Amber Rose Clarifies Beyoncé ‘Copycat’ Accusation as a Friendly Troll Gone Wrong

Over the weekend, Amber Rose found herself in the headlines for suggesting that Beyoncé copied her Republican National Convention speech during a recent rally for Kamala Harris in Houston. But according to Amber, this was nothing more than a lighthearted joke between friends that got seriously misconstrued.

The controversy kicked off after Amber’s comments started circulating, leading fans and media to speculate about a supposed “beef” with Beyoncé. However, as she explained to TMZ, Amber was merely trolling. Out celebrating Halloween in Hollywood, she addressed the misunderstanding, saying it was just a bit of playful shade aimed at Beyoncé—a friend she occasionally ribs for fun. “I troll my friends all the time,” Amber clarified, emphasizing that the supposed accusation was never meant to be taken seriously.

Amber further added that she finds it funny, albeit frustrating, how even lighthearted trolling can spiral into headlines. “You can’t even joke anymore without making international news,” she said. Amber, who has met Beyoncé a few times, expressed surprise at how a casual tease could blow up, pointing out that today’s hyper-connected world doesn’t leave much room for harmless jokes among friends.

Ultimately, Amber Rose’s clarification shows just how quickly talking about Beyonce can turn into a swarm from the Beyhive.

The Culture Parlor, led by visionary filmmaker Ayana Morris, unveiled its inaugural mobile art installation, “Don’t Touch My Hair,” at Harriet Tubman Square during the Newark Arts Festival. This immersive exhibit, designed to challenge societal norms surrounding Black hair, marks a significant cultural moment in Newark’s artistic landscape.

The opening ceremony, held on October 11th, featured esteemed guests, including Newark Mayor Ras J Baraka, Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, and Rutgers University–Newark Chancellor Jeffrey Robinson. The event commenced with a powerful address by Ayana Morris, who highlighted the exhibit’s mission to celebrate and reclaim Black identity through art.

Once inside the “Don’t Touch My Hair” exhibition, the viewer is immersed in seven moving images that explore various aspects of Black women’s hair. Themes such as bondage, resistance, embrace, assimilation, and survival are highlighted. A powerful poem accompanies these visuals, helping the audience grasp the struggles and triumphs Black women have experienced with their hair. For example, the image on assimilation portrays a woman with blow-dried straight hair, symbolizing the pressure to conform. In contrast, the theme of survival reflects on how hair was braided into maps, guiding the path to freedom for slaves. The exhibition features a full service salon installation with products from renowned hair product company Mielle. Illuminated by ambient lighting, dynamic table dressings and reflective mirrors, the exhibit encourages introspection on the historical and cultural significance of Black hair, creating a space for dialogue and empowerment.

Throughout the weekend, attendees enjoyed a series of events, including the Hair Gala, which encouraged attendees to express their creativity through elaborate hairstyles while enjoying a panel discussion. Saturday’s conversations with Allure’s Jessica Cruel, Shauna Kay, Barri Gibson, Amanda Mitchell, and Kela Walker, and Jennifer Edwards covered Black Women’s Portrayal In Print Media, Black In Beauty, as well as leveraging social media. On Sunday, The Grit & Glam Brunch honored influential figures Mikki Taylor, Misa Hylton, and Claire Sulmners for their contributions to Black beauty and fashion. Panel discussions, live performances, and a vibrant Hair Gala further enriched the festival’s theme of “Radical Reimaging,” enhancing Newark’s cultural vibrancy. Music was provided by DJ Sienna.

So, in honor of National Mental Health Day on Oct. 10, the Houston rapper has partnered with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to support the Never A Bother initiative, which is dedicated to preventing suicide among teens and young adults.

When it comes to the program, it focuses on increasing awareness of suicide prevention tools and resources that can be used before, during, and after a crisis. Launched this year, Never A Bother also aims to reduce instances of self-harm by encouraging individuals to support their friends during difficult times.

Get this, the initiative provides materials for those dealing with mental health challenges, individuals who want to help a friend, and adults who care for young people. These resources are available on the campaign’s official website.

Megan, posted on the Gram alongside the campaign video, encouraging her fans, “Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or alone? Hotties, you don’t have to go through it by yourself!”

In the video, the “Savage” rapper opens up about her personal experiences with mental health struggles. The clip includes footage from her interview with Billboard’s executive director of R&B/Hip-Hop, Gail Mitchell, where she reflects on her journey toward seeking help.

Glorilla Recalls Seeing Rihanna Dance to “TGIF” on IG: ‘People Be Saying That’s My Twin’

image

GloRilla is still amazed that Rihanna made a video of her “TGIF” banger. In a conversation with Billboard, GloRilla revealed her reaction while showing some love to Beyoncé.

