FBG Duck’s Mother Reacts To Guilty Verdict In Son’s Murder’s Case

FBG Duck’s murder’s trial finally got a verdict, as the court found six O-Block members guilty for his tragic passing. Moreover, his mother recently took to social media to share her reaction along with presumably loved ones and family members present at the proceeding. For a chunk of the video, she simply walks and stares at the camera as her colleagues joke around, saying “Pop that booty juice!” for whatever reason. “I wanna see y’all tonight at my house,” the rapper’s mother exclaimed. “We popping bottles, we celebrating. We havin’ a ‘justice served’ party for Duck tonight.

Y’all don’t wanna know what I’ve been through,” FBG Duck’s mother continued. “These motherf***ers smug talking about, ‘They still breathing. FBG Duck Murder: 6 O-Block Members Found Guilty

Six members of the O-Block gang have been found guilty in the 2020 murder of drill rapper FBG Duck. A jury consisting of five men and seven women reached the verdict on Wednesday in a Chicago court. The anonymous group deliberated for approximately 16 hours before coming to an agreement. The guilty O-Block members include Charles Liggins, 32, Kenneth Roberson, 30, Christopher Thomas, 24, Marcus Smart, 25, Tacarlos Offerd, 32, and Ralph Turpin, 34. All six of them face life in prison.

While the jury found them all guilty of the murder in furtherance of a racketeering scheme, they remain mixed on other lesser counts. During the trial, the prosecution cited Duck’s track, “Dead Bitches,” which mocked the defendants’ slain associates, as noted by the Chicago Tribune. The attorney for Liggins argued in response that the song was just “good business.” “Part of YouTube promotion is clickbait. That’s what this was about. Mr. Weekly knew it … it’s marketing and promotion,” attorney Cynthia Giacchetti said in her closing remarks. “This is not fanning the flames of murder, this is fanning the flames of capitalism, making money for everybody.”

The prosecution, on the other hand, argued that most of the defendants weren’t rappers and therefore, their beef wasn’t to increase album sales. “That’s because O-Block is a criminal enterprise,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Julien said. “It’s not a record label, it’s not Motown, it’s not Graceland. It’s a violent street gang that murders people and sells drugs. That’s the reality.”

FBG Duck’s murder went down in a drive-by shooting in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood in August 2020. By April 2023, police arrested all six of the defendants who have now been found guilty. At the time of publishing, a sentencing has not been set. Be on the lookout for further updates on the sentencing of the defendants in the murder of FBG Duck on HotNewHipHop.

Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, says the actor remains confident in the legal process. He “looks forward to fully clearing his name.” She said in a statement to NBC News: “It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that. We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him.”

Jabbari’s attorney, Ross Kramer, conversely told CNN: “Ms. Jabbari testified publicly & truthfully, even though reliving these traumatic events on the witness stand was obviously painful. Unfortunately, for every survivor like Ms. Jabbari who comes forward to hold their abuser accountable, there are many others who believe that they cannot. Jonathan Majors Found Guilty In Assault Trial

Jonathan Majors has been found guilty of one misdemeanor assault and one harassment violation in his trial regarding an alleged attack on Grace Jabbari. The judge announced the jury’s verdict in court on Monday, according to reporter Meghann Cuniff. The decision comes after they heard closing arguments from both sides on Friday. The judge set his sentencing date for February 6.

In the courtroom, prosecutor Kelli Galaway argued in her closing statements that Majors, in blaming Jabbari, used a classic move out of abusers’ playbooks. “This is not a revenge plot to ruin the defendant’s life or his career,” she said. “You were asked why you are here? Because domestic violence is serious.”

