The Iconic Swoop

Her most recognizable hairstyle was seen throughout her career.  Her swooping bang and long hair remain a mainstay to this day.  Sexy, mysterious, and still attainable to wear with or without a weave.

Cardi B Shows Off Her Natural Strands And Shares Her Secret To Long Healthy Hair-Vegetable Water

Cardi B Hair

Come thru growth is all we could say when Cardi stopped by on social media to show us her natural hair.  No this wasn’t a wig installed by her longtime stylist Tokyo Stylez, this was her natural hair and it has really grown leaving all of us with our jaws dropping while she flaunted inches upon inches of her fresh silk pressed straight strands.  The Grammy Award winner went to Tik Tok on Tuesday revealing her full head of natural hair giving us a 360 view of her strands, freshly washed and blown out.  After a few turns and a head toss she walks off camera and returns for the final reveal of sleek straight newly pressed hair that went past her hips with a caption that read “ I been using secret vegetable water on my hair….can you guess which vegetable is it? …here’s a clue. I did a tutorial on it about 6 years ago.”

The Bronx native also followed up the look on her Instagram in a video you can see her pulling her fingers through her strands and tossing them back and forth to show off the inches. with the caption “My Hair. No Tape-Ins,”

Of course, we went and did some digging but couldn’t quite figure out what it was.  We do know Cardi loves to create her own hair masks and in the past, she has used ingredients from her kitchen which include castor, coconut and argan oils, avocado, honey, and banana. The 29-year-old rap megastar previously revealed she also does regular hair masks and drinks alkaline water to boost hair growth and has admitted that she feared her hair would fall out after giving birth to her son.

Looks like we will just have to wait for the wife and mom of two to reveal the secret formula but until then we have rounded up our favorite hair mask that will help smooth, soften and repair hair damage. in other words, help you to achieve “inches” like our girl Cardi.

Ne-Yo’s wife, Crystal Renay Smith, is putting an end to their marriage.

Smith filed for divorce from R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Smith, earlier this week saying their marriage is broken with no hope for reconciliation.

Crystal listed the date of their separation as “on or about July 22, 2022” in the filing and claimed they’ve “continuously lived in a bona fide state of separation.” Adding, they are “irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.”

Smith also noted while her and the “Sexy Love” singer were together, he fathered a child with another woman, and “committed the act of adultery.”

A few days before the filing went public, Crystal shared an emotional message on social media airing out the 3x GRAMMY winner.

She accused the 42-year-old of cheating on her with “numerous women who sell their bodies to him unprotected,” asking the public to stop sending her videos and information about his alleged cheating, declaring his actions are “no longer my concern.”

Ne-Yo responded on social media shortly after asking the public to respect their privacy while they handle things offline for the sake of their children.

“For the sake of our children, my family and I will work through our challenges behind closed doors. Personal matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. I simply ask that you please respect me and my family’s privacy at this time.”

The news comes just a few months after the couple renewed their vows in Las Vegas in April. Crystal, 36, is asking for primary physical custody of their three kids, joint legal custody, child support and alimony.  Renay-Smith previously filed for divorce in 2020 but ended up withdrawing her petition.

Doja Cat 5

“I never liked having hair” Doja explained to her 24.1 million followers Thursday night after revealing a new buzz cut during an Instagram live. She was clearly having a transformative moment, mentally and physically and we were all here for it to listen and watch the ‘Kiss Me More’ singer let go of the very thing her fans never see, her natural hair she explains because she is constantly wearing wigs.   “What is the use of having hair if you’re not gonna wear it out, I don’t even sport it. ” Doja says as she talked about her decision to shave off her head. “I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway. I never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time, since the beginning of my life, that I’ve ever been like, ‘This is cool.’ I just do not like to have hair,” she said. The Grammy winner also explained how she’s felt “so f***ing exhausted when working out” while wearing wigs on her head. Admitting to fans how her wigs would get tacky and start pealing off of her head due to moisture and sweat and how she couldn’t focus on the workout as she was more concerned with the way she looked and how her hair was doing. “First of all, I don’t wear my hair out. I don’t wear it natural cause I don’t feel like it. It’s just a f***ing nightmare, dude. I’m over it.” she goes on to say “ What is the use of having hair if you’re not going to wear it out I don’t even sport it.”

