Former R.Kelly Victim Shares Story Of Abuse In New Book

Back in 2017 former R. Kelly victim Jerhonda Pace came forward with her story of being a sex slave since the age of 16. Now Jerhonda shares her New Year’s message for trauma survivors and promotes her new autobiography which is also available for free on her blog.

Pace writes:

Life. I’m starting 2023 off with me reading my autobiography. This one is personal. If you’ve been around for some time, then you’re probably familiar with my story. It was by far one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Writing this book was an emotional rollercoaster. I had to rip the bandaid off and reveal those family secrets. It’s something that so many of us struggle with in the black community.

My story isn’t just mine. It’s the story of so many black women. The trauma of growing up with drug addicted parents, experiencing childhood sexual abuse, having daddy issues, coming from a single parent household, using government assistance, living in poverty, etc.

For me, it was hell on earth. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. I didn’t want my children to experience that life. I knew it was up to me to break those generational curses. Thankfully, I was able to. What that looked like for me was cutting ties with my family. I learned that I couldn’t have boundaries with toxic people. It just didn’t work. I tried, but it was overwhelming and mentally draining.

Even though I don’t have a village and my kids don’t have a relationship with my family. I know I made the best decision to end that vicious cycle. If you’d like to read my book, it’s on my blog for free. The link is in my bio.

Heart Attack and Cardiac Arrest: Understanding the Difference

Damar Hamlin, Buffalo Bills safety, suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field during the first quarter of Monday night’s game between the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, his team said. It’s not clear what caused his cardiac arrest. 

Which leads to the question, what exactly is cardiac arrest? According to Heart.Org, cardiac arrest is the abrupt loss of heart function in a person who may or may not has been diagnosed with heart disease. It can come on suddenly or in the wake of other symptoms. Cardiac arrest is often fatal if appropriate steps aren’t taken immediately. More than 356,000 cardiac arrests occur annually outside a hospital in the U.S.

Cardiac arrest and heart attack are not the same. Heart.Org describes a heart attack as being caused by a blockage that stops blood flow to the heart. A heart attack refers to the death of heart muscle tissue due to the loss of blood supply. It’s a problem with one’s circulation. A heart attack is quite serious and sometimes fatal. Cardiac arrest is caused when the heart’s electrical system malfunctions. The heart stops beating properly. The heart’s pumping function is “arrested” or stopped.

In cardiac arrest, death can result quickly if proper steps aren’t taken immediately. Cardiac arrest may be reversed if CPR is performed and a defibrillator shocks the heart and restores a normal heart rhythm within a few minutes.

The symptoms for both are vastly different as well. Heart attacks often begin with sudden chest pain but can also start slowly with mild pain that lasts several hours. Symptoms of a heart attack can vary, and if you’ve had one heart attack, your symptoms may be different if you experience another one. On the other hand, cardiac arrests can often happen to people who didn’t know they had a heart problem. A person experiencing cardiac arrest may collapse and lose consciousness. They may stop breathing or experience difficulty breathing.

[WATCH] Buffalo NY Woman Saves Stranger Dying In Blizzard

Sha’Kyra Aughtry has been deemed a hero after saving a elderly stranger in the buffalo blizzard that reached 51 inches.

Aughtry and her boyfriend helped bring Joe White into their home saving his life after he got stuck walking home in the storm. He was crying for help when Aughtry heard him. He had “big ice balls” and gangrene on his hands. The mother of three panned the video camera to show White’s injuries. She explained she had to cut the handles of a shopping bag White was carrying that had become stuck to his hands. She also used wire cutters to cut a ring piercing through his skin. The man had a disability and his condition appeared to be deteriorating so went on Facebook live to ask for assistance. The good Samaritan showed herself feeding white and pleading for help.

“I currently have [an] older 64-year-old white man in my house. I found him yesterday. I heard him screaming for help on my street. I’m looking out the window, when I looked out the window, he was getting blown up and down the street. It was out of control,” Aughtry said in her 15-minute live video.

“He needs medical attention!” Aughtry pleaded. “I’ve had this man since 6:37 in the morning of the 24th.”

Less than an hour after her first live post, Aughtry shared another live video, showing several men she referred to as good Samaritans helping her transport White to the Erie County Medical Center near her home.