In a statement provided to CNN after the verdict came, Jabbari’s attorney, Ross Kramer, said: “Ms. Jabbari testified publicly & truthfully, even though reliving these traumatic events on the witness stand was obviously painful. Sam Bankman-Fried Found Guilty In FTX Fraud Case

Sam Bankman-Fried has been found guilty on seven charges primarily relating to fraud. Additionally the charges stem from his role in the collapse of his cryptocurrency exchange, FTX. The charges Bankman-Fried faced could amount to 110 years in prison. However, experts believe that the 31-year-old will receive well below the maximum sentence when he is sentenced in March. The main crux of the prosecution’s argument was that Bankman-Fried had used his hedge fund, Alameda Research, to siphon funds away from FTX, which he founded two years later. This money came from customers who used the exchange. Furthermore, Bankman-Fried is believed to have defrauded his customers for more than $10 billion.

Jurors rejected testimony from Bankman-Fried that he never intended to defraud the customers of his cryptocurrency monolith. However, Bankman-Fried’s rang hollow. The prosecution presented countless tales of structural mismanagement, a lack of proper accounting, and simply bizarre details. Salacious headlines have dominated the case since the exchange collapsed last year. Of particular note were the reports that Bankman-Fried lived alongside nine other people as part of a polycule, a term to describe the structure of a polyamorous relationship. All nine of them reportedly worked alongside Bankman-Fried at FTX.

Prosecutors Declare Justice Served, Bankman-Fried Vows To Fight

US Attorney Damian Williams told reporters that Bankman-Fried had “perpetrated one of the biggest financial frauds in American history, a multibillion dollar scheme designed to make him the king of crypto. But here’s the thing: The cryptocurrency industry might be new. The players like Sam Bankman-Fried might be new. This kind of fraud, this kind of corruption is as old as time and we have no patience for it,” he said.

In closing statements, Bankman-Fried’s attorneys argued that the prosecution was trying to “turn Sam into some sort of villain, some sort of monster.” Furthermore, after the verdict, his team vowed that the fight wasn’t over. “We respect the jury’s decision. But we are very disappointed with the result. Mr. Bankman Fried maintains his innocence and will continue to vigorously fight the charges against him,” attorney Mark Cohen told reporters outside the courthouse.

Carlee Russell To Pay $18K In Restitution, Found Guilty For Fake Kidnapping

Back in July, 26-year-old student Carlee Russell made headlines after her family reported her missing. She returned home only three days after her disappearance, claiming that she had been abducted. Though friends and family were overjoyed that Russell was uninjured, spectators were quick to call out some inconsistencies in her case.

Speculation that Russell’s kidnapping may have been a hoax was later confirmed by her attorney. “There was no kidnapping on Thursday, July 13, 2023,” they explained. “My client apologizes for her actions to this community, to volunteers who were searching for her, to the Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well, as to her friends and family. We ask for your prayers for Carlee as she addresses her issues and attempts to move forward understanding that she made a mistake in this matter. Carlee again asks for your forgiveness and prayers.”

Carlee Russell Could Face Jail Time

An arrest warrant was eventually issued, and Russell turned herself in. She was then charged with two misdemeanors, making a false report to authorities and falsely reporting an incident. She appeared in court today, pleading not guilty to her charges. Judge Brad Bishop, however, found her guilty of both. She’s now been ordered to pay more than $18k in restitution, on top of $831 per charge. She could also be looking at jail time, as the judge recommends a one-year sentence. According to her attorney, she plans to appeal the decision.

“We stipulated and appealed the case and the reason behind it was that they’re trying to ask for jail time, which we totally disagree with,” her attorney explained. “So, in fairness, there’s no need of having a trial here, knowing their position. So we have stipulated and appealed the case and we’ll start anew in the Bessemer circuit court.” What do you think of Carlee Russell being found guilty? Do you think the judge’s decision was fair? MHD was first arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter back in 2019. Witnesses reportedly saw his car at the scene of the crime in Paris’ 10th arrondissement in July 2018. After the arrest, his lawyers quickly stated that he had no “involvement in the brawl” which led to the victim, Loïc K’s death. “His presence at the scene of the incident remains to be proven,” they said at the time. They added that the car was used by different “individuals identified by investigators as the perpetrators of the deadly attack,” while also arguing that MHD contacted investigators “as soon as he became aware” of the car’s involvement. They further confirmed that MHD has “never been involved in conflicts between rival gangs.” Several other French artists have voiced their support for MHD in the time since his initial arrest.

