Travis Scott is slowly routing us back to Utopia, if you haven’t noticed. It’s true. He needed to detour fans to a safer route because of the tragic accident at his 2021 Astroworld Festival.

After the catastrophe, the Hip-Hop poster child for having fun lost everything. Travis got dropped from nearly every endorsement he had, including Nike, in which he’s just returned with new shoes and his Anheuser-Busch brewed Cacti Seltzer drink.

Fortunately for the “Franchise” rapper, time healed everything. With time and his launch of “Project HEAL,” Scott cleaned things up and slowly returned to the main stage.

Thanks to Diddy, Travis got to take the stage at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. On May 27, Nike released the new Cactus Jack Nike Air Trainer 1’s. Now his Cacti drink could return.

Travis Scott took it to social media and posted a picture of a Cacti billboard with and texted the word “patience.”

It’s no word on an official return, although the Cacti Instagram is back activated, and it seems like the world is slowly beginning to accept Travis Scott again.

As far as the actual Utopia album from Trav, who knows when he’ll be ready. Even though Scott hasn’t dropped an album since Astroworld, he just dropped a few tracks this year. Hit producer Southside dropped “Hold That Heat,” featuring Travis, and he drooped “MAFIA.”

Akron Teen Beaten to Death Near I Promise School Founded by LeBron James

Ethan Liming, a 17-year-old male, was beaten to death last Thursday night near the basketball courts of the I Promise School founded by LeBron James in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Liming was found near 11 p.m. in a parking lot located next to the courts at 400 W. Market Street.

Local authorities believe Fleming was with friends at the lot and got into a fight with three other men who were present playing basketball. Liming was knocked unconscious and then “brutally assaulted,” his friends called the police.

“We’re at the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio,” one of the friends said in a police recording. “Our friend just got knocked out. We don’t know what to do.”

The school is closed for the summer with the last day of classes occurring on May 25.

“Our Akron Public Schools family expresses its deepest condolences and offers its prayers to the family and friends of a student who lost his life last night,” Superintendent Christine Fowler Mack said in a letter.

She added, “The death of a student affects all of Akron Public Schools. Ethan’s passing is, sadly, one of many we have experienced during this school year. May we all pause a moment from our daily pressures to give thanks for the lives of these children. May we forever find ways to keep our memories of them alive. Each of these losses reminds us about how precious, and sometimes fleeting, life can be.”

LeBron James would also issue a brief statement on Twitter.