“I got some guys just carrying him right now. I just want to show you all that I wasn’t exaggerating. They came in, they plowed out my house. They getting him in [to a waiting truck], I’m right here Joe” Aughtry shared as she rode to the hospital with Joes. White mustered to say ‘I love you’ to Aughtry to which she replied,’I love you too sweetie!’

Strangers have donated over $261K for Aughtry and White.
An online fundraiser for Sha’Kyra Aughtry has raised over $168,000 while another fundraiser for Joe White has raised over $94,000 in just three days.

US to Require Negative Covid Tests Before Flights For Travelers From China

The CDC announced today that it is implementing a requirement for a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of recovery for air passengers boarding flights to the United States originating from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau. This includes passengers flying directly to the United States from China and passengers flying through popular third-country gateways, including Seoul, Toronto and Vancouver. The requirement aims to prevent the spread of Covid and transmission of any possible new variants. 

According to federal health officials, passengers flying to the US must get a test no more than two days before flying and present proof of the negative test to their airline before boarding. Contrary to past regulations the test can either be a PCR or an antigen self-test administered through a telehealth service. 

The new rules take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on January 5. Reports reflect growing concern around China’s lack of transparency in disclosing their surge in cases including the absence of genome sequencing information. Withholding of this information slows detection of new strains of the coronavirus putting public safety at risk.

The execution timeline was selected to give airlines a grace period to fulfill new requirements. New rules are expected to last in accordance with the situation on the ground. In addition to this rule, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expanding the Traveler-based Genomic Surveillance program to airports in Seattle and Los Angeles. 

On Monday, China announced it will end quarantine requirements for international arrivals from January 8, marking a major step toward reopening its borders. The sudden end to China’s stringent health policy has raised eyebrows across the country and sparked the rollout of these restrictions. The gray area surrounding China’s reports and a surge in cases, has also influenced Japan’s decision to test all individuals upon arrival starting December 30th.

Actor Michael Jai White spoke to VLAD TV about fat acceptance and people that promote overweight celebrities like Lizzo and DJ Khaled.

Michael said “unhealthy sistas” should not take pride in morbidly obese influencers like Lizzo. DJ Vlad mentioned that the public treats Lizzo worse than DJ Khaled, which Vlad considers sexist. Michael stated that Black women are also subject to racism when it comes to beauty standards. He said Lizzo’s rise to fame has emboldened other women who are overweight, and that isn’t necessarily a good thing.

The 55-year-old actor also talked about soul food and why the ingredients are so unhealthy for Black people.

Al B. Sure! Updates Fans After Recent Health Scare

Al B. Sure! says that he underwent a tracheotomy while in the hospital, earlier this year. The legendary new jack swing singer was left in a coma for two months after a medical scare sent him rushing to the hospital.

Al B. Sure! detailed what went down at the hospital during a recent interview with Fox 5 New York. During the chat, he says that doctors considered sending him to hospice care.

“Eddie F is standing above me, I’m in a wheelchair, and he’s talking to security, he had me hidden in the corner. And I’m in an emergency room,” Al B. Sure! told the outlet. “And then I remember him embracing me and then putting me in his Escalade or whatever, and moving me, and those are the big things I remember. And wind up being in a hospital somewhere. This is in July 2022 and then it was September.”

He also discussed the health scare in an update shared on Instagram, Saturday.

“That moment when i get home and look into the mirror for the 1st time minus the bandages to discover that the massive hole in my neck from the #tracheostomy has completely closed,” he wrote. “Finally, Not too long ago I can remember simply attempting to speak and only the sound of “gurgling air pockets” would come through! 🗣 Dr. @djeddief for the save!”

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ Widow: There Was No Fight Before He Left Home

Allison Holker, the widow of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, told police they did not fight before he left home on Monday morning.

A housekeeper discovered Stephen dead in a pool of blood after he failed to check out of his hotel Tuesday. The 40-year-old died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The dancer/producer was best known as Ellen DeGeneres‘ longtime DJ on So You Think You Can Dance.

Allison, 34, insisted they did not fight or argue before he left home Monday morning, just three days after celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Allison told cops he didn’t return her phone calls which was extremely out of character.