After debuting her new buzz cut, with a razor in hand Doja went in to also shave her eyebrows off making the decision to cut it live even revealing that her makeup artist was in a frenzy watching it and was driving over while she did it.  After she finished shaving one side she looked in the mirror and lets out a big oooooohhhhn and a smile.

It doesn’t look like the singer /rapper regrets one bit of her transformation, admitting to fans that she’s obsessed with her new look.  Sometimes you gotta let it go just to keep your sanity.  Thank you Doja for your honesty and for sharing your very personal transformation with us.

Beyoncé Removes Interpolation of “Milkshake” From Song “Energy” And Kelis’ Name From The Credits

Beyonce

Only Queen Bey can shut it all the way down, without saying a word. Beyoncé removed the interpolation of “Milkshake” from her new song “Energy” after Kelis went in on the singer on social media for featuring the snippets of the song, on ‘Energy’ one of the songs in her newly released album “Renaissance,” proclaiming it an “act of thievery,”  going on social media on a rant saying “I just heard the record everyone is saying has my sample. But it’s beyond this song at this point. This was a TRIGGER for me. ‘Milkshake’ alone is one of the most licensed records of our generation. I am a creator, I’m an innovator, I have done more than left my mark on an era of music and style that will go down in history. But there are bullies and secrets and gangsters in this industry that smile and get away with it until someone says enough is enough. So I’m saying it today. I’m coming for what’s mine and I want reparations.”  On the original version of “Energy,” near the song’s end, Beyoncé sang a variation of the “La-la, la-la, la” that Kelis made famous on “Milkshake” Now, Tidal and Apple have removed the interpolation of the song that appears on ‘Energy’  It’s unclear when other streaming services will update the track on their platforms.

It has been an unexpectedly rocky release for Beyonce despite receiving rave reviews for her dance album,” Renaissance” has had its share of controversy, From the day before its drop, last Friday, the Album was leaked online,  On Monday, Beyoncé announced she would be removing the word “spaz” from the song “Heated” following backlash from critics who said the word is an ableist slur. And hours after the official release singer, chef, Kelis when on social media to voice her frustration that her song “Milkshake” was being used without the courtesy of a heads up.(Note:  Beyoncé’s website also noted the song was interpolated, which takes an existing sound and alters it, whereas sampling takes directly from a song with no changes). Songwriting legend Diane Warren slammed, her for having 24 writers on one song, and now Monica Lewinsky is asking to remove her name from “Partition” lyrics. We’ll just keep dancing and watching while Bey blocks all negativity that comes her way.

Beyoncé To Remove Ableist Lyric From Song “Heated” After Criticism From Disabled Community

Beyoncé

Beyoncé recently released her long awaited follow up to 2016’s Lemonade entitled Renaissance. While the album has received critical acclaim, Beyoncé has been facing criticism from the disabled community for her use of the slur “spaz” in the song “Heated.”

In the song, Beyoncé sings “Spazzin’ on that ass, spazz on that ass.” The word “spaz” is derived from the word “spastic” which refers to the medical condition known as spastic cerebral palsy.

According to CNN, a representative for Beyoncé told the news outlet earlier today, Aug. 1, that the slur would be removed from the song, saying that “the word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced.”

Social media was split on the decision to remove the lyric. While disability advocates came in support of the lyric change, others asked if it was necessary given its different meaning in the Black community.

This comes just months after Lizzo faced criticism from the disabled community over her use of the slur “spaz” in her song “Grrrls.”

“It’s been brought to my attention that there is a harmful word in my new song ‘GRRRLS.’ Let me make one thing clear: I never want to promote derogatory language,” Lizzo wrote. “As a fat black woman in America, I’ve had many hateful words used against me so I understand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case unintentionally). I’m proud to say there’s a new version of GRRRLS with a lyric change.”