MHD has released three studio albums throughout his career. His self-titled first project came in 2016, followed by 19 in 2018 and Mansa in 2021. He blends trap music with West African music, which he describes as “Afro Trap.” Be on the lookout for further updates on MHD’s case on HotNewHipHop.

Blueface Pleads Guilty In Las Vegas Shooting Case

On Monday (June 26), according to The Review Journal, Blueface went to court in what was expected to be a preliminary hearing for his Las Vegas shooting. For those unaware, the rapper fired shots at a man who made a bad joke against his crew outside of a Vegas club in October of 2022. Moreover, in this hearing, opposing parties met to determine whether there was enough evidence to press charges. However, the California MC ended up pleading guilty in this case and took the case to a whole other phase. Furthermore, he did so on one felony count of firing a gun at an occupied vehicle and one misdemeanor battery charge.

To elaborate, according to these reports, Blueface will formally enter plea on July 3. What’s more is that prosecutor Nick Portz expressed that the state of Nevada is open to considering a probation sentence for the incident. Of course, this consideration applies to whenever the “BDD” artist formally enters his plea. In addition, it seems like this new deal will see authorities drop all other charges against him for the altercation.

Regardless, this legal development failed to provide further details on what went down, since it was already well-known. According to TMZ, who obtained alleged legal documents, Blueface found himself at the Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club in Vegas in October of last year. When his alleged victim joked about ““some females in a cheap vehicle” he was talking to, the rhymer’s crew reportedly attacked him. As the victim sped off, he allegedly shot at his truck. Still, as of writing this article, another civil lawsuit connected to this incident is still up in the air.

Meanwhile, the alleged owner of the club blasted the rapper for his actions, claiming that he forced them to close the establishment. In an Instagram message, he expressed wishes to see Blue in prison for “the rest of his life” or “pay [them] until the day he leaves this earth.” With all this mind, it’s surprising that the case will apparently resolve quickly. Taxstone Sentencing Delayed

After years of proceedings and weeks of taunting and beef, Taxstone’s fate following his guilty verdict on manslaughter charges hangs in the balance. Moreover, the court delayed his sentencing from April 19 to May 25, which is seven years to the day after the shooting the court found him guilty of. Furthermore, this information comes from court documents obtained by AllHipHop, which U.S. Attorney Damian Williams confirmed. For those unaware, officials arrested Taxstone (real name Daryl Campbell) in 2017 on charges related to a 2016 Irving Plaza shooting in New York City.

An escalation between Tax and rapper Troy Ave while a T.I. concert took place led to the death of Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter. Also, the incident caused several injuries, including to Troy himself. Later, authorities charged Taxstone with various offenses like illegal possession of a firearm and second-degree murder. While he pled guilty to gun charges in June of 2017, he maintained his innocence when it came to murder charges. In the years since, Tax and Troy Ave battled on social media and gave each other various taunts and threats.

Even though Ave also faced charges in connection to the deadly shooting, he testified against Campbell for a reduced sentence. “To all my real ones that been riding with & for Me, today is the day I finally get to clear my name,” he wrote on Instagram. “It’s been almost 7 years since I lost one of my closest friends #RIPBANGA, 7 years of a narrative about it being my fault, 7 years of my character being assassinated all the while Trying to defend myself without saying much!” The court also delayed his sentencing.

Meanwhile, District Attorney Alvin Bragg also addressed victory this case. “Daryl Campbell was convicted of killing a man and shooting three others during a tragic and deadly confrontation in a packed New York City music venue,” he stated. “In addition to seriously injuring his rival and killing his rival’s bodyguard, Mr. Campbell shot innocent bystanders and put hundreds of other lives at risk. We will vigorously prosecute anyone who commits this type of deadly violence.” For more updates on the Troy Ave and Taxstone case, come back to HNHH.