Police accompanied Allison back to the couple’s $4 million mansion to search for any clues about his disappearance. Then they received a 911 call from a nearby motel, where a housekeeper had discovered Stephen’s body.

The couple were parents to daughter Zaia, 3, son Maddox, 6, and Allison’s daughter Weslie Fowler, 14, from a prior relationship. 
In a sit-down interview with Jennifer Hudson last month, the couple discussed having more children. 

Stephen and Allison, both professional dancers, met on the set of “So You Think You Can Dance.” The two began dating and eventually married. He adopted Allison’s daughter Weslie, center, as his own. The couple celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary just three days before he took his own life in a $107-a-night room at the Oak Tree Inn, a motel less than a mile from his home.

The motel manager, who asked to be identified by his first name, Rakesh, told DailyMail.com: “He went into his room, and he never came out. At 11.15 a.m. on Tuesday, the maid opened the door to check on the room. There was his stuff in there but no one there. She checked the bathroom, and there was blood everywhere.”

He added:

“She was very scared. This is the first time anything like that has happened here. We called 911, they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing. The paramedics and the police came, and they said he was dead. Maybe he did it during the day on Monday. It’s a busy, loud road outside here, it’s possible nobody heard it because of that.”

[WATCH] New Court Documents Detail PnB Rock’s Final Moments

New court documents detail rapper PnB Rock’s final moments before he died in a California Roscoe’s Chicken And Waffle restaurant.

Charging paperwork shows the rapper and his girlfriend arrived at the restaurant before his killers got there. The documents contradict an earlier report that the suspects were waiting in a vehicle outside the restaurant when the rapper arrived in his Bentley.

In the criminal complaint filed Thursday, Sept. 29, prosecutors say a “man in a red shirt” was outside the restaurant when he saw PnB Rock walk inside. The unidentified man noticed that PnB Rock was wearing expensive jewelry.

Prosecutors said the man lurked outside Roscoe’s until Freddie Lee Trone arrived driving a black Buick Enclave. Trone parked, walked up to the man in red, and spoke with him near the entrance to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. He then returned to his car and drove off while PnB Rock was still inside the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Trone’s 17-year-old son “armed himself with a handgun” and put on a mask, prosecutors say.

Police documents say that Freddie Lee Trone dropped the teen off near the strip mall where Roscoe’s is located. The teenager approached Roscoe’s, passed the man in red, and went inside. As he entered the restaurant, the man in red left the area.

The teen then approached the table where PnB Rock was eating with his girlfriend, Stephanie, and pointed the gun at him. According to prosecutors, the teen said, “Give me all of your jewelry, now!” He then shot PnB Rock in the chest while the rapper remained seated at the table. As PnB Rock fell to the floor, the teen allegedly shot him twice more in the back, prosecutors said.

He then turned to Stephanie and yelled, “Show me your hands! Give me that shit right now! I swear to God! I shoot you in the head!” He snatched her watch and then grabbed PnB Rock’s jewelry.

Freddie Lee Trone drove into the parking lot outside Roscoe’s as his son rushed outside and hopped into the car. They fled the restaurant, and parked the car several blocks from their residence, prosecutors alleged.

They later burned the car to get rid of evidence.

Police say father and son are members of the 87 Gangster Crips. Source’s say that Rock may have been robbed and killed because he did not “check in” with gang members who control the territory around the restaurant.

May the senseless killings stop.

R Kelly Ordered To Pay Victims He Infected With STD’s

Last month prison officials confiscated $30,000 from R. Kelly’s prison commissary account to satisfy court costs and victim restitutions. Kelly has been ordered to pay the victims he infected with herpes.

While his superfans have been donating money to the troubled convicted singer, $30k is not going to be enough.

At a restitution hearing in Brooklyn this week, R. Kelly was ordered to pay two victims $300k each for ongoing herpes and mental health treatment. A third accuser was not awarded any damages.

R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison for federal sex trafficking charges in New York. He is is awaiting sentencing after being convicted on child pornography charges in Chicago and is also awaiting trial in Minneapolis after being charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a person under 18 years of age and one count of hiring a person under 18 years of age for sexual purposes.