“Riri [was] asking for the album and dancing to the song,” GLo said. “She don’t be dancing to people’s song. When she did that, I was like, ‘Wow,’ ’cause you know, people be saying that’s my twin. They be hatin’ on me. I love Rihanna. I’m a big fan of Rihanna. I love Beyoncé. I’m the biggest fan of Beyoncé. This was my third time meeting her and she’s always so sweet every time. I love her.”

After the video, Rihanna contacted the Memphis star via IG DM with a playful question. Hmm, about her next project’s release date.

Rihanna kind of had the hilarious audacity to ask, “You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypothetical, but when the album drop?”

Fans, being overly sensitive fans, were a bit more concerned with the long gestating drop of Rihanna’s own album, R9, than that of Glo’s debut body of work.

GloRilla’s album will drop on Oct. 11.

Cardi B and Offset Spark Drama at NYC Club Amidst Divorce

Cardi B Says Offset Will Address Social Media Rumors in His Forthcoming Album

Last week, everything seemed amicable between Cardi B and Offset, as the two were spotted together at Cardi’s grandmother’s 86th birthday celebration. It looked like the divorced couple, who share three children, were keeping things peaceful. But fast forward a few days, and a fresh wave of drama has fans buzzing—this time over Offset’s unexpected appearance at the same NYC nightclub where Cardi was living her best life.

The incident went down at Dream Hospitality Group’s party at The Stafford Room early Sunday morning. TMZ obtained footage showing Cardi enjoying herself, dancing and vibing to the music, oblivious to any potential drama. But that quickly changed when the DJ gave an unexpected shoutout to Offset, announcing his presence in the building. According to eyewitnesses, Cardi seemed startled by the mention, as fans wondered why her ex was at the same venue.

While Cardi was busy twerking and partying like Offset wasn’t even there, fans noticed the tension, especially since the two exes kept their distance throughout the night. Offset stayed on the opposite side of the room, and despite the club being packed with partygoers, the couple avoided any direct interaction. Eyewitnesses confirmed that Cardi and Offset didn’t arrive or leave together, nor did they hang out while at the event. Their time overlapping at the club was brief, with Offset slipping out solo, leaving Cardi to continue the night without any disruption.

Fans, however, aren’t buying that this was a coincidence. Many have accused Offset of stalking Cardi, questioning why he showed up to the same club she was at despite their divorce proceedings. The speculation comes just weeks after Cardi officially filed for divorce in July, requesting primary custody of their children.

As for the couple’s future, only time will tell, but for now, the tension between the two shows no signs of cooling off. Fans remain divided—some rooting for reconciliation, while others believe the best path forward for both rappers is to keep their distance.

Halle Berry Refuses to Turn Over Financial Records in Heated Child Custody Case

Halle Berry Thinks Her Monthly $16K Child Support Payments is 'Extortion'

Halle Berry Thinks Her Monthly $16K Child Support Payments is 'Extortion'

Actress Halle Berry is pushing back against her ex-husband Olivier Martinez’s demands to produce financial records in their ongoing child custody dispute, according to In Touch. The actress is objecting to appearing in court later this month and providing extensive financial documents, escalating tensions in what has become a contentious legal battle.

Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that Berry, 58, is contesting Martinez’s request for her to attend a hearing on October 22, arguing there is no legitimate reason to compel her presence. Berry’s lawyer filed objections, pointing out that Martinez, also 58, has sought to delay hearings multiple times, claiming he lacked the resources to pursue discovery until a court issued a fee order. Despite these claims, Berry’s legal team accuses Martinez of launching an “aggressive and extensive” financial discovery process that they argue goes beyond what’s necessary for post-divorce proceedings.

According to Berry’s recent filing, Martinez demanded documents covering 70 categories spanning multiple years, requests that her legal team calls “overly broad in time and scope.” Berry’s lawyer stressed that her historical financial information has no relevance to the current issues being contested in court, particularly regarding needs-based legal fees.

The filing further alleges that Martinez’s demands are “unduly burdensome, harassing, and a waste of time and resources,” with Berry’s attorney emphasizing that the scope of the requests exceeds the matters at hand. The actress believes she shouldn’t be forced to incur additional legal fees to produce what she deems irrelevant documentation.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, who finalized their divorce in late 2023, have been locked in a complicated legal battle since then. Their ongoing custody issues, which include financial disagreements, have drawn considerable attention, with Berry fighting to protect her privacy and limit the extent of financial discovery.

As the October 22 hearing approaches, the courtroom drama between the former couple appears far from over, leaving the resolution of their legal battle still uncertain.
