Mo'Nique Speaks on Issues with Tiffany Haddish, Oprah, Kevin Hart and Tyler Perry During 'Club Shay Shay' Visit

Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay has become the podcast to go get your gripes off. After the viral Katt Wiliams interview, Shay Shay welcomes another comedian, Mo’Nique, who aired her issues. The targets include Tiffany Haddish, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, and Kevin Hart.

Mo’Nique addressed comments by Haddish directed toward her husband and business partner in discussing the failed Netflix deal. “My business run different than her business,” Haddish said. “I don’t live her life. I don’t have that husband of hers.”

During the episode, Mo’Nique said: “When I saw that, it’s like, Tiffany, if you had a husband like mine, you may not have two DUIs. If you had a husband like mine, you may not be caught up in what looks like you could have been grooming a child.”

Shots fired.

The commentary on Kevin Hart was a bit softer, stating the comedian ghosted her after appearing on his podcast. Hart stated he would executive produce any project she wanted to work on, but his manager gave the impression the comedian didn’t want “anything to do with” her. Hart called it all miscommunication, but there hasn’t been any conversation since.

Mo’Nique also stated when her family was in a bad spot, Kevin Hart extended his hand with a check, whichs he later repaid.

Moving on to Oprah, Mo’Nique states she was “betrayed” by the woman she once idolized. “Family is sacred, and we don’t cross the line with family.” The lengthy discourse on Oprah is available below.

In the same statement, she addressed Taraji P. Henson’s crying in the media, suggesting it was more well-received than standing firm with her husband by her side. “It’s a sad day when we’re questioning why a Black man would stand with his Black woman.” Mo’Nique stated Henson was a “better messenger” for the matters impacting Black women in Hollywood.

Mo’Nique stated she had a recording of Tyler Perry admitting to lying about Mo’Nique being hard to work, leading to her being blackballed.

“That’s cost my family tens of millions of dollars, yeah, over a lie and a rumor,” Mo’Nique said, speaking on a loss of an opportunity for generational wealth. “We want to ensure that when we leave here, our babies are in good hands. Their well-being is paramount. If Tyler Perry hadn’t spread that falsehood, we’d be on our way already.”

During the episode, Mo’Nique revealed Sharpe heard the recording.

You can hear it below.

In the third slide she penned a message remembering her days singing and sweeping hair in her mom’s hair salon, Ms. Tina Lawson.

Beyoncé’s message reads:

“How many of y’all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon? Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done. I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw first hand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”

Bravolebrity Kandi Burruss Announced She Is Not Returning to ‘RHOA’

Kandi Burruss Announced She Is Not Returning to ‘RHOA’

First, I bet you didn’t know Kandi Burruss was reportedly earning $2 million bucks a season as a cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which by all standards makes her the highest-paid “Bravolebrity.” WOW. So it is a big surprise that after 14 drama-filled seasons, Burruss is exiting the franchise as she just announced what she calls “a break.”

ICYMI, Burruss first came to the show in the second season. She was already a celebrity in her own right and gave credibility to the franchise as the first big name from outside the Bravo reality world to join the cast. She has used the platform more than most housewives as a bonafide entrepreneur with her adult toy line, restaurants, cosmetics, clothing, acting on series like The Chi, and most recently, acting AND producing Broadway productions. But we say all that to say the news hits the Bravo world during a major cast shakeup for RHOA.

Burruss made the surprise announcement on the red carpet for the 2024 Grammy Awards. She spoke to Variety and exclusively confirmed her exit. “I’m not really keeping up right now,” Burruss said, “I’m not keeping up. I already said it, so I’ll tell you. I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.”

Then she added, “But it’s not just that. It’s just like, after you really have time to think, and a friend of mine was like, ‘Why do you keep doing it?’ And I was like, ‘Well, I think because I’ve just been doing it for so long, it feels weird to think not to do it?’ So I was just like, ‘You know what? I’m going to take a break, I’m going to take a moment… I’m not coming back this year.’”

If you were keeping up, Burruss previously mentioned on her Instagram Live stream that “she grew frustrated with waiting for casting decisions to be made. She won’t skip a beat with the varying projects she is part of,” as reported by Shadow and Act

Well, good luck, Burruss; we’re sure there’s nothing but big things ahead, and maybe a return to RHOA is in her future. Stay tuned.
